  1. I myself haven't played much with Stobarico yet but I think they would be a good fit, if the community is having such mixed opinions, why not extend their trial?
  2. All of the monkeys had bombs in them, and the surgeon ended up killing like eight people.
  3. The directives had to be removed because they would highly restrict 81. Most were boring and bureaucratic but some that stand out would be only using hephaestus-made equipment and only being able to accept jobs from Hephaestus or it's subsidiaries.
  4. App has been reworked @niennab, I believe this is the final version now
  5. I would like the time extension to rework the app a bit, thanks
  6. why they can't be flipped ? Flipping them would be cool.
  7. Only very rarely you will see IPCs acting unpredictably (acting recklessly, aggressively) because they are kept in check by regular maintenance. Also can I rewrite a huge part of the backstory to make it conceptually different ?
  8. I was in many rounds where Luke Sun did poor RP as an antag, but two stand out a lot, the first one was the round NiennaB was talking about. I was the warden, when Luke Sun wordlessly shot first and then proceeded to mow us down, forcing me to split as a dionae, killing the officer and injuring the shell IPC, this made zero sense as they had a hostage and could just very easily have negotiated. The second one is when I was playing as a surgeon and saw Luke Conan enter the medical lobby, unbuckle the SSD chef, grab him and drain him of blood in like ten seconds, without saying a single word. I ahelp and he gets frozen by staff, a few minutes later he gets unwinded and returns to play. This is massive metagaming and lowrp fuckery, the guy literally ganked the SSD chef like it was some kind of League of Legends match. He also lied to staff, saying he didn't know the guy was AFK but the moment he grabbed the chef, the message "maybe they are SSD' appeared and yet they ignored that, proceeding to suck the guy dry anyway. Conan ALREADY KNEW the chef was SSD but did it anyways because he knew the chef would not fight back and that nobody would notice. Note : I think either Tbear13 or TG_Griffin handled my ahelp on that round.
  9. @niennab Oh yeah, the formatting broke when I pasted the text here, I will fix it soon. Regarding the backstory, I do not understand what you mean by conceptual difference, can you clarify so I rework the needed parts better ? And about the contract, the offer for 81's contract for working on the NSS Aurora was seen as lucrative enough to not send it to a Hephaestus owned posting instead. Regarding the differences between IPCs and Humans About IPCs operating off of cause and effect, this means that they will never behave illogically or erratically, always acting in a calculated and planned manner, IPCs acting strangely is a rarity since they are expensive and well maintained. Their analytical behaviour leads to a marked difference in speech, too, often using more defined speech and not replicating mannerisms well. On their behaviour, most IPCs act in a cordial and friendly manner, or else they would have not been trusted with a body at all. While basic models are friendly to most, complex models made with socialization in mind may develop complex relationships just like humans do.

