  1. Alrighty, let's see. I'll try to explain my reasoning and actions throughout the round. I won't lie that the actions by 'Rookie' weren't the best throughout the round, consistently running off and acting alone, it doesn't really impact on my character's actions. Security and our team had a stand-off in the armory earlier in the round where we exchanged gunfire and put one of their members in crit and they put one of our members into crit. Tensions were high throughout the round as every single member of the security team was armed in some way or form, a shotgun, ion rifle or energy carbine. After extended roaming around and generally no interaction with the crew given a lack of power security informed us to leave while their wounded were tended to. We reached the airlock under (armed) escort and told to never return again. Now, this helps set up the further scene that occurred on the shuttle. We arrived to find out that 'Rookie' had indeed taken a hostage, something security had no clue of. Maverick (Armory) then told me to escort them back to the Yellow dock - where security was located- Now, given that security wasn't too happy with us for looting their station and knocking one of their members in crit, I decided it would be better to hide the evidence of having taken a hostage in the first place rather than turn up to an armed escort barring a hostage. No evidence of them taking a hostage. The hostage had also seen the interior of the ship, thus compromising both the location of it if they blurted it out as soon they returned and the general in character tip-off of the appearance allowing possible future man-hunts. Another element is the fact that Scurge is a Lii'dra. Lii'dra are often only out for it for themselves and their hive. They view people as either tools or pests to be killed, thus the hostage had no use of it anymore and would be more of a hassle to return given the armed escort and questions. It was far easier to pull them to a ditch on the asteroid, force them to kneel and shoot them into the hole. The body wouldn't be found at least until they got away and there would be no living witnesses of what the heisters looked like without their suits and what their ship looked like. I did not gloat, I merely told you and the other heister what had happened at the end of the round, in fact, I even apologized to the player in OOC about killing him once the shuttle had departed and he had no issues with what had occurred. It wasn't senseless gank, it was a well-thought-out IC decision based on various variables encountered during the round and the lore behind the faction/species. And to say you got 'heated' and 'told me off a bunch' doesn't begin to describe what you said. You personally attacked me - not the character but the actual player behind them - in LOOC. You then took it to Discord once the round had ended and started straight up abusing me. Here are the screenshots of what you had said to me both in LOOC and on Discord.
  2. I guess I will also attempt to break your post down bit by bit, Armory. A majority of the rounds - About 85%, excluding when you get an antag role - I see you standing either outside the brig, in the brig, or by the camera console. You rarely move from there unless an incident is reported or you're interacted with in some way. You rarely interact with the crew outside of security manners/combat/action. I've never seen you go down to the kitchen unless it's to regen your stamina, nor head to the bar or interact with anyone outside of the ISD. Every time we've interacted while I was an antag and you have been security, or when we are both play security you seem to always try your hardest to shut down the players regardless of what gimmick they run. I've seen you multiple times rush on to the scene and start going straight for stuns/aims. A recent Feeding-round the other day is proof of that. I and a Ling had cornered someone and stunned them. You ran up on the spot and attempted to start harmbatoning me. Eventually, you had me cuffed and when I tried to escape you attempted to break my skull by repeatedly harm-intending my head with a baton despite the fact I was blocked and handcuffed. Yesterday you wordlessly opened fire on two mercs, one of them being an unarmed medical character. Also, 'being good at combat' and 'record of getting kills' isn't exactly a good thing. You shouldn't be proud of your officer murdering every antag they meet. I suppose I could mark this down and file it away but you seem to have an issue with Richter for no apparent reason, same with many of my antag characters but that can be chalked up to past situations and past IC experiences. I'll be grouping these two things together since