Game ID: b18-adsz Reporting Personnel: Lynn Songna Rank of Reporting Personnel: Anomalist Personnel Involved: Jaden Halliwell, CMO - Aggressor Faith Windsor, Biochemist - Major Witness Joseph Lock, Head of Security- Witness Oscar Easter, Security Officer- Witness Ximquixal Uwo'Qoumix, Research Director- Witness Time of Incident: 15:00 station time 2461-07-07 Location of Incident: ICU, Medical Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct [x]Other: General Incompetence Overview of the Incident: While I was on the expedition, things went sideways. We opened an airlock, the atmos rushed out, and I slammed into a wall. My lungs popped. The team returned, and we made our way to medical. Once we were in medical, I was coughing up blood and gasping on the floor, and the CMO started yelling for no apparent reason. I was in a considerable amount of pain, but he was yelling 'BED' and 'NO TIME FOR DEMONSTRATION'. Just weird, non-related things as he stood over me and I was bleeding into my lungs. He was just standing there. Giving me nothing. Doing nothing, not even scanning me. Windsor suggested that he give me dexalin, and then another med that I don't recall from the top of my head. I'm not a doctor. I blacked out, and woke up to her explaining to him how to do his job, after which he threatened to have her removed from the department. Windsor, a biochemist, was at the time the only one actively treating me. As I was not breathing and bleeding into my lungs, the chemist being the only person working on me, I watched the CMO walk away to do a general check up on some random person that walked in. There was nothing wrong with them, they weren't sick. He just left me in the hands of a chemist as I was dying to do a checkup. Thus far, the CMO had made no effort to provide me any treatment, walked away to leave me unsupervised in the ICU, and threatened to fire the only person keeping me alive. Mind you, thorough this whole experience, I am in extreme pain and struggling to breathe. The CMO was completely uncompassionate and uncaring. By the time my lungs were fixed, they were still in the exam room, doing a general checkup. They didn't even care to see if I made it out alive or well. I will be the first to admit that I slapped them. I was in extreme pain, still angry, and oxygen-deprived. I have been charged with failure to execute an order and petty assault, which I will accept wholeheartedly. Even one hour later, however, I am suffering from the CMO's neglect as I cannot breathe without abdomen pain, and moving or walking causes my chest to ache. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Joseph Lock, Head of Security Actions taken: Gave me this form to fill. [Accepted] Borya's IPC Application
ShesTrying replied to BoryaTheSlayer's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Big +1. Borya is a great roleplayer and Vesper's story is honestly touching and shows how different IPCs are from humans. All in all I really look forward to interacting with the character. -
Orleans has shown himself, time and time again, not to put roleplay first, but to put winning first. I get it. I get the rush when I 'win' the game too. However, I also understand how important it is to facilitate roleplay and interactions. Stories. As a high rp server with such a kind and welcoming community as the norm, I'm surprised you've been able to stick around for so long. Your attitude is blatantly awful. You focus on gameplay over roleplay, and as soon as someone doesn't agree with you, you throw a fit, blame everyone but yourself, and don't realize that the best way to get out of a mistake you have made is to take accountability for your own actions. If this turns into a ban request, I will wholeheartedly support it.

Spider's Command Whitelist Application
ShesTrying replied to Spider's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1 Spider was actually one of the first people that I interacted with on Aurora. His roleplay is always top notch, and he focuses on the enjoyment of all parties, rather than winning or losing. I think he would make an amazing addition to command as he is a shining example of what security should be; progressors of roleplay. I would love to see Spider on the command team. -
Thanks so much!

