Due to the concerns exposed in this thread, mostly the lack of knowledge on regulations and the looc behavior, we are giving one week extension in this application. Be sure to collect feedback meanwhile and improve said points, staff will be watching how you handle this in game and we will come with a conclusion in one week.

[Resolved] Situation Complaint - Alberyk and an event
Alberyk replied to ajstorey456's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
There was several announcements about the vaurca invading the system and the like, I am not sure why you would not presume such. And the other vaurca were aware of the Lii'dra presence. And if you were not really expecting them to be hostile, why did you run at them with a rifle in hand followed by an armed combat borg. Except there was a vote to adminbus, and everyone agreed with it. And I was not under the control of whatever the team wanted to do, I gave them the objectives. And the vault's nuke has nothing to do with nuke ops, I have no idea what you are talking about, at no moment the vaurca were trying to destroy the station, only steal the nuke from the vault. And to argue, most of the vaurca's gear was clearly inferior when against the station, at the point that all of them were killed. Except, some people did come to me and said they did enjoy the event, I am sorry that you did die. And it was rather impossible for them to take any hostage if security and armed people just swarmed their locations. Also, a single dying vaurca was taken hostage in the end, when the second team was pretty much dead, not sure how did you expect them to rescue said dying vaurca. Besides, there was a lot of interaction between the vaurca and the crew, such as some of them turning against the crew, clearly helping with the rev gimmick. -
[Resolved] Situation Complaint - Alberyk and an event

Nope, they entered via the bridge, where they did meet the head of personnel, and later, the head of personnel warned the crew about them. As I said, the station was already on code red with combat cyborgs even before they were sent. And I did give the lii'dra agents a clear objective which was to take the nuke from the vault, that which seems to be the reason why they were on the sublevel. And as I said, security ran at them armed with lasers on hands and with combat cyborgs following them, the situation would be really different if it was just a bunch of unarmed crewmembers. -

So, I asked the people in aooc if they were fine with it and I ran a vote to add the vaurca invaders. Anyway, they got into the station, attacked the hop and ran to the lower level, where the AI reported them. Take in mind that the station was on code red, and they had combat borgs even before the invaders were reported. Then, an officer, the hos and a combat borgs walk into them inside a tunnels, the officer in question had a laser rifle in hand, from there the vaurca opened fire on them using an ion rifle and their weapons, which resulted in the cyborg being stunned and the ipc officer being killed by the ion. Why I did not rule this as gank: there was already an entire escalation happening at the point with the annoucements and the code changes, and you were running into a dark tunnel full of confirmed hostiles, with weapons in hand. I did not see them really murder the head of personnel that was not armed on contact, so, I did believe that attacking security in that case was a proper reaction. If it was code blue, none of you were armed with weapons, and there was no knowledge of the invasion, or you were not all security, I would surely handle it as gank. -
Too big, we do not support custom borgs spriters that are larger than 32x32.

I will give you another chance, remember to read the server rules, and if the same thing ends happening, I do think I will reconsider apply this ban. Appeal accepted.
-
I will lift this ban, but, remember to read and follow the server rules. Appeal accepted.
-
Ban lifted under the already explained conditions.
-
Main issues: you were roleplaying a satyrical islamic extremist, this has to cease due to the server rules. Second issue: you tried to explode a welding tank in a really really populated area. I will lift this ban and give you another choice, but, read the server rules and behaver, more of this behavior will be punished with another permaban.
-
I am not against lifting this ban, but, if it is to happen, take in mind that any more of this behavior will be punished in the same manner, do you understand this?

[2 dismissals; Archive: 30.10.2017].Provide a bodyguard for the merchant
Alberyk replied to alexpkeaton's topic in Archive
The merchant has no need for a bodyguard, they already have access to a handgun and other ways to defend himself. +1 dismissal. -
[2 dismissals; Archive: 30.10.2017]Remove Nitrogen from Engine room
Alberyk replied to ToasterStrudel's topic in Archive
No, nitrogen enignes are valid as a phoron engine. +1 dismissal. -
Locking and archiving due to the reasons already stated.
-
No, only crew has accounts, and the merchant is not crew. He can just keep his money with himself or at the console. +1 dismissal.

