  1. This thread isn't about the direction of the server's lore, it's broad scale fashion design, or even the server's sprite design style. It's, apparently, about this particular sprite being "cringe" enough to warrant removal or significant redesign. If we want to discuss how to reformat lore and the greater sprite palate of the server to better represent the story lore is or should be trying to tell, it would be best to start a new thread that isn't so marred by... whatever this is. I wouldn't be personally offended if the red band/stripe/strap/line was removed, but still nothing in this thread has given me any inclination to think that's necessary, beyond as a sort of appeasement just to get this thread closed.
  2. The synth and orchestral piano seem to conflict when first introduced around 1:10, and during the first few moments of the drop following it around 1:37. Minor adjustments- the piece as a whole is wonderful, +1. (Also, this should be moved to the 'projects' subforum)
  3. I don't even care about this issue in any real way, but dear god please use actual words that actual human beings understand. Explain what you actually take issue with rather than continuously throwing out the latest buzzword you've attached yourself to and pretending it makes your argument for you. If among all of these posts your only actual complaint is "it kind of resembles a Nazi uniform," then I don't really have anything to counter that with beyond the fact that this uniform was originally added explicitly BECAUSE we were having complaints about Necropolis' aesthetic, over half a year ago, with no notable pushback until now. This particular argument doesn't impress me coming out of the blue like this.
  4. The server has needed cloning removed for literal years now. Brainmed finally makes it unforgivable for it to remain.
  5. The neon green cent-com headset is severely out of date, but apparently that is because current central command headsets don't actually use the green cent-com sprite- they use the same one as command. If anything, I suppose the green headset sprite should be deleted, or changed to a black with gold highlighting or something if we want to give cent-com back a unique headset sprite.

  9. The same reason we changed from redsec to bluesec. Uniform coloration informs attitude and personality, both of the person wearing it, and to people who see someone wearing it. A light/dark blue coloration with professional suit and tie is much more approachable than all-black tactical operator jumpsuits (or blood-red corporate thug jumpsuits). Is it a huge deal? No. Is it a nice change to the overall way security is represented? Yes. Personally, I was of the mind to move them into the armory with the riot gear and make it part of the riot uniform, but I don't really mind this at all either.
  10. Canon: Canon Event Type: Halloween celebration Event Scale: Large Assigned Admin: Pending OOC Event Description: An annual event where crew are granted permission to attend a round long costume party. An announcement is made at the beginning of the round. Costumes are spawned in by admins, devs assist in having the bar area as predecorated as possible, however, engineers are allowed to make modifications to the design as they see fit. Who knows about it: Anyone paying attention to Central Command bulletin messages. Host/participants: Resilynn Notes: Will be run on extended.

  12. Canon: Canon Event Type: Pet adoption drive Event Scale: Small Assigned Admin: Arrow768 (2021 event) OOC Event Description: CCIA works in conjunction with the Tau Ceti Friends of Animals Association (TCFAA) to host an adoption event on station. There will be one exotic animal for adoption, the rest will be cats and dogs. One or two TCFAA employees will come to the station to find forever homes for these animals. Penny attends every year. Who knows about it: Anyone paying attention to bulletin messages. Host/participants: Resilynn, TheDocOct, Arrow768 (2021 event) Notes: Run on Autotraitor. Beat, an Adhomaian fatshouter, was 'adopted' by Muhawir Nawfal! Mochi and Scully, Terran mixed-breed cats, were adopted by Cran Conway! Lady, a Terran corgi, was adopted by Malcolm Corrigan! Kiwi and Shambles, a Terran macaw and chimpanzee respectively, were killed on station by non-antagonist actions. As a result, the TCFAA has withdrawn its recent partnership with the NSS Aurora, and has instead opted to proceed with its puppy therapy program and installation of a cat cafe on the NSS Upsilon. Further partnership with the Aurora may be reconsidered after Central Command investigation, in the future.

  19. I would highly appreciate it if Corporate Liaison was flavored to "X Liaison" depending on the faction selected, yes, with corporate liaison remaining for. independent, I guess? although that could become silly, allowing people to make CLs for any little faction. I'm not sure if it would be possible to remove the "Corporate Liaison" alt-title specifically for the independent faction?
  20. We don't have those rounds, typically, because a combination of our extended respawn timer and the natural wind-down that follows people dying without being replaced (particularly, security team members) prevents it from reaching that kind of circumstances. This is why it needs to be avoided.
  21. @Azande Set character faction to NanoTrasen, select 'corporate liaison' alt-title.
  22. As idealistic as lowering the spawn timer may be, it's something we absolutely have to be careful of. Death does not open up more job roles; only proper processing by medical does. When one miner dies from a fall on extended or the early hour of an antag round, it's very likely this will happen- but on crossfire, veil party, or any other chaotic round, it's very likely this won't. With this in mind, someone dying and instantly respawning, or after ten minutes, could eat up four, five, six, or more role slots a round if circumstances allow- and with these changes, you can bet more people would do that. With the current timer, it is more likely you could take two, maybe three a round, at best. This is both not fair to other players who may be prevented from participating in a round besides visitor because of other players using up several slots, and may even make "respawning" as anything other than visitor effectively impossible, because there's no roles left to respawn as.
  23. The posts are not obfuscating. Arrow has made this thread about janitorial by removing janitorial's access in the PR linked to this thread. References to other departments are, as far as I see, examples. Anyway. I fully disagree with removing janitorial's general department access. It has not, to my knowledge, been abused in any egregious manner, or frequently, or even at all, really. On the other hand, the janitor requires access to departments to complete the vast majority of their job, and their job is so low-priority that they will rarely receive active assistance in carrying it out. Even though this does not give the janitor direct access to all messes, the janitor being able to say "I saw a mess in X room, can I have access to clean it" is an active, direct request regarding their job in a specific place for a specific reason, and is far more likely to be granted than "there might be a mess in X department, can I have access to wander around and check", a passive, indirect request regarding their job in a vague area for an indistinct reason, which will almost never be granted besides very lenient command staff or department staff who have nothing better to be doing than guide a janitor around. The paramedic, on the other hand, will near always receive immediate and full assistance in carrying out their duties, because of the high-priority nature of saving crew, which will never be questioned in any real capacity. I can still see the arguments for giving them general access presented here, however, so I'll remain neutral on that.
