  1. +1 from me. Thank you for making the changes to your application. We need consistently good tajara roleplayers if we are going to change the server culture surrounding them, and as I said in my prior post, this is your single greatest strength.
  2. Re-enable minor powers to genetics. Honestly the minor powers are the most interesting ones rp wise, and have the least effect on a round.
  3. Are you aware that currently the lore team is trying and failing to actually enforce the species lore within the tajara whitelist in respect to this? Would your tajara be a good example for future whitelisted? I think this issue should be doubly important for you, as an admin and a whitelisted player you should be setting an example for others. My interactions with you have been with Phoebe alone, and most often as antag or AI. They appear overly hostile if even somewhat memey in their coldness to others. I can recall several times when horrible things were occurring on the station and Phoebe would tell off the antagonists or the victims. This isn't very believable, especially for a doctor. If there is a strength in your style of roleplay, it is consistency. Phoebe has behaved more or less the same in the entire time I have ever encountered them. If character development is so important for you, where is it, or is Phoebe perpetually crotchety cat lady? Additionally, I believe datberry hit the nail on the head, what actually qualifies this person to work on a Nanotrasen research station? It's a -1 from me until the issues stated are addressed. Primarily the issues with the tajara species lore. There's already enough meme's with them and the tajara whitelist head needs to show that there are standards for tajarans.
  4. I think we should incorporate these ideas into the construction module. Constructions not a really picked module anyway, time to change that.
  5. Huff is a great character. Please take this +1 as payment to keep Huff alive!
  6. This is pretty much a common sense thing that someone reading the wiki and has a Whitelist should know. If they color their m'sai cat black or something like that, then they should be contacted. I don't see why we need something like this to set in stone. If you play a black-blue cat, pick Zhan sub speicies, white m'sai, etc. I don't see how it makes enforcement nearly impossible, because everyone should know. It makes enforcement impossible because nobody's ever ahelped for having snowflake color cats and do you know which species loves being snowflake? Tajarians. This is basicly the administration trying to fight back against them snowflaking themselves into pink cats and if nothing is done, indeed if it's not kept in stone then people will continue to push what is acceptable and what is not. This will continue until the entire point of setting standards becomes meaningless.
  7. Why so many cat beasts, kill them all I say
  8. Agree 100% with this. He is aggressively adminning nothing more nothing less.
  9. It sounds like the geth consensus but more interesting. +1 I really like your interpretations of Vaurca. If you do get the job, could you make a cheat sheet of what players will need to keep in mind when making backstories?
  10. I would like to hear your thoughts on the nature of the Vaurca hive-mind. I personally think the term hive-mind is a misnomer, Vaurcas don't completely share consciousness. It is my personal opinion that The Vaurca 'hive-mind' is more like a giant organism. Take Zo'ra for example, with the Queen as the brain and Lesser Queens as vital organs. Worker and Warrior groups of Vaurca with a similar profession or jobs compose a Hive-cell, lesser organs in the body of Zo'ra. In this setup, Individual hive-cells can be completely ignorant of each other and still be connected. After all, a bodies immune system does not need to know what the stomach is doing to work. This is by no means canon, it's just my personal interpretation. It neatly explains Vaurca reasoning and the brutal efficiency highlighted in their species while also allowing each Vaurca to have different enjoyments and hobbies. To reiterate, what is your interpretation of the Vaurca Hive-mind? Is it pheromones? Technology? Or is it something else entirely?

  15. Let's break this down. A very real problem would be the random mutation that would eventually run rampant with repeated clonings. Consider in the lifespan of an organism that it mutates perhaps twice of any significant note. A clone would be a copy of that organism with their old mutations undergoing growth in a matter of seconds and thus mutating even further. If you started with 2 mutations, you now mutated 2 more times, meaning your clone now has 4 mutations. This can be continued ad nauseum and it's why cloning people wouldn't ever really be a thing in any science fiction. ((Keep in mind cellular growth in the games speed would reach extremely high temperatures due to the fast cellular action, probably destroying the cells in the process... but suspension of disbelief )) Star Wars solved the above problem with their clone troopers by having all clones come from one source, meaning each clone is just one iteration of the main organism and thus would not have many mutations to speak of. I think clones should come out with mutations that cause them to be impaired in some way or be beneficial. I think the problem with cloning is that(barring the soul) no one considers the moral implications that the person who died is still dead and this is just someone who thinks they are that person. I think the game should highlight this fact in how much the clone ISNT the person who died by giving them mutations or a speech impediment. Everything I have mentioned can also be cured by a competent geneticist which gives the new geneticist role on newmap more to do than sit in their lab all day.