I have no complaint with the verdict. -
Byond key: ShesTrying Discord key: Olivia#4393 Item name: (if you are applying for multiple items, it should be made into a list with the description, name and appearance together): Box - A black box, hopefully, to hold the pot and all the cups? If not a normal box would work just as well. The description would be, hopefully - A black, wooden box, the edges softened with transport and use. Bronze Teapot - A round-bottomed, well-used teapot. It looks as though it's been carefully maintained. Four Bronze Tea Cups - A shallow, bronze teacup. Looks heavy. Item function(s): The functions of the items would be fairly basic. The teapot would hold 120u of tea as the normal teapot would hold, with the same contents, just plain tea. The cups would keep their sprite whether filled or not, and hold 20u as opposed to 30u of liquid, since they're shorter and much smaller than a normal glass. Why is your character bringing this item to work? It's no secret that Thea loves her tea. It calms her, helps her focus, and is a general conversation piece and tool in her day-to-day life. She usually raids the bar for a teapot-- why not start bringing her own? How did your character obtain this item?: When Thea moved to Tau Ceti, she didn't have much. She learned, however, that small luxuries make things easier to bear. This was the first thing that she bought with her new pay, and new life. A sort of turnaround point for her. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: The teaset really tells the story of Thea's willingness to change. Anyone who knows Thea's full story knows that she hasn't had it too easy. The teaset, again, was turnaround point for her to dive in to her new life and grin and bear the rather rough transition. As for the value it holds to her, it's immense. She's had the teaset for the better part of ten years now, and doesn't intend on letting it go any time soon. Past that, Thea really, really likes tea. She likes to sit down and have conversations with people over it, she finds it good on any occasion, and it has proven to be a great way to de-escalate a situation. It's an excuse to sit down and take a moment for yourself, and aswell an item that she can keep as a sort of trophy. 'Look how far I've come.' How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP?: I can't begin to tell you how many times Thea has sat down with an antag over tea for negotiations. Or how, when someone is feeling down, she offers them a cup just to make them feel better. It's a conversationpiece, something to sit down and talk about or just a reason to sit down in the chaos. Sprites: Additional Comments: I've been delaying this... Forever. @AmoryBlaine was kind enough to do these fantastic sprites and I've kept delaying it for fear of it being denied, haha. Please, give me my tea set and make my dreams come true. teacup.dmi teapot.dmi

[Passed] UglyXeno's command whitelist application
ShesTrying replied to VUX's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
!!! I love Xeno! I had no idea they had a command app until now. Always cares about making the round fun, and past that always puts roleplay first. When I first met Leslie, I was blown away that I hadn't seen her before. An awesome, well rounded character that I really enjoyed meeting. I hope to see her around more often! +1 -
Orleans and I have had plenty of interaction in the past, both with me in a command role and not. I am, consistently, surprised that Nick Volvalaad hasn't been demoted ICly. Considering aswell the fact that Thea alone has demoted him no less than four times canonically, and he's mentioned his numerous IRs placed against him. Nick is the very definition of an unga bunga harmbaton security officer. I try to be very understanding of everyone's type of roleplay but when your whole character is 'I don't think before I act! Angry boy! I have a dark side!' I think that's an issue. I was in the beach round. I was surprised you were cloned at all, considering attacking a shark with a baton is practically suicide. I agree with @SHODAN when they say to take a step back and look at your RP. Even your complaint is sarcastic, lax, and insulting. If you want results, you need to take measures to sound as professional as you can, instead of making low-blow jokes to the people who you're complaining about and pasting memes in an official complaint. Nick shouldn't be a security officer, and from what I saw in that round, I think you should take some time to think about what direction you want this character to go in.