they're practically the same. You saw fit that because of my (antag) character's actions - which are totally justifiable given the situation and the nature of the character - to personally insult me. This wasn't an insult to the character, but rather the actual player/person behind the character. Along with that, is when you were asked by staff to stop insulting people via LOOC, you opted to then privately message me to bypass their instructions and to resume flaming where no one else could publically see it. I find it grossly unacceptable for a person to attack not the character, but the player themselves for in-character actions, and then when asked to stop by others to resume your personal vendetta against them. Perhaps then you shouldn't be getting so in to a game to the point where the lines of IC and OOC aggression get blurred and your character comes off as generally dislikeable and aggressive? The issue stems from the fact that you claim he doesn't start shooting until the suspect 'provokes' the station/command/him. By your own words, he will shoot anything 'until they're horizontal' if they provoke the station. This means 99% of antags barring peace antags will be shot to death by him since they dared to attempt to progress the round, or in your words, 'provoke command/him/station'. You're basically saying you're going to shoot anything that poses an issue to station integrity. Which isn't a bad thing per-say, but you've done it to a far more aggressive state than any other officer recently. Boasting about killing antags both ICly and OOCly isn't good behavior and is downright unrealistic with the amounts you do it ICly. You rarely make any attempts to RP with the antagonists of a round outside the barrel of your gun or the hum of your stunbaton. You have a very aggressive 'play-to-win' behavior in both your antag and non-antag rounds. If you want to sit around and play a quiet character, that's fine by me. But the sudden shift from quiet and reserved to homicidal screeching over the comms and excessive bloodlust and murderous rampage is just not realistic in my eyes and is downright bad security play. There is no real reason for your actions besides 'it's funny'. Non-antagonist characters need to be sane and believable. An officer who remains quiet and suddenly starts screaming he's going to murder someone violently and starts bashing skulls in of a handcuffed prisoner isn't exactly sane. There are ways to play it correctly but you've approached it in the wrong manner, and it's even more concerning that you do it purely for the 'fun of it'. In the end, I think ultimately you need to take a step back and re-evaluate how you approach security and how you play your characters. You don't need to get so into it and start thirsting for blood.
  3. BYOND Key: CommanderXor Game ID: Various Rounds Player Byond Key: ArmoryBlaine Staff involved: Multiple members of staff after multiple ahelps over the past few days. No exact ones recalled. Reason for complaint: Excessive validhunting and poor security play. Excessive aggression in LOOC and Discord, metagrudging. Insulting players in LOOC and DMing them to personally insult them. He's been generally rude and does nothing a majority of the round but stand around until an antag appears, and then tries to kill them. He has frequently harmbatoned people, including handcuffed individuals. Has a habit of rushing for lethals when possible and an excessive amount of force. Has claimed he finds it funny when his character 'snaps'. Unbelievable/unrealistic standards while playing security. Often speaks over the radio seemingly enjoying violence and death to unnatural lengths. Has a habit of metagrudging and insulting anyone who disapproves of his gimmicks/actions/characters, going as far as insulting them personally in LOOC and Discord. General toxic behavior. These things have become worse and worse over the past week and a half. I've had to ahelp something about his actions at least once a day for the past three-four days straight. He seems to play to win rather than to drive any sort of story, both as an antag and security player. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? I've ahelped multiple times and been told he was talked to and if I want to take things further to lodge a player/character complaint, thus here I am. Approximate Date/Time: The past week or so. 7-7-2018 to 10-7-2018. Additional Notes: I don't have any evidence for his powergaming/validhunting behavior and would like staff to possibly glance over the logs in regards to this issue. However, I do have screenshots of his aggressive behavior in LOOC and Discord, albeit only of a single incident. They are seen below in the spoiler.
