Hello. Myself and @Flamingo will be taking this. Give us time to sift through the logs. We'll ask some questions as well. -
Back-to-back Vote Tweaks [FEEDBACK]
BoryaTheSlayer replied to geeves's topic in Discontinued Projects
To preface: I'm a EU timezone player here who actually enjoys extended. So for the last few months or so, after I wake up, get my breakfast, do my morning routine, I (albeit rarely lately) log onto the server to see how the round goes and potentially join it myself. What I usually see is extended. Which is fine! As I said, I enjoy extended. But then you notice it's about 10 or so people on the manifest. "Oh bummer, that's not a lot of people. I would rather play on high-pop or at least have a round be driven by an antag. Guess I'll wait for the next round." And I wait. And then it's extended again! With basically almost the same people! You may or may not agree with me, but lowpop extended is, in my opinion, some of the worst things to experience on Aurora. And as I said, for the last few months or so, this is almost the only experience I have been getting. While a few people here say that if people don't want a certain roundtype they just won't vote for it, I can't really get behind that simply for the sheer fact that I don't want these gamemodes, yet it's all I get in the time of the day that I can/prefer to dedicate to SS13. -
Rats don't really contribute much, if you want to observe the round you can already do so as a ghost, and i don't really see what kind of RP they provide anyway other than you having to use mousetraps when they steal food from the kitchen(which gets old very quickly). So that's a yes from me.

Those look nice. I don't really see the difference between that sweater sprite and the one we currently have, though? Edit: Just spotted the difference. Minimal, but still looks nice

Kazimir Boytsov Responds to Necropolis Corruption Allegations! In recent weeks the Sol Alliance News Network has received credible information regarding widespread corruption within the upper echelons of Necropolis Industries. Rumors of illicit transactions, dirty money, and weaponry being sold on the black market have swirled throughout the Alliance in recent weeks, and many fingers point at the current CEO of Necropolis Industries - Kazimir Boytsov. One of the Sol Alliance News Network’s reporters managed to secure an interview with Mr. Boytsov and some senior Necropolis staff, and the transcripts are listed below. KAZIMIR BOYTSOV enters the camera’s field of view, walking towards the entrance to Necropolis’ Earth branch. Boytsov is an older man, and looks quite angry - he’s a bit pale, too. He looks at the camera, attention briefly grabbed by something. REPORTER: Mister Boytsov! What do you have to say regarding the allegations of corruption within Necropolis Industries? BOYTSOV briefly grimaces. BOYTSOV: The allegations are slander! Necropolis Industries is a venerable megacorporation with no history of this, this is slander! REPORTER: What abou- BOYTSOV continues walking, eventually pushing his way through the building’s doors with his bodyguard detail in tow. In addition to Mr, Boytsov, our reporter was able to speak with Dr. Lydumila Zavodskoi, a heavy industry researcher with Necropolis Industries that has significant sway over the megacorporation’s Earth facilities. LYDUMILA ZAVODSKOI stands behind a small desk, clad in a fancy suit. Unlike Boytsov, she appears to be well-composed. She’s also younger, and is staring at the camera. ZAVODSKOI: With the briefing out of the way, we can proceed to questioning. REPORTER: Could you shed any light on the recent corruption investigations? ZAVODSKOI: Yes, I can assure you that we are taking it quite seriously within Necropolis. Mister Boytsov has been quite tired as of recently, but we’re working to resolve the issue internally. ZAVODSKOI: My colleague in our security division can answer the question better, one moment. ZAVODSKOI steps away from the podium as a very large woman clad in a security uniform steps up to replace her. VOLVALAAD: Good evening, I am Marquess Kamilla Volvalaad. Our chief security office has placed his trust in me for this internal investigation, and I can assure you that we are dealing with issues that have been brought up by the public. Rest assured that the problem will be resolved in a matter of days. VOLVALAAD steps away from the podium, ZAVODSKOI takes the podium and begins speaking again. ZAVODSKOI: We anticipate that the current issues with Necropolis Industries will be resolved shortly. REPORTER: There have been rumors that Mister Boytsov has been ill recently, could you expand upon that? ZAVODSKOI: I assure you that Mister Boytsov’s health is being looked after by our trained professionals. Any further questions? The feed freezes on a still image of ZAVODSKOI pointing to a reporter in the crowd. The full press conference with Doctor Zavodskoi and Marquess Volvalaad can be found on our website, including an interview with Doctor Maria Klavan of the Necropolis research branch regarding supposed leaks in the megacorporation...

