Right, so this moderator shit isn't working. Tired of dealing with everyone's problems with zero appreciation. The pay sucks, the hours suck, and my boss(es) are assholes. None of the trials know what they're doing, and the admins are god awful, with Tish being the worst especially at Siege, like holy fuck, dude. . I don't really care who takes my place, it can be Laser for all I care. I won't be sticking around to see. When I came aboard, I wanted to make a difference, but the point being, it's not worth it. None of it is worth it. Fuck this shit, I'm out. It's been a pleasure, Aurora.

What's a specialist abbreviated as? Honestly, I'm not sure if the ERT bit being changed is really necessary, nor do I really like how the playable-side of it is condensed. I've always liked how Aurora ERTs could have 3 possible commanding ranks governed by playable characters. It feels like you're wanting to remove that completely, and then glaze it with fluff ranks for the high brass.

UnknownMurder - Server Moderator Application
Serveris replied to UnknownMurder's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
With applicant's discretion, their application interview, trimmed down slightly for more clear answers: Regarding UM, after conducting this interview, I am willing to support them in a trial moderatorship. They appear to have a lot of potential, and have always had a cool, level-headed approach to issues on the server, and I believe that their experience on Colonial Marines will be a very valuable addition to our staff department. -
Locking and archiving due to admin intervention. As Garn stated, do feel free to submit a ban appeal sometime in the future.

Sorry, who are you? Welcome back, Nik. Everything burned down since you left.

LemonTheFruit - Player Complaint
Serveris replied to UnknownMurder's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I will contact them serverside next time I see them on the server. -
Would like to see this. From a staff perspective, we commonly see people that use this mid combat for the records purpose of being able to kick the shit of of someone while invisible. I've seen a Vox use the stealth module and knock down the entire security team simply because no one could land a hit on them. This is a serious issue that needs to be balanced out. At the very least, make them flicker slightly, like a 'ghost' whenever they get within very close range of someone.

We're going to need Pootis to post ASAP and address the concerns brought up by moderation staff.

I think what he's referring to here is a module that would allow you to 'dash' across several tiles in one quick movement, on solid footing, perhaps 4 tiles ahead in whatever direction you're facing. Not act as an EVA jetpack. (We already have the maneuvering jets module to serve this purpose.)

An issue that was raised here that I personally would like to see addressed. For some time now, even as a non-antagonist, I've observed you going well out of your way to completely destroy bodies or render them very difficult to clone, with very little fanfare or sportsmanship to accompany it. While you're not necessarily obligated to avoid killing people, why is it that you always make a point of permanently removing people from play, ie, sacrificing immediately after killing as a cultist, decapitating kills after you've already finished them, etc. To me, this seems like a pretty big dick move if not pretty obvious powergaming. Then again, not everyone you've done this to has been security either, I've noticed. You've done the very same to unarmed engineers and medical personnel who were simply in the vicinity trying to do their jobs. Why is it that you do this so consistently?

Vaemar's Head of Staff Application
Serveris replied to Vaemar's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Meant to come back to this after I checked the player age, but Arrow beat me to it. That's a rather large discrepancy. I've been here going on three years now, and you don't seem to be the slightest bit familiar to me. How often do you play? Just since this app was posted, I can't say I've seen you around the server much. -
The system that was used was tested, and has been used repeatedly before by people of sufficient rank and trust to do so, on many many occasions. This outcome was not preferred or planned; it simply happened. It is hardly 'new' or 'strange' at this point; dicks will occasionally break and need to be fixed. Why it caused such issues now is still a mystery, but for now, all we can really do is hold off until Skull is around and available to unfuck the server and patch said system to prevent this all from reoccurring.

Sadistic Nightmare's Tajaran Whitelist
Serveris replied to Sadistic Nightmare's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Pretty solid roleplayed from what I've seen, AFAIK, this round be the first alien species he's played on Aurora? At the very least, the first one I've seen. Regardless, I think they've got what it takes. I am interested in hearing what positions you plan for them to fill, though? The back story seemed relatively vague concerning this. -
I see very few vaurca concerned with having a good image, excluding maybe two vaurca I've seen ever. I've never seen them described as ant-lizards, but that's a fairly accurate metaphor. I really feel whitelist evaluations on vaurca players as a whole should probably be looked into. I wouldn't really have qualms against barring them from security either, given I've seen most behave. It really doesn't make much sense lore wise, and over the past few months it's been a common issue that mods have had to deal with.