  4. CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: CommanderXor Character names: Edward Cane, Sean Richter, Rosey Woods, Romeo Patton, O.I.U-156, Fredrik Winters, Ka'Akaix'Vizea C'thur Age: 16 Timezone: GMT +10 / AEST What times are you most available?: Probably the afternoons and evenings, all day on the weekend and holidays. Won't be free at all on Mondays due to parade nights. Experience How long have you played SS13?: About three or so years. How long have you played on Aurora?: A year and a half to two years. How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? I'm on the forums every day to check posts and the like but I rarely post unless I have something to add. The same is for the Discord. I regularly check it but I don't post on it unless needed. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Three bans, first one was for being aggressive in LOOC and was only a day ban. The second ban was a security job ban for EMPing a malf AI and accidentally hitting an IPC in the blast, was deemed collateral damage was never acceptable. The third and final ban was for being unserious in character and making stupid remarks about certain races, a two-day ban. Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: I was a moderator on the People of Gaming 1942RP, wasn't SS13 related. I was also an admin on both Shockcore Gaming's Combine Military RP and their City RP server. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: I do not believe I have any experience that would relate to CCIA work. Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: I mainly want to join the CCIA because it seems like it would be a good first-hand experience at what working with others in a staff environment on an SS13 platform would be like. I've never been a member of any form of staff or lore writer on an SS13 server and I think that something like the CCIA would be a great starting area to work within. Another factor is the timezone issue, while staff obviously exist in these time zones there is a need for more as the recent Discord announcement stated, thus I feel as if I should help fill in the gap and apply for the position to help the Aurora community. A more personal reason for myself is to see what the CCIA is like in general, what lies behind all that paperwork and command. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: I believe that some of the main qualifications needed for a CCIA Agent would be to handle paperwork effectively. If a person does not know how to format their faxes and various other paperwork, things quickly become a mess. Another factor is their ability to write in general, if you can only write a sentence then it doesn't seem you'd be a good match. Everything must be elaborated upon, it helps prevent details being overlooked and it's generally more informative compared to single sentence/word replies. The ability to remain impartial in investigations both ICly and OOCly is another factor that must be considered since CCIA Agents are expected to remain unbiased in their investigations and interviews to maintain the most accurate outcomes. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: The role of the CCIA Agent in ongoing rounds can best be described as a backburning role that should not play a majorly active part in it. They're there to answer faxes sent by the station, and to send the standard reminders on the various station activities such as the captain's authority and the Vaurca phoron need reminders. Another thing that CCIA Agents do during ongoing rounds is dock with the station and pull aside certain individuals back to Odin for interviews in regards to various Incident Reports. Sometimes they are called upon for gimmicks on the server but rarely does that occur and thus they play a more passive role in the various day to day rounds. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: The role of a CCIA Agent off the server lies typically on the Discord server and the forums. They are there to help sort through the Incident Reports lodged on the forums. They also have to alert people on the Discord, BYOND Pager or whatever other methods that they have been called forth in an Incident Report and thus need to arrange for an interview on the server. They also type up various reports on the Incident Reports they have handled and sometimes work with others to help run lore events or gimmicks if requested. Thus their workload is a large variety of things but mostly once again relates back to Incident Reports and handling IC issues when requested. How do you handle stress?: When it comes to stress, if I do become stressed typically I take a minute to lean back and reflect, normally I'll put on some music to calm myself down. I might get up and go grab a drink or snack to help calm myself. Sometimes, I'll typically just open a webpage for a bit and do some reading or watch a short video to help calm the nerves. I typically don't talk to others about it unless it's a major thing causing the stress, which typically boils down to real-life situations. Otherwise, a quick drink and video helps handle the stress quite easily. How well do you work autonomously?: A lot of the moderator and admin work I've done in the past has been based on Garry's Mod servers, which typically involve one-on-one sits and handling the issue on the spot. Thus I'm fairly used to working alone/without a lot of people around. I also tend to succeed better at solo-projects than I do with group projects, this helps improve my ability to work alone even more. Overall I think I work quite well alone in general. Additional Notes: I'd like to just note that I may have a small history of bans, my last incident was in 2017 and so far I haven't run in to any issues/notes/warnings/bans since then, thus attempting to keep my record clean if there are any doubts on my application/abilities with the ban history.
  5. Why don't we give this like a week-long 'trial period'? If major issues arise during the trial period then maybe it isn't the best, but, if security can prove that they are capable enough to be trusted with a lethal sidearm at round start then perhaps we could consider adding it full time. That's just my two cents though, I'm currently on the fence with this idea, I'd like it, but I'm not sure if the current security team(s) can handle it, hence the suggestion of a 'trial period'.