[Denied] GlitterGuts Command Application
ShesTrying replied to GlitterGuts's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1 Glitter is always a great addition to any round. I've interacted the most with CRATUS, and I can say with certainty that they know what they are doing, and not only that understand the concept of roleplay without focusing entirely on mechanics. They're always fun to be around and, past that, whenever I see their characters in round I'm usually sure that whatever job they have will be done right. -
[Accepted]Cnaym's command whitelist app
ShesTrying replied to Cnaym's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
A +1 for me. I've had the opportunity to interact with both Cnaym's RD and HOP, both of which seem rather well-rounded and put together. Cnaym often puts a lot of thought behind her characters, and it really shows in the different personalities and traits that they display. Overall a good person, and a great addition to command. -
Player Complaint - Shestrying
ShesTrying replied to MissNatcula's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Firstly, I can see where you're coming from on this complaint. It sucks to have gripes ooc, and our conversation in Discord didn't really lead to anything productive. I was going to write a complaint of my own, until a mutual friend asked me to reconsider, and so I did. To be honest, I was surprised to see this complaint come up, but I'll do my part to lay out my side of the story. Firstly, it seems like you're complaining about other people in a complaint about me. And I don't want to accuse you of blaming me for other people's actions, but you yourself told me that you think that I should take responsibility for what the people around me say, which I refuse to do. As I told you in discord, I do not control other people, nor do I try to. I will post here the rest of our discord conversation, for full transparency's sake. http://prntscr.com/nbded9 As I stated above, I've since decided that I wasn't going to write a complaint, even though @Pratepresidenten informed me it was the best way to move forwards, after ahelping in a round. Now that the preface is out of the way, I can take care of the points that I am able to. I would really like to know what exactly it was that Thea did, because I have been racking my brain trying to figure it out. Of course, if you don't want to tell me, you don't have to, as this is purely IC banter. To me, however, and Thea, the hate seemed to come out of absolutely nowhere, and come in hard. Aimee informed Thea that Dyslioth had asked for extra medication. Thea has a background of psych, and she knows full-well that self-medication is a bad idea. However, Thea asked Aimee how she wanted to move forwards, and Aimee said that more medication would not be provided. Aimee is a CMO, and medication is in no way under Thea's jurisdiction. Now, Lin comes in towards Thea, a member of command, in an insulting, demeaning manner. Accusing her of having sexual relations with another command member, calling her bad at her job, and refusing to listen to command-level orders to keep communications professional. This is slander of a head of staff, and past that, a serious concern for Thea, as she has now seen Lin ask for extra medication, act agressive and unprofessional over comms, which is out of character for Lin, and now seem completely unreceptive to any sort of help. Lin, at this point, has proven herself to Thea as unstable, and a person of concern. Therefore, a person who should not be in control of all weaponry on the station. Now, Thea let this go as Lin seemed to calm down, and the situation was, for the most part, resolved. I would go so far as to say this is the main point of deterioration between Lin and Thea, and it only goes downhill from there. I am not Isemann's player. I do not control Isemann's actions. Thea was, for the most part, removed from this situation until Lin started insulting Thea on communications. Allow me to preface this next secion with the following: Lynn Songna is a horrible, unhinged human being. I play her as a selfish, self-experimenting scientist who cares only for her research and not for what happens to get her to where she wants to be. Lynn thinks of herself as God's gift to the universe, and reacts to everything said, done, and spoken around her as if she were the focus which, in her mind, she should be. Lynn Songna (For the sake of clarity I'll call her Songna) and Bob (McClaughlen is the last name) were gossiping. I don't remember exactly how it came about, but Bob mentioned something about not liking Dyslioth, and, well, if your meat-shield doesn't like someone, you don't like them either. Songna has struggled with money for most of her life, so gossip or not, when someone is counting more money in their hands then she has in her bank account, Songna will get irritated. After all, Songna is the center of the universe. How dare anyone be more well-off than her? So she stood up, looked to Bob, made a rude remark, and sat down again. It accomplished the goal of entertaining someone she considered useful, so it accomplished her purposes. In honesty, though, I thought that oocly, Nat was setting up for someone to do something like that. After all, she got the money out, /me'd something along the lines of "Takes out a stack of cash and begins counting", and turned her chair to face the wall. I thought I'd take the roleplay oppertunity and interact some. Next time I will not. Songna most certianly was not screaming. I remember harsh words being said, but not once did I use caps lock, or exclamation points. Songna had come to fetch Bob, gun or not, to go and dig up some space rocks. There was also