Its been a bit and no feedback. Could you get some feedback on your character? I must say, I have watched when I was on and I did not see you. Advertising in the round is another good way to get some feedback. As for your application, What do you think Tek did when they were training to be a combat engineer? Can you describe to me when Tek first realized there was a food shortage on Caprice? What were their immediate reactions?

For an antag, that's not very useful beyond causing a big boom or accidentally killing yourself.

Drop pods are the coolest thing you can spend your TC on, and part of their allure is you don't know what you can get. In actuality, however, the items spawned inside are next to useless. I suggest buffing the item list significantly, with the rarest chances to get gear that isn't normally available to traitors.

As the title says. Would be an interesting way to make dead drops.

I have some sprites of an ancient clown themed Egyptian temple. I could try to make them less meme if you wanted a tileset for this

I suggest giving the Library a Nanotrasen Museum area to showcase historical or xenoarcheological finds. You could have random spawns there, and it would be rad to finally get the complete fossil sprites ported.

I would offer specific instances but the last time you were HoS during a round I played you were murdered really early in the round. As for general help, perhaps others see your behavior as always in a rush. That s all I can think of right now, but I will keep an eye out to give some feedback

[Accepted]Chen's Tajaran Whitelist Application
Bygonehero replied to Chen Yakumo's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I have had good interactions with your characters and believe you could play a tajaran well if given the chance. The only reticence I have would have concerning this application is your intent as you made it clear playing a zoom zoom kitty EMT would be the first thing you would play. While not technically a violation, it colors perspective somewhat. Despite this, I believe your application to have a solid understanding of tajara lore, as well as enough roleplay knowhow to play them to an acceptable standard. All considerations to me are secondary to this, so either of your applications are fine with me. -
[Accepted] Sleepy's Head Whitelist
Bygonehero replied to SleepyWolf's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I have full confidence in sleepys roleplay. I believe the original decision to be egregious as it did not factor in that sleepy does this with all of his characters. There are very few rememberable characters, really. Think about how many samey HoS, Captain, CMO, and RDs there are. There are few that are understandably different, and sleepy brings this to all of their characters. As I said before, perhaps more than any other player, sleepy has a way to subvert lore in positive ways, to make really interesting, but not snowflake characters. -
[Denied] ben10083's Head of Staff Application
Bygonehero replied to ben10083's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I've enjoyed my interactions with BOB, both as its commanding AI and as crew. Beyond this, I've not met many of your other characters so its difficult for me to determine if you would be a good head of staff. I can say unequivocally you roleplay a good robot and for what its worth, support your head of staff application. I would suggest playing as IPCs more so people can get a sense of your more social roleplaying. It's difficult to convey that with a cyborg most of the time, and I believe would lead to you getting more feedback. -
The developer applications board, but you can link your application here if you wish.

Hello! If you are reading this then you more than likely have an interest in joining the lore team! Specifically as a lore deputy for everyone's favorite insectoid aliens, the Vaurca. I have been specifically controlling their development since taking up the position of lore maintainer and moving forward I expect the needs of the narrative to take up more development time in the days to come. This is where you, the prospective deputy comes in. As the foundations are laid in place with the interlocking narratives that all Vaurca lore seem to be built upon, I need people to build upon that, and give their input and work in filling out those foundations. Unlike all other species, Vaurca lore development requires a tact and understanding that you will need to work with a lot of people to develop lore. A general understanding of all lore is suggested, and good communication skills are a must. I myself have discussed topics hours on end with every single person on the lore team, and all have contributed to my work with their input in some way. Applications will follow standard developer applications found here https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=17 with one addition. Please detail a facet of the lore you think should be expanded upon, and how you would expand upon it if given opportunity.

I like it @[mention]BurgerBB[/mention] barring this, if for some reason you decide not to remap it this floor, I would just replace xenobotany with a bathroom

[Accepted] Scheveningen - Vaurca Whitelist

A solid application and an original character idea, Application accepted! -
What it says on the tin. Most, if not all objects, mobs, and tiles in the game already count germs, yet most if not all do little with this data. This allows things like syringes to be reused over and over when in reality they would only be used once. I suggest we buff germ counts to accurately convey the importance of sanitization. In general, germ counts should act like heat, moving from high concentrations of in this case germs to lower concentrations. With a base amount of germs that each object/mob/tile has. This basic number represents innate germs, those that are borne with an organism/object but have little effect on it. These innate germs are not harmful to their beginning organism but can transfer to other objects/tiles/mobs and cause infection. I believe this would be the first step in revamping virology, and the mechanics for this are already largely in place. Mechanisms that increase and decrease germ concentrations exist as washing the floors, washing your hands and chemical treatments with the former benefiting from dirty floors, blood spill vectors, unwashed hand contact. This only further solidifies these pre-existing mechanics to be more meaningful. Now you cannot use the same syringe over and over unless you want to transfer germ counts. In addition, I am aware that spaceaccilian resets germ counters to zero in mobs, which can get around these buffs, but I believe another server has found an answer to this problem in the form of immunosuppressants. Spaceaccilian does indeed still reset the germ counters of a mob to zero, but the innate germ values remain the same, and in addition, the immunosuppressant effect increases the rate that their innate germs multiply, as well as removing their immunity to them. I would like to hear thoughts about this system, as its largely unknown except for coders and some medical mains.

[Withdrawn] Burger's Developer Application
Bygonehero replied to BurgerBB's topic in Developer Applications Archives
To explain my opinion on Burger requires a metaphor. Inadvertently or not Burger helped created an environment where the average player is more aware of what is being added and changed to the game. I know they are not solely responsible, as around the time they first blanched off their contributions, development outreaches began. I cannot help but feel that their rise to recognition was prompted or affected by this. I cannot say much else about Burger beyond to say that they are feisty at times, but so is everyone who has strong options, and to me, to have such strong opinions in the first place means they care on some level about the server, and the state of the game as a whole. -
nursie's (skrell) lore dev app
Bygonehero replied to witchbells's topic in Developer Applications Archives
What do you think skrell as a species value more, personal freedoms or security? Why do you think this? How would this make their societies different than say, tau ceti? If you don't think either is mutually exclusive, explain why in this case. -
[mention]BurgerBB[/mention] While you are remapping xenobio, why not remap xenobotany? It's criminal that it's so small and less equipped than hydroponics in some ways Also, some servers have a monkey recycler, where it takes so many monkeys corpses to make a monkey cube.

Capesh's Peek at Stationbound RP Suggestions
Bygonehero replied to Capesh's topic in Completed Projects
I like this suggestion, but I believe it would be better if it worked both ways, perhaps if the brain is damaged all text the player 'hears' is stuttered and garbled, and everything they say is stuttered and garbled. -
nursie's (skrell) lore dev app
Bygonehero replied to witchbells's topic in Developer Applications Archives
A solid application, but now onto questions. Skrell themselves are in the ongoing process of reunification of all skrell colonies since the end of Glorsh. This process is stymied by various factors that ultimately create second-class citizens. Those member colonies apart of the Jargon Federation and those that are not. As the main mechanism that the outside world interacts with the skrell as a whole, the Jargon Federation is an undoubtedly important part of their lore. How do you feel about the Jargon Federation? I understand that Loow has a specific vision for them, so what is your vision for them? Finally, whats your favorite article/wiki section about skrell lore and why? -