One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I like the concept of IPCs and I believe I would enjoy the RP. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I will start with self preservation. All IPCs have self-preservation as their highest priority at all times and will not behave recklessly. This means that an IPC will never blindly run infront of gunfire or act as a disposable distraction. While IPCs are designed to mimic humans, they cannot fully do this, with success varying by the model’s design, and make every decision based off of cause and effect. IPC’s are purpose-made and will only specialize in one or two jobs, they very rarely are reassigned to another function, as reprogramming the IPC is expensive and most of the time, not worth it. Character Name: HHPU-1281 Please provide a short backstory for this character Hephaestus Hazardous Prospector Unit, number 1281 was built at the HPS Sidirourgeío in Tau Ceti and was designed to perform mining operations in high risk environments alongside heavy logistics work. Being a G2 frame, it’s design is expensive and built to last, with very few corners cut by it’s design team. After it’s manufacturing, it was assigned to cargo work in one of Hephaestus’s small cargo ships in the Tau Ceti system, used to carry loads into the ships. While the majority of it’s human coworkers were initially skeptical of the unit, 81 managed to be accepted by most and even liked by a few of it’s closer colleagues after adopting lighthearted humor and pranks to forge new friendships, even once dressing up as a wizard for costume day. One day, while 81 was loading a box of highly-expensive industrial equipment together with a human employee, 81 ended up miscalculating and accidentally letting the crate slip out of its hands, destroying the valuable equipment inside. The foreman quickly arrives at the scene of the accident, angry and dissatisfied. Knowing that if 81 admitted fault to this expensive accident would surely lead to it’s wiping, 81’s self-preservation kicked in, lying and saying that the human cargo technician dropped it instead. The foreman, believing it to be a machine incapable of lying, believes this for now, saying he will review security footage of the cameras later. Uh oh. 81 wasn’t aware that there were cameras on that part of the ship, what would it do now ? In just a few hours, the camera footage upload would be finished, and, once the foreman saw the truth, 81 would be certainly doomed. It had to think quickly, what to do ? 81 recalled that the cargo ship was gonna stop in Mendell to unload, then proceed back to its final destination, an Hephaestus-owned station. 81 had to get off in Mendell, it was it’s only chance of escaping. As the cargo ship landed and the workers began unloading the crates, 81 quickly slipped out of the port, making its way down the streets. It didn’t know this place, it was lost, and it’s already low battery was running out of charge. Before entering low-power mode and collapsing, it had unknowingly arrived at District 14. Exiting out of low-power mode in a strange room, 81 would quickly learn it was rescued by members of a group called “The Trinary Perfection”, while 81 was thankful and wished to stay to learn more, it had more pressing issues to attend to, such as Hephaestus wanting it’s property back. 81 began asking around and quickly found a shady IPC roboticist that would remove it’s tag and directives, for a price, of course. After the deal was done, 81 finally saw themselves freed, but now, they had to fulfill their end of the deal, but how would they get the credits ? 81 searched for a job, applying as a free IPC for an opening as a cargo technician in the NSS Aurora. Now, it had to adapt to a radically new work environment. Being untagged, it must keep the facade up, along with paying its debt off. What will happen if their secret gets out ? What do you like about this character? I like the concept of playing an new IPC with secrets to hide, will be interesting to see how it pans out in game. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would say it’s good enough. Notes: I would like to thank everybody in the lore discord for their feedback
  11. While the vision cones appear to be well done, I think they are useless for their intended purpose (stealthy antag gameplay) and will instead just be a nuisance.
  12. I agree, right now the Detective role appears to be useless. +1
  13. @Caelphon How does this affect Wound's life? Do they still struggle with Cognitive Obstacles surrounding this? Are they relatively unfettered by it? Wounds was affected by the event, becoming paranoid and stressed. Deciding against keeping their thoughts to themselves, they seeked out a therapist from the Choir, dealing with their cognitive obstacles and learning new ways to manage stress. Would you say that Wounds plays the Saxophone as a hobby, or moreso to gain attention/friends? Wounds started playing the saxophone as a way to make friends, but later started enjoying it. Did Wounds encounter any forms of discrimination? Did they expierence something here that attributes to their name? Overall, how was their university life? While they weren't discriminated against, they didn't really manage to engage in a few aspects of university life that they wanted to, such as entering a fraternity. However, it wasn't all bad, they became good friends with their human roommate, and keep in contact today.
  14. @Zundy - How does the Eternal faith play into Wounds' life if at all? While Wounds has had interaction with the Eternal faith due to their upbringing, they personally do not believe in it. - What did Wounds' do in the legion? Were they a medic? Being a fully fledged legionnaire and not a volunteer, they were specialized as a medic. - Since they were in the legion, were they trained to fight or were they purely a sort of pacifist medic? While they were trained and equipped to fight as per TCFL standards, they personally only fought when it was necessary to defend themselves or a patient, leaving the shooting to other team members.
