Minor edits and tweeks to the Sol Alliance Military page on the wiki since people have been using it religiously when it's over two years out of date (you dummies). Likewise tweeked the the timeline of humanity to semi match up. The Free Assembly or "Freedom" is now here, so get your workmans boots on and get ready to bash the fash fight ATLAS weenies. More Mars shenanigans soon, why not break the mold and be a pro-Alliance Martian, maybe even stay loyal to ATLAS and not be little traitors haha. Plugging the Frontier Factions, good for character concepts. Why not create a Dominia Unathi? Earth tweeks incoming so watch this space.

As Travel Ban Locks Into Place Trouble Makers Slip Through The Net 11.09.2459 As the travel ban enters full effects port security cameras spot what seem to be two individuals sporting the emblem of the Free Assembly. The travel ban was introduced by the Ministry of Travel and prevents entry to both Mars proper and its orbital space. The purpose was to prevent an influx of armed troublemakers and terror groups from infiltrating the planet but images leaked to Alliance News portray what appears to be members of the Free Assemblies 'Frontier Milita' walking through a crowded Martian space-port with one of the individuals looking directly at the security camera. "This is exactly what the ban was trying to prevent" Mars born Port Commander Francois Van der Merwe told Alliance News reporters "the fact that they were able to enter the port wearing their terrorist insignia on full display is chilling. We are conducting a full investigation into this security lapse." The two individuals have yet to be indentified and an increased police presence has been station at all star ports across Mars. Sol Security Officer Germain Thomas told reporters "the fact that they are openly displaying their affiliations to security cameras and also seem to be aware of and sought out the cameras themselves clearly shows their intent to sow discord amongst the public. We advise any civilians upon spotting the pair to seek a safe place and report their location to the local police or security teams." When pressed to answer why officers were so slow to attend the scene Officer Thomas disclosed that "we did not react as swiftly as we could as no calls were received from the public. We can only surmise that any citizens who noticed the pair were cowed by fear and so did not contact security."

Hello, hello! First off thank you for the feedback, it's highly appreciated. I've given the location of the clan some thought. I've decided I'm going to go with the following. I'd like to think the clan is situated on lands rather close to the Izweski Hegemony's own territory, but at a distance from the main battlefield. Not too far so that the battle is irrelevant and poses no threat, but not too close so that the clan is engulfed by the battlefields. If that makes sense. Regarding the atomic exchange, I have made the alteration to make this quite a threat to the clan. The lands are close to the wasteland, close enough that within the next decade or two the clan will be engulfed by the radiation fields. This would further strengthen the reason for sending out members to work and send remittance to the clan. And now the character themself! I've decided on Isazki being 33 years of age at present. Which would have made him 23 during the final year of the contact war. Decided department would be security unless some drastic change alters this. Security made the most sense for an Unathi raised as a warrior, as well as raised with honour due to the fact that a cornerstone in security work is protecting the innocent, which may be considered dishonourable not to do. I hope this clears up your questions, if you have more do feel free to make them clear in another reply. Sounds good to me bud! +1 all the way.

Synths a cool guy and a decent roleplayer so from a purely "RP potential" angle I think he fits the bill. Questions regarding your Unathi boi: You say his clan lands were far away from the battlefield, where? Did they not feel the impact of the atomic exchange? What happened to his clan? How old is he? What role will he be working in? Why? I'm glad you're going to go for a straight edge Unathi as we've got a lot of Guwan characters and though they're quite decent, it is getting tired in my opinion.

Thanks for the compliment! The story intentionally focused on Shiur's family because family is one of Shiur's primary concerns, and it plays a large role in her origin. The sister character will not be present at this time and I have no plans to use her as an alt, (which doesn't stop her from being hired by NT) however, I believe Nanotrasen is and has been quoted as the largest sources of employment in Tau Ceti. Nanotrasen is a gargantuan brand which has their fingers in many pies, and their employees enjoy bountiful benefits with the low low price of signing a few NDAs. But in regards to the character again, Shiur is intended to be played as a very sentimental and empathetic character. She doesn't think of herself very often, and I think it might introduce some interesting character development down the road. Sounds good to me. Solid +1. -

