This seems like a cute and proper outfit, well worth questioning if you should bump into Mira! Plus one!

There's a bit of an issue differentiating between sign language and Nal'rasan (Taj sign language) for people that dont speak either. The text you get up is identical to one another, and it would be nice to be able to tell the difference between them. Perhaps make the the language include the usage of their ears, as I imagine Nal'rasan would. Alternately or additively make Nal'rasan a different color when used.

Not that I play all that much command anymore, but whenever shit's absolutely hit the fan, and Im in medical, trying to mop up a slew of internal bleeding and legless screaming people, do I have an issue that someone steps up and takes charge with or without consulting me? Not in the slightest. This here. We're just skipping the extra step of having to break into the cap's office/bitch at the AI. Frankly Im happy when someone takes charge and deals with shit, as all of non-security is either barricading, hiding or working some form of disaster management. The few times Ive experienced this crew militia, Faysal and his ragtag band of misfits has come by medical and posted there until things were a little safer before moving onto the next department, leaving a posted guard behind or some of the sort. As it was stated somewhere else in the thread, diplomacy is always tried first, if that fails it escalates. I really dont see the issue with someone taking charge and guiding the crew when all else fails. Whats the alternative? Roll over and get slaughtered? I mean, I can see why the whole crew militia might feel unfair as the tables suddenly turn on antags, but I honestly believe it generates more roleplay than its counterpart, and thats what we're here for, right? Roleplay?

Heavy Mounting Frame: Mech Guns for Infantry
Pratepresidenten replied to DronzTheWolf's topic in Archive
Broooo, yes. This is a great suggestion! Having a form of back(pack) mounted rigchassis you can put exosuit drills and weapons on? All my yes. I see both upsides and downsides to this. Upside is you dont need AN ENTIRE FUCKING MECH built, everyone knows thats a massive resource hog and everyone and their mothers will come shitting down your chimney if they see some warmech getting built. There's also (Slight) mobility and more free-fire to it. Downsides can be plentiful though. Its rigmounted, meaning its modules can break on damage. You would probably move slower than the usual movespeed, and you'd be unable to sprint. You're stil highly susceptible to ions still, and you know, you're not protected for shit. So bullets away! Restrictions would be pretty harsh to balance it. One mount per rig, 2 for emagged rigs? Again, great potential! -
I learned today that the only way to properly use a molotov is with welderfuel. Although I did not know that petrol/kerosene was a big part of it. So Im proposing that the molotov becomes a little more versatile I guess? Allow the rag attached to it to be ignited when doused with alcohol or phoron, as those two are plenty flammable on their own.

Remove changelings experiencing pain/paralysis/stuns in general
Pratepresidenten replied to kyres1's topic in Archive
Well, this was a refreshing post about a "rework" if any. I can see great potential in this, either in combat or laughing at someone for trying to inflict pain on you. To me, lings are a very hit or miss. Either you stalk around maint and pick people off one by one, or you try to take on the entirely of everyone in one big swoop. Either way, kinda sucks. Big supportive numbero uno for this one. -
Ive seen this around somewhere else, and honestly, It'd be a big QoL improvement. If you do not know what Im talking about, its essentially grabbing something (Like internals, a mask etc) from a container (Box) while said box is inside your bag, eliminating the need to take the box out of your bag, opening it and retrieving the item inside then putting the box back. It doesnt seem to be unreasonable to be able to shove your hand into your pack and get something from a container inside. An extremely notable example here would be the circuitry kit. Its hell to tinker with if you dont toss all the packs around for access. Or medkits inside your bag if you have your hands full with a patient.

Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: Pratepresidenten Character Name(s): Anabelle Sovno, SecMate 462, Arrashi M'rta, Zohra Mrakiizar, Fa'iq Al-Mansur AI Name(s): Apex (AI), Bit (Borg) Discord username + tag: Pratepresidenten#5812 Age: 29 Timezone: GMT+1 When are you on Aurora?: Usually around deadhour, or when Im able to. Experience How long have you played SS13?: I think.. Two years now? Three maybe? How long have you played on Aurora: Same as above. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Pretty knowledgeable about most things. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Yes. Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: Pretty sure I do. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No bans. Personality Why do you play SS13?: Because the game itself is unique and has great replay value. Why do you play on Aurora?: Honestly, because the playerbase keeps a smile on my face. What do moderators do?: They enforce the rules and resolves issues between players. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Well, to keep the peace I suppose. Peoples definition of HRP varies, someone enjoys conflict and combat, others doesnt. I believe moderating for Aurora is a little more complex than say your average low/medRP servers due to the nature of issues that might arise. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to once more give back some to the community that I enjoy spending time with. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I got lots of patience and Im pretty chill, and I like to believe I have good judgement and a gentle touch when it comes to resolving issues. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I generally dont care about insults and hostility over ahelps. As for stress, my thought process tends to derail at times if theres too much going on. Anything Else You Want to Add: As stated above, I am waddling through some health issues, and Im coming to terms with that I might not get better, at all. But Aurora, to me, is a wonderful place and its filled with such a diverse, fantastic bunch. You've given me so many feels, both happy and sad, and sometimes rage over how much you guys can meme. Jokes aside, I just want to give back and be a part of the moderation team once more, even if its at a reduced capacity on my end.

Player Complaint - TheOrleans
Pratepresidenten replied to IAmCrystalClear's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
This sounds a lot like a cult round I was in recently. Holed up in engineering, he comes dumping about after the captain had called all security hostile (He was security himself). I tell him to fuck off repeatedly, and axed him in the arm as a warning. Then he ahelps about improper escalation, over a lovetap to a prosthetic after being warned repeatedly to get lost. Despite my objections, he's allowed to stay. But at some point shortly after, he slinks off screen, summons his cult gear, and he literally comes sprinting back with his sword+flash drawn before decapitating/maiming all of engineering without a damn word. He cried about improper escalation, yet he's able to rationalize that dead silent murderbone rush was fine when he was swinging the sword. That there is some hypocritical bullshit, and I think this complaint should be a big push for some self-reflection into how one plays antag. Its about making the round fun for everyone, not just oneself. -
How many additional spawnpoints are getting put down? Also, honestly, I think placing it smack dead in the middle of a department or nearby one would be decent. Give it a chance to eat up all the equipment, leaving actual repairs to equipment and station interior instead of just.. Building hundreds of feet of steel wall. Noone likes that shit. Also in the spirit of not dicking the station and crew completely when there's noone to combat it, maybe have it restricted to a certain crew number or department number on Engineering/security?
-
Just a quality of life addition, really. Should make drone repairs a little more manageable when you can actually see where you're going, as drones are super fragile and explode if they take one wrong step.

So a thought has occured to me that special RIGs are basically untouchable unless you manage to get your hands on an EMAG, captain's spare or an appliccable head of staff ID. So the suggestion is to allow for other unconventional means of getting your hands on a rig without having to jack a high-security ID or illegal tools. Could either have a timed period using either a crowbar, welding tool or screwdriver to jimmy open the electronics compartment, destroying the lock in the process. Maybe damaging the internal components to some lesser degree? Ooor a more.. Loud option using something heavy to bash the panel until it breaks before accessing it. Definately destroying something inside in the process. I feel this would make stealing departmental rigs a more viable option.

Although I dont agree with most of what you did this round, Im curious what you were going to do down at the AI core. There was a clear and present warning that if you started to fuck around, break cameras or try to assault the core, you would all die, and not even a minute later you break the camera in your own office. I dont see how them taking you out was unreasonable at all, as you were endangering literally everyone with your actions.

More like TAU, amirite? Looks good tho, we need more diverse AI stuff.

The ion is for easy-cheese destruction of borgs. There is literally no unfair advantage at play here. Borgs are really easy to trap and destroy, either with wit or firepower alone.

As someone who spends a lot of time in EVA, I would love this. -
From what I know, the loyalty implant blacklists any roundstart antag that isnt loyalist. I dont know about wizard contracts if they only obliterate you or whatever, but as for all the others, you cannot become an autotraitor, revolutionary, cultist or be dominated normally. The only exception here is if the vampire is at full power, then it bypasses the implant lock. If you want your resident HoS/Captain to be any of the antags, you need to rip their implant out and convert them.
-
Thing is though, you wont be a better borg if there's a lockout period involved, not to mention, robotics has to make a conscious choice about installing an interface chip in a borg shell, so you cant just hijack any shell to do whatever you want. As for the shell itself, it probably only comes with a limited selection of tools, like a wrench, screwdriver, multitool or something. The healthpool of the shell would be laughable, like a critter for example. Good for two hits or maybe one if you're feeling extra cruel! Your primary function is to be the all-seeing AI. This is more of an auxiliary function that you use sparingly.
