I think for the most part they've been good, although the pacifism change was somewhat controversial for uhhh barely changing much. I'd say that what made it feel so weak was that they could still be sec but that's largely an aside. I think the lore has been developing well, although perhaps some of the inherent danger of their collectives en mass has been somewhat killed and that's sad. Eternal is less cult but still needs a bit more work, otherwise a massive improvement. I know I won't have a full agreement with Zund or Yon on Dionae regarding antags or security but that's fine and we'll work fine regardless. Is there anything you would like to change or specifically work on? I think that barring what I said formerly regarding my own stance on Diona Security and Diona Antags (mostly a personal opinion nothing I'm actively pushing). I think that I'd be working firstly on Dionae mentality, it's really hard to explain how they think and how players should *think* they think. It's difficult to get into them as a species because of that simple mindset, of how even the collectives format themselves, examples people can base on. I would also get some commissions of different Dionae forms, a consular specific form (Argus) and a medium sized growth from a nymph (cerberus). Additionally a base sprite that is customizable for things such as an Iron Eternal (the most based) follower with bits of tech and shit sticking outta them. --- Example Dionae Mentality: Truly one of the most alien and unique of communities are those that form within gestalts, only even barely comparable to the hives of the Vaurca due to shared thoughts. What makes them complicated to the observer is how their dynamics can vary wildly, from a domineering nymph with charm managing to become a dictator of a smaller collective to a pure democracy that votes on every action, or elects certain nymphs to represent them. (speculation section) There are even rare gestalts that agree to work so communally that they are more akin to neurons all working to a singular cause than individuals, and suffer perhaps even more greatly mentally than others at the loss of part of their cognition.

Retracting, I got the coveted Diona lore slot to apply for, and have been even more interested in the based plants. Stay truckin and probably will end up proposing those grammar fixes later

Accurately sums up my thoughts, even moreso on the lifeweb combat. On LFWB there's shitloads of mechanics and inherent SKILLS that give mechanical advantages to say a Cerberus (their security sorta) vs a Bum (Literal human garbage) thus making it more balanced in a thousand ways. It feels inspired by Lifeweb but without the things that make it so entertaining

1. Oh absolutely I'll have differences in opinion on things, however I think that is exactly the point. If I come onto the team I'll surely have some differences of opinion and said debates can lead to either nothing happening or the fleshing out of current ideas. If everyone just agrees the writing quality usually will suffer. I doubt it'll impede my ability to actually have relationships and communication though. 2. I think it's my level of interest. The other applicants are clearly not invested in the lore in any of the same degrees, if they had actually read the lore to the degrees I have they would have noticed some glaring problems with grammar and formatting. Additionally I am extremely active on the lorecord, have a past of commissioning coders and even spriters to improve species. Additionally I'd like to say I have pretty good relations with the lore devs overall and with Jam and Rooster respectively. 3. Lets do a check list Fix grammatical errors and some spelling inconsistencies Clarify how the Phoron shortage is affecting each queen and how the hives are adapting Assist with the writing of any new arcs, event suggestions and plotting Expand on the Bound slightly Clarify that Bound Warriors are warforms as per Rooster's ruling (bound warrior colour scheme just being clarified to bound warforms on each page) Keep Vaurca in the spotlight by making them respond in some ways to current events, new articles etc etc Probably way more as time goes on lets be honest

The combined knowledge of everything that isn’t Skrell lore or recent Dominian lore (because my brain can’t absorb Dominian lore after the rewrites it just keeps mixing old and new) within my noggin. Jk go ahead, most of the lore isn’t in the handout, that’s the brief limited player knowledge :^) Additional Comments: Personally first and foremost I don’t understand why the other applicants didn’t apply with this as the primary premise. The Vaurca pages have some of the most integral and curious lore on the wiki, but they are plagued with a lack of formatting, grammar issues and spelling errors/inconsistencies. I’d make it my first priority to fix it all and make it much more digestible for newer players to see the race and understand them. Secondarily in terms of additions, Vaurca aren’t in need of sweeping additions and instead I think what matters more is things like how the Phoron scarcity is changing their society and individual hives. Since it’s been debated that K’ois create Phoron anymore that would also have to be updated, with some other kinds of lore like their homeworld having natural Phoron and thus when it bled out the atmosphere there weren't just stellar genetically sterilizing rays to handle but also those complexities. It would also then add in a big reason for VR to take off as an addition without detracting from the original intent: that being that while in VR they require substantially less to maintain, and thus consume little Phoron on their long long journey.

