Voting for dismissal. The decision to not map in stairs was quite intentional. If the elevators are broken, then there are quite a few other ways to traverse z-levels: Stationary, mapped in, Ladders Portable Ladders Hoists Jetpack Rigs with leg actuators Jumping down and crying for medical Generally, if the elevators are broken, then it adds a interesting aspect to gameplay. Deal with it in one way or another.

[Resolved] Alberyk, vampires and MG
Arrow768 replied to Nebirots's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Cargo Incident, Vamp 1 I was playing the captain this round and going about my departmental inspections, when vamp1 (the qm) captured me in cargo. He straitjacketed me, succd me and shoved me in a locker. Afer a while in there I pressed resist assuming that it would only shake the locker once, but once you have done that you shake the locker until you get out. ((I fucked that part up. Sorry to the guy who was playing the QM that round)) I got out of the locker eventually and managed to escape cargo. It is important to note that if you are succd by a vamp you get a message something along the lines of: "You remember nothing, just having a pleasant interaction with vamp" So all I remembered about that interaction was the QM helping me out of the locker. And that is also what I told over the sec channel when asked what has happened. Vamp2, Yahir Jones Security looked into the PDA messages Yahir Jones (unknown at the time that he was a vamp) received from Vamp1 and they found a message from the QM telling him that he should look at something in cargo. Going down the road, that someone needs to be arrested because they received a PDA message from someone who has been processed by security is sketchy. That message could also have been something to lure them into the area to have another target to succ on. Security didnt have any further evidence to proof that Jones was somehow involved in the kidnapping, beyond a message he got from his superior that he should come and look at something. Bloodbags in the medbay. He has been arrested by security, interrogated and they dealt with it. Case closed. The CMO asked for security because Jones refused to leave the medbay. So I walked over and ordered him to leave it if he is not injured, which he did without any problems. Therefore no briggable offence here. As explained, the AI cant see over cams that he is biting or choking him. All the AI saw was two people entering a bathroom. Security arrived to the scene and there was no evidence of foul play despite your comment that they "are doing weird shit" in the bathroom. Again, there is no charge in the corporate regulations that would allow to arrest two people entering a bathroom. The AI then mentioned that the medical resident is lifting weights because Jones said so. I dont see a brigable offence here either. Why does one need to be arrested because he told someone to lift weights ? Around that time the AI started screaming repeatedly at security that he needs to be arrested. When asked about what regulations he violated you were unable to answer that question. Everything so far has been investigated and dealt with by security. What caused that ahelp I ahelped because the AI was acting in a very validhunty way and extremely focused on getting a single player. It even went so far as to order security to arrest someone and repeatedly scream over the security channel. You were unable to produce any evidence regarding what has happened. All you had was people entering bathrooms together and that Jones asked someone to lift weights and they did it. The AI is in no position to order the arrest of anyone. It is a tool to assist the station with general tasks. A AI screaming over coms, like you did, to have someone arrested and then unable to present charges why they should be arrested is, in my opinion, breaking AI roleplay. (I am sure the admins could look up the logs if needed) Also, going by your own testimony here: You were entirely focusing on a single crew member, listening into conversations they had, .... This is absolutely valid hunting. Regarding the evidence you had: Jones receiving a PDA message from his superior that he should look at something in a locker - Dealt with by security Jones allegedly drinking blood from bloodpacks in the medbay - Arrested, Interrogated and dealt with by security. Jones going into the bathroom with someone Parts of a conversation where Jones asks someone to lift weights Parts of a conversation where Jones talks about "power" Its very sketchy at best to order the arrest of someone because they have entered the bathroom with someone, asked someone to lift weights and talked about power. -
I'm pretty sure that's planned for the future. Pretty far off though I think. Persistent Economy is indeed something that is planned.

The upcoming cargo system To explain the additional ideas I had for cargo, I have to expand a bit on what cargo is going to become after the completion of this dev cycle. Instead of cargo being based on crates and supply points, cargo will be based on items and credits. A crew member can order individual items, that will be placed in a crate and then shipped to the station the usual way. Cargo will be billed for the items, the shipment cost, the crate, ... They then have to bill the crew member for these items, if they dont want to run out of money. (Or they can send so many items back to central, that they can just afford not to bill the crew) In addition, there will be the possibility to order items from different suppliers. Different suppliers might offer the same item with a different price and different properties. Its up to the crew members that place these orders to decide where to order them from (Ofc cargo can still approve / reject orders) That is, in its very essence, what cargo is going to look like after this dev cycle. Some more ideas for cargo. (Start here if you know what new cargo is about) Now I would like to expand on that idea a bit further. Instead of the ordered items coming to the station, cargo has to go to the suppliers to get the items from them. Cargo will receive its own, controllable shuttle. The cargo department would be remapped a bit and integrated with arrivals / departures and become transportation. It would be turned into a hub where all the shuttles (with the exception of the ccia shuttle) dock and crew goes in and out to pickup items, come to / leave work. These changes would open up the following options Different suppliers, looking for specific items and paying for them. Maybe a integration with the trader, where the trader has the option to teleport to, and assume the role of a supplier if cargo is on the way there. Additional Shuttle destinations for cargo that can be enabled and used for events Mechanics for the cargo shuttle, where you have to refuel it (either with fuel mined at the station or from a refueling station) Add a way to smuggle items off / on the station that shouldn't be on the station. Give more meaning to the security checkpoint as an actual checkpoint to control who / what is coming in / out of the station. Let me know what you think about it.

