Ckey/BYOND Username: Arrow768 Position Being Applied For: Human Lore Dev Past Experiences/Knowledge: Nothing of note. Some minor consultations in the past. If you were chosen for Lore Developer, what would your plans be for Humans ? At the request of Jackboot I am also currently working on a few adaptions to phoron that will better explain its properties and provide more interactions for the crew (phoron refinement, ...) In addition I would focus on and the relations between the existing mega corps and open a new story arc involving corporate espionage and sabotage: Companies try and steal their trade secrets from each other (NT is a fat target with their phoron technology) Companies will form alliances with each other They will use other parties to do their bidding for them. (Syndicate, ATLAS, ...) Prevention of sabotage as well as information extraction becomes important There will be a few events, such as away missions to "salvage" research from a competitors station "that has suffered an accident" Would you embark on major or minor rewrites of Human lore? If yes, why is your rewrite worth it?: No, there would be no major rewrites as the human lore is currently in a very interesting position. Additional Comments: I would like to work with another human loredev as humanity is a very large topic. I also used the Vaurca application template and adapted it since its more fitting.

You can already specify any religion you want via the "other" option. Feel free to do so. Other than that, why do we need to shove yet another religion into the directly selectable options ?

Supporting the dismissal of this suggestion. This will be archived if not vetoed by a developer by 2017-10-12

Sorry, but no. This would just become "Greytide, the gamemode. Now with hulk powers. Because normal greytide is not bad enough" Therefore voting for dismissal. Edit: Just saw your note in the title. I could see this happen as a one off event that might happen once (But even then, there might be better event ideas)

I can see both sides of allowing a player to delete or not to delete the records of their own chars. It would prevent constant troublemakers from just voiding whatever they have done. However, its important to consider that not every action (even as non Antag) is canon as Antags may have influenced their decisions. The only "safe" solution would be to allow entries only on extended rounds, but that is not really feasible. Therefore I´d suggest the following solution: Allow Heads of Staff to add permanent records via the employment console. (Might just do the same for medical while I am at it) Add two buttons to the WI that allow the Player to request a review of a entry by IA or Server Staff (For both cases a reason is required) Only IA will have the option to mark all entries as invalid (and that only ICly) Entries marked as invalid, still show up, but with the note that the record has been invalidated by IA Entries removed by staff do not show up Ingame (CCIA will have the option to choose between invalidating or removing) We should also get some input from Sharp and Garnascus

Fixed a typo in one of the rules

[...]There's no point to adding brainmed if doctors can forego effort to save someone by just throwing them into a tube and pressing two buttons.[...] Please dont do the same thing you accused Jackboot of: Putting words into my mouth that I have never said. To make it clear: If cloning is readded, then it will be require multiple steps and there will be sideeffects to it (that a good medical team is able to treat with some effort) But it wont be: Corse in tube. Press button. Wait for treatment to finish
-
We talked about this a bit in the dev channel. Cloning will not be removed right out. We are looking into changing the medical system to brainmed. It should be noted that there will be a few changes to it, maybe even the option to revive braindead personell with extensive treatment. And possibly some tweaks to certain chemicals. (So that the rescue borg is not completely useless.) But until that is implemented I am voting for dismissal of (yet another incarnation) of that suggestion.
-
I am not in favor of that suggestion for the following reasons: I don't see a infection going to the point that you need to amputate a limb within a timeframe of a few hours. While you have the option to prepare for almost anything as antag, packing additional gear to prepare for these issues you might encounter will reduce the amount of other gear you can carry It also increases the difficulty for antags much more than it does for a sec officer that tries to rush mercs / heisters with a batton. (The officer can just be sent off to the medbay for treatment, surgery, ... Antags usually dont have that option.) Therefore voting for dismissal

Reminds me of this suggestion: No, we dont need redshirts. (With or without full health) Therefore voting for dismissal

You can already open a tank with a wrench which causes its contents to leak out.

Stay on topic. This topic is about borgs falling over when they are dead and not about borgs being able to send PMs when the cell is taken out. Regarding the former. As mentioned already: We have a lot of borgs that dont use legs and I dont see why all those borgs should suddenly "fall over" when they area dead. You can always examine a borg to check if it is dead. Unless someone provides good sprites for the death state for all borgs, I am voting for dismissal

Moving two the bin as two devs voted for dismissal.
-
Hm, I am not exactly sure about it. On one hand side I like that idea. But then I think that could be policed icly very easily.
-
Exactly. If you want to do these things, then you can already do so. But that only works if you have a competent medical team. If you have doctors that dont even move themselfs to cryo, then the best system is useless.

Antags get AOOC to coordinate if they wish to do so. I do not see a advantage in returning a gamemode that just plays one of a few hard coded reasons that should get people to rebell. Admins can help you if you need announcements from central. Regarding: We dont have win conditions enabled. For all that above I am voting for dismissal

[2 Dismissals: Archived] Laser Weapon Ammunition
Arrow768 replied to Outboarduniform's topic in Archive
Hm, at first I thought it would be a interesting idea. But this would turn laser weapons into just another reskin of ballistics. I could see this implemented for a few special guns. But not all across the board. Therefore supporting the vote for dismissal -
I also dont see a reason why you cant emote that. Therefore voting for dismissal aswell

Voting for dismissal. The decision to not map in stairs was quite intentional. If the elevators are broken, then there are quite a few other ways to traverse z-levels: Stationary, mapped in, Ladders Portable Ladders Hoists Jetpack Rigs with leg actuators Jumping down and crying for medical Generally, if the elevators are broken, then it adds a interesting aspect to gameplay. Deal with it in one way or another.