Nurse is a 10/10 roleplayer in my book and their characters are always a delight to roleplay alongside. The character concept seems solid, though the bio seems short. What sort of Unathi will you be going for? It seem like you'll be heading away from a staunch traditionalist which makes sense because she'll be a filthy Ouerea Unathi savage. Will the sister character be present on station as an alt? If not, whats Shiur'izzi's motivation for joining NT? -
Freedom Assembly Domestic Terrorists? Senator Forced to Step Down 11.06.2459 Senator Hedvika Svoboda of the Beta Alma sector was made to step down after evidence of her involvement with the Free Assembly came to light this week following a raid by the Frontier Militia on Artemis Initiative members. Though there were no casualties an injured Guardsmen unit were forced to retreat into outer colony space. Artemis Commander Garen Almasi told Alliance News that "the Initiative were contracted to defend local hydroponic farms from pirates and help train a local militia to help create a permanent defence system for the fledgling colony however we were ambushed and driven off by this 'Militia' who they proceeded to raid the outlying farms." Local Unity Station news caught up with Ms Svoboda as she left the senate where she berated the Sol Government claiming that "the ATLAS dominated floor of the senate seems to keep the 'private' Artemis Initiative at arm's length during its bouts of intergalactic outrage but close to the chest when it gets its buttocks spanked by free peoples only trying to protect their sovereignty." Ms Svoboda is being replaced by Mrs Daruska Pokorny of the GAIA party. Prime Minister Miles Chater told Alliance News that it was "a shame to see Ms Svoboda depart under such circumstances as this" but was "happy to welcome such an exemplary politician as Daruska Pokorny to the senate to represent the great people of Beta Alma." The so called 'Frontier Militia' released a statement through the Free Assembly or 'Freedom' as it is known on the ExtraNet following Ms Svoboda's replacement. "The Artemis Initiative were not there on contract and were acting as an arm of the Sol Alliance to claw further gains into free frontier space. We were coming to the aid of the farming colony at their request to remove those 'ATLAS boys' from the area. Why would a frontier state request assistance from ATLAS of all people? It's a shame to see SolGov use this as an opportunity to silence what it believes to be political dissidents. Though Hedvika Svoboda may have been a supporter of the Free Assembly she is not part of the frontier and neither is Beta Alma though with such heavy handed tactics SolGov sure is pushing them away. We warn the Initiative children to keep their garbage laser rifles and themselves inside SolGov space or expect more of the same. PS, thanks for the extra powercells."

03.11.2459 Missing Service Men Found Within New Cairo Three missing servicemen were found today as part of a region-wide search for nearly 50 missing men, women and children of the greater New Cairo area. These three servicemen, whose names are currently withheld, were originally volunteers for a search team assisting local law enforcement. Upon their disappearance the 13th Battalion Army Corp were mobilized to the search area, leading to the horrific discovery. Our reporter Mobina Soroush spoke with Master Ranger Dilshad Friar for clarification. “It was a massive tunnel into the side of the mountain just beyond Lake Serenity. We found the three of them unconscious just laying in this soupy black stuff. All around them were animal bones and more of the mushy gunk. The smell was the worst though. I don't know why I didn't vomit I know some of those younger army guys did. I guess I was too nervous you know? I felt like we were being watched, maybe from the tunnel, I dunno. It was just-everything was too quiet. You know? No birds, no flies on the remains, nothing. You learn as a Forest Ranger that prey is quiet when predators are around and I just wanted to get out of there. ” The servicemen were moved to New Cairo Central Hopsital under stable condition. It is currently unknown if any of the other missing people were found in the area. After the initial discovery, the Elyran army has setup a blockade around the tunnel as part of an ongoing operation in the area. The ENN was unable to verify the existence of this tunnel prior to today. We've been unable to locate it on any of the geological surveys for the last 10 years

It sounds more like one off things to keep the round going. From a gameplay perspective it's better if a crew of ERT come aboard to set up the engine or players join to do it. Having a magic power transfer process opens up a can of worms lore wise. Other then that I just personally don't like the idea.

2459.11.02 The Era of Explorers; Largest Galactic Pilgrimage Since the Founding of the Empire This month has seen the largest known number of the faithful spread out across the stars on personal pilgrimages into other regions of human space. Citizens of the Empire are finding long term employment across the many human systems, principally Tau Ceti, Sol Space and the frontier regions. Holy Tribune Kasam Kaelesi of Ignotum Balteum took to the ExtraNet to remind the faithful that "although a personal pilgrimage is a sacred thing and is indeed encouraged amongst all subjects of Dominia, one must be mindful of the edicts at all times, specifically the Fourth Edict. Remember that through our Goddess, the Tribunal sees across the stars and with our sight, comes our divine judgment."

Staff Complaint: PrOwOatePresidenti & OwOxia
Zundy replied to DatBerry's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I'm glad you posted this. Frankly I'm disgusted, physically sickened by what I'm seeing everyday, all day from the so called "admins" of this server. They're distinct lack of courtesy, professionalism and respect is breath taking. I've have personally witnessed around one to two asexual harassment cases in this day alone, not to mention psychological power abuse the likes of which stuns me to near silence. Never before have a witnessed such poor character from the people I call mom and dad. Pathetic. Buy my mixtape -

You should have your suit sensors on. Getting lasered to crit is fair game, why should you be able to "help@me"? I'm all for this for the reason delts has ready said. -
I'd play, how you gonna run it? Through discord?