  6. I have to give this a '-1. Why would someone's dead man switch give a warning to all those around them? It makes no sense for your kill-switch to come with a giant 'THIS WILL EXPLODE' and enough time for people to sprint outside the range.
  7. I like the idea, could be fun to see how the crew would react to something more advanced coming onboard to steal away people for experimentation. Always wondered why we didn't attempt to port other gamemodes like this and modify them to suit the server.
  8. I love it. Personally, I'd find purple lights instead of green/red to be better but green looks great. I do support the idea of having the color being selectable, but not sure if it's do-able. Otherwise, I'd love to see this put in.
  9. BYOND Key: CommanderXor Character Names: Sean Richter, Romeo Patton, Rosey Woods, Jackson Holiday, Edward Cane Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): RGB 150, 180, 255 Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play as a Vaurca partially because of my love for non-human species in fiction, and due to the insectoid nature of them. Besides that, however, I think playing something so foreign, would make for an interesting experience and would allow a different atmosphere in RP. No longer playing the loathing Solarian soldier or the aging priest, but rather a large insectoid would be a fresh breath of air. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Where to start? Vaurcae are vastly different from Humanity in various fields. The hivemind aspect is a dead obvious, many being bound and not having free will, The unbound having free will in the sense of it being subdued when needed by the Queens' for the 'Greater Good' of their hive. The insectoid nature is obviously a vastly foreign thing to humans, people do not have compound eyes, chitin nor an open circulatory system. There is a vast amount of subjects to touch upon besides those two. You also have the cultural differences, and how humanity can touch upon that. Fashion is such a thing. It wasn't really a thing besides the eye garments, but humanity helped influence it greatly, thus making their own style. There are many more possible aspects that could be touched upon. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Vizea C'thur Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Vizea began life like many unbound Vaurcae, they were given six months to develop organically before they were thrown into the hive's normal development for Unbound. Given a Neural Socket, they were placed in the Virtual Reality Network of Ta'Akaix'Mouv'lek'tanta C'thur and began their virtual reality training. Unlike others in Muov's Virtual Reality, they stemmed away from constantly helping catalog the mass amounts of code and data, they set out instead on the field of medicine. Vaurcae related, and human-related. For six long months, they spent in the network studying the various aspects of it. How to treat various ailments, wounds and such of the most common species in Tau Ceti and Jargon Federation space. This was only the start of their education 'pathway'. Once the six months were up, they were augmented briefly once more. Oxygen-filters, language synthesizers and the other standard fare for Vaurcae interacting with non-Vaurcae. They were sent to help work in a smaller medical facility in one of the planets under Jargon's control. They spent most of it as a student, working closely with doctors to help cement the 'theory' of the Virtual Reality's lessons into solid 'practical' lessons. Treating mostly Skrell and humans, eventually, Vizea was given an offer by external affairs. The ability to work on the NSS Aurora, by NanoTrasen. Paperwork was filed and eventually, they were transferred to Tau Ceti to begin their contract with NanoTrasen on one of their state of art facilities. Vizea now attempts to prepare themselves for the journey ahead on the NSS Aurora and Tau Ceti. To see how the 'authentic' face of the Human race was, and experience more than the rare human and Skrell. What do you like about this character? I like Vizea because he's one of the first characters that I've made that isn't a human. He's an experiment, a prototype. To see how well I can tackle the challenge of playing something truly foreign to the human mind. Along with that, he's a character dedicated to medical, which I haven't done in a while which will be fun. Obviously, I also adore the entire challenge of seeing what it's like to face new specific challenges that may arise from playing him. Specism? Lack of Phoron? So many things may occur from his background, race, personality or such that will be interesting to experience first hand. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd say that my roleplaying abilities vary on the situation and concept. If I have time, I love to roleplay out doing certain actions. ActionRP and PassiveRP and the need to detail things out was a major emphasis by staff when I played on various Clockwork Half Life 2 RP servers. For HRP servers like Aurora, where mechanics tend to dictate the flow of roleplay, I still cope and I love to try and use the various mechanics and roleplay elements to help shape a story. Overall, I think I consider myself an average roleplayer. Notes: None really, besides the fact it's my first ever species application and would love some feedback!
