I've been asked to add input during Elliot's leave of absence. This may be double dipping though, since I have to completely echo what a past CCIA head already said in this thread while they were still CCIA head, which is, I think its unnecessary. Our current directives are robust enough to cover these situations. In the intervening months since, as Ben said and OP BR202 agrees, it hasn't proven to be a problem in the past few months.

I have to echo Shame and Doxx that the current status of the actual rules are fine, but they should be added to the proper pages so that the knowledge is more commonly available and easily referenced. I've been in the situation myself before where random officers just DNC me on no authority except the desire to perma remove antags or ambitiously claim accidental deaths were suicides, so I really feel this info needs to get out there. I will ask the wiki maintainer team to do this for us according to Shame's post. We'll go with guide to medicine, MD, and CMO pages. I don't really feel a full station directive is necessary.

I've been asked to weigh in during Elliot's absence on regulations suggestions. A lot of how I feel about the suggestion has already been voiced so there's little extra I can add, but my opinion ultimately boils down to not supporting this suggestion. Brig time is a nice form of punishing players in a tangible way without completely removing them from the round. It gives them a small play area to inhabit for some tens of minutes in most cases and a stigma for being temporarily brigged for ending up there. The lack of serious mechanical consequence afterwards is good design since it doesn't completely inhibit the entire rest of their round. As it currently stands, I've never been HuT or seen someone HuT without getting solitary, so I'm very nervous about leaving fines for money no one cares about and holding someone indefinitely as the only recourse security would have for handling infractions.

There's a lot written in the application, but the general sense of lore development I get out of this is criticisms of Eridani and maintenance of the status quo. While I am a real conservative in the field of avoiding retcons or making large sweeping rewrites and changes, I do have to ask what lore developments you would like to see if you were to become a human developer. Any concrete modifications to any factions? Any additions? Any changes to interstellar diplomacy? How many deputies would you hire if any? Would you re-nuke Earth again? Any changes you would like to make between human relations and various species? Discussion on demographics, ethnostates, legacy work still in lore, and preemptive apologetics about staff team concerns aren't bad additions to your application, but I really want to get a firm grasp on what you would add or change.

Hello! I've read your application and I will be leaving feedback before making a judgement on it. I'm not really a big fan of the proposed race, or either of the subspecies. I like the idea of the NBT adding something new and frankly freaky and disturbing, but while reading I was constantly aware of a sort of "vaurca" vibe, namely I felt that it infringes on the territory of the themes of the vaurca and that its niche is already fulfilled. The Taung just seem like Vaurca warriors and the overall society just kind of makes me think of the Lii'dra. I do appreciate that a strong effort is made to make them more of a transhuman biological lifeform with seemingly more flesh than metal, but the religion bit kind of reminds me of just older vaurcae lore, which while I miss, just doesn't come off as feeling original here. I'd rather steer clear. On the subject of the new human faction proposed though, I really like it. The parallels to the Balkan wars are strong, and heck, it doesn't take a genius to see all those southern slavic names and "Belkan" and think, "hmmm, is this an allegory?" I feel like the Sol Alliance stands in for the United States/NATO here, and frankly, I think its by far the stronger of the two lores you have in your app. The Peoples Federations Of Srjbelka is cool as hell, and I really feel like the only slavic representation on server is stereotyped Russians, so southern slavic representation is something fresh and interesting that I can't help but feel excited for. It's not without flaws though. It's become a meme of sorts that every new human dev or deputy tries to add a new faction of their own to the mix, usually with some novel take. Do you feel that this is a worthy addition when we already have many filling the roster of human factions? Do you feel it will be relevant to lore updates and plot arcs, or would it maybe be better be used by the current frontier system where players can already auto-canonize their own frontier origins? Do we need this on the wiki? While the Srjbelka portion is far better written, it's formatting is kind of strange here. The white highlighting and red text is stylistic, so I'm assuming its intentional. I couldn't help but notice that Procyoni had some typos and formatting mistakes, and even mispellings. Lord knows our wiki is already filled with similar errors, but a degree of proof reading is important and this application has been sitting for awhile with plenty of time to re-read and edit.

