  1. This is one of the best Skrell backstories that I have read. Truly, exactly what I envisioned when I wrote. I love that your Skrell had conflicts, that they didn't blindly follow the Jargon Federation, and I especially enjoy the reasons for all of it. Amazing. This application has my every ounce of support.
  2. So regarding this, NanoTrasen (and the SCC) essentially control Biesel. If the megacorporations were to suddenly disengage the Republic of Biesel, and retract their assets, the economy would collapse. Biesel relies on the SCC just as much as the SCC relies on Biesel. I wouldn't say that the TCFL represents a significant risk, remember, most of the equipment that they are getting are either sponsored by or purchased from the SCC. They know the weaknesses of their equipment, they know the flaws, they know the kill switches. Additionally funding just means that the SCC has less to worry about in regards to their corporate facilities across the CRZ being destroyed and/or raided.
  3. The Tau Ceti Foreign Legion has recently been promoted to the official armed forces of the Republic of Biesel, and with it came significant changes (mostly in funding). While the People's Protection Arc isn't exactly finished, what do you think the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion could do better? How do you think they could improve their reputation?
  4. Article #3 of the People's Protection Arc Tau Ceti Foreign Legion Updates Arsenal The Tau Ceti Foreign Legion has released information regarding its arsenal refurbishment, including equipment awarded to the organization from the conglomerate megacorporations that resulted in a significantly boosted ability to handle several situations in which the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion has already been involved, notably within the Corporate Reconstruction Zone. Several of their hardsuits have been repurposed to instead be used during training exercises, and instead have been replaced with technologically superior hardsuits that are designed to withstand the abuse given to the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion across the Corporate Reconstruction Zone, especially experienced after the initiation of the Peacekeeper Mandate. The organization has already begun to supply its forces deployed across the Corporate Reconstruction with its upgraded equipment, with the first shipments already having been delivered to Mictlan by the Orion Express - with the new megacorporation having been awarded the contract by the Republic of Biesel shortly after the promotion of the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion, and the need to disperse its equipment due to its stretched thin logistics lines - which should shortly be relieved due to the additional funding and assistance from the Orion Express. 5. Double posting, yes. Additionally I don’t think people grasp how long one year is. That is a consecutive 365 days without playing ANY rounds whatsoever. A lot can change in a year on Aurora, and I’m going to admit I don’t trust people who going on a year-long hiatus to join again and be up to date. You make a choice to not play for 365 days, it’s not a mistake. I understand that real life takes precedence, and it should. But do not forget the server moves forward as does your real life. If you cannot make one round in an entire year, then you’re best off building trust within the community again, and become adapted to our lore.
  6. I agree with most of the points that have been brought up regarding the pro-striping argument. We’ve had circumstances in the past where people do not play for months on end just to join and take up valuable slots during events. It’s frankly annoying and really fucks with event storylines, which we don’t need in the Launch Arc for NBT.
  7. Article #2 of the People's Protection Arc Republican Congress passes the People’s Protection Act The Republican Congress has announced that the People’s Protection Act of 2464 has been passed, and now makes up part of the grand system of legislation within the Republic of Biesel. With it, the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion is promoted to the official armed forces of the Republic of Biesel, receiving a significant increase in funding. The Stellar Corporate Conglomerate has additionally sponsored state-of-the-art infantry equipment, making much of the previous arsenal of weapons obsolete. The Republican Congress has 400 voting members: 80 Senators and 320 Spokespeople. The State Senate is composed of 42 Unity, 15 Social Progress Front, 11 Free Party, 7 Egalitarian Coalition and 5 Hadiist Party of Biesel Senators. The Tau Ceti Assembly of Spokespeople has a total of 125 Unity, 98 Social Progress Front, 48 Free Party, 32 Egalitarian Coalition, 17 Hadiist Party of Biesel Spokespeople. These representatives then voted on the future of the Republic of Biesel. The State Senate found itself with a successful passing of the People’s Protection Act with 35 Unity, 9 Social Progress Front, 1 Free Party, 0 Egalitarian Coalition and 5 Hadiist Party of Biesel Senators voting for it to pass, totalling 50. The Tau Ceti Assembly of Spokespeople found itself with a successful passing of the People’s Protection Act with 102 Unity, 34 Social Progress Front, 8 Free Party, 6 Egalitarian Coalition and 17 Hadiist Party of Biesel Spokespeople voting for it to pass, totalling 167. The elevation of the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion to the armed forces of the Republic of Biesel has seen most of its previous responsibilities being absorbed by the Department of Defense, resulting in much of the official megacorporate influence over the organization having been severely diminished. 8. Beginning of the People's Protection Arc Article #1 Promotion of the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion The Tau Ceti Foreign Legion has assisted the Republic of Biesel in asserting its sovereignty throughout its existence, beginning in 2459. Comprised primarily of those seeking life within the borders of the Republic of Biesel as one of her citizens, the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion has found itself becoming an integral part of the multicultural atmosphere hosted within the Republic, with enlistment considered one of the more common bondages between citizens in a recent survey. It is with this that it was inevitable that the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion would find itself becoming more integrated within the Republic of Biesel than it has ever been, with the introduction of the People’s Protection Act within the Republican Congress, instituted by President Dorn following a meeting with his ministerial cabinet. The People’s Protection Act includes within it promoting the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion to the official armed forces of the Republic of Biesel, including with it a significant increase in funds that would allow the revitalization of its arsenal. It also includes provisions regarding the ability for megacorporations to sponsor the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion. The Republican Congress is said to convene to vote on the introduction of the People’s Protection Act later this week, with many considering this a monumental moment in the history of the Republic of Biesel, with those within both the State Senate and the Tau Ceti Assembly of Spokespeople having a big decision ahead. 9. The Republic of Biesel currently serves as our central setting, especially considering everyone lives and breathes within Tau Ceti. What do you think could be improved on or added? *New Gibson is receiving several revisions.

