Carver
Besides, what if they get in my kitchen and start eating my food? This. As for 'evading the big creature', guess what, real mice don't actually go near humans in the first place. Animal sees bigger animal in vicinity, it runs immediately. Ergo, don't want to be stomped, stop going near people. Quote Link to comment

Zundy
Make mice able to bite and breed! Do it! DO IT! Quote Link to comment
UnknownMurder
Did you just imply that I'll be bitten before I kill the raccoon which a pest but can be wild animals. I am not talking about wild animals. I am talking about pests like a mole that lives in your garden, mouse living in the basement or attic, or cockroaches/bugs that keeps coming out of the walls. List of pests: Â Do I even need to PANICK before killing a pest? No, I just go like this in my head. "Hey, look. An ant. Going to kill it. Hehehe. Worthless disloyal ants. You remind me of Vaurcas. I am your master now." As it is, killing mice, are valid just like real life. No one is throwing a fit with mouse being killed other than you. If you keep dying as a mouse, you're probably either walking up to them thinking you can be their friend or pet, killed by pest control (Janitor), not hiding enough, or just doing something wrong. Hell, I could even complain that the game mice are not acting like real mouse, they're not even hiding in cowardice. Quote Link to comment
hivefleetchicken
Idk, this is a concept that (while not intended as the topic of Nanako's post haha) is actually pretty interesting to postulate on. Should we make mice more interactive to play like maintenance drones? Give them the ability to get anything done? I'm still #TeamHumans but while stamping mice wordlessly is fun I think expanding mice code would be chill haha As Zundy said, let them bite and let them breed Quote Link to comment

Bokaza
I agree that mice are pests need to be stomped out, but Nanako has a point. If people are fucking RPing with the thing maybe not stomp it on sight? If you saw a scientist pulling a mouse out of a fucking pen to do tests on it, you would obviously jump at the man and push him away in an attempt to kill the mouse and assert the dominance of your species. And what the fuck happened to that thing where at least half of human population are afraid of mice and rats? Maybe you should seriously consider running away or shooing it when one comes around. Because, mice are obviously so fucking dangerous they need to stamped out, but not enough for people to actually be afriad of them. It honestly just seems like people being dicks to mouse players, little more. Most of the comments I hear are complaints about mice nozzling people, which is your main problem considering literally everything that isn't strictly human is an impled fersona by default. Shadow
I have no idea why this thread exists, but Ill just end it. Mice are valid, there's no need to me something, just stomp it if it comes near you, or don't, up to you. If you join as a mouse you accept that anyone is allowed to kill you on sight. Bokaza
Being within the boundry of the rules doesn't necessarily make something less of poor form. Quote Link to comment
Guest
So what? You gonna complain until you get your way, that being ensuring that anyone who dares throw a wrench at a player mouse for whatever reason will be yelled at or banned by the admins for stamping out pests? I've seen validing happen for less. Quote Link to comment
Bokaza
In case you are directing that at me, no, I'm not gonna complain until I get anything. That is detracting from my argument. I'm generally against the dick rule to begin with. What being a dick is and is not is too much of a confusion to be a valid reason to punish someone. With that in mind, consider if you were exchanging emotes with a mouse. For example, trying to catch and strange it, while it desperately tries to run for its life. You have it in your hands and you are typing a new emote, about to finish it off in a sadistic fashion. Then a random dude walks in and stamps it, not minding if someone was actually RPing with it. That is poor form, not because you killed, but because you ruined RP. The fucking mouse was in your hand, he couldn't stamp on it to begin with, but that's by the admission of most people in this thread the only possible route anyone could take. There may be other ways of dealing with mice other than violently stamping them out like a oversized cat on meth. I'm not saying I agree with nuzzling mice, or not treating them like dirty pests, I'm simply saying that aforementioned behavior is a pretty dickish approach to RP and SS13 in general. UnknownMurder
Solution: Just take out the player mob controlled mouse functionability. Quote Link to comment

That sucks for the mouse, but I fail to see how this is a social injustice or roleplay travesty of any kind. It's a mouse. It is not offered or granted the same rights as actual sentient characters. Quote Link to comment
UnknownMurder
I felt like this was a better example to show why the mouse isn't the same as the character, but sure they're the player. Quote Link to comment
Fox009
Rename 'mouse' to 'rat'. Nobody likes rats while mice can be considered kinda cute. Quote Link to comment
Nanako
curious to see this is still going A couple of people have been getting really wierd lately. UnknownMurder up there, pulled out a laser and shot me when i was a mouse. Inside his own office. With wooden floors and furniture. Ive had security officers firing through windows too, into their own boss's office, because he had a mouse as a pet. I've had an ERT open fire on me in a hallway with an LMG I've had people disarming me out of someone's hands so they could get to murder me first. Started a few brawls that way And cadmus has discovered how to instabaton mice while they're under a table. These things kind of go beyond normal pest-control RP. I think you guys are just bored, and desperate for something to kill, while you wait for an antag to show up. Quote Link to comment
UnknownMurder
I won't deny I enjoy killing nuisance pest. Quote Link to comment

Skull132
I've had an ERT open fire on me in a hallway with an LMG. Â I need to dig up the stories of bored soldiers getting very "creative" when dealing with pests and wild dogs around their base camps while on deployment. Shit's gold. I think C4 was used in one instance. Quote Link to comment
