[Accepted] Jpowell59's Moderator Application

Hello. ToasterStrudel will contact you for an interview sometime in the near future. -
Just redoing my previous post so it’s more legible. Generally, the logs that get put into main chat are the ones that are immediately important (attack logs, grenade primes, welderbombs, digital valves, etc..). I’d hate to see my chat filled with another ton of logs anytime a prospective engineer wanted to do some powergrid work. On the off chance someone is possibly griefing. Then I’d have to go back searching when we finally realize it. Logspam when people are sparring in the holodeck is already bad enough. I think attaching it to “investigate” is a good compromise. It lets us see it if we need it, but hides it when it’s not. What do you think? I am not sure if this is possible. We’ll have to wait for Arrow768 to get back to us. I already suggested it in staffchat.

Personally, I am a fan of using it as a strategy to slow down people. I think it could be solved by making it only affect running mobs, AND giving lings a noslip tag. Then they could sprint through a tunnel of gibs to chase down slower prey.

Make Atmospherics (not so) Great Again
Flamingo replied to furrycactus's topic in Completed Projects
I won't go into it too much, because I've made my thoughts known on atmospherics plenty of times on various other platforms, but I've always supported making atmospherics shittier at start. It's literally so efficient right now that you have nothing to do except squeeze the absolute last bits of efficiency out of the system. The overall design seems fine to me, though I'm sure some touch-ups could be done given some time. +1 from me. Make atmospherics (not so) great again and actually give us something to do. Also please bring back the mix tank and N2O tank for messing around. -
[Accepted] Ban of security for Sandvich123
Flamingo replied to Sandvich's topic in Unban Requests Archive
Not necessary. A simple ahelp if it’s an emergency is fine, otherwise just dropping your gear in the security locker and going to cryo. Appeal accepted. The ban will be lifted shortly, as soon as I get on server. Locking and archiving. -
[Accepted] Ban of security for Sandvich123
Flamingo replied to Sandvich's topic in Unban Requests Archive
I am willing to lift your security ban, on the condition that you understand if we find you going afk again without using cryo or letting us know, the ban will simply be reapplied and you won’t be able to appeal it for a long period of time. All it takes is a quick press of the F1 key and a “I need to go, please cryo”. Does this sound fair to you? -

I play engineering a lot, but I am remaining silent on this issue, as I already have some ideas that I want to put forth once I have them laid out properly. I am only here to clear some misconceptions. 1. The roof solars are BUGGED. The issue has nothing to do with the crossed wire (though it should be fixed regardless). The actual cable is bugged out, so that it stops transferring power about halfway down. I have yet to make a bug report because honestly, I forgot. That said, it doesn’t matter, because solars can’t maintain the stations power needs. 2. You don’t have enough power to set up the tesla round start with how everything is laid out before stuff starts to die. You CAN do it, provided you swap a few cells and such, but you will have brownouts during it. It just takes so much time to move things around. It’s not very viable as a main power source without two people handling setup. Possible? Sure. Practical? Not really.

[Resolved] Player Complaint - FASCISMFORTHOSEWHOWANTIT
Flamingo replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
After some time spent going through the logs, Doc and I have determined no action is required for this complaint. While the chosen gimmick was non-inclusive to the borgs, the AI is not required to include them in the gimmick (though it is heavily encouraged). This is doubly true once you were unsynced from their laws due to being autotraitored yourself. Traitors are allowed to work together, or against eachother if they so choose. From our investigation, it looks like they were not specifically targeting you, but rather your two chosen gimmicks happened to collide with one another, resulting in the events of the round. I will leave this open for 24 hours if there are any concerns raised. -

With that, I'd like to say that my investigation into the logs and witness testimony lines up with what Arrow has said, and I didn't see any glaring issues crop up. If there's no additional concerns within the next 24 hours, I will be locking and archiving. -

Lonecompany's Head of Staff Application
Flamingo replied to Lonecompany's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I am biased because I am your friend and I want to see you succeed. I’ve pushed you into applying for quite some time now. I fully support your application but I have some questions. How do you plan to play your character once you obtain a whitelist? Is Wolfe going to be your stereotypical hardass ex-mil HoS that are a dime a dozen? How will this promotion affect him from a personality standpoint. Is he honored to hold such a position? Nervous? Do you feel you are competent throughout all of security to the point of being able to play HoS? You are not expected to be a super officer, but knowing how all of the mechanics function is a plus. How experienced are you with forensics for example? I wish you luck in your application, and look forward to your answers. -
The CE has one in their locker as well.

Sounds like a neat idea, and could be sorta useful. Like an RCD for inflatables. While true it’s not needed, we don’t really need any welder upgrades either, they’re just convenient and cool to have.