[Resolved] Alberyk, vampires and MG
Arrow768 replied to Nebirots's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Cargo Incident, Vamp 1 I was playing the captain this round and going about my departmental inspections, when vamp1 (the qm) captured me in cargo. He straitjacketed me, succd me and shoved me in a locker. Afer a while in there I pressed resist assuming that it would only shake the locker once, but once you have done that you shake the locker until you get out. ((I fucked that part up. Sorry to the guy who was playing the QM that round)) I got out of the locker eventually and managed to escape cargo. It is important to note that if you are succd by a vamp you get a message something along the lines of: "You remember nothing, just having a pleasant interaction with vamp" So all I remembered about that interaction was the QM helping me out of the locker. And that is also what I told over the sec channel when asked what has happened. Vamp2, Yahir Jones Security looked into the PDA messages Yahir Jones (unknown at the time that he was a vamp) received from Vamp1 and they found a message from the QM telling him that he should look at something in cargo. Going down the road, that someone needs to be arrested because they received a PDA message from someone who has been processed by security is sketchy. That message could also have been something to lure them into the area to have another target to succ on. Security didnt have any further evidence to proof that Jones was somehow involved in the kidnapping, beyond a message he got from his superior that he should come and look at something. Bloodbags in the medbay. He has been arrested by security, interrogated and they dealt with it. Case closed. The CMO asked for security because Jones refused to leave the medbay. So I walked over and ordered him to leave it if he is not injured, which he did without any problems. Therefore no briggable offence here. As explained, the AI cant see over cams that he is biting or choking him. All the AI saw was two people entering a bathroom. Security arrived to the scene and there was no evidence of foul play despite your comment that they "are doing weird shit" in the bathroom. Again, there is no charge in the corporate regulations that would allow to arrest two people entering a bathroom. The AI then mentioned that the medical resident is lifting weights because Jones said so. I dont see a brigable offence here either. Why does one need to be arrested because he told someone to lift weights ? Around that time the AI started screaming repeatedly at security that he needs to be arrested. When asked about what regulations he violated you were unable to answer that question. Everything so far has been investigated and dealt with by security. What caused that ahelp I ahelped because the AI was acting in a very validhunty way and extremely focused on getting a single player. It even went so far as to order security to arrest someone and repeatedly scream over the security channel. You were unable to produce any evidence regarding what has happened. All you had was people entering bathrooms together and that Jones asked someone to lift weights and they did it. The AI is in no position to order the arrest of anyone. It is a tool to assist the station with general tasks. A AI screaming over coms, like you did, to have someone arrested and then unable to present charges why they should be arrested is, in my opinion, breaking AI roleplay. (I am sure the admins could look up the logs if needed) Also, going by your own testimony here: You were entirely focusing on a single crew member, listening into conversations they had, .... This is absolutely valid hunting. Regarding the evidence you had: Jones receiving a PDA message from his superior that he should look at something in a locker - Dealt with by security Jones allegedly drinking blood from bloodpacks in the medbay - Arrested, Interrogated and dealt with by security. Jones going into the bathroom with someone Parts of a conversation where Jones asks someone to lift weights Parts of a conversation where Jones talks about "power" Its very sketchy at best to order the arrest of someone because they have entered the bathroom with someone, asked someone to lift weights and talked about power. -
I'm pretty sure that's planned for the future. Pretty far off though I think. Persistent Economy is indeed something that is planned.

The upcoming cargo system To explain the additional ideas I had for cargo, I have to expand a bit on what cargo is going to become after the completion of this dev cycle. Instead of cargo being based on crates and supply points, cargo will be based on items and credits. A crew member can order individual items, that will be placed in a crate and then shipped to the station the usual way. Cargo will be billed for the items, the shipment cost, the crate, ... They then have to bill the crew member for these items, if they dont want to run out of money. (Or they can send so many items back to central, that they can just afford not to bill the crew) In addition, there will be the possibility to order items from different suppliers. Different suppliers might offer the same item with a different price and different properties. Its up to the crew members that place these orders to decide where to order them from (Ofc cargo can still approve / reject orders) That is, in its very essence, what cargo is going to look like after this dev cycle. Some more ideas for cargo. (Start here if you know what new cargo is about) Now I would like to expand on that idea a bit further. Instead of the ordered items coming to the station, cargo has to go to the suppliers to get the items from them. Cargo will receive its own, controllable shuttle. The cargo department would be remapped a bit and integrated with arrivals / departures and become transportation. It would be turned into a hub where all the shuttles (with the exception of the ccia shuttle) dock and crew goes in and out to pickup items, come to / leave work. These changes would open up the following options Different suppliers, looking for specific items and paying for them. Maybe a integration with the trader, where the trader has the option to teleport to, and assume the role of a supplier if cargo is on the way there. Additional Shuttle destinations for cargo that can be enabled and used for events Mechanics for the cargo shuttle, where you have to refuel it (either with fuel mined at the station or from a refueling station) Add a way to smuggle items off / on the station that shouldn't be on the station. Give more meaning to the security checkpoint as an actual checkpoint to control who / what is coming in / out of the station. Let me know what you think about it.

I dont really like the suggestion. ERT is usually a last ditch effort if shit is hitting the fan. If you go so far that ERT is needed, then you need to either prepare for it in advance or deal with the consequences. Nuke Ops has a good chance to deal with the ERT if they are prepared. (And it can be expected from them to prepare themselfs, if they escalate it to ERT) If a ERT Call is unwarranted, then admins should deal with that instead of buffing the Antags to be able to easily take on ERT. They really dont need another buff. Therefore voting for dismissal. I should also mention, that since the implementation of the Antag contracts, there has always been the idea to move the traitors items from costing telecrystals to costing money. In case you complete contracts, you can spend the money you made by completing the contract in the next round. If you acquire more money by any means, then you will be able to buy more items. But that is something for a different suggestion.