The Second Iron Crusade To Purge Abominations High Priest Unzi has declared a new campaign will be undertaken against the so-called Aut’akh that have revealed themselves and their base of operations in the north pole. Unzi is calling the campaign the “Second Iron Crusade”, in reference to the actions that saw the destruction of the Akhanzi Order only a year ago. Chapter Master Nu'gha has been appointed by Unzi to oversee the punitive expedition north. Nu’gha lead forces in the first crusade that saw dozens of cult strongholds in the mountains put to the torch and he was instrumental in several sieges of mountain temples. High Priest Unzi gave a speech describing the upcoming expedition. Chapter Master Nu’gha is believed to be rallying his expeditionary force somewhere near the Mimba Sea. Hundreds of volunteers from nearby villages have brought his forces to number in the thousands. Nu’gha also has in his employ six helicopters and several armored transports. Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski confirmed that he met with additional envoys from the northern heathens who entered the Izweski Citadel in secrecy to avoid violence. Not’zar Izweski said that the delegation would remain in his citadel “until we finish discussions.” No known deals or treaties have been made. There is incredible backlash towards the Lord-Regent with angry citizens throwing rocks at the citadel’s Guwan Guard, with local leaders and residents demanding the expulsion or destruction of the Aut’akh delegates. In addition Maraziites have taken up positions around the Citadel, apparently waiting to apprehend them the moment they emerge. Not’zar Izweski gave a speech from his balcony in response, which was televised across the Hegemony. In it, Not’zar Izweski stressed the importance of dialogue. “We must seek to understand why they have chosen their path. As residents of Moghes, they have the right to speak to the Hegemon and those that speak in his name. And they will continue to speak to me for as long as it pleases me.” Worryingly, in orbit of Moghes the incomplete 3rd Fleet commanded by Admiral Za'Akaix'Xitac Klax, the first ever Vaurca leader within the Hegemony, has released publically that a series of unidentified flying objects were detected taking off from the north pole of Moghes. Admiral Xitac gave a statement on the matter.

As detective, which is my favorite role these days, I've only used my gun twice as a nonantag. Once was to shoot a dog that was killing me, and the other was a "WAWNING SHOT" to break up civil unrest in departures. Because I know I have a lethal weapon, I avoid all combat and let security officers handle all arrests, but having the Tsar in mt holster is my defence if antags try to single me out for my investigations. In short, its a last line of defence which is used appropriately sparingly, and I would really prefer no change. As an antag I've never been validhunted by a detective and I never see it happening.