Hi! Again, very sorry for the wait. I very, very much liked your essay. I have a couple questions first: Other than Eridani and interstellar relations(which are both things I very much want to do, too), do you have ideas for any other factions in our lore? How do you feel about writing news articles? It's something we don't really do that often nowadays, which is rather disappointing, when you look at the past. Looking forward to your answers and wish you good luck. I'll be making the final decision on who to accept in a few days. -

BoryaTheSlayer replied to Scheveningen's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Hey, Schev! I'm glad to see your application and I really like a lot of ideas in your app. Extremely sorry about a very late response on this, but I was really hoping that other people on the team would keep you busy by asking you questions. I guess I'll just do that myself. Do you have any specific ideas on how you would write the history? While I actually don't see the "information dark age" as that egregious of an excuse, I do find it a very good idea to explain how corporations rose to power and a more descriptive history for all factions, so that everyone has plenty to go off. I also really don't want to leave Scarabs in the dark! But I also don't really know what to do for them, since adding new things to them could potentially shake them from the balance they currently enjoy. What would you do for them? New content? Events? Articles? Really looking forward to your answers on these questions. -
Boggle08's Human Lore Deputy App
BoryaTheSlayer replied to Boggle08's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Hello, posting here just to let you know that I DID read your application. I was really hoping for others to leave their feedback and ask you questions here, but, well, looks like noone's got any. Huh, weird! In any case, I'm very sorry for keeping you in the dark for this long. Anyway. I'd like to ask you some questions. Do you have ideas that you would like to work on, if you were to get on the team? How do you feel about working in a team? And I don't mean the human lore team-- I mean the lore team as a whole. I wholly agree with the point you make about Sol being similar to the Frontier in that there is no unified culture, identity. How would you work on this? I will be making the decision on who to accept in a few days, so I would love to see your answers to these questions and wish you luck. -
What should it be renamed to?

Questions. 1) Does her religion play an important part of her life, and how will you reflect her beliefs on station? Is it going to be as simple as going "oh Messa" on occasion, or does it go deeper? The tajaran religions are really fun and you can honestly make very fun characters by exploring the values of these religions within a character. I'm curious what you plan to do. 2) What are her views on other ethnicities and Tajara from the other factions? Does she really care where they come from, or is it all the same to her? 3) Are you going to RP with me more? -
Xaiver Trasen is Problematic - Timelines are Broken
BoryaTheSlayer replied to PTiberiusM's topic in Archive
I believe that this forum works as well. In any case. 1) The timeline is a bit borked, I admit, largely because the NanoTrasen page that has the Trasen family tree says that Xavier was born in 2346. I will try to fix this in a bit after consulting others. 2) Actually, from Zeng-Hu's page: "This proved instrumental during the colonization efforts of Mars and Luna. However, the success was relatively short-lived, as the economic hardships of the mid-22nd century hit the company hard. While never completely disappearing, the company was overshadowed by the rise of other corporations edging in on the field of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Zeng-Hu stayed in the background for years, though their continual innovations allowed them to stay somewhat competitive." I don't know what you're talking about, chief. This pretty much explains why the headstart doesn't matter that much. NanoTrasen specializes in genetics, and the advances genetics could also be considered advances in medical technology. While Zeng-Hu is the boss in the field of pharmaceuticals and just widely biological/botanical areas. It also is the leader in Medical technology. They pioneered cryogenics, cloning... I mean, I suppose I can add a sentence that literally says "Zeng-Hu is the leader when it comes to medical technology" but I think it's already pretty clear that they are. 3) Bluespace and warp is the stuff that drives our universe because without them most things would not be possible. We are already working on defining them a bit so it's not all confusing so this is all being worked on already. But please don't look into that stuff too much it's borderline magic lmfao. Also, there's no gate between Sol and Tau Ceti because they're literally right next to each other. The systems, even in real life, are very close to each other. 3) I'm scared of economy and I'll consult my lore colleagues on this, can't say much here. -
Finally after settling in a bit, I am opening the deputy applications. We need another person to be part of the great things we plan to do as well as be valuable members of the lore team. What I'm looking for in a deputy is someone who is willing and able. Please use the format from this thread: And writing a piece of your choosing regarding your ideas and criticisms on human lore. Your writing should demonstrate your understanding of the human lore and preferably focus on the corporate aspect of it, as our goal right now is to better reflect the corporate influence on the setting.

Instate the Complete Destruction of Virology, 2020: Collector's Edition

DOWN WITH THE OLD. While we're at it, also delete outbreaks since they're dumb too, unless we're gonna redo virology and make it actually fun instead of really boring and dull. -
HSF Titáv Coming To Tau Ceti From Its Trip Through The Frontier! The famous HSF Titáv, largely renowned for its operations in the Frontier colonies, is now within the territory of the Republic of Biesel, having arrived all the way from Perispolis with the help of the superfreighter’s bluespace jump drive. A shining example of Hephaestus Industries shipbuilding techniques, the superfreighter can carry an immense amount of cargo and other smaller vessels. This, naturally, comes at a cost of large power demand, for which the giant ship is equipped with one of the few supermatter cores. The ship is full of exotic goods from markets as far away as the Republic of Elyra and the Coalition of Colonies. In addition to its exotic goods, it will be bringing brand-new Hephaestus "Voyager" hovercars that are soon expected to fill the Tau Ceti markets. Already common in the Sol Alliance, the Voyager-series hovercars are expected to bring a great profit to Hephaestus Industries.

[Accepted] Caelphon's Command Application
BoryaTheSlayer replied to Caelphon's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Despite some questionable experiences with your dionae, you're an easy-going and calm person over all, from what I can gather. And I had plenty of pleasant experiences with your characters. I'd like to see how you would fare in your trial.
