  1. Ey', Paradox. Let me preface this by saying i've had a little experience roleplaying with you, and I had no problems with the experience I have had. This is an extremely decent reply to the question. You've went into their long lifespan, their inability to communicate with other species as well as their own species, their weird perception of gender roles, and how many eclipse the other species of the galaxy in qualifications, as well as their cultural focus on the Scientific process. If I had any problem with this, it'd be that it's maybe a bit too concise, but I like it. This isn't a bad backstory, it's very unique and definitely far from the norm, though the Lore has outright said these sorts of Skrell exist, mostly as pariahs and fugitives, this won't go into my ultimate opinion, however I do feel it needs a bit more ironing out and detailing. But it does raise a lot of questions, as well. First of all, do you realise how old over 300 is, even for Skrell? I mean, certainly they can live that long, but that's very close to retirement age. There actually is an oldest Skrell in Lore IIRC, let me get their age real fast. Age 551 from the Warble inquirer. Ok, so it checks out. Next! The idea of being raised into a stockholm syndrome sorta situation is very believable, glorsh actively did this to the Skrell population, gaining supporters from within to report on their own and oust dissidents that way, since they were far less suspicious of each other than his Androids. This is great and I love that, I do however question the manner that they were serving Glorsh, could you go into more detail on the purpose of swindling supplies? What were they swindling? Materials, weapons, food? How did this help Glorsh, or did it only help her family? I'm a bit confused on that. Going on. When her family was found out, being a fugitive on the run is very true to the original wording on the wiki (That former Glorsh supporters are pariahs and fugitives) however I do wonder how they landed a job with NanoTrasen, is their past buried and hidden from NT? Does NT only have some of the story? Did they immigrate to Biesel and get new credentials since their old wouldn't be proveable unless NanoTrasen contacted a Federation that would want nothing more than for Pras to be extradited? I want you to fill in the blanks here for me. I also like the things you like about this. Pras makes an interesting Skrell, but I want you to go into detail of what i've brought up, or at least fill in the blanks. There are quite afew holes. Also, there's a typo I noticed. "their family were heavily" I think this would be had been instead of were.

  3. This turns the old system into a much higher RP and more believable Science. It seemed like a minor change when reading the proposition on Discord that made sense, but now i'm fully onboard even beyond that minor change. I think this'll mostly help traitors not be completely foiled when they try to feed poisonous fruit to people, which'll help as well.
  4. Absolutely opposed to removing Brain Traumas. And notice how a thread like this hadn't popped up when it was an easy surgical fix. Adjust the mechanic, don't remove it. It's the Psyches' only gameplay.

Tourettes could be changed to randomly blurt out words you've heard (Not always offensive like they are right now) and random body movements such as blinking, clearing your throat and twitching and it would be much more realistic and less literal meme. The current implementation of it is straight from LRP. The equivalent of randomly blurting out memes while brain damaged which also existed on LRP servers and wasn't conducive to roleplay. It really needs to go.

  8. I'd say keep the nurse hat, put the nurse suit into the costume crate. Nurses should probably stand out enough as nurses just with the hat.
  9. I fully support restricting Combat 'borgs further. They add little to the game besides being mass validhunting tools and frankly their only means of Combat being to kill shuts down rounds.
  10. I don't support outright removal, as it still removes a very large part of the Cyborg gameplay from the game, and basically destroys multiple gamemodes. (Malf AI, Paranoia, ETC) with very significant features and code backing. What i'd suggest instead is to move AI to be a whitelisted role and to apply more standards to their roleplay and escalation. But i'll make a different policy suggestion thread for that if this one is dismissed.
  11. ERP should be disallowed, I say this seriously. Community manager i'm okay with, Vox i'm okay with but they need to have high whitelist standards and maybe even be limited in number and also heavily discriminated against (Akin to Vaurca) Community manager would be very helpful in bridging the gap between Staff and players. I've felt this gap myself as Wiki manager, catching people talking about problems with the wiki but not posting on the wiki thread is frustrating, and I can't always be there to catch it. I doubt a community manager could either, but it would be nice to have someone who would relay concerns of the community to the appropriate people, still. But seriously ERP needs to be disallowed, for one, it makes the entire Staff have to read through literal porn each time they go into logs when it comes to a complaint, in the other they have to literally post said porn on said complaint to highlight the evidence. You don't see how much of an issue that'll be? Let's look at the original reason it was disallowed. Underaged players. Without a means of age restricting them, the server could get into legal trouble due to exposing them to that kind of content. However, with age restriction, this could be fine. This reason (Underage players) could feasibly be circumvented through a mechanic suggested on another server, Lewdsay. That would also fix the issue of Staff being forced to read it. So that brings me to my closing statement. The only realistic way to enable ERP is to port Extended Roleplay. Is that really something we want to do??...

