I really don't see how this adds anything. It's just taking away and causing issues. The current medbay 'pool' is pretty low rn, and adding more limits seems counter-intuitive.

Revert Garnascus' ruling on roundstart borer hosts.
Peppermint replied to Kintsugi's topic in Rejected Policy
I don't think people should be forced into playing borer host. At least with cult, you have the option of dying/being constructed if you don't want to play regular cult. For borer, there is no such option. Whilst I had an absolute blast in my last borer round (as a host), the rounds I've tried before that was garbo. Was was a friend of mine's borer - in the same round - instantly going full retard and then ghosting, which left her stuck until an admin removed it. There should always be some choice over how you wanna play your round. -
[Accepted] Peppermint - Command App #2
Peppermint replied to Peppermint's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Aww x.x That means a lot from both of y'all, especially due to the issues of last time. Thanks ❤️ -
I agree with toxins being utterly ridiculous. Especially on ling rounds and that necrotic organ repair can act a 'lil funny. But at the same, it's considerably easier to die at medical right now. I'd like there to be shrapnel changes so it actually does something, and increased damage of ballistic weapons to the body. I don't think the damage of low blood needs to be increased though. Especially with things like vampire.

I think it's okay provided we also make more distinction of what each brand of doctor can do. According to the wiki, EPs can't do arterial bleeds which seems...really silly. The same for shit like lung damage where without a chemist, they are going to die, and you kinda just wait there whilst it happens. A big reason myself and others stick with surgeon (at least imo) is due to how you can do literally anything, rather than being 'lol joke, I know how to fix this person but I'm not allowed to' RP, which is pretty darn sucky.

..shit! Wrong person! I'll edit my thingy accordingly, sorry ^^. -
[Denied] Marlon Phoenix Command Whitelist
Peppermint replied to a topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Sorry! Totally wrong person, I got you confused for someone else. No opinion either way, thanks for pointing it out. -
I personally don't like them, but I think people should style their characters however they want. If they don't mind their character looking silly..then..whatever?

I think we need to talk about processing in Security.
Peppermint replied to BurgerBB's topic in General
Eh? Who cares about processing? I've never known anyone to complain about it. I think a decent part of this also comes down to who is playing sec at the time. Extended tends to draw a very different crowd to secret, who are more likely to RP and less likely to just slam every charge they can 'just cause'. -
[2 DISMISSAL; Bin 07.01.2020] Security Skirts (Again)
Peppermint replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Archive
A decently fitted skirt really isn't that movement restricting. Please make them pretty though! The feminine clothing options are pretty ick for anything outside of the fancy dresses. -
Random viruses were removed? When? As for scrubbers, I'd just like their weird hitbox to be fixed. It's annoying to get zapped through a wall whilst other people standing right next to it are fine or the like x.x

An amazing and well-thought out story; I cried. I very much hope when you get the white list, other characters realise what a badass he is and treat him accordingly.
-
Could we just remove it entirely? >.>

Modular shields and rework tactical shields
Peppermint replied to Faris's topic in Discontinued Projects
Sounds cool! The only worry I might have is due to balance. What's stopping someone taking say, an ablative shield and ballistic armour and becoming a nightmare for off-station antags to kill? Speed aside, anyway. -
[Accepted] Peppermint - Command App #2

Fowl, I would like to point out that the first issue - that you ahelped - was found to not have actually happened in the way you're describing it, and ruled as a non-issue as far as I'm aware. Perhaps you didn't know, but you can use grab intent on patients so long as they're laying down without causing issues. In the second instance, yes, a mistake was made and it was dealt with via said temp ban. I freely admit that was on my own head. There's a complaint on my forum profile for those interested in the details - it was a rule mix-up that I'm now aware of and have not, nor will, repeat(ed), and was not anything malicious or intentional. It's a shame you've had issues with me, as I find your characters interesting due to the friction they create. If you have any general feedback for the more mechanical side, feel free to DM me here or via discord. -
I like viruses being a random event. If anything, I'd like them to be more lethal as they're so ridiculously easy to cure. The main problem right now is that delta is lethal in higher doses as it causes cardiac arrest (dear god why!?). I'd like a virgoloy rework as it's really darn dull, as well as an increase of access to medical doctors/surgeons too. Aside from that, I think it's okay.

