DronzTheWolf Sorry this took a while. What job does Takiyah play to begin with?
-
Sorry, but no weapons. That includes ceremonial ones because it's simply "no weapons". App denied.

Uhhhh, you might be severely misremembering the details behind immovable rod. Immovable Rod not just creates a line through the station. It cuts a line through the station. Any mobs take either massive damage or are gibbed and most if not all structures in the way are either severely damaged or utterly destroyed. Admins used to be able to trigger Immovable Rod event (I don't think we can anymore), but it had a warning prompt asking you if you REALLY wanted to use this for a reason because we're talking everything in that line is going to die and those areas are going to be breached. In fact, I don't remember Immovable Rod ever being a random event because of that. That being said, no Immovable Rod random event ever, in my opinion. EDIT: Also, it doesn't make sense now that we're a planetary installation. The fluff used to be the station would plow through the immovable rod because it was in the way. That's not exactly possibly now that we're on the ground unless we want to say that the entire asteroid gets diced in half too.

[Retracted] HunterRS's CCIA app
TishinaStalker replied to HunterRS's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Yeah, absolutely not. There's no way I can support you becoming a CCIAA. I do think you'd genuinely make a terrible CCIAA from an objective standpoint unless you have a serious personality change and that doesn't happen over the course of some months and certainly not overnight. This is made especially worse when you have obviously demonstrated that you have zero idea on how to implement change and feedback. Considering the fact that throughout your whole application process (including your accepted head of staff app), you had tons of people explicitly stating they're not supporting your app because they don't want Edgar Dawnguard for an RD and think he's a terrible character at it. Yet here we are with Edgar Dawnguard RD, regardless of what 15+ people were telling you. It's easily summarized by Principal Skinner from the Simpson's asking if maybe he's out of touch, and then concluding with it's other people that are wrong. To further expand on Abo's post above when it comes to your general behavior, you've already proved to us time and time again that you don't know how to keep your cool nor how to stay rational the instant something sets you off. Any time you'd bring up your head of staff for feedback, if someone so much as uttered anything involving your long application process, then you'd immediately fly off the handle, and post in a way that I can only liken to somebody that might be unironically crying at his computer while typing. Caps lock, no stops, weird spelling mistakes, very desperate logic that makes absolutely zero sense; the whole mile. Such as one time you were asking the general server on how you've been doing as Edgar Dawnguard RD, and I said something to the effect of wishing you'd have taken advice to play a new character. At which point, you responded along to the tune of "I WASN'T ASKING YOU, TISH" even though you posed the question to the general public in OOC at the time. At which point, any feedback from me was met with you claiming "THAT WAS THE PAST" and God help you if you do the same thing here because you always present it in the most double standard way possible. In that you believe your past doesn't matter when you've done something, but other people's past matters, and we should forget your past entirely and not judge you on it because that's what you want. Then, that whole matter concluded with, maybe 5 or 10 minutes after, another player and I stopped talking about your whitelist, you ahelped claiming that we were both actively harassing you. Despite having stopped and our dialogue towards you summing up to how you're shutting us out and, essentially, claiming we're not entitled to our opinion because our opinions were harassment, even though our opinions were looking at you objectively from where you started to where you were at that point. In short, you don't know how to keep your cool and when you explode, you explode. I, personally, don't want you anywhere in a staff team. A huge part of being staff is how we present ourselves in non-negative manners. Having someone that gets easily frustrated on a hair trigger to near breakdown levels consistently is not only bad for image, but also especially bad for staff roles where you have the ability to apply punishment to others. -
[Denied] Jim Bredda's Moderator Application
TishinaStalker replied to jimbredda's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
So you haven't been playing here for four or five years then, glad that's decided. Edit your application to reflect that. -
TLDR: I like you. Don't log onto the server next Monday.

As someone that literally only plays Chemist and nothing else for years, I can agree to parts of this; more specifically knowledge that we have them in our code and cryptic hints. I'll never not support secret chems because at the end of the day, none of the secret chems are 100% vital, some of them aren't even remotely useful to the average player, and the ones that are useful have their purpose VERY easily fulfilled by literally anybody else in the medical bay. I believe that secret chems are vital to Chemistry and some people that put their opinions on secret chem removal do so without even playing Chemist in the first place (not accusing Bygone of this as I'm unaware if they do or don't). In four years of playing Chemist, I can assure you that it is a VERY boring job. You knock out your list of chemicals to fill the fridge in 10 - 40 minutes based on skill level and then you do absolutely nothing until CT/evacuation because now nobody needs you unless somebody is going out of their way to sabotage the chem fridge or is intentionally withholding chems for their own selfish reasons. Secret chems add a lot more creativity, fun, and intrigue than you might think, as well as actually adding a research element to both Chemist and Scientst; since there's a Chemaster in Science for a reason. If the formulas for it are revealed, then everybody who plays Chemist has zero reason or incentive to create these secret chems and do some actual research. I don't care about the arguments behind "Oh, but realistically speaking..." because at the end of the day this is a game. If we have a job that's very boring, then we should strive to do SOMETHING to make them fun. Gameplay should come before realism in certain cases and this is definitely one of those cases.