  15. BYOND Key: Flpfs Character Names: Laura Sari - Roboticist Phillip Smith - Surgeon John Tilap - Security Officer Isa Olob - Station Engineer Sophia Atrevin - Bartender Species you are applying to play: Dionae What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I find the concept of Dionae interesting, the biology of Dionae is really intriguing and I liked reading about it in the wiki, particularly splitting and cognitive blocks. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I will start with self-preservation, Dionae, different from Humans, are afraid of being gravely harmed because that will result in a loss of experiences and knowledge, due to them splitting. They also feel pain differently, when a part of the gestalt is injured, the nymphs of that area cry out in pain, spreading the discomfort to the rest of the gestalt. Dionae also always attempt to seek radiation in the form of light, and will always avoid darkness. Dionae can understand many languages, however, they can only speak a few of them, due to physical limitations. They possess their own language, Rootsong, described as natural sounds generated by their organs. Dionae will generally speak in a slow and paused manner, using only one nymph to speak, or speak quickly, with many nymphs speaking at once. This however, does not mean that all Dionae are limited to those two styles of speech and many Dionae, like the ones in the Biesellian Choir, will speak normally. When nymphs become more complex, they may sometimes encounter Cognitive Obstacles, akin to mental illnesses in Humans. These may cause the Dionae to chirp randomly, spasm and have bouts of paranoia. Sometimes, they may even form obstacles similar to depressive disorders, leaving the affected feeling sad and lifeless. These thoughts, if not treated, will spread to the entire gestalt, causing it to wither and die. When gestalts split into smaller forms, Splitting Disorder may occur, this leads to increased anxiety and fear of harm between the split forms. It can be cured by the forms rejoining once again or being separated for a long time, although this can cause a depressive disorder. Character Name: Mending Deep Wounds Please provide a short backstory for this character Grown at the Eternal Temple in 2449, Mending Deep Wounds was raised in Mendell’s District 11. Being mentored by a master surgeon, Helping Those In Great Pain, Wounds went on to study in the Biesel Institute of Medical Sciences, with their education being funded by the Choir. Following in their mentor’s footsteps, they aimed to become a surgeon, too. Wounds starts by working as a resident in one District 11’s hospitals to send money back to the temple and signing up for the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion as a legionnaire to gain even more medical experience. On it’s service as a legionnaire, they have mostly worked in humanitarian missions providing medical aid. However, one mission stands out. Stuck in a tense firefight inside a pirate ship in the Romanovich Cloud, Wounds and an injured legionnaire were pinned by intense fire, having to make a dash for it, they successfully escaped with their colleague in the very middle of the hallway, shots flying by. Outside of its time in the TCFL, Wounds played the saxophone in a small band with a few of it’s friends made in the Legion, sometimes even playing in one of District 7’s tajara-run casinos. NanoTrasen saw an opportunity to recruit yet another promising doctor to it’s ranks. Wounds quickly accepted the offer, seeing it as a way to provide more money back to the Choir. Having good bedside manner, a happy demeanor and a trustable background proved valuable to Wounds, leading to them being offered a posting in the NSS Aurora as a Surgeon. What do you like about this character? I like the origins of the character, being grown in the temple is something a bit uncommon, I also like the fact that the character’s in the TCFL and that will provide for some interesting roleplaying opportunities. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I’d say it’s good enough. Notes: I would like to thank Shio and Stev in the lore discord for looking at my app and helping me work on it.
  16. he do be spitting facts about dominia though
  17. @niennab 81 is a G2 frame. About it's sense of humor, it manifests mainly when interacting with it's fellow workers at cargo. Secretly ringing the desk of a distracted desk worker, placing funny hats on technicians that sleep on the job and even once dressing up as a wizard for costume day, 81 has learned from it's fellow miners on Mars that lighthearted fun is a good way to build new relationships.
  18. I think that the role of roboticist really doesn't need 2 separate titles as since there are only two slots, most of the time an alt title will have to do something outside of their specialty.