no fight at all. Songna was in the middle of insulting Dyslioth when the wizard for that round popped into existance, so in this instance I do not recall a fight happening at all. Verbal? Yes. But no screaming, no punching, no nothing. OOCly, I understand this. However, once more, Songna is a god-complexed, selfish human being. She believes that the world should (and does) revolve around her, so of course she should have an officer accompany her, drag her generator for her, and protect her. She believes herself to be the best asset NT has, and she wants to be treated as such. Also, from an OOC perspective, if an officer is choosing to go out anyway, why not arm them with what weapons they might need to defend themselves, instead of sending them out empty-handed? They are going out anyway. You are losing a body anyway. As a Warden, (a role I have not played, so ignore this if it makes no sense,) I would think that you would want to arm your men to come home alive, instead of sending them out with nothing. It is not just a situation between Isemann and Dyslioth. I can't remember who, (blonde hair, I think, ponytail,) But someone had a speaker on medical channel in medbay as Songna was being treated for various bear, carp, worm, and self-experimentation wounds. She heard it over the radio, so she spewed it out. Why wouldn't she? She'd been beaten and bruised, so she wanted to get back at Dyslioth, who seemed, at the time, the only person to really understand how unhinged Songna is. Yes, that was the goal. To have people gang up on Dyslioth, not to have you cryo. Songna had, once more, been denied weapons, and what better way to get them than to have people force them into her officer-shield's hands? Once more- Lynn Songna is a horrible human being. An unhinged scientist who cares only for their work. I apologize if I went too far ICly, however Songna is not designed to be a nice, or gentle person. She will make completely unfounded accusations if she can, and will take a rumor and run as far as she can with it, if it will get her what she wants. You are right that it does leak into OOC. I am sorry to hear that you look at my characters and are filled with a sense of dread. However, I ask you to remember that I have more characters than just Songna and Marietti. Characters that get along with Lin well, and characters that barely speak to her. The only problems you have stated are with the characters that have problems with you IC. To be honest, I have never seen your characters on the roster and been filled with dread. In fact, I enjoy Marietti and Dyslioth bickering, and Songna is always fun to play when I can really show just how unhinged she is. I welcome a report IC, as I think it would be a really interesting source of roleplay for all parties involved. I really hope you're referring to Songna here. Moving on. I don't know what you're referring to here. We barely speak, OOC, and again, IC, you only have issues with the characters that have issues with Dyslioth. Again, I'm sorry if I took things too far ICly. In the future, I can tone it down and I would be happy if you actually provided me a line of where you would prefer I stop as far as IC insults go. I wasn't aware that it would affect you to the extent of making you leave the round, and again, I'm sorry. I do not intend to bully you at all. That's not where I wanted to go with this in the least, and I have no idea where bullying OOC goes. Again, I barely speak to you OOC. Our interactions are almost entirely IC. From what I have seen of you, however, you have been quick to anger with me before. I don't hate you, Natcula, nor do I have any lessened opinion of you. I have no ill-will in your direction at all. In the end, I think Natcula is a good person, and a good roleplayer. I'm honestly a bit saddened that it came to a complaint, but I'm glad that I get the chance to lay all of this out, in full detail. I'm sorry that you feel that actions that I have taken are directed in a malicious manner, and I'm sorry that things that I have done have upset you to the point of cryoing. I'll take full responsibility for that. However, once more, I will not take responsibility for the things that other people have said, or the things that other characters have done. -

[Accepted]Somethingiguess's Skrell Application
ShesTrying replied to VVipEdout's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Honestly? A really easy +1. Guess is the first person I go to regarding, really, any lore on the Aurora. They're someone who I know has established characters, and the two people that they have made are more than different enough to be distinct, seperate personalities. I have no doubt in Guess' roleplaying ability and, past that, I have every reason to believe that they will be a great addition to any of the other races on the Aurora. Every character I have seen from them, on this roleplay platform and others, is well thought out, and a pleasure to interact with. They have a solid understanding of what makes up a person, down to the small nuances, and in the end it would be great, as Clear said, to see them widen their horizons and bring even more amazing characters to interact with. -
+1. Reeves is a solid character with a great background and would make a great addition to command. He places roleplay before gameplay, and in my opinion that's more than a good thing. Pred knows how to roleplay, past that, and is truly great at assessing a situation and taking charge. While I don't play security, I have seen him in action and acting as an interim HoS. He is more than capable of taking on a command role, and with his talent for roleplay he is capable of setting a great example for anyone around him.