This would be great. It helps new player to understand which one of their characters would be put to best use for those sweet, sweet RPs. +1

Like the populist I am: ATLAS lore https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=ATLAS and; Human faction lore https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Minor_Factions has been updated. PM me via forums or discord if you have questions.

Not sure how I feel about that. Canonically folks can and do spend more then one shift aboard the station.

[Withdrawn] Datberry's Vaurcae LoreDev Application
Zundy replied to DatBerry's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Well I'm giving a +1. Berry seems genuine in his plans going forward for the ants, though I think you should take it account the thoughts and feelings of the current species players to avoid alienating them further since they're already having a bad time with the lore as is. -
[Accepted] Zundy - Human Lore Dev App

To my mind, the main focus should always be on Tau Ceti primarily, otherwise it becomes somewhat mastubatory. My stance on this is to keep a grasp on Tau Ceti, Biesel and the station as a main course and build upon other areas simultaneously. When I create more lore I'd be doing so whilst being mindful of the players playing their characters in game on the Aurora station. I want the lore to able to be used a driving force for roleplay, not just something cool to read on the side whilst players do their own thing. This would need to be discused with the Vaurca lore dev when one is selected, but I am looking for more ways the Vaurca can tie into the Biesel setting to encourage players to not just pick up the race, but for human players to get involved in Vaurca shenanigans as well. I personally had an idea for a player driven plot revolving around breeding a safer version of K'ois on station before this position became available, so it's likely I'd be exploring those sorts of angles. My main goal is to get the players involved and not guide them through a plot arc so much as set them up, give them a nudge and let them figure it out themselves. As perviously stated though, this all depends on how the Vaurca dev wants to swing the species and their mechanics. A lot of folks have become somewhat dejected with the ants based around the numerous rewrites which keep stopping roleplay dead in it's tracks so since that species is suffering, I'd like to offer support to the new Vaurca dev to spice things up and give the players of both humans and the ants something to have fun with. Well in the capacity of a lore dev I won't be shining a light on the already blinding star of a faction that is ATLAS, it's pretty much set for a long while at this point. I'll be updating their faction page to reflect in game changes that have been driven by the players but this will ring true for the other factions as well. I'm going to be reaching out some feelers in the very near future to gauage who's playing with what faction IG currently with the playerbase to get a feel on what to focus on next. As to why ATLAS is so popular, is because it's popular. A bit circular but to elaborate when the faction was originally created it had a handful of players who just liked the idea (standard with all early factions), it's xenophobic, imperalist, pro-human angle is quite a popular trope so it gathered more players. Then follows the edgy bois and grills who join for the potential for edgy roleplay, push the faction in that direction (shouting anti alien truth propaganda over comms) which attracts brand new players who haven't even read the lore yet because it's literally in your face when you step in game. These new players gravitate to the faction and the cycle continues. One other cool thing is that human players can pretty much be from anywhere in the galaxy at this point (even opposing factions), but still join ATLAS and be part of this big gang. ATLAS itself is a good starting point because it nets you "friends" and "enemies" immediately without having to go through the process of building these in game. It's a newbies dream. Now, I do have a plan to implement/tweek factions to draw on these same characteristics but with different ideological angles. In my mind they need to be reflective in game, easy to pick up, far reaching and inclusive, whilst being somewhat controversial. This seems to be the magic faction formula in my mind. I'd actually be interested to hear from other players as lore dev to see what faction ideas they have, as I know some folks have some pretty sweet concepts, but are nervous about voicing them on the forums. I want to hear these people. -

I totally understand where you're coming from and I agree that, though the recent history of ATLAS on the server had them as literal ridiculous jackboot stomping caricature neo-nazis (which has been corrected), there is a danger of the pendulum swinging the other way and them becoming so mild as to be pointless as a method to create roleplay other then, "hey, we're like in the same club bro!". I assure you my intention isn't to water down ATLAS, but to actually document what has gone on so far wiki wise so people know what they're getting themselves in for when the roll up and ATLAS boi/grill. There is of course, room for more nefarious ATLAS shenanigans which will get some game time after the other unloved factions get big hugs and taken out to dinner. -
Character wise I enjoy interacting with Robert Huntington as Mellis and player wise Moon seems pretty cool. The app seems solid as far as I can see and from what I can recall OOC IG Moon knows what their doing and, to echo the points above, is aware of the expectations of staff and players. +1 from me.

I echo the above. Pacman is a meme supreme but his dedication to the cross code is great and when it's time to actually talk business he's more the capable of dialing back the memes and getting serious. +1