I dont really like the suggestion. ERT is usually a last ditch effort if shit is hitting the fan. If you go so far that ERT is needed, then you need to either prepare for it in advance or deal with the consequences. Nuke Ops has a good chance to deal with the ERT if they are prepared. (And it can be expected from them to prepare themselfs, if they escalate it to ERT) If a ERT Call is unwarranted, then admins should deal with that instead of buffing the Antags to be able to easily take on ERT. They really dont need another buff. Therefore voting for dismissal. I should also mention, that since the implementation of the Antag contracts, there has always been the idea to move the traitors items from costing telecrystals to costing money. In case you complete contracts, you can spend the money you made by completing the contract in the next round. If you acquire more money by any means, then you will be able to buy more items. But that is something for a different suggestion.

[Resolved] Character complaint against Alicia Forest
Arrow768 replied to Knightroid's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Yes, I noticed it in a round after the 11.Sept. A engineer requested that the captain refuses the tesla to be setup (out of fear that it might be released again). The captain ordered that the tesla may only be setup if supervised by a CE (who was not present at the time). Forest was very insistant about setting it up, but understood it after a lengthy talk with the captain. Imho, that is nothing that could not be handled ICly with a ban from the tesla and forced psych visits. -

According to the chaplain and the janitor, Mr. Lazarski (Assigned as Security Cadet) used the present code blue to gain entry into the chaplains office, while the chaplain was talking to the janitor. Mr. Lazarski repeatedly made racial comments towards them, even after they informed him that his conduct is not becoming of a security cadet. He proceeded to "search" the chaplain and removed his cane after the search. He however did not notice, inquired about or confiscated the spear the janitor was wearing at the time. When asked by the chaplain why he removed his cane, he mentioned something like "that he can do it because he is security" After this incident has been reported to me, I inquired with security where Mr. Lazarski is. The stationbound security unit informed me, that he is currently in mining stealing diamonds. Detective Tylor, Officer Kasperi and myself went to the scene as soon as possible. The stationbound unit has bolted the access door to mining to prevent his escape from the area. As we arrived, I saw him smashing down the window in an attempt to return to stolen goods in time before our arrival. I ordered the officer to search him and without surprise the officer found the diamons on him. The cadet then claimed that the stationbound unit planted the diamond sheets on him and that the AI was rouge and he entered cargo to investigate it. Due to the fact that stationbound security units are physically unable to place diamonds in someone's backpack, I immediately dismissed his attempt to wiggle out of the situation and ordered his detainment for: Two counts of theft (He stole the chaplains cane and diamonds from cargo) Exceeding of official powers (He used his position as security cadet and the code blue to gain access into places and steal various items from employees) Vandalism (Smashing in a Window in an attempt to return the stolen goods before he is discovered) In addition to these charges, he has been suspended for the remainder of the shift (about 5 minutes before the shuttle arrived on the station) The next shift, he was assigned as bartender About 30 minutes into the shift, he started to announce that everyone that visits the bar will receive illegal drugs in addition to their order. I asked detective Noir to investigate this and then followed up with a search warrant. The search has been performed by Officer Ss'rite Ketriss, who found the drugs within his backroom He has been detained and requested to appeal his case to me. During his appeal he mentioned that the pill bottle (Labeled Highly Illegal Pills) were not his and were planted by the officer. The detective had already confirmed that they contain space drugs and sugar. He also mentioned that he never touched them, however the detective presented a fingerprint card taken from the pill bottle with his prints on it. Due to him announcing the distribution of Narcotics over coms and actually distributing Narcotics he has been suspended for the remainder of the shift. In addition, the bar Pet, PunPun has been found crushed in the crusher. A investigation into this matter uncovered that the janitors prints were also located on the pill bottle. Initially the bartender and the janitor claimed that the bartender has sold the bar monkey for money (and claimed that he has a receipt for it) to the janitor, but the accounts terminal showed no withdrawals or depositions on the bartenders or janitors account and the search for the bar and the bartender uncovered no money on the bartender or in the bar. Which led us to believe, that the janitor has found the pill bottle in maint, sold it to the bartender for the bar monkey and then used the bar monkey to test the effects of the crusher on living beings. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: No IAA Present Actions taken: Detainment by security, Suspension (Both Incidents) Additional notes: His constant abuse of his power and violation of regulations, attempts to lie himself out of any situation to avoid punishment (even when presented with proper evidence), hostile attitude towards other species and ineffectiveness of traditional punishments forced me to file this report with CCIA. I do not believe that there is any action or punishment that could be applied stationside to correct his behaviour.