-
I can definitely make a new character for an HoP position. My reasoning for Thea taking up the role is that I was under the impression it could be a more HR-oriented role. While she doesn't have the business experience from the schooling itself, she was self-employed for a short time before joining with NT, and as her background is in psych she tends to know what people are willing to do in terms of work, interaction, and general mental capabilities of people, if that makes sense. She doesn't have enough experience in general medicine for me to justify her being a CMO, however. The main duties of an HoP, from what I can tell, is synergizing the departments and ensuring that everyone working is happy and productive. What better person to do this than someone who is intimately familiar with the way a mind works, and what makes people tick? It is certainly no issue for me to make another character, though, and I can see where your concern comes from.

BYOND key: ShesTrying Character names: Thea Marietti, Lynn Songna, Valerie Aquila, Naia Willam, Nih-LA (pAI), Lush (Nymph) How long have you been playing on Aurora?: I joined the server in late December of 2018, and have picked it up on a daily basis in the past two months. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I want to be on the whitelist to further Thea’s character progression, mainly. She started working with NanoTrasen out of want to progress her own research, and through interactions and bonds with people has moved to wanting to help the crew of the Aurora further themselves. Past that, I think I am capable of helping new players, and providing a fresh perspective on the command team, along with setting an example of roleplay for the people working under and around me. Why did you come to Aurora?: Aurora was actually the first SS13 server that I joined. ClearThoughts recommended it to me, and taught me the game, after which I picked up the rest myself. I haven’t really joined any other servers than Aurora, and I don’t intend to. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I was bwoinked by Read once for clicking a restart vote instead of a round vote, told not to do it again, and never did it again. I didn’t know what it was and now I do. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is becoming a character and viewing a world through their eyes, and choosing actions based on their prerogative. It is about becoming someone or something different, new, and fun. Roleplay is about interacting with people, items, and experiences in a perspective that is, ideally, not your own. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose of a head of staff is to provide an example for the people around you, as for a roleplay standard. Past that, I believe that heads of staff are there to teach possibly new players who just want to expand their knowledge how to play the game, helping them with getting accustomed to the server, and really offering yourself as someone who is willing to be there and help them through any difficulties they may have with the game, or roleplay in general. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The responsibilities of a whitelisted player, in my opinion, mirror the responsibilities of a head of staff player. Without a command role, these players will, most likely, be the ones who interact with new people on a less formal basis, and are the best, in my opinion, for asking quick questions, and providing, similarly to a head of staff, guidance and advice. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Two years ago Thea happened upon a job with NanoTrasen as a station psychiatrist. NanoTrasen was just the kind of company she was looking for, a place to get lost in the files and a place to learn more about people. She had fled Sol in an attempt to remove herself from bad choices made in her youth and, with Tau Ceti being such a diverse place she had more than enough cases to look at, help, and evaluate, making herself more than useful enough to keep around. Based out of the Odin for a long while she eventually landed an away spot on the NSS Aurora. Her reason for taking the transfer, figuring that it would be a good place to further her research, and as NanoTrasen itself had the Republic of Beisel in a metaphorical economic stranglehold, felt safe rising in the company. After all, if the company was willing to protect her, she was willing to work for them. As tensions rise with Sol and Tau Ceti, Thea placed her roots firmly with NanoTrasen and intends to stay there. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? HoP only, for some time if I get the whitelist. I don’t plan on expanding at all until I’ve really experienced the other departments and what they require. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Thea Marietti - Head of Personnel How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I would rate myself a solid eight out of ten, as everyone has room to learn new ways of writing, interacting, and creating characters. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes. Extra notes: None-- thank you for taking the time to give this a read.