  16. While we are at it, make PAI's emaggable and give them a self destruct command that causes a similar explosion to a PDA exploding. I really want the robocat on someone's head to explode.
  17. Pretty sure replacing soporfic with Tramadol in borg hyposprays is the best solution. Its simple, doesn't change whether or not medi borgs can do a surgery in triage situations. Soporfic is the kind of chemical you want administered in exact amounts during surgery. Other than a syringe there isn't really a better way to do that.
  18. How about giving them a specific, separate injector tool for soporific that has 1 second timer and some sort of public alert ("Now injecting soporific, please hold") that they are using it. That way, it can be quickly dispensed, and also alerts people that is what they are being injected with. There is no valid reason you should be stealth injecting people with soporific as a borg so quickly that they have no time to react. People who actually need it won't mind, and people who are already antags have to be stunned first to get sleepytime for being a bad guy. We have that it's called a syringe.
  19. I'm probably missing something but why are they issued an AI ban and not a cyborg ban? This is the first I've ever heard of not having both applied and if the case, why are they getting special treatment in this regard? Please don't think I'm being accusing, I'm just wondering whats up.
  20. My favorite themes I explored in my Vaurca application was VR, and not the happiness that they get from it, but the absolute existential horror it can create when you compare it to the real world. Imagine you have lived your life in a fantasy world, free of abject strife and darkness, poverty and suffering, free of alien mindsets and diseases and suddenly you are thrust into the "real" world with all of its failings and vagaries between happiness and sadness into an unknown alien landscape that no Vaurcan life ever considered to exist. Everything would feel wrong. Out of place. It would eat at you in some ways. Because of the nature of VR, who's to say it's not real and that the real world is some nightmare imagined by the sleeping mind? This interplay between these two ideas is fairly compelling for me at least.
  21. I really really really enjoy Kim. Any round with Kim as roboticist means a good round. +1 for me.
  22. I thought the point of the new modes was to keep the game interesting. The same thing over and over gets boring.
  23. Since you seem keener than the other applicants on keeping things as they are, what is the single most important thing that you feel needs to be changed? What would you change it to? Beyond their size and bereft of interior decorations what does a hive ship look like to you? What is the importance of the hive-ships now that Vaurca are colonizing?
  24. VR as it is written in Vaurca lore can mean a lot of things. The simplest being that VR simply shuts down the conscious mind whilst injecting a crap ton of dopaminesque chemicals into the Vaurcan brain. In this context VR is literally nothing but happiness. The person experiencing VR isn't aware of anything, they are simply happy. As I said in another dev app in a world without suffering or sadness happiness and joy become meaningless as there is nothing to compare your state to. If you see VR as a game, which game would it be? What would Vaurca do in it? Would they have different objectives or rewards depending on their job to the hive? I.E ( A miner Vaurca's VR is a mining simulation. They get rewarded Pavlov style with happy chemicals.) VR is ultimately desired by all Unbound Vaurca, are they addicted to it or the happiness it provides them? How does a Vaurca experience happiness outside of VR? Can happiness from the real world ever compare to VR happiness?
  25. While your ideas are certainly different than the other developers, you should try to sell them to us. You also mentioned managing other races on other servers. Could you give a specific example? I personally enjoy the fact that Vaurca see concepts such as honor meaningless. Vaurca at least to me aren't proud to be doing something for their hive, its so ingrained into them that acting for the hive should have as little meaning as someone appearing for work on time, it's just expected. Like I said, while I enjoy the above example, I'm not going to dismiss out of hand your vision for the species. Sell us on your vision and the rest will follow!
