How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Since Late November of 2018.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I would like to help teach new players, help guide the station and prevent it from collapsing onto itself, and I was encouraged to do it again.

Why did you come to Aurora?: I came to Aurora because a friend of my, UnknownMurder, and enjoyed all the interactions on the server. It is great fun.

Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?:  I have and I recall them well since last time.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Several, three severe warnings and four regular warnings, from when I was being foolish and the likes. I have learned my lessons. If people want to discuss them, feel free ask me about them, I have nothing to hide.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Okay.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: My definition has not changed as much like before. "Roleplay is like theater, you immerse yourself as your character, you take on their personality and background to help articulate your character to other characters ingame. As you articulate your character to others, you help formulate stories, friendships, and undergo the hardships of your character goes through. You develop a work-like atmosphere with others while enjoying yourselves. That is what role-play is like to me."

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Like previously, my definition has not changed as much since it still rings true. "The OOC purpose of a head of staff is to help other players perform their duties in-game, make sure they are following regulations and doing their jobs properly. Through this, you aim to make sure your department is functioning properly and co-exist with other departments. If one person messes up, it is your responsibility to correct their mistake and act accordingly to their wrongdoings. If the mistake is severe, it comes down to you and command to decide what punishment would be for the person who committed the mistake. Outside that, it is notable to make sure you keep a professional atmosphere while being enjoyable. It is a game after all. "

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: My definition has changed here however, slightly. "The OOC responsibilities of a whitelisted player to other players is to be a role model for them, help them learn as they go on in there play. You are the mentor, there to help teach them how to do their job and well." Additionally, with that, it is about know when to keep self-restraint from overstepping your position as it may ruin fun for others.

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career?

There is a whole lot going on in Tau Ceti and abroad. Phoron shortages leading to serious intergalactic tension with Sol Alliance, phoron storms becoming a threat, threatening to tear apart things that go through them, and Black Trident Worms popping up, eating away the precious phoron. Prior to that, there are some Tajara political issues being present on Biesel and throughout Tau Ceti.

To Quintin Copperfield, this means that things are going to get much harder to work with in terms of crew relations and keeping them safe as the looming threat of Solarian aggression become larger as phoron runs out. Outside of that, he intends to keep people safe and content as best as he can.

To Sterben, the politics of Solarian Alliance do not bother it as long as it does not affect it directly. Sterben wants to make sure that medical is operational and up-to-date on operations to bring down the casualties.

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Generally? All of them but Chief Engineering and Head of Security. I need to brush up my engineering skills and I never even liked doing security work outside of CSI and Wardening. I prefer others do it.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Quintin Copperfield - Captain, Head of Personnel, Sterben - Chief Medical Officer, Flamel - Research Director.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Around 8/10, still room for improvement.

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? I am aware of this to a great extent as before.

Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? I am quite familiar with the roles on the wiki.

Extra notes: If you got any questions, feel free to ask.

An impressively competent AI player and knowledgeable medical player that doesn't mess around. Knows his mechanics appreciably and helped me relearn a few things about medical when I asked questions. Don't really have much else to say, he learns the roles he plays and it shows - that's a valuable quality in any Command player.

Probably the best AI on the server at least in my timezone. I hate that their name is misspelled, but otherwise they're pleasant OOC. I can't really see them using the Whitelist maliciously, rps in good faith and all that so yeah +1

ADAM has helped me tremendously being recently accepted into command regarding getting into places I cannot or advising me on procedures. I've also played with Optikam Ulmari when I played Stephen Yates and will vouch for both of these characters they both go above and beyond for other players fat +1 from me.

Through the best week of playing with Soul, I can say with with confidence over numerous rounds they have a firm understanding of advanced game mechanics and are able to prioritize and assess the flow of rounds accurately and quickly regardless of how chaotic the game mode or circumstances are. Furthermore, I believe they possess good character writing and roleplay skills. I believe that Soul is a good fit for command roles and without them, deadhour would be missing out on some solid decision making and character building. I endorse this application.

I've played under @Soultheif96's command in the past, primarily under Sterben.

There is absolutely no reason to question his in game knowledge.

If there is any point upon which he could be contested on, it would be his attitude, which I believe has always been alright. Better yet, @Soultheif96 is showing a lot of effort when it comes to handling crisis's with A.D.A.M.  - a vital skill for any command member. A.D.A.M. furthermore has excellent in game attitude.

His characters also have a lot of personality - for example Hemostat preparing funerals for everyone who has gone on an expedition.

I think Soul could do a lot of good as a command member, and should be given a chance to prove it.

When I play, it's typically under ADAM's AI oversight, and its a joy. I main borg now purely because Soultheif is such a good crewmember and a great teacher to people who dont know what they're doing. An absolute delight.

ADAM is one of the most believable and effective AIs I've seen roleplayed and never feel like they're either overstepping their bounds or not helping. Very good RP skills!

Oh my, it's A.D.A.M!

What can I say? Probably THE best AI player on my timezone. I'm surprised you haven't a Heads of Staff whitelist by now. You certainly deserve it. +1

Forgive me for being blunt, but you have had your whitelist stripped more than once.

What reasons should we, as staff, have to give you yet another chance?

What has changed since last time?

Have you learned anything from the previous whitelist strips?

Posted

I have expected this to be brought into question so I will also be forward regarding my past behavior and actions, given there is no reason to hide it.

I have learned my lessons regarding powergaming and deleting a security record infraction (Deciding something canon to be non-canon). For the powergaming part, I was overstepping my boundaries as a captain who is not trained in working with a machine like a PACMAN. Was it useful for the situation at hand? Yes, but it was not justification for me to do it and I should not have done it. As for my security record infraction, I was brash and not owning up to my errors. I shouldn't have done that to begin with.

Around when I had my second command whitelist stricken, I was in a low point of my life and I have made stupid mistakes, especially on Aurora. I do not want to discuss that part further as it is an uncomfortable topic for me. Took a four month hiatus on top of that as to focus on more important matters and from the serve itself as I burnt myself out.  Right now, I recovered from said depression and doing a lot better now even in these times.

I am asking for another chance now that I am learning from my past mistakes and rule breaks, I understand my track record is not the prettiest with staff as a whole. I have re-read the rules and made sure to not break any after my return from the hiatus. I wish to prove myself once again for the third time in a trial. @Shadow

After discussing it with the other whitelist handlers we have come to the conclusion that we are not willing to give you yet another trial.

Twice you were given a trial and twice you broke our trust and got it removed, at some point enough is enough.

For now and most likely for the foreseeable future I will have to deny your application.

Locking and archiving in 24 hours-ish.