  16. This application has a great deal of promise, especially looking at your previous projects. I'll be processing it soon. The one thing that worries me is your lack of presence in the Community as a whole. You've been here afew times but from what Abo has said you haven't played here a whole lot yet. This doesn't disqualify you, but it means i'll have to ask you some questions. Can I trust you to test out mechanics and get decent gameplay experience in the guides that you write? - This one is very important mostly noting your short time in the community, however the other Maintainers can look over your work and help you flesh it out if needed. Can I expect you to resign as opposed to disappearing in the event that you chose to leave? - This is just as important for the above reasons.
  17. Okay, let's assume you're right, you can get out of EMT training within 2 years, and it's not put into tiers like IRL. (EMT Levels 1-3, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P) Where would your character have learned proper EVA procedure? Where would they have learned how to pilot the Odysseus mech? Did all of this come out of nowhere? I would assume there are a lot more courses than IRL, especially since you're working on a Space station with its own set of problems vs a modern city or town. So, you can count EVA training in general, Hardsuit use training, Mech piloting training, Basic Station safety courses, alongside potentially EMT-B, EMT-I, and EMT-P training depending on your characters job title (EMT or Paramedic) IDK about you but this sounds at least around the 23 area.
  18. PAIs do not need damage. Spiderbots already fill this niche and it's the only one they have. PAIs already have plenty of utility and giving them damage will completely annihilate the only real niche Spiderbots have, and make them too overly useful. I'll have to say i'm against but it's such a minor idea that I don't know if i'd care that much if it got added, however it just doesn't make sense to me to add.
  19. On further thought, I came to realise this could also give some jobs a lot more substance. For instance, it would give Xenoarcheology an actual culture to study and Xenobiologists could be given a means of studying their tribal habits as well, something akin to tracking implant or tag with a camera on it that keeps an eye on ones that were marked. This ontop of Mining having to be a bit more careful while out adds a whole lot of extra flesh to the Asteroid setting beyond just the conflict that could be stirred.

    Off-Duty ERT

    You could potentially board as off-duty ERT but you would likely get bwoinked if you tried to fight Antags. As for jobs I don't think you're allowed to be off-duty ERT/Ex-ERT except in specific circumstances like HoS, and only for the latter case.
  21. Well there went all of my concerns, still fully onboard. Thanks for the explanation Jackboot. The conflict and RP fuel this could bring to the round setting and is pretty high, on the level of Merchant except more indirect. I think if handled right and the spirit of the concept is preserved it could be great, so yeah i'm onboard, it also fills the gap that the Asteroid monsters never filled.

Actually a good way to do that could be to make the Talpi grow violent or something the longer they're near a non-Talpi, but enabling the Crew to outright exterminate their settlements non-stop probably isn't the way to go about it. (Edit: Infact, just making something valid has traditionally not worked for ensuring that sorta thing didn't happen. Mice and others as an example. Might be time to try something new, and since the Talpi are actually expected to roleplay from what i'm gathering from the blurb and junk, and not just be annoying obnoxious pests, related to objectives (The only other option is gank) it seems counterproductive to an HRP setting to enable Crew to wanton slaughter them unless it'll be made an administrative issue which i'm not so sure administration will be onboard with.. All i'm saying is something may need to be done to ensure they keep their gimmick and yet still foster an HRP atmosphere. Pest mole people who are expected to roleplay and yet exterminated enmasse without roleplay every round isn't gonna do it, sorry.) NOTE THIS IS DEFUNCT SINCE JACKBOOTS REPLY
  23. I'm onboard for sure, I love the idea of a consistent non-Station based faction, even if it's just on the Asteroid. My only peeve is I think it'll just become a Moleslaughter 8/10 rounds where Security/Science/Mining seek them out and exterminate them enmasse, so not much room for RP there. It'd probably just encourage ganking and murderboning on both sides if something isn't put in place to prevent wanton slaughter which could be said to be a good thing but i'm gonna say doesn't encourage an HRP atmosphere and would be a bad thing.

  25. This feels like a no brainer to me. Fowl is worth accepting if a slot is open, in my honest opinion. But I second that he can be a bit brash at times.