BYOND key: Peppermint96 Character names: In order of activity: Genevieve Francois - Security Officer Nina Thompson - Surgeon A couple of assorted randomers I've played one or twice and then never touched again: Moxie Delray - Security Officer. Sang Feng - Surgeon How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Fourish months? My activity can be pretty variable, so it's hard to put a proper cap on it. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I enjoy playing command roles elsewhere, plus I tend to do a lot of organisation within departments anyway. Why did you come to Aurora?: I write and RP a lot elsewhere, but took a rather long break. Aurora was supposed to just be a way to get back into it, but I ended up loving the community and sticking around. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: ✔ Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I've been informed of one note, though I'm not sure if I have more (For clarity, I probably do.). I have one warning and one temp (24 hour) ban. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: I feel like it's just another medium of entertainment/storytelling/creativity, with the added bonus that it's done around other people. So there's plenty of reactive play that you do not get in a book, movie, or most video games. A lot of the excitement comes from the way people around you react, especially when it's in ways you don't expect. Which, in turn, drives creativity to further the main goal of story telling. And then, of course, escapism via 'being' in whatever genre of choice. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Two main reasons, really. The first is to help facilitate the stories other people want to tell, by helping to enable their plans. This is especially important when it comes to antag roles and trying to meet everyone halfway; offering an enjoyable narrative to both sides whilst trying to include as many people as possible. So, in other words, avoiding the trap I feel many people fall into and only having command/security deal with antags. A head should be helping to make sure everyone feels included. Then the second reason is to inject a little excitement or variety into the round if nothing else is going on, as well as to be a port of call for in-game guidance if they're a departmental head. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: None that are any different to any one individual. I think people should, whilst of course finding their own fun, be conscience of the other people playing and go out of their way to ensure their stories also work. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Mostly (so far as I can see) increasing/decreasing racial tensions. IPCs, whilst still with plenty of stigma and hate, are becoming begrudgingly more accepted. Though the SLF actions may be hurting this progress, depending on personal belief toward violent protest. There as also been increased pressure on the Tajaran wars to find some form of agreement, with the formation of coalitions hardly seeming to help. Even NT has weighed in, whilst the Eridani contractors no longer see the fight as being worthwhile for their contracts. Due to said tensions and the likelihood of more, diplomatic characters are increasingly required. Especially on a station like the Aurora, with a whole host of different backgrounds working together. There's also the whole ongoing Skrell issue, but to be honest I've not really kept up. There's the extra pressure from the government and increased incursions by Jargon forces, one of which led to Easter's death. As such, tensions are likely high and multiple people are probably waiting for an excuse to cause issues, which wraps into the first paragraph. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? HoP/Captain for now. I like the thought of HoS, but I feel the role is bloated right now and enjoy the players as is. Likewise CMO would be fun, but I'm not entirely comfortable with it yet. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Felicity Larson - CMO Elizabeth Harrington - CMO How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Like everyone else, it depends. I feel like my characterisation is pretty good, but still move toward reactivity rather than proactivity. Hence wanting to start as HoP and work upward from there to see what command is like on this server. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? ✔ Have you familiarise yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? ✔ Extra notes: I would ask people to remember that IC and OOC are not the same thing. My characters can be rather abrasive and mean on occasion, but that does not mean I hold those opinions OOC. I've had a few people under the impression that I have some issue with them due to IC issues, though have cleared it up via PMs.

I'll read the guide ^^ May pester you after once exams are done.

I don't like this either. Very easy to meta it and you can just co-ordinate with friends if need be for roles. Showing roles doesn't really bring anything positive. It'll hurt the more passive players whom queue up for a contested role, whilst this is a HUGE indirect antag buff.
-
I kinda really wanna say -1, as I barely see Song these days and Dauphine is my new fav IPC to play with. So adding more characters to the mix would mean seeing them even less >.> . But I think that says a lot about their ability and the enjoyment they bring to the community. A big plus one on roleplaying skill alone. I can't comment on the backstory itself, but the actual player is lovely and a brilliant roleplayer.

Sounds cool ^^.

I feel like this would just make the problem worse. The round itself in design is okay, but what people do with it - the stealth delta, the electrifying, ect- are the problem. Adding in traitors just makes the mode even more of a headache.