  10. Is that an FN-FAL/SLR I see? My inner Rhodie just squealed. I think some more variety in the weapons besides the usual SMG/sniper/crossbow we see during heister rounds would be nice and it's always nice to see some new rifles in merc besides the constant assault rifle spam.
  11. I'd like to just mention I was playing the Vox and at the end of the round, after the shuttle docked at Odin and we missed it, one of them attacked me with a wrench, forcing me to spike them in to crit.
  12. It's clear this isn't going to go anywhere but staff constantly trying to defend their actions to the last and Garn coming along and closing this. I stand by my points that this entire issue was a justified situation, but I take it Abosh isn't going to care about anything besides Richter's speech because god forbid someone say something that may hurt someone's feelings in character.
  13. Acceptible and we recognized that. Columbo has two functions, standing in place and attacking. You knew full well that Columbo wouldn't help the situation besides being a weapon. Glad you recognize why your whitelist was stripped, you escalated a situation to the point of ERT having to open fire on you, the Emergency Response Team had to open fire in self defense against the people they're helping. Additionaly the reason you whitelist wasn't stripped on the spot was because myself and Sharp were asleep and Alberyk himself was directly involved in the matter, thus biased. You could have had this under control, yet you failed, we all fail sometimes and failures have consequences this consequence is having your whitelist revoked. Additonally we expect Heads of Staff to act as Heads of Staff in ALL situations, even those extremely stressful and extremely improbable. Anyone can lead a well oiled department, your job is to keep that department from descending into their primal state and anarchy, you failed. Player was dealt with by staff, you were dealt with by staff. The point is you. A: Escalated a situation, doing the exact opposite of what a head should be doing. B: You threatened multiple times to have the J-ERT thrown out of the airlock and called the new ERT which was not shooting doctors and not doing anything out of the norm of the usual ERT, to quote, "MENTALLY RETARDED MANCHILDREN" C: You attacked an Emergency Response Team member with a baton I'll respond to your points real quick. 1. I escalated originally because the Janitor was hitting people in medical for no reason other than indulging in some sort of power fantasy with tied up ISD personnel. 2. I'm not going to deny it, really. I didn't like the Janitor ERT because he was being an utter idiot trying to go for the Janitor meme rather than actually helping the station. You can say he was punished all you want, but his actions lead to this clusterfuck, I was acting in response to his actions. 3. I attacked the member with a baton because of all that had occurred up to that point. The previous ERT member had tried to shoot innocent people with total disregard for anyone's safety. And here is a doctor, which, I thought was trying to help the ERT, get floored by them and dragged a few squares up. Said ERT than turns on me when I get angry at him, baton in hand. So I batoned him in retaliation for what I perceived as a threat. Me failing to prevent my department from falling into chaos, in a chaotic situation, is more of an IC issue than an OOC issue. And you mentioning my failure, isn't exactly an OOC punishing thing. If a doctor accidentally overdosed someone, or an officer accidentally broke someone's bone while in a fight. Do we help it and say they failed and punish them? No. It's an IC issue, people make IRs if it's canon. If the staff will punish all failure OOCly with a heavy hand, well, that just doesn't seem like a thing that should be done.
  14. Like I said in OOC after the round, and the next round, I thought the chemist was actually trying to heal you and I wasn't aware that it was chloral hydrate. Which is why I apologized and said that was my bad the next round. As for Columbo I was really just bringing him around so he could help out in situations. But yeah, I take fault for the incident in the departures with the telebaton hitting you into a stun after you flashed the chemist. That was an actual mistake on my part, given I thought the chemist was treating you instead of trying to sedate you. But the rest of the situation was still well out of my control and hardly something that couldn't actually occur. If the original ERT was handled by staff, why is this a thing? This entire situation occurred because the Janitor ERT decided to light up the medbay, resulting in the second ERT coming to arrest people, which resulted in the entire thing in departures and the bridge.