  19. While I haven't seen your other characters much, I have played with Zuka in Security as the warden and they are a very good team player and coordinator when shit hits the fan, I have no doubt that they will do very well as HoS. +1
  20. Expanding on what differs IPCs from Humans Different from Humans, the IPC is a machine designed to operate on a basis of input and output, cause and effect, without the random variable of human behaviour. That means while a Human is influenced by biases, instinct, and emotions in making in its decisions, the IPC will simply take in the information it's presented with, and react to it accordingly, this means that IPC behaviour is repeatable and will never be random, if you present the same input to the IPC, it will always give you the same output, the IPC will never behave in an odd or aberrant manner like Humans might. With self-preservation as it's top priority, the IPC will never behave in a way that will result in its certain death like a Human might do, while a Human security officer might, for example, sacrifice himself by jumping in front of a bomb to save the lives of his friends, the IPC will never do that, as that would surely result in its death. This, however, does not mean that it will never help people, while the IPC will surely save its colleague from gunfire, it will never act in a reckless manner and run towards gunfire to be a distraction. While IPCs are designed to mimic Human behaviour due to its design, it will never fully manage to do this, with degrees of success varying by the model, and even it's emotional processes will operate on its binary model. Many mannerisms and social cues are lost to IPCs, and often even IPCs designed for service occupations will sometimes have problems interacting with Humans. Also different from Humans, IPCs are purpose-made, and while over time they may learn traits or hobbies, only very rarely you will see an IPC switch its occupation. Expanding on character's backstory HHPU-1281, after being manufactured, was assigned to Mars for a year of mining as it's first posting and despite its shortcomings in socialization, 1281 attempted to talk with its coworkers during its downtime. This led to it developing a strong Martian accent and having a positive opinion about it's fellow human and unathi coworkers. 81 was the subject of constant pranks on the worksite and has developed a sense of humour some might call interesting. Two weeks before its assignment was complete, 81 and a drill technician were injured when a mining charge malfunctioned in front of them, 81 was heavily damaged, and the technician knocked out. While 81 did manage to rescue itself and its colleague, the blast caused severe damage to its chassis. Hephaestus decided that repairing the chassis was simply not worth it and just decided to sell 81 at an auction. NanoTrasen saw a profit in acquiring a highly specialized mining unit, even while it was damaged, and ended up purchasing 81. Now repaired, 81 must adapt to its change of owner and new working environment in the NSS Aurora.
  21. BYOND Key: Flpfs Character Names: Laura Sari - Roboticist John Tilap - Security Officer Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I have been interested in IPCs for a bit now, I like the lore and RP style that is totally different from playing a Human character. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: IPCs, different from humans, make every choice based on cause and effect, with self preservation as it's top priority and while they do mimic Human behavior due to their design, they will never behave as fully human. IPCs are also always designed for a purpose, making them usually unable to seek other fields of occupation other than the one they were designed for. Character Name: HHPU-1281 Please provide a short backstory for this character: Hephaestus Hazardous Prospector Unit, number 1281, is a second generation industrial frame, manufactured at the HPS Amóni, designed for mining and logistics, with it's primary focus on executing dangerous mining operations in environments that are not safe for organic life. While some may say that the HHPU line is simply generic, it is quite the opposite, HHPUs are very well designed and quite expensive, it's hardy frame being made to resist long hours of operation and punishment, this combined with advanced decision-making capabilities to avoid it's destruction in environments where a single slip can prove deadly, HHPUs are considered an expensive but lucrative investment. The area where the designers of this model did not invest much time in is interaction with organic coworkers, due to it's autonomous design. What do you like about this character? I like the fact that while HPPU appears to be cheap and simple, it is in fact a top of the line model, and while it might not be the best talker, it will surely prove itself worthy and get the job done. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would say it's good enough. Notes: None
  22. I have interacted with Haydizzle's paramedic and roboticist characters and it's always very fun to RP with them, They are no doubt ready for the whitelist and I would really like to see what they do with it ! +1
