[Feedback] Moving the Bridge to the Construction Level
greenjoe replied to furrycactus's topic in Discontinued Projects
this seems like a great idea! A second staircase near this end of the station would be useful for being able to access the command area if elevators are disabled. Also, what would happen with the command bunker? it being near the bridge would likely still be useful, so it's current location would want to change too? -
oh heck yes, Val is a cool char and this is a cool item, huge +1 here

Let Liasion/Consular open a ghost spawner for an assistant.

This seems like a cool idea, I've seen the merchant can do a similar thing from a button in their base? +1 -
+1 from me, Kath is a cool char to RP with and this will bring some interesting new points for her (plus the stupid new change to job accessibility requirements have basically written her off from her job until she can get this)

you can use it, I played a chemist who uses a wheelchair before these rules were put into place
-
I still protest the fact that pharmacists cannot use a wheelchair. I don't see why this shouldn't be allowed, since they're not doctors, they don't need to be running around, they're making medicines in their pharmacy

CourierBravo/BejewledPot's Command Whitelist
greenjoe replied to CourierBravo's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I'd say you did well, seeing a round where I was in command alongside you, +1 -
I suppose you do have somewhat of a point... consular does indeed seem like more of a passive role compared to an actual head of staff... and I have been trying to handle a few things, such as asking Royalist citizens of concerns, but they have for the most part, not had any, and when I wanted to try something else (royal census stuff), I was told no, consulars don't do that, though alb said they consider something for it so I'm waiting on that.
-
In the future, I would talk with command about possible arrests of the captain, if they committed a severe enough crime to warrant it, and if that isn't possible, well, the cap can't be arrested. (though depending on the specifics of what caused the captain to break regs, an IR might be warranted after the shift instead)

I do have a good knowledge of regs and procedures, and I do agree that situation was a bit of a mess in the end and can avoid it in the future.

BYOND key: Greenjoe Character names:Some of my characters are: Selena Woolard, Joye Winton, Farah Alfarsi, Sabah Hirron, Rrhuyala Rrhakaslav'Karimi. How long have you been playing on Aurora?:I'm not entirely sure, over a year at least. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I want to play the command roles, basically, and some of the stuff like the consular officer sound like they would be fun to play Why did you come to Aurora?: I came here after I saw info about the server that got me interested in it. After playing on it a bit I found I like the HRP it offers. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yup Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I've been bwoinked over some things before but I'm pretty sure none of it was major, and I've not got any warnings I can see on record. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay can be seen as a form of collaborative storytelling, bringing life into a character and a world. Characters in roleplay, while played by people, may be completely different from the roleplayer's own personality, as the roleplayer can play the character as they want (or well, here, keeping in line with the rules, but even then there is quite a lot of freedom). Unlike a book or some video games, roleplaying can be much more open-ended, with plot changing depending on how the roleplayers play their characters out in it. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: They are the one in control of a department. They give directions and instructions to others, keeping the department in control. A good head of staff will co-ordinate with their department's staff, as well as the other command staff, to keep everything going smoothly, and allowing their department's staff's players to have a fun time. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: They should avoid stepping on the toes of their department's staff (for example, a CMO would not be making medicines if they have pharmacists to do so). They should also try to make sure other players in their department have fun, such as a CE setting up a project for their engineers to do. Meanwhile, as Consular, I would make sure to reach out to others (other NKA citizens for example), and RP with them. I would also avoid being in security's way, or chasing after security related things, as that is what they are here to handle, and definitely not a consular's. I'd try to avoid sitting in my office all shift, and go out to speak with others in places such as the bar or department lobbies too. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Like all landed nobles in the NKA, Naharashma Hasaranem'Raharani is required to do work for the Kingdom, and in her case this involved traveling to Tau Ceti to work as a Consular Officer at a Nanotrasen facility. However, her arival in the system was at a bad time, as she arrived not long before the 35th Solarian Fleet invaded, causing her to have to shelter in her house in Mendell City, worried that the Solarian Fleet would come down to cause much harm there. Thankfully, the Fleet was driven off, thankfully, and Naharashma did not run into trouble with that. Now, several months later, after she was helping New Kingdom refugees who had left Sol after the Tajara ban, she is starting her work as a consular aboard the Aurora. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? At first, consular officer, though I may well try others too, such as HoP or CE. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: I have a character ready to play as an NKA consular officer, Naharashma Hasaranem'Raharani. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'd say it is pretty decent, it's better then when I first started RPing, that's for sure anyway. I roleplay in several different places, including some other SS13 servers and non-SS13 places too. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes Extra notes:I hope this is okay, I've been kinda nervous about filling it out.

it's been a couple of weeks, has anything further been decided upon?

Feedback: A Loadout Refactoring Before It Gets Too Late
greenjoe replied to Waff-AI's topic in Completed Projects
this does seem interesting, though I am worried there may be cases where people are gonna not be able to bring some stuff cause they'd be over the new limit? though hopefully, with the points for many things reduced, it would not happen -
okay to bring better feedback Vision: it should be split into four categories , with the new category being 'heavily flawed'. This would cover more severe visual impairments while not actually being blind. I imagine most of the service jobs would be okay under this, as well as psych? unsure of other jobs, however.

redacting this message, missread a thing
-
I'd want to suggest that the mobility requirements for the pharmacist are looked at again, since I feel it's reasonable a pharmacist in a wheelchair could do their job okay. I also suggest an extra section is added to the job accessibility requirements regarding vision: colorblindness and various forms of visual impairment.
-
I'd feel that pharmacists should be okay with being Heavily Movement Impaired, as they're just working in the chemistry lab and moving medicines into the fridge, which should be reasonable for them to do in a wheelchair. I'd also think that regular scientists doing work in the R&D lab would be okay with being in a wheelchair, as they're not doing any specialist work that requires more moving around like a toxins researcher or archaeologist would be doing.
-
I'll also add that this thin black text on dark red is kinda hard to read? or at least it is on the white pages of the wiki
-
I think botanist was missed from the list? Eyesight issues such as colorblindness of various degrees are also not covered in this. I was also previously told a wheelchair-bound pharmacist is something allowed, and that seems to have changed with this?
-
Just like the title says, make it so when you go to amputate a limb it'll give a box with yes or no asking if you want to do this. I accidentally missed a step in making an incision on the head to open the skull, and when I went to bone saw, it just started cutting the neck, so I had to move to stop it, causing rib damage, which, while better then accidentally decapitating the patient, is still not good. The second suggestion would be to have a way to stop a surgery step you started without moving and harming the patient. btw I know the rules say one suggestion per topic but these are two rather closely related suggestions, both covering surgery.

if security was removed, what would defend the station's crew from threats?
