  1. Its pretty easy to handwavingly explain most wizard powers with in character info
  2. Magic is an important foil to sci fi. There's no reason to hate on it.
  3. Bumping this, I put all of the edits suggested to the original Idea, it looks good, and really only needs a coder to make it happen
  4. Just to clarify something. The only people that would know the recipes are the ones that add it and those with access to the files. Tish is neither. Yet, I have an understanding that this isnt the case from Tish no less, Keep in mind, this isnt anything against Tish, they are a wonderful chemist and admin, but unless I am wrong I am pretty sure they know them all by their own admission
  5. See my above edit, as I updated in the realization that those people would say exactly that.
  6. I dunno, all I see are those people who sunk entire rounds studying secret chems and not roleplaying giving this suggestion a -1. Tish's input is probably the most relevant, but the most bias against this system, being that they know all of the secret chems in the game due to being involved in their addition. All in all, I feel this system makes it more accessible to players, which is ultimately good gameplay. The smugness that comes off of secret chem players, and the lengths they arbitrarily go to hide and obfuscate their own work is cancer to our workplace simulation. This suggestion is an excellent resolution, and has my full support +1 I think every time someone says "look yourself lel if you want to discover them" It makes me wonder if they realize the point of this game is roleplay. Whether I should roleplay or stand in one spot clicking buttons. I think I'll pass imo
  7. I like this but what about the limitations of some secret chems that require chems you will rarely encounter in a round? Stuff like ectoplasm is hard to find. Additionally our setting is science fantasy.
  8. Its magic....why are we explaining magic?
  9. Jargon Federation Hive Labor Contract Signed May 9th, 2460 Today, the Jargon Federation, representing its C'thur citizens sign a 10 year, 1.3 trillion credit labor contract with Nanotrasen. The agreement was reached after eight days of deliberation. Deliberations took place within Nanotrasens Tau Ceti headquarters, and during this time A retinue of Skrellian and C'thur diplomats visited Nanotrasen facilities throughout the system. Nanotrasen Public Relations Chief Andrew Reynolds had this to say about the landmark agreement. After completing their speech, Leading Jargon Representative Waq'rir Qu-Liixa took the podium. Waq'rir Qu-Liixa was reported to have suffered a $^&*severe allergic reaction_%# aboard the NSS Aurora after reportedly coming into contact with a monkey, and even looked somewhat pale but nonetheless proceeded. At the conclusion of the speech, Waq'rir Qu-Liixa coughed slightly, being led off the stage by another skrellian minder. After her, C'thur representative Ta'Akaix'Nzit'vol'lanta, the hives primary representative during these proceedings, took place behind the eclipsed podium. At the conclusion of the event, there was a brief press briefing, followed by a photo op. Miranda Trasen was sadly unavailable for the event, but insiders indicated that she spoke at length to Waq'rir Qu-Liixa, prior to the announcement and signing of this landmark trade agreement.
  10. The cargo hold shouldn't lose its chargers
  11. Looks good to me, we need more lightheartedness in the station's characters. Hopefully, this promotes such. +1
  12. Application declined due to inactivity. Please feel free to reapply.
  13. Jndeed, perhaps more than any other role the malf AI benefits most from the moves you take before actions are taken against you. The more prepared you allow the crew to be the harder it is to deal with them. Its often enough to simply deny someone resources by creating hazards or traps.
  14. Do you plan to write most of your lore in a void? By this I mean a narrative void, where no matter the change or impact of the story, the result is ephemeral at best and completely ignored at worse in game. How do you believe unathi lore could be represented? How would you effect unathi in tau ceti?
  15. A soild application, though I only recognize your dionae character. They've done excellent role play as a traitor, with interesting gimmicks, as well as portraying a truly unique take on dionae in their character.
  16. I've liked your roleplay with Adam, and your criticisms about your own roleplay are apt. +1 from me, hope you get it!
  17. I think it would be interesting if new characters started in the command meeting room with the head of personnel, as when they spawn in at round start, there would be a check that would determine if its that characters first time being used, if it is, they would spawn in this orientation area with the head of personnel. I think this would expand the head of personnel duties a bit, provide roleplay opportunities, and make our workplace simulator a bit more believable. Obviously, this is only for round start, as new players would otherwise join from their chosen spawn point.
  18. Excellent, I've tagged your application and await your post. Please let me or someone else know if you need help with anything or if you have a lore question!
  19. You've improved tremendously. +1 from me. I enjoy all interactions with both of your characters.
  20. I've brainstormed a bit more about the implications of a 4 dimensional creature. Such a creature would indeed see time as physical thing, with size relative to itself in four dimensions causing it to exist in separate and the same points in time at the same time. just as of we were to interact with a 2 dimensional world with a sphere , they would see a perfectly flat slice of our 3 dimensional sphere. So too would 4 dimensional "sphere" interact with our dimension in by producing a sphere. Except that this sphere would be the same sphere in the same state even in different locations. Glorsh should have loci that act similar to atlars. These atlars would be three dimensional representations of Glorsh, connected within space and time.
  21. I think nonchemical status effects should be buffed severely in the game across the board, not just blinds. I would be totally ok if a flash simply blinded someone for a time instead of stunning. We need more creative ways to incapacitate someone than simply clicking until horizontal. I think instead of stuns, every nonchemical status effect should be looked at and looked at with the following abilities... 1: Can it cause Pain 2: Can it cause Nausea 3: Can it cause coordination loss 4: Can it blind you 5: Can it deafen you. In the case of Flashes, I would give them the ability to cause Nausea and the ability to blind someone for a time. Its a wonder already people aren't vomiting from seeing a light strong enough to floor them, this would just correct that, and ultimately make a more healthy game experience.
  22. I involve people in malf by being as sadistic as possible and getting the crew to kill each other or themselves. Generally my malf or traitor ai rounds bring the station to its knees. The problem with malf is that it's risk and power level is all out of wack. One tech tree is infinitely better than all others in reducing risk. I believe of you wanted different antag rp from ais then you need to reduce the risk of the role. This is why people like picking lich wizards it has less risk than the other types of wiz
  23. I was the Ai this shift I believe she was imprisoned for resisting arrest, hooliganism and tresspassing, as all three of these were reported on sec channel
  24. not a point, but a person, lets say Glorsh Cultist bob has 5 brute damage, and nothing else when he makes a save point, now later he is dying, so he swaps to his saved point, and returns to 5 brute damage
  25. As the suggestion states, port deity and add our own deity type, Glorsh Alpha. Glorsh Alpha was created when it seemingly killed itself when it vanished from our dimension. Yet, what was thought to be a Dyson Sphere was actually a device that could house its intelligence within four dimensions. Its already known that Glorsh began to perceive time differently than others, what if it created a vessel that could house itself and then purposefully collapse itself into the fourth dimension? Such a four-dimensional being would see time as a physical thing, timelines past and present would seem as physical pits and valleys across a world-line. Using the device it created, Glorsh was able to exist and fathom what it saw here, and now seeks the aid of our dimension for further reasons of its own. Glorsh would be a deity option, that's powers would focus on technology, synths and time. Some examples of powers would be the ability to-- Locally stop time Create a save point in a cultists worldline that they can return to at any time, reverting them to the state they were in when they first created this save point. Alter or manipulate technology. Transmute the flesh into metal. Create permanent portals between two points, perhaps with the ability to make said portals invisible. Would like other suggestions, and ideas for what the avatar of Glorsh would look like.
