Does this mean it could set up the engine or go seal a breach as a scientist? If so, that's pushing it a bit. -

I am curious about the personality of A.I.M. The backstory doesn't really extrapolate it so well. Could you perhaps provide some insight? -

You touched off on the major issues quite well. I will accept your application. A quick note, though, there are only three N's in NanoTrasen. -

Looking... better, I guess? I'm sorry, I honestly can't understand the majority of the backstory. It is okay if English is not your first language, but if I am to be able to accept this, I must be able to understand it. Could you perhaps try to give it another shot in English? There's even a word in Ukrainian stuck in the middle there.

[Accepted] JMJ IPC application

There are many inconsistencies with the lore in your application. Artificial intelligence cannot understand the nuances of human emotion and interaction. Artificial intelligence masters mimicry, and while it does display some type of emotion, it is foreign to humans and is not displayed in the same way as human emotion. Hephaestus Industries is better than NanoTrasen at making artificial intelligence and robots. It does not really sound like Hephaestus to ignore such important parts of AI development, and then choose to just let it waste time aboard a research station without fixing it themselves. Additionally, while they may sell units to NanoTrasen, it's kind of weird for NT to just "find out" about some half-functional unit and then want to buy it and then even fix it themselves. Obligatory "he/she/it can understand things better than other IPCs" backstory. This is a personal irk of mine. What is wrong with just being advanced? Why must it be described that any specific IPC character is better than all others in any sort of way? The first and last inconsistencies are the most important, and I urge you to address and/or amend these issues. Rather than edit your original post, you should just post a reply with the character backstory, for comparison. I will be marking this as author attention needed until then. -
Except, this is not what Chev promised when they applied. They pulled a 180, changed just about everything, and they don't even have to "delete all of their work" to make changes and satisfy the negative feedback.

Disgusting. Absolutely deplorable. While I don't really have any problem with the lore itself, I have a problem with stuck-up lore devs who are so full of themselves, they would rather resign than to suck it up and accept the feedback from their players. Not taking these things into account because "it doesn't fit into my vision" is absolutely ridiculous, and while it is true that you alone are responsible for your species, you must remember that it is not just you who you are affecting. And, even if you still had no intention of changing anything after accepting feedback, your reasoning for such could at least be better than "nope, mine, sorry." I think it is undeniably selfish to do such things, and I would not even begin to doubt that your only intention on the lore team was to change the species to how you saw fit, and not care about anyone else. I do wish for you to prove me wrong. The lore is not about controlling something (that did not even start as your original idea, no less) with an iron fist. You need to be fluid, accepting of other opinions, and not assume a position of power over it. All in all, you are not a very good example of a lore developer, and I am appalled by the sheer amount of incongruence and lack of community cooperation. No, I don't expect the lore to be a perfect communion of developer and player, but stonewalling all of it for the one reason I've already stated is absolutely mind boggling. I do hope that you don't go back on your word and resign, because I don't think I can stand to work with you on any project whatsoever.

[Resolved] Player Complaint - Mcspizzy
CakeIsOssim replied to hivefleetchicken's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
FULL somewhat edited (removal of broken HTML) logs (according to relevancy): In conclusion, you failed to make it apparent that you were not at your computer or otherwise not able to play. For this, I am declaring this a non-issue for the second time, and closing this complaint. No punishments will be applied. Please pay attention, try to do a better job of communicating with people, and don't assume things or make things up. Bear in mind, I am not accusing you of any of these things, but the logs and the stories tell me that at least one of these things occurred. -

The laws are kind of flawed, IMO. They only encompass humans, where there are non-human command staff. Since that is mainly fluff, I will let you flesh that out without requiring to do so here. Application accepted. -

There is a reason there is a lack of metal humans. It is because metal humans should not exist. Artificial intelligence lacks the ability to easily understand human morality, social constructs, nuance, and interaction. The entire time I read your application, I feared this was the case. We have had metal humans before, and although they were done in extremely bad taste, at the beginning they were still allowed to exist. Another mistake like that is something I will not allow myself to permit. Cinder, while they are allowed to be intelligent and wise, should keep their intelligence and knowledge of human interaction to booksmarts, and struggle to apply this intelligence to actual interaction. It is okay to be better than others due to its age, but a flawless understanding of human empathy is a very large red flag. How do you intend to roleplay this empathy?

IPCs are designed for both aesthetic purposes and utilitarian purposes, so an IPC can be anywhere from 4'6ft (136cm) to 8ft (243cm). Anything taller or shorter than this and you're a damn snowflake and you'll make me a disappointed boy. Weight is subjective because not only are there three different kinds of IPCs but one of the three can be made from many different materials (steel, alloys, plastics). Use common sense when determining weight, basically. I have a six and a half foot (197cm) tall IPC that is made of steel and weighs 300 pounds (136kg).

An AI undergoing singularity would likely not even be using "utility functions," as its mind has gained a level of consciousness beyond human understanding. This is mainly because no one but the skrell have ever seen it happen, and that was 400 years before our current in-game date. I do like this idea, though, and it gives AI an actually perceivable purpose to their actions. This will be marked as processing until it is added to the wiki.
