  1. MONGOLIAN MONDAY!

  2. Sorry for the wait. I'll accept this, but be on your best behavior.
  3. Aticius is a good roleplayer, and I think trustworthy enough to be given this whitelist. +1
  4. I support this. It's frustrating to play an androgynous (or even nb andro) character and have someone metagame it based off 'well it says he/she when I examine you.' I would much prefer in a lot of cases (especially as some aliens) to just have they/them.
  5. What is your plan to improve from your previous history?
  6. I have compiled a list of uses for a knife. Removing tags from clothing, opening packaging, opening an envelope, everything related to food, cutting string, cutting a shirt, cutting tape, cutting a seatbelt, cutting through material to bandage a wound, shanking a dude, a spoon/fork/knife, whittling something if you need to, making a fire if you need to, that fucking clamshell plastic packaging, you could heat it to cauterize a wound, and none of this takes into consideration 'what if your knife has other tools in it'. If it has a serrated edge, even more uses. You could cut zip ties, you could cut rope, you can use a knife as a screwdriver or wirecutters.
  7. Except for switchblades/balisongs/tactical knives/energy knives. I will copypaste the reasons I sent Garnascus. 1) i find it funny that literally every boot in this universe canonically has a knife sheath and i want to justify this 2) knives have utility functions and many peoples' every-day-carry irl loadouts have a pocket knife somewhere in them 3) security can't be everywhere at once and at some point in your day you might need to protect yourself and others. similar to why the barkeep has a shotty. 4) i don't see much of a problem, considering the knives you can even get without plasteel and such are pretty shitty 5) we could add utility pocket folding knives and such to the loadout (this is an optional feature of the suggestion, do not hyperfixate on it.) 6) why not
  8. None of this is very specific or explained. How are we nerfing RP?
  9. My experience with Gough has mostly been them being very, very quiet at about all times. How will this be changed?
  10. Very few scientists actually have R&D as their core focus. Most of them have another focus entirely. Circuits. Modular weapons. Telescience. Xenoarcheology. Anomalies. Phoron research. Xenobio. Xenobotany. Secret chems/other horseshit. This takes very little out of their role.
  11. I explicitly support this much for the same reasons as Danse. Less for the very wide scientists, more for the very narrow roboticists. Also, the break room is adorable.
  12. Also, one more thing, can we please trade removing a cadet for removing General Officer.
  13. Just talk to the members of your assigned department. Get to know them. Bond. Make new friends. It's what you're here for. It should, honestly, be expected that if there's only 5 people playing the game, it's not going to work at max efficiency.
  14. I have rapidly realized that this is a horrible idea. Locking it myself.
  15. I will code this. Now that large text hour is done, let's get into the meat of it. Security has a lot of various equipment, each of them with a counter, essentially. Pepperspray is rather powerful, but can be stopped by airtight lenses and gas masks and such. Flashes are disorienting and at least somewhat help, but can be stopped by tinted lenses. Tasers are long-ranged tools stopped by having a high siemens coefficient. Rubber bullets are much similar to tasers. However, in this case, there's one ring to rule them all. The stunbaton. A catch-all device that can penetrate essentially anything you do to stop it; there's hardly armor effective against a harmbaton. Best of all, it doesn't have any real downsides in use. Doesn't do any lasting, meaningful damage. You can torture (paincrit) someone all day and get away with it. Here's a suggestion. Replace it with the telebaton. The telebaton is a similar melee option to the stunbaton, functioning as a catch-all, but it would still be blocked by having armor. Best of all, it would have a downside in the form of, wow, actually hurting people, and hopefully this would get people to care about excessive force rather than torturing the shit out of people with no repercussions.
  16. A few brief, probably open-ended questions. 1) What is your opinion on the current state of Diona mechanical balance? 2) How important do you think it is for Diona to be invested in affairs regarding the other factions in our setting lorewise? Why or why not? 3) Do you think there is enough roleplay material regarding Dionae that isn't related to their physiology? 4) What are your opinions on Dionae heads of staff?

  18. The problem here was that you weren't beaten at all. Nobody used anything but nonlethal tools on you. Being that you were noncompliant with Security, and noncompliant with those who told you not to throw stuff at bar patrons, it's no surprise that you weren't detained like that.
  19. Essentially, I tried to get a great grasp of the scenario (as best I could from the lobby) and thought through it. But, most of my decision came from conferring with Shadow and @Cnaym in msay, in which we pretty much all agreed it was gank, especially given that guard wasn't even protecting Lynn at the time, your quarry. Getting blown up the minute you open a door, instead of perhaps just getting a 'fuck off' shot in the chest, is kinda lame. It wasn't even really a passive trap, just an active call to shoot the tank.
  20. I fully agree. Neither of these jobs are really feature complete separate from each other, Detective is especially bad.
  21. I think it should be important for the Heads of Staff to also retain control over their officers on blue alert. They need to be decentralized from the main Security body where possible (except, I guess, on code red, and manhunts/*severe* emergencies) or it's completely missing the point. It turns from 'departmental security' to 'security stationed in departments.'
  22. I have some serious reservations about this. Your character is.. a diplomatic war veteran physicist? I'm curious what conflicts they were in for 35 years to be this level of injured, and how Federation healthcare hasn't taken care of it. You've hardly touched at all upon the psionic nature of the species. Given the number of administrative actions on you lately, and some of the roleplay I've observed from characters like Praxton and your Vaurca, I'm choosing to deny this. Come back in a month.
  23. I don't think I can really support this. You have a habit of being very vindictive and sometimes reductive about things in the lore you don't like. Often, instead of offering a way to make these concepts 'good', you'd rather remove them. This isn't what I'd like from a loredev. You're almost *too* invested in the lore and it can be offputting.
