Not gonna happen. Removing content "until its reworked" is effectively a death sentence. Aliens had huge issues for months but where never really fixed because it was content that had to be adminbussed in.

So, i will be dropping a week ban on dasfox as a result of this complaint. There where lots of issues with your behavior from this round but in my opinion the most damning ones are the incident with the dominate, the incident with ordering the execution of the HoS. The execution of the RD is also pretty suspect but from i am reading they seem to have been a hulk and using their vampire powers? Even still i cannot really buy "i thought they where an experiment". Its kind of on you to verify your targets. I think not stepping in to stop the arrest of the HoS was explicitly against the dominate orders, you have absolutely no reason to allow the arrest of someone you deem to be innocent. Unfortunately given your LOOC comments i really do think this was just an excuse to attempt to lawyer the situation. Even if i am willing to believe a particular message did not show up for you it is very difficult for me to believe it just so happens to be the most critical message and one that would have prevented you from ordering the execution of the HoS. The most likely answer is you tunneled during the moment. An understandable reaction but one that does place you at fault. I am dropping such a heavy ban because of your history of powergaming, validhunting and other shenanigans. I am not dropping a permanent because you've been quite clean for a while and your history of actual bans is surprisingly scarce. With all of this said i will consider this complaint resolved. So heres the specific dominate message that was issued to dasfox. So if i understand things correctly you where the leading trooper in this situation. you stopped aiming at the HoS but you still allowed the other ERT trooper to... arrest an innocent HoS? This seems sketchy even if i accept that you where "waiting on an ahelp". Which i do not. This is absolutely not a thing. If you have a problem with actions in the round you can always ahelp. Until a staff member deals with it you're expected to roll with it and keep playing. This reasoning seems a bit strange to me. You do not need innocence proven here. It is as proven to you as it could possibly be proven. A supernatural force has gripped your mind and assured you of such. The HoS was 100% innocent in that moment and i think to assert that it was reasonable to allow the other trooper to arrest them is negligence at best and powergaming at worst. I will make a final decision by Tuesday morning but this seems to be the most glaring issue to me.

only thing i am really worried about is a lot of effort being put into this and it not really working out. Which would put us in an awkward limbo of pushing through and making it work or reverting back to what we have now. A risk im willing to take though and it might not even play out that way. Literally what happened in the round that prompted kaed to make this thread. Cultists converted some of security and killed the rest and went to cargo. Cultists try to break in and kill the brave cargonians. The cultists got rekt. I do not remember how kaed got hurt but he did a /pray asking for a boon from the geometer. Sometimes i do fun things for people, this time i turned him into a juggernaut. The poor juggy decided to walk down the hallway towards cargo. Unfortunately the militia members where nearby and after just fending off a cult attack you can understand why they where not really in a talking mood. They killed poor kaed. People might make militias for dumb reasons. this was not one of them. The questions should generally be "did this people have a good reason to form a militia and fight back against the cult? yes? ok great." We shouldnt break out the microscopes and go HOOOOOLD ON ALL SIX OF YOU BETTER HAVE WEAPONS TRAINING IN YOUR RECORDS AND WHY IS THAT AFOIAHSFIHDSJGLH:O"JLHKL. come on now, theres definitely points this can get stupid. Imagine the militia forming on hearsay and killing sec on it.

I mean yeah that does sound reasonable to me. I imagine its not realistic to ALWAYS use limb dislocation in place of cuffs but if you do not have any other option. I am quite certain there is a line but this does not cross it with the explanations given to me. I really do consider this resolved. Though i would probably encourage the raiders to better scour for cuffs next time. Cable coil is abundant after all.

Spent a whole lot of time hashing out a potential policy change from this. The TLDR here is that things are going to remain the same. CCIA do not want visitors to have their implants turned on. They feel its very very easy to catch someone in a lie and then BTFO them. As is exactly what happened to price unfortunately. There is always the possibility that this could become a serious issue but as it stands right now its not a big enough one for me to force it on CCIA. Nobody was punished OOC for this complaint. It was valid for Camp to do IC. Thread will be locked and archived in 24 hours.

We do not want to dole out punishments. The goal anytime a staffmember bwoinks you is that they are reasonably certain that you will not break the rules again in the future. This reasonable certainty can be comprised of a lot of factors, such as your attitude about the offense itself. It can also take into account the various times you've broken other rules or how many temp bans you've accrued here. In this case you explicitly admit that breaking this particular rule was "worth it" in the face of whatever punishment you would receive. On top of all the various temp bans you have on note there is no way to be reasonably certain you will follow the rules if a lesser punishment where to be given. I am sorry but i do think it reasonable that abosh gave you the harshest punishment we can place, a permanent ban.

After discussing this with CCIA internally they have created a draft of the new station directive. Please leave any feedback, questions, comments or any concerns at all you might have. The current plan is to make this an official IC station direction one week from the time of this post.

Gonna discuss this internally with staff to decide if we want to implement new policy or not. As i understand it CCIA do not feel it affects issues enough to matter. Lies are generally very easy to to discern in investigations. I personally believe we have higher expectations of actions under the influence of a loyalty implant. Perhaps we should have the same expectation when a HoS/Captain is being interviewed. The easiest way would be to wave a magic wand and assume loyalty implants are turned on during the interview. so that whatever is acceptable in one situation it is also acceptable in the other. We will need some time to hash this out.

hrmm We might be able to discourage it for normal day to day operations but allow the authority in special cases. Like if the station isn't ACTUALLY at red alert because the mercs killed 2 out of 3 command.

Alright this song and dance has gone on far too long. Determining who is less shit here is really not something i am interested in.