Monarchists Depart Amohda, Noble Warriors Have our Salute! The day is the twenty-seventh of December 2460, and talks between the Supreme Commander and diplomats of the New Kingdom of Adhomai have ended. Fourteen days ago the provisional junta at Amohda was approached by diplomats of Mrraka'te'almalik Klyuchevksy seeking honorable ceasefire to withdraw all 58 Alam'ardii to the Kingdom's homelands. Soon the Supreme Commander and diplomats of the King in Kaltir took over negotiations. The fight against monarchism and imperialism on Adhomai began in 2450 with the secession of the New Kingdom from the rightful republic of Al'mari Hadii. Agitators and influencers roused the passions of the locals on the island who were once part of the proud and noble Amohdan Empire. While much of the island was quickly taken by neo-imperalists, it was not long before the tragic assassination of Al'Mari and the rise of his close friend and righteous successor, the honorable prophet Nated'Hakhan, saw much of the island take up the banner of the Liberation Army. While much of the island was liberated, the noble warriors of the New Kingdom were famous for the remarkable honor, and yet also their refusal to ever surrender. Patrols of the regional Amohda Junta were frequently attacked by M'sai swordsmen, long descended from the noble warrior class of the ancient Amohdan Empire. Their lamellar armors handed down for generations cut an imposing figure in ambushes, both day and night, as they fought with unprecedented tenacity for their cause and ruthlessly cut down our brave troops. As Liberation soldiers cleared out monarchist terror cells in villages and cities, the ground was always stained in the blood of unwavering last stands or honorable suicides. Of all theaters, none held a tougher fight than the crop paddies and forests of Amohda. Despite the desperate and traumatic fighting, the likes which righteous partisans of the ALA frequently have always inflicted on others yet never had to endure themselves, the Liberation Army has finally emerged victorious. Peace talks began with discussing the possibility of honorable withdrawal, but as Supreme Command Nated'Hakhan met with diplomats of the King in a manor outside of Amohda, soon he was convinced of the deserving of great mercies for the New Kingdom. The temporary ceasefire for withdrawal instead became an indefinite ceasefire as talks frequently turned to mutual disdain for the dishonorable and illegitimate government in Nal'Tor. Exchanges of mutual friendship and admiration of the shared dignity and respect for tajaran traditions which both the New Kingdom and Liberation Army share filled cigar smoked rooms, and fermented Earthen Root vodka was served as former enemies became comrades. Several distinguished soldiers of the ALA were awarded medals of the "Alam'ard of Merit 3rd Grade," a lifetime society of distinguished tajara in the NKA. Likewise a number of Amohdan partisans who died fighting for their cause were posthumously awarded "Champion of Tajara" awards from Supreme Commander Nated'Hakhan himself, who applauded their bravery and conviction. While the war between the New Kingdom and the Democratic People's Republic of Adhomai is still formally on-going, the New Kingdom has agreed to cease all hostilities with the DPRA. In exchange the DPRA has agreed to cease all piracy and hostilities against the NKA, as well as to allow the departing Mrraka'te'almalik Klyuchevksy to take with him all monarchy loving tajara who do not want to remain in the DPRA. The transportation of all those who wish to leave is an endeavor which will take place over the window of six months, to ensure that all who wish to leave will have ample time to make their decision to depart. The Liberation News Network salutes the honorable and brave warriors of the New Kingdom! And echoing the sentiments of the Supreme Commander and Prophet, hope this indefinite ceasefire may bloom into lasting peace.

Recently an applicant asked me about the timeframe of when we can expect a human lore dev to be added to the team. For full disclosure I wanted to let everyone know that I'm looking to make my decision in early to mid January, however, if Jackboot and I feel that there are no acceptable applicants the process will continue until a suitable candidate is found.

I feel like tajaran academic librarians is a new meme that's starting to crop out, possibly started by my ALA loyal Vahzirthaamro Malithramrar, and recently in another whitelist application. Is this the new paradigm shift form zhan peasant miner? I really feel like I've received a clear picture about Nnrardonov's character here. I have a strong sense of his history, his personality, and his convictions, or possibly lack thereof. Considering the NKA as an extension of the old monarchies, he has personally experienced strife and even war against all possible factions. Personally what really stuck out to me was that he served a lengthy prison sentence and didn't conveniently somehow escape or get bailed out or anything. The fact that he actually spent years in prison for ties to rebels as well as the fact that he really fits the bill for many who were convinced the join the ALA by their love of Al'Mari really speaks to me. Giving in under interrogation was a nice touch. Whitelist accepted.

There's a lot of material about the history of what happened around Anastasia Artyom[ovna?] and the events surrounding her life, but I feel like personal details are missing. The bits about going off into the hills and selling scrap war material was a really good touch, as well as essentially becoming a serf farmer for her local ALA junta for some time. I do want to say that the events surrounding her life are lore abiding and flavorful, and I do like that she has a pretty sour opinion about the PRA and ALA, namely the fact that you infused actual convictions into your character, but I would like a sentence or two about her non-political likes and dislikes. As she was studying for Tau Ceti basic did she find enjoyment in reading? Does she feel that manual labor is for the birds? Did the progression of events strenghten/weaken any religious views? The farmers of her village were rounded up and shot, did this include her family? I get a feel implications about her character, namely that you say she wants to become a librarian possibly makes me think she likes literature, but I think a word or two on maybe her first time reading a book or maybe she did some creative writing that made her realize she likes literature, would severely strengthen her character and lend personality.

I'll be ruling on this tomorrow.