  15. BYOND Key: CommanderXor Staff BYOND Key: Aboshehab Game ID: bRp-ag8v Reason for complaint: I believe the removal of the whitelist is not called for. The staff has made it clear in the past that they do not double up on punishments. However, in this case, I was given a warning and told not do it again. The next day I wake up to find a forum PM from Abosh saying my whitelist was revoked after 'an investigation'. The round was a clusterfuck and was handled already, but I digress. I believe my actions against the ERT were justified. The round went to hell real quick. A traitor decided to hurl around explosives in medical wounding/killing the captain and hurting others. Medical was incompetent and filled with new people who had no clue how to heal people, the SM was exploding and the command sub-level and elevator were exploded thanks to an antag. We called an ERT to hopefully fix the issue. When they reported in, I said I hoped they brought engineering tools. But was told 'What engineering tools?' Their first course of action was to literally go straight for the Janitor ERT and loot the Lead Trooper's scout rifle. Fast forward and I jokingly say to my staff 'throw em out the airlock'. Fast forward I hear gunshots in medical while I was visiting the captain who had just been cloned by the HoP(I think?) So I rush towards them with my rifle. Only to find a security borg has an officer in cuffs and the ERT is aiming at them. I moved forward asking what was happening before the trooper fired at the -handcuffed 'prisoner'- Now obviously this was alarming. The Unathi broke his cuffs and asked if he could arrest the ERT. I gave approval because you know, you really shouldn't shoot handcuffed prisoners for no reason. The J-ERT than unleashes lasers, and ballistics, shooting around the place hitting civilians in the crossfire with no regard for them. Several move forward to help the officer, including a detective and another officer. I even move forward and start trying to assist take down the ERT. Now, we tried to cuff them but they just kept getting up and plasma arcing up. So it eventually got to the point where we just had to beat them into submission and they died. Now, we called another ERT earlier in an attempt to get some actual support and not a meme ERT. The second ERT comes along and the AI is screaming how we're all mutineers and betraying Central Command, and so on. Fast forward the ERT is arresting everyone and utterly ignoring any attempts to negotiate, going so far as scream 'I don't care. Get on the ground.' despite all of command backing it and saying it was self-defense/they shot first. Fast forward we're captured, I get gunned down and dragged without being treated, but a random officer bandages me on the shuttle. The ERT then kills Columbo for...some reason, no real reason really. The second ERT behaved similarly to the first in regards to firing around the crowded shuttle area when we evacuated. Fast forward to the end of the shuttle ride, I get bwoinked and asked what happened. I explain I provide screenshots. After a bit of digging the staff gives me a warning, telling me not to do it again. Fine, I got a warning. But then the next day I get a PM saying it was removed. The staff has said they don't double up on punishments, so why did it happen here? Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks:The above two screenshots are the only things I have to ready access. But the HoP said they fired on her and medical staff first. The second is the loyalty implanted Captain also backing my decision.
  16. What is with you and threatening whitelist strips on every little thing that isn't an angry lizard hating on people? :eyes: As for the character, I think they're alright, for a non-human. They're not a stereotype, they're fun to be around, and they seem to drive a good narrative.
  17. I don't think a company, even NanoTrasen, could get away with drugging their entire water supply. Just saying. Going to have to give this a -1 as well. It utterly kicks people when there is no chef around as LiquidFood rations do nothing, at all. I once ate three of em and didn't even get full hunger, only went light yellow. Not to mention the fact that Soylet Green is literally people and NanoTrasen would be PR Hell'd to hell and back for both serving human meat and drugging their water supply.
  18. Given the fact he's now a Cap/HoS, and his view points have changed slightly more medium compared to ATLAS Right-Wing, and I've had more crew interactions. Any other comments/feedback for him?