Alright, after having a discussion with the staff, and taking in consideration delta's point, I see no issue with the warnings, because there was a note about improper ooc behavior. And due to such, I will consider that scheveningen acted in the right manner here. I will consider this a non-issue, and I will leave the thread open for 24 hours for anyone to add something.

Item done and added to the code, you should be able to spawn with it now.

If a necromancer has a lichdom, raise dead and fireball, that means he has no other spells and is probably walking all his way into the station, or using the limited use teleporting scroll. So, if a necromancer has both lichdom and raise dead, means he either has a mobility or an offensive spell. Besides, when returning to life, there is a chance that a central command report will be send with the location of the phylactery. Liches can also be destroyed via gibbing and dusting, that also stops them from returning to life.

[Resolved] TheDocOct - I'm challenging the warning.
Alberyk replied to JKJudgeX's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
I only commented to the RD over the ion annoucement, that anyone could hear, as well the the cmo said something about it. I asked if the RD was going to look into it, she did not reply and I did not even dwell more into the matter. Then, I walked outside of my office and returned later, and went outside again, to be shocked by an airlock. I tell engineering and head to medical. I come back to the bridge after the ce tells me it is fixed, I walk into a shocked door, go back, end touching other door and dying. I do not really recall telling anyone or hinting anything besides; we had an ion storm annoucement, that you could be hostile, because I had no clue in character of so. -
The round did last one hour without any interaction between the antags and the crew, because the heisters were stealing things like the spare. Anyway, I spotted them on the surface, from the fitness room while Faysal was using the pool, something he commonly does, then, to be sure of what I saw, I looked around the surface and warned security, telling them to keep an eye open for non-crew around. And then, the AI and myself spots the heisters breaking into the bridge. I escape from them, and then, when calling for security, I find out they are all either ssd or dead due to a slime outbreak, at this point, I would need to call an ert, but as a single head of staff that is not possible without help. So, I make a call for people that can bear arms to head to the brig, so, we might protect ourselves until we can get help. Some people come, I arm them. I give Martonis, an engineering apprentice, an all access id so he can go to the ce's office and swipe for an ert. We head to the bridge, and it seems that the heisters are down at the vault. I get to coordinate with the engineering apprentice and we call an ert. At this point, Absynth's characters ask if she can go down, I tell if she is going down the vault, to do no engage the hostiles and just run if she sees troubles. She goes down and tell us they are escaping using a hand tele. Then, one of the raiders runs at the bridge entrance, and point his gun at me, to avoid a fight because the raiders were far better armed than me and my team, I open fire at a fire alarm, but I am still hit a by bullet that causes a broken chest and internal bleeding. At this point, I run away and head to medical, where I go under surgery and I am unable to coordinate anyone. At some point, the ert comes, and seems that the miner went to the surface to fight them, take in mind I did not order her to chase the hostiles, because I was knocked out due to medical. Then, the emergency team comes, and takes control of the situation, while I tell people to just protect themselves and hold their departments. Later, robotics tell me that the gygax they made was ready, and I go to meet with the emergency team, to find they are being attacked by the raiders at research. At this point, the miner also runs into research, and I yell for security and the trooper to engage the hostiles that were retreating. Absynth runs with both security and the troopers at them, being hit by rifles bullets, but, keeps going into the maintenance after the hostiles. At no point I told said milita to chase the hostiles, they were only armed because we had no way to defend ourselves due to the lack of security, and the first thing we did when we could was to call an emergency team.

From the rules: "Verbal Warning/Warning: A warning is the lightest type of punishment we will dispense. Generally, this means you'll be informed of the rule you've broken, and we'll let you resume playing after you ensure us you won't break the rule again." So, you had a prior note about this kind of behavior from ooc, and you were muted by a mod due to it, and they did explained to you what was wrong. So, you did repeat it and you were warned, which is, in the way I can understand, another step on the escale of punishment. I would agree that a warning might have been not in place if it was the first case of this happening, but, it is not. Anyway, I do not think that the wording here is really that important, or it is going to change anything in this case. Because, as far i can see in your notes, you did something similar some time before, and a escalation happened before you were punished.

It is a feature that humans can wear skrell helmets, in the same way skrell can wear regular suits made for humans. +1 dismissal.