  11. We have accepted the idea you've sent here, and will likely adapt it quite heavily. This application is considered accepted.
  12. After speaking with the Lore Team, we have decided that the PMCG will instead have an addition revolving around space-based operations. Thank you for your application, however, we are denying it.

  14. Beginning of the Training the Horizon Arc Article #1 Project Venator Revealed by Stellar Corporate Conglomerate! The Stellar Corporate Conglomerate has revealed the finer details of Project Venator, unveiling its designation as the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate Vessel Horizon. It is a prototype vessel designed by the very best minds within the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate to hunt for Phoron deposits within the Orion Spur and beyond. The SCCV Horizon has been outfitted with technology not seen elsewhere in the fleets of the gigantic megacorporations. Those working within the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate will be given the ability to transfer their contracts to be completed aboard the SCCV Horizon. Included in the transfer of contracts is the possibility of being shifted to another megacorporation should they be awarded the contract in a department that is no longer equipped with employees from their original megacorporation. The Stellar Corporate Conglomerate’s spokesmen have commented on the symbolism of the selection of Horizon as the name of the vessel as an indication of the limitless possibilities that are coming thanks to the combined efforts of the conglomerated megacorporations of NanoTrasen, Zavodskoi Interstellar, Idris Incorporated, Hephaestus Industries, Private Military Contracting Group, Orion Express and lastly Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals. There are few obstacles to overcome in the future with the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate at the helm. Date: 01/14/2464
  15. You know what. I actually HATE Goolies. Doesn't apply for Skrell, but applies for UNATHI. Smh. Anyway. Here are some questions: Goodluck. There are no wrong answers.
  16. Oh, I was just citing examples! Basically, you can tackle whatever "what if" situation you wish to do. You can make up your own too.
  17. What if Adhomai was discovered first, in 2332? What if Unathi were as advanced as Skrell, and greeted Humanity before they even left Earth? What if the Lii'dra had won the Battle of Bursa? What if Sol had won the Interstellar War?
  18. Taken from Cael's Lore Staff announcement on the Forums The following articles have been editted, and/or retconned. Majority were found within the Mendell City Bugle. Articles that have mentions of the Syndicate are deemed voided and null, and instead when seen should be replaced with "anti-corporate groups" where possible.
  19. This is a standalone article. Orion Express revealed to the rest of the Orion Spur Stellar Corporate Conglomerate liaisons revealed today the establishment of a new corporation: the Orion Express. Created due to the growing strain in the SCC's supply chains and logistics, the Orion Express unifies the transport, delivery, and cargo departments of most corporations under a single administration. The fleets and distributions centers will be transferred first. Station supply will be the last one to be handed over to Orion Express. Because of its importance and size, Hephaestus Industries will keep its logistic structures. The creation of the Orion Express is expected to generate countless new jobs; vacancies for warehouse staff, ships crew, and couriers are already open. New offices and facilities are already under construction. Shipyards are bustling with activity as more ships are being commissioned. Specialists agree that the restructuration of the corporation's supply chains will contribute greatly to the economy. The SCC also aims to reduce the effects of the ongoing phoron shortage through improvements to its logistics. Alongside the new corporation, the SCC announced the creation of the Orion Express Market, an extranet shop uniting all of the corporate online stores into a single domain. The customers can now acquire all of their products in a single place. Delivery will be handled by the Orion Express' courier division. Delivery is currently available to all known space, with the exception of the governments currently embargoing the SCC or the Republic of Biesel. Hong Chin-Hae was elected as current CEO of the Orion Express. SCC confirmed the involvement of the new corporation in the project Venator. Date: 01/09/2464
  20. What do you think about the history of the Orion Spur (the "timeline", even if it is human-focused)? Do you think there are parallels?
  21. LORE DIARY ENTRY #11 This is a lore diary entry for DECEMBER 2021. See below for changes to lore in this month! Major changes in the spoiler below! There's 1 Diona entry. Medium-sized, niche changes in the spoiler below! There's 1 Tajaran entry. Small additional fluff in the spoiler below! There's 4 Tajaran, 1 Diona, 1 Unathi, and 2 Skrell entries.
  22. Taken from Schwann's announcement in the Lore Discord: While not a lore addition, per sey, Dominia's articles have at long last. While every article has been reworked to an extent, the following articles have been completely retconned: There are now significantly less articles overall, but what remains is no longer lore-breaking. Hooray! More lore soon, and it's not for Dominia. I promise. Enjoy! https://forums.aurorastation.org/topic/8646-dominia-imperial-news-network/
  23. Articles that have been retconned will be moved to this thread, wherever possible. Include where it was located, and why it was retconned.
  24. The page is outdated and I'd rather rebuild it from the ground up. We'd need to analysis many factors and whatnot to explain things and I'd rather have a new foundation than a pre-existing one.
  25. I would not equate what we see on the Aurora as what occurs everywhere. The Aurora is a very small segment of a much larger setting. Also regarding the notion of free healthcare: I do not think it exists, and likely is in the form of a fund paid by the employee with each wage. It deducts 2% of the wage and goes to a fund, which then pays for surgeries and whatever else. This fund has a limit, and when it reaches that limit said employee must pay out of their pocket for any additional medical fees throughout the year. That's how I see it. Tentatively, I think thats the way it should be until I can put it on the wiki.