I´ve read through the post again and noticed, that you mostly mention issues. I´d be interested in what you think should be done to solve the mentioned issues.

Summon Bats / Bears has gotten a buff recently in dev. There wont be another buff until these changes are live and there is still a need to change that. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/3348
-
Edit: Wrong Topic
-
The damage of frag grenades has been reduced in dev about two weeks ago. Further reductions will not happen until these changes are live. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/3322 Therefore voting for dismissal
-
The AI moving to storage and a new one being downloaded into the core already has its own announcement afaik.
-
If you intent this to be a new species, then as per current policy the mechanics of that species need to be completely different to warrant the addition of a new species (and even then its no guarantee) or a existing species needs to be retired.
-
As pointed out already. Please stick to the rule of 1 suggestion per topic. Regarding the suggestion. I am not a huge fan of it. It might work, but it can get very lonely if you are in a department with just a few staff members. While going out to meet others is a nice thought, it doesnt solve the issue that you are here to perform a job. In addition, certain antags need a common channel. If you think about raiders / mercs that took a hostage. While they might be able to just communicate that directly over the command frequency, it just restricts another part of the gameplay to "command only". I really loved the rounds where the antags took a few hostages and had the crew hold a vote who should be killed an who should live. (I think they even set up a video livestream of it to the bar entertainment monitors) Stuff like that would no longer be possible. Having said all that, I would support a heavier enforcement of "common channel for important stuff" in game. Maybe with a easy option to block certain people from using tcoms, that are extensively spamming the common channel. But that would be something for another topic.
-
If a captain goes against your advice and calls ERT when its not needed, then you should ahelp them. But setting a arbitrary time limit on being able to call ERT is imho not the solution to the problem.
-
Voting for dismissal. It already requires two command staff members to get a ERT. This is enough of a restriction. I should also note that I never saw ERT being called to supplement ones security department. I.e. Mercs show up. ERT is called. ERT + Sec fight mercs It´s usually only called when most of security is taken out.
-
The meeting room on the surface level is almost always used by CCIA. It is rarely ever used by the captain or command staff. (Mainly because its so out of the way, which also makes it ideal for CCIA) But yes, generally I´d like to see improvements made to the captains office. Maybe swap it with the command meeting room on the main level ?

[2 Dismissals; Archive: 08.09] Job: Command Assistant
Arrow768 replied to Butterrobber202's topic in Archive
Voting for Dismissal, as every Head of Staff can already recruit and promote personnel in their own department. (i.e. Medical Receptionist, ...) And the Captain / Command as a whole can decide to select someone as command assistant. EDIT: We also have regular command assistants on the manifest. -
At least in Autria we have equality laws forcing corps over a specific size to employ disabled people or pay a fine. So Corporations do employ disabled people, even if its just for the sake of not having to pay a fine.
-
Vetod by one of the headmin. Therefore archiving. It should be noted however that there is currently a open suggestion that adds the possibiltiy that loyalty implants get disabled by (multiple) EMPs
-
Once thats merged we should see more vampires around. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/3337 (Adds two gamemodes with vampires to mixed secret) Moving this to completed projects
-
As explain by OP, it only slightly limits the antags. But it will limit the unauthorized use of weapons by crew members outside of science. I very much like the idea of pins that only work on a certain alert level / under certain conditions. I also like the possibility that it is now possible to sabotage weapons almost unnoticeable to the person using them, until its too late. Therefore I completely support the addition of firing pins.
-
I´m wondering, can you dna swab a vomit puddle right now ? If that is possible I dont see much issues with adding it, cause then its easy enough to track them via ic means.
-
Afaik we do not have replicator (energy to matter conversion) technology in our lore.

This suggestion has been brought up quite a few times. I still feel that this would severely upset game balance because the Ai would gain camera vision aswell. A officer only needs to get a word out, and the AI could locate them instantly, inform security who the attacker is and direct them to their location. There are other issues aswell, but the AI gaining cam vision is one of the biggest