Probably the best AI on the server at least in my timezone. I hate that their name is misspelled, but otherwise they're pleasant OOC. I can't really see them using the Whitelist maliciously, rps in good faith and all that so yeah +1

i like it but i don't like it, it's not very uhhhhhhh fun it's a cool concept and servers like Lifeweb make it work because in that game they have buttons on the UI to lock the way you're facing and stuff like that, additionally if you lose an eye you lose some of the arc. The thing is that that server is *DESIGNED* around that, and there's a lot of gameplay we have currently that doesn't quite click with it. Really I think it could work, but there's a lot that needs to be changed

Ta'Akaix'Aoan K’lax as a Ta for diplomatic reasons was spawned by Leto’s hive along with quite a few others. They had been actively working to continue Phoron supplies from the Zo’ra and other nations to keep their hive breathing. However as the shortage has worsened their efforts have met more and more roadblocks, nobody is selling, everyone is keeping. K’ois can only handle so much, and the weight of responsibility to keep her Queen and what remains of her people alive is heavy on her large shoulders. Additionally she keeps the teachings of Vedhra at the tip of her mind, the ever present threat of the Lii’dra is indeed coming. All must throw aside their prejudice, we must all work together if we are to survive the oncoming storm. They have no strife, they work all in unison to destroy us, and it isn’t long until they will return. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? 1) Things were much much less orderly, there was a chaos that they no longer could control. In VR they were safe, they could imagine any space and lived in absolute comfort, outside of VR there were things they couldn't expect. It was a harsh reality, and seeing the somewhat dire straits they were in, how every other alien species is almost exploiting their hive for personal gain. To see the memories doesn't encapsulate just how rough it is for their hive, for everyone around them and their Queen. 2) While they have a natural suspicion of all alien species due to the fact that every interaction they've seen, involves somehow shafting their hive or others. The Hegemony allows us to stay, but in return we have to provide. Once upon a time we had a glorious hive, and required nobody else. In short, they don't have hatred of any sort, but to say they are extremely untrusting is an understatement. A longing for true independence.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well they are ‘short lived’ per body as an unbound,everything is a lot faster than humans. They grow for 6 months, then are in VR for 6 months to learn, then they’re torn back to the icky material plane. Then they live for 20ish years, die, then eventually get put in a new body. Bound are basically like playing a lobotomized borg, you live to do whatever Unbound ask you to do, you have no personality, do your job. They also have speech differences with varying degrees of issue based on the quality of their vocoders, f and TH into ZZ and so on. Character Name:Ka'Akaix'Uual K’lax Reaching the age of 58 years old, they have spent much of this in The Sleepwalker’s VR. They have been experiencing much of the outside world since the arrival of their fleet through the downloaded experiences of their brood kin, having lost their body they recently have been placed once again by the will of the Queen into a new vessel. They have learned much, and spent most of their time speaking with the newest and oldest minds, trying to be as intellectually helpful while in VR. Now that they have a body, they have made quick use by dismantling as much technology they can. This world may be hard, but Uual is determined to make it better in any way for their kindred. Additionally they harbor a slight resentment towards humanity for their unfair trade deal with the K’lax hive. Along with a hint of caution around Tajara after the Lii’dra incidents and mobbings. The shock that the C’thur survived was received in VR, and having not engaged with one outside of given memories they have a strict racial suspicion or even abject hatred of most of the hive. They were sent to Mendell to provide information back as to the conditions the Zo’ra were facing. It was largely a personal venture under the pretense of earning credits for their hive outside of the scam of a trade deal. It wouldn’t take long before their skills in logistical work landed them a job in NanoTrasen moving goods, with a vested interest in making sure their coworkers resolved their issues amicably. What do you like about this character? I like the unique take on the world around them, a chance to see the world with their own two eyes for the first time. Sort of like seeing people living life all the time on TV and finally being able to do it themselves. It will be really cool to find out where they fit in. What if we had insane numbers of languages but everyone has a minor ear translator so dialects still work. Some languages are too alien, gives more language options without causing clique issues. edit: also on bay nobody uses all the languages because nobody would understand them
