  1. Those answers work for me, and you have my support. +1, and best of luck.
  2. Always gives me a sweet 1911 when I'm the detective and looks the other way when I steal a belt from the cadet lockers (cadets don't exist) 10/10 warden A+ oh also has a good backstory too I guess. To get more serious Frei, despite wearing a skirt, is a pretty competent character that I've had good interactions with on all my security characters. Nantei definitely knows how security works: I've seen them play every role (and play them well) aside from forensics technician (this role also doesn't exist) and none of their characters have struck me as unreasonable, which is high praise when I see a Space Vietnam veteran cadet several times a week. But I do have a few questions: 1). Will the psychological issues listed in Frei's records be a major issue for her as a head of security? 2). What is Caydence going to be like? I recall seeing them as a cyborg a few times, but have never really interacted with them.
  3. No worries on the delay, it's absolutely fine and I only felt slightly neglected I have addressed your concerns in my original post to an extent I find to be satisfactory without writing a 1,000 word essay.
  4. Borya's a pretty quality extreme role player, with Vesper and Hasam both being good characters even though I have no idea how to spell Hasam's name. I'm confident they will be telling us that the robots are going to steal our reproductive organs in no time at all if they get skrell, so they have my support. Remember to put a green +1 before you upload this post Schwann!
  5. BYOND Key: NewOriginalSchwann Character Names: Linh Truong the very green security officer, Marcelle Vernier the IAC surgeon, Leyli Qanbari the blunt paramedic, Elspeth Grant the MCPD detective, and rarely Edward Bennings the strung out scientist. There are a few others but I've either barely used them or they're just a character slot with a half-finished backstory. Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Garishly hot pink. Not applicable. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I have read all relevant lore, and then some. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I have always enjoyed playing as synthetics and the "human but not" element they tend to have - the different, logic-driven mindset they have can lead to unique character interactions. I've always been interested in that perspective of the synthetic - how their logical, process-driven view leads to a different conceptualization of the world surrounding them. Finally, it will allow me to view the game from a different perspective, both in and out of character (yay cooling units). Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: IPCs, even the shocking-human-looking shells, have a different thought process than humans do: a logical one that I briefly touched upon above. Furthermore, IPCs tend to be respectful and avoid falling into emotional pitfalls like humans do. They are also more easily adaptable to hazardous work environments, and (depending on the frame) can be found in a variety of fields. IPCs also vary by frame: shells are almost human in appearance (though robotic in mannerisms) while heavy industrial frames are hulking, clearly nonhuman machines. Different companies specialize in different frames, with different purposes (for example, a Hephaestus G1 would rarely be seen outside of a heavy industrial setting). Character Name: IRU-Agnes Please provide a short backstory for this character An Idris Incorporate shell produced roughly two years ago as part of the bank's efforts to create a team of dedicated asset retrieval agents that would, in time, become the IRUs as they are now known, IRU-Agnes (serial number IISU-014) was tasked with investigation and retrieval of troublesome assets that had a high potential to cause harm to her organic colleagues. The idea of using shells for asset retrieval was originally met with some doubt by members of the board, the efforts of the original twenty IRUs rapidly dispelled any doubts - IRU designation "Agnes" in particular proved to be surprisingly effective, proving itself (herself? It's always so hard to tell with these shells, you know) as profitable within a month. The concept of the IRU was now solidified, and IRU-Agnes was guaranteed a kind of consistent employment for the rest of her functional period. With the recent decisions made by the company boards of both Idris Incorporated and NanoTrasen to pursue further cooperation, it was deemed appropriate and reasonable to temporarily assign several IRUs to the Aurora as a gesture of corporate goodwill. IRU-Agnes, due to a history of effective service, was picked to be one of these units. With such effective reclamation units picked out, surely nothing would go wrong during the first few days of NT-II cooperation. Right? EDIT: What was her life like and how was her perception created? Agnes' daily life, before being assigned to the Aurora, consisted of providing excellent customer service and "reasonable force" alike, depending on the situation within her assigned region. She was assigned a district labeled as an "area of high securities risk" by Idris - the seventh district of Mendell City, where she has been stationed for the better part of her existence. Her work generally constitutes the graveyard shift in the district, at which point "all the crazy shit" happens (and the shift during which most humans are sleeping, especially those involved in starched-collar Idris jobs). Despite this "crazy shit" reputation the district has at night most of her work involved peacefully talking down her targets, as per Idris Incorporated customer service standards, leading to a reputation of being an IRU that was able to generally avoid using reasonable force (also as per Idris Incorporated customer service standards). IRU-Agnes has, in her two years of experience as an agent of Idris Incorporated, noticed that using diplomacy, even though she has the option to pursue more aggressive strategies, tends to achieve better results. The incident that defined this perception was one in which Agnes spent two hours discussing the return of a recently-purchased hovercar with a "problem customer" in order to settle his debt with Idris Incorporated: despite taking longer than more action-focused units, Agnes' diplomatic nature led to the successful return of required goods without damage to her chassis or the customer, and was lauded by her district supervisor. This perception of words over violence is one of the reasons (alongside her hyper-dedication to Idris) that she was tapped for service aboard the Aurora: after some incidents involving overly-enthusiastic IRUs aboard the Aurora that led to minor embarrassment on the part of Idris, the decision was made to send a more diplomatic Unit instead. What do you like about this character? Agnes is an extremely professional "person" that is trying her best to represent her owning corporation, and has had corporate regulations and directives literally programmed into her alongside her normal IRU directives. As such, she tends to favor talking rather than violence, but will resort to it when necessary, and is hyper-dedicated to her corporation, which could lead to conflicts with free IPCs, IPCs owned by other corporations, and those attempting to free IPCs in a subversive manner. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Solidly okay. I can make a decent character with good motivations that make sense, but tend to have some problems sticking out (or shuffling between characters constantly). I have plenty of experience on Baystation12, though I did not enjoy synthetic RP there - their IPCs were too human and cyborgs tend to lack character, sadly. Notes: - According to OOC (perhaps not the most reliable source) IRUs might be broken due to the new faction selection system for contractors, but I cannot confirm this. If IRUs are horrifically broken I do have a backup concept of a free (ish) shell surgeon that I can go into detail on. - I've agonized over whether or not to post this for a few days now. Ultimately the worst thing that can happen is this gets denied and I try again with a better application, so why wait longer?
  6. Still new to lesbay middle aged gay man nature reserve the medical wing here but Tyranny has been pleasant to interact with whenever they've played, runs the wing effectively as an interim CMO, and makes my ridiculous brainmed player chemical requests whenever I show up at the chemistry window, +1. Apologies for the brevity, but anything else I wanted to say has already been said - they're good.
  7. Hello, I was informed to post this here: It's good, but needs a future SSh-68 (and other depressing Soviet bloc helmets) to really sell the second-hand military surplus aesthetic.
