Wesmas
The idea for this was mentioned in OOC. Put simply, we would have a clean water loop heading to every sink, shower and whatever else uses water on the station, where its then put into a dirty water loop to be taken to a purification system in engineering. This could be coupled with a thirst mechanic, but that is beyond the scope of this suggestion. This could lead to interesting RP such as pipes breaking, causing slippery patches on the floor, clean water and dirty water mixing causing illness, the purifier breaking, new sinks and showers could be installed and it would give greater depth to the engineering jobs. If further clarification is wanted, please let me know. Link to comment
Zundy
Sounds rad, anyone have any idea on how difficult something like this would be to implement? Maybe something for the new map? Link to comment
Skull132
My main question is. Without introducing amazingly severe failures, are the rounds long enough for such subtle things to have an effect? Link to comment
TrickingTrapster
I think it may have... Half as much impact as atmos? I mean, water is a very required thing in many areas of the station(Botany/xenobotany, kitchen, xenobiology, showers, custodial.) but how will you implement the amount of water left? I guess it adds something for traitors to mess with, but like atmos, if it becomes that important it will be round-breaking. This could lead to interesting situations, I see potential, but it needs tons and tons of polish. Link to comment
Chaznoodles
God no. Why do we need this? What could it actually be used for? Link to comment
Serveris
Interesting concept. But then we're going to end up like Europa station. Keep in mind the station is packed to the brim with airtight airlocks, so of there was any kind of flooding in one of these sealed rooms, it could get pretty messy if the issue wasn't checked. Might be interesting to see traitors turn the bridge into a fish tank, though. Might actually give the Skrell having the ability to breathe underwater a mechanical boon as well. Like Skull said though, not sure if it would justify all the work it'd end up taking. (Not to mention mapping in two whole new pipe circuits into the station.) Link to comment
Bedshaped
God no. Why do we need this? What could it actually be used for? Don't tell me you've never imagined drinking your repurified urine. Link to comment
sonicgotnuked
Yes, I want to see a pipe break and turning said room into a tank. We need two versions of this, a shit water one and a clean water one. Link to comment
LordRaven001
Yes, This idea is glorious if we add on the ability to break pipes to turn a room into a fish tank. The Skrells no longer would take shit from the other races. Turning the station into a water filled deathtrap seems fun. Link to comment
Conservatron
i like this idea on principle of being able to hook up a fire hose and spray down unruly assistants as security Link to comment
Nanako
fwiw, this would be very hard and a lot of work to implement. It'd require a whole new pipe network laid in every part of the station. I don't know whether its worth it, but it won't be easy to accomplish Link to comment
Vanagandr
It would also do horrifying things when combined with electrics. Exactly what goes into a water-purification plant I don't know, but I'm sure antags would enjoy putting people into the loop. Link to comment
Wesmas
From what people have said, this is what I thought it would be. An interesting idea, but probably more work than anyone would bother with. Link to comment

Nikov
It is almost certain that a space station wouldn't have enough liquid water aboard to flood a room. I don't see this adding any new usefulness since water piping would only exist to break, make the floor wet, and generate a bit of makework for engineering. We already have water supplied across the station in the sinks. Water purification in space will likely be a high-pressure water reactor, which takes advantage of water's extremely corrosive properties at high temperatures and pressures to dissolve everything passing through it. But that's hydraulic pressure. Link to comment