No. People are already shitters when it comes to being transported to the brig. I'm going to have to end up stunlocking some schmuck to keep them from doing this every 3 seconds. (A lot like how people like to try and slip out of their cuffs while I'm holding them to talk to someone. Then I have to move them a tile over to cancel it. Or just wordlessly chewing on their hands constantly in the 20s walk up to the brig.) Honestly, this idea is akin to the suggestion a while back allowing handcuffed people to kick people near them.

Hi there. I was one of the nuke ops this round, Tenner, a tajaran. I played along with Sleepy Wolf's vaurca. Allow me to openly state in this round I did take, 'command,' but that a lot went wrong. Our plan was as such. Break into two teams. Team A was to hit the armory, and draw security's attention fore of the station, making as much noise as possible. Team B was sent after our mark, Oliver Roadman, the chief engineer, whom we intended to take hostage, which I chose to tag along with. Very early on, we ran into Roadman in the engine room. We cracked the window, and breached from EVA, and Oliver began to run away. I do not recall any shots being fired at this point, inside the engine room, by any nuke ops. We moved into the engine room, where we ran into two engineers that we took at gunpoint. One of them moved, and was reflexively shot by myself and sleepy wolf, however I lowered my gun immediately, and handcuffed them. At this point, Lyar and Raniyah were getting dangerously close, so we backed off. Escaped into space, and ended up leaving Sleepy wolf behind unintentionally. We came back, and I saw Lyar standing over him, handcuffing him. I imagine there was a struggle here. Whatever, didn't think much of it at the time, so I didn't bother to assess. I was much more focused on unloading my gun into Lyar at the time. Fast forward, we came with a plan to enter departures during crew transfer, and take Oliver there. As we're passing the windows, a security officer snipes one of us with a LWAP. I ordered the team to pull back, but at that point, 2-3 ops had already engaged the security in departures. This went to shit really fast. A bomb went off, a bunch of officers poured into EVA, and pretty much everyone but me got wasted. I grabbed Oliver (I was focused on taking him during the entire shootout, but did end up getting engaged by a few officerrrs, which I put down. Centurion is the only one that comes to mind by memory) and FO'd back to the shuttle. I can't recall exactly who armed the bomb at departures, nor the details involving Sleepy and Lyar's fight in/outside/near the engine room.

6bloodocean6 Whitelist for heads.
Serveris replied to 6bloodocean6's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Hi there! Just wanted to quickly raise a few points concerning your character. I was playing in medical with them a few days ago, and noticed that you really seemed to be struggling with very basic medical mechanics, such as operating the cryo tubes, and operating sleepers. Two patients died under your care due to gross neglect. Are you sure that you feel qualified leading a medical department? I personally feel that you need to spend more time in basic medical roles, and reviewing the medical wiki, as it seems you don't quite have a firm hold on how medicine on our server functions. Secondly, while I can't say much about your performance in security, as I haven't noticed you playing the roles when I've been online/awake, but I did happen to notice this this last round. Taking a glance over that, I saw a very minor issue. I don't suppose you could entertain the possibility of you maybe telling me what this slight issue could be, especially for a Head of Security? -
So, before we discuss this any further, can we see what progress you've made on this new, much more realistic character that you're talking about. What did you have in mind? Records? Flavor text? Backstory? Anything that you could use here to convince us that you are truly willing to come to terms with the reasoning behind your ban? This would be the best place to get constructive criticism laid out.

If we remove the function of them blocking projectiles, which would involve changing the parameters of the IsShield() function (I see of no other way of doing this), then I would like to see ballistic shields added to the armory for the express purpose of deflecting projectiles; maybe make them less effective against brute melee attacks. As it stands, ablative/bulletproof vests are the only material within the armory that makes sense (mechanics and lore-wise), and even still, when put into play, it ends up using RNG based armor code, and is still relatively unreliable against projectiles. To maximize protection against say, drones, I've always issued officers armor against the respective threat, and sent them out with a carbine and a shield.

I'd be willing to pull this in, seeing as how it's a very minor feature, and you've provided sprites.

Diona Internal Healing (Mending broken bones and organs)
Serveris replied to SilverTalismen's topic in Completed Projects
Twenty ticks is not very long at all. If this becomes a thing, I definitely feel it should be a very lengthy process. Maybe have to be in a brightly lit area, and roughly 5~ minutes worth of immobile time?