  19. I have to give this a -1. The server is far too dangerous to warrant removing this vital mechanic. Cult goes loud? You'll die, if you're not security/armed. Then you're stuck out of the round unless you want to be forced to play a annoying murderboning machine. Merc/Heister? Unless they're going for hostages(Which to be honest always end up horribly bad or 'organ harvested' on the ship/executed. Speaking from past experiences on this one. One time surrendered to mercs and they cut my head off either way.) Malf AI? Yeah, you're going to get vented/borg'd by the AI/rogue borg. Changeling? Vampire? Both game modes involve harm, and in the ling's case, actual death. Not to mention all the random events, getting boned by space bears or spiders? What about blobs? There are far too many things dedicated to death, or cause death easily, to justify removing the only way to get back in normally and unchanged.
  20. +1 This guy, I don't know fucking how, but I run in to his characters nearly every time. I'll run in to Pikt, Vii, or borg. I've yet to meet Sai though. But from what I've seen and roleplayed, this guy is a fucking legend. He sticks to the lore, he isn't afraid to talk about it, and when he talks about it, he talks with confidence. I'm against him becoming a IPC purely because that means less interactions with his Vaurca characters. But jokes aside, this fucker is a good guy. +Support.
  21. He makes me want to shoot all Tajara on sight.
  22. So I was recently checking out other servers when I discovered Europa station. It's pretty standard and runs off a baycode derived base similar to Polaris and us, so the following system should be do-able. But basically every single gun in the game has parts. The barrel, the body, the stock, the loader, and so fourth. The system means that you can alter it, heavily. You can mismatch parts around to make a unique weapon or just for fun. The only limitations is that you have to use somewhat logical use. So pump action laser rifles are out for the time being. No mixing ballistics and lasers sadly for the most part. But basically anything can be done. The barrel dictates what round will be fired. Meaning a assault rifle barrel only fires assault rifle rounds. Pistol barrel only fires pistol rounds, and so fourth. The loader is what decides on how you load, and how it fires. Meaning a pump action loader means you can only load seven bullets of any kind, and have to pump inbetween shots. While a assault rifle loader means it only accepts assault rifle magazines. Stocks, as far as I know, have no real effect. But basically this means you can make pump action pistols, machine guns, taser rifles, laser sniper rifles, gatling gun rocket launchers, machine gun lawgivers and so fourth. Obviously this is overpowered so perhaps only certain roles such as antags, security and research can dabble in it, or perhaps have it behind a skill lock that staff can bwoink if abused. I think if this is ported, and made, it'll mean that we can make gun fights alot more interesting with taser sniper rifles, machine pistols, and so fourth. If staff are worried about abuse, or overpowered things, I am sure some guns can be made modifiable. But in my opinion, all weapons should be modifiable if they are obtained and the work is set aside to modify them. Here is the link to the GitHub, I have no clue what to link for the gunsmithing so sorry! https://github.com/Yonaguni/EuropaStation
  23. +! Support. Kalren is a wonderful character to be with, respects command when not a interim and administers orders and staffs people well when he is playing as a interim. Along with the personal roleplay that has been developed on a personal level with other characters, I think he would be a well fit for a Head of Security role on the Aurora.
  24. Welcome back. Interesting to see that RimWorld is bringing the community together, hah. I swear half the Discord is filled with RimWorld now.
  25. Gonna have to '-1' this for the reasons above. It seems more like something you'd ahelp, which is really simple thing to od. Rather then try and hardcode it in because you'll be making things less enjoyable for alot of the science staff and antags. While you could buy pins from cargo, or, from an uplink. A issue arises. It's not uncommon for a tech or QM to PDA the person in charge of it asking if they approved it. Every time I play Warden I always get messages 'Did you approve this officer requesting a coffee machine?' 'Did you approve of them getting wood to make a statue to honour someone who died?' and a bunch of other harmless stuff. Can you imagine if it was something like armoury gear or firing pins? This would effectively shut you out. 'Just order them from cargo or the ones in the armoury.' Alright, go ahead and order them. QM decides to ask the Warden, HoS or Captain. 'What? No.' then the Captain/HoS goes talking to you saying you have science pins and that is good enough to do your job. It's basically going to kick both science players, and antags, right in the nuts.