Daliyah Veridan's Eridani-TauCeti Work Visa
TishinaStalker replied to Azande's topic in Completed Items
Application accepted. -
Hi, you're definitely wrong here. It's kinda uncommon, but I definitely have joined into much more than a few rounds where an MD asked to be let into chemistry by the AI, was accepted, and then I join half an hour later to either already having my job done or to having to spend an additional 30 minutes to fix everything they cocked up.

Staff Complaint gamerlord357
TishinaStalker replied to Gamerlord's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
I'm glad you two were able to come to a reasonable conclusion without me needing to get involved in the first place. I agree with the points being said here and I'm glad Berry was able to come to the conclusion on his own that maybe he was being a tad unreasonable due to assuming your knowledge. Since the one who filed the complaint agrees that now the matter is resolved, I'm myself inclined to agree based on what I have read here. I'm not going to take action against Berry either, seeing as, as I pointed above, he came to the conclusion on his own, and that's one of the first ways to start fixing your mindset for the future. Thank you, you two. Locking and archiving. -
This is neat and I genuinely like this idea, actually. Application accepted now go locate some lamb sauce.

100% hell the fuck no due to what it is. 200% Absolutely fucking not due to how it's presented. Miss me with that gay shit. Application denied.

I'm agreeing with Lohikar here. I really appreciate this sprite and it looks SUPER cool, Kyres did a stellar job. At the same time, I definitely don't think it fits with the rest of the game and definitely not engineering. Way too mantis-y to begin with to the point that it looks like some feverish pet project of a dude trying to make anatomically correct, custom-built insect bots and definitely not a commercial thing that would be marketed to a corporations. Side note, not gonna lie, it looks WAY more like some Power Rangers enemy than a stationbound synthetic due to how the shoulders and torso are styled. Second, it definitely does not look anything like other engineering cyborgs, or like any cyborgs in general outside of having lots of legs. In fact, it's really just wholehearted "praying mantis, but it's a robot" and even the spider borgs are nothing like spiders outside of multiple legs that are more crab-like than spider-like. As much as I'd love to give you this, that's based solely on the fact that it is a visually pleasant sprite to look at, and god damn I probably won't shut up about that any time soon, but that's about it. Sorry! If you come up with something different, then I'd love to see it, and hopefully not take a whole month to get to that time. Application denied.

The light color thing can probably be done as we do with glowsticks, if I had to guess. I'm sure we can do that, I think. Application accepted.

Except that, that is definitely not the reason as Burger has demonstrated in OOC a couple rounds ago. BurgerBB: Literally you'd have to be a gluttonous fuck to get any sort of serious consequence from junk food. TishinaStalker: If that's the case, then why make the heart damage thing??? TishinaStalker: You literally just said you need to be a gluttonous fuck to get any sort of serious consequence from junk food BurgerBB: I mean both BurgerBB: It's spess BurgerBB: twinkies in spess are the size of soda cans BurgerBB: Plus it gives free poison to antags There was literally next to no point in this addition outside of the creator's totally ridiculous reasoning when sprites are not always indicative of real size and, assuming that he's ACTUALLY using this as a legitimate reason and not to take the piss like I'm expecting he is, antagonists already have free poison by hacking any nanovend in medical ever. By all means, remove this god awful mechanic. There's no reason why I should need heart surgery for eating a few bag of chips.

So get experienced in it by playing Extended and focusing on roleplay instead of how you'll secure valids? It's a heavy RP server, so you should be doing that anyway regardless of round type, but what do I know. If anything, all it does is encourage "Oh, I can't fight antags. ABORT ABORT." In which case, those players need to go back to mrp!!!!

Lets give security personnel loose clothing. Next, lets make scarves mandatory for jobs that work with heavy machinery. Floorlength braids are now mandatory for roboticists.
