1. Lets see here.. As I had it invisoned, you would need two players aquainted with whoever person wanted family onboard. So you would need X player (Stationworker), Y player (Kiddo), and Z player (Other parent, family, relative, guardian). If you have two parents working on station, I suppose the kid could be met at the arrivals shuttle dock and looked after by either parent at all times (Unless they run off, the darn kids). This is something people would have to discuss between themselves, who wanted to play what, really. Regulations are the same as any other visitor, but I suspect leniency will be shown by security if they broke a window or stole something (Unless you're a heartless secmain), and the parent(s)/guardians would get a talking to I guess? The AI laws will be the same as always. The kids are visitors, just like any other adult visitor, protected by its default laws. Visitors arent necessarily NT personnel, but they're protected as if they were for liabilty reasons. Imagine the outrage if non-corporate visitors got wasted by a station AI, amirite? I hope this answers your questions my dude ben10083
2. So I had this idea over a wizard round that happened many many months ago, and wanted something of it implemented because it would add to the immershn you lot seems to love! The suggestion is basically to implement a somewhat smaller, child-like sprite and lock it behind the visitor role (Not assistant), and a few off-station antags. The point of this would be that you could have your family visit if you had two dedicated people to play said family. A visitor kid would always be accompanied by an adult, because you cant just let these little shits roam around on their own in space. As for off-station antags, I feel it'd give a form of variety to how to react when you bump into some little dork that claims to have the power of gods, where you just pet them on the head and ask if they're lost, and where their parents are at, for example. People go off of what they see, and people dont bother checking FTs/poses almost ever, so this would aid in the instant realization that this individual is not a fully grown man/woman ranging between the age of 25-100 years old. Bit of an ORIGINAL IDEA, toss in your thoughts n' shit here.
3. Leg actuators are kinda iffy tbf. Doesnt ninjarigs come with jetpacks? It would cover a whole lot more mobility for that type of antag where you can quickly swoosh around on open spaces. Alternately bundle it with the original suggestion, for very cheap in the uplink
4. Pretty sure drone kill-swiping only applies to engineering+Captain (Since engineering access) But all in all, if this truly is an issue, drones overstepping their bounds en masse, perhaps drone laws should be looked into and tweaked.
5. They contribute through automated repairs, but zero RP, sure. But having hallways un-vented or doors unbroken can tilt either way, depending on who has what. Picking up, hitting or outright killing the drone on sight will make it stop what its doing before it can finish any repairs. If they persist, well.. Thats an ooc issue, right?
6. Drones arent meant to contribute to the round. Its a ghost role with some tools. You can either skitter around and do little, or put in some work and repair shit. You're just an autonomous repair system that does all the work, gets none of the credit and most likely gets destroyed in the process =)
7. Cant say Im too big of a fan of this. The G2s are made the way they are. You sacrifice speed for tankyness, thats the essence of the model. If you want speed, play the G1, if you want nyoom, play the.. Whatever that lightweight EMT frame is called.
8. Ah, I thought you were going about overhauling all of disposals. The drones are severely lacking in mail tags, and sending yourself to the HoP's office causes an infinite loop that requires admin intervention to get out of. If you are going about reworking it all, could you toss in a few more points for them to swoop to?
9. What about maintenance drone mail tags?
10. It is not for surgery, it's a paralytic, not a sedative - you will feel all the pain of the operation still. If you're using it for surgery you're basically committing torture. Its literally listed under sedatives. And it also causes sleep after a brief few ticks. It is not to be used on its own, but with mixed up with twice the units of soporific to keep the patient out. Where on earth is this claim based? Is this from personal experience or from what someone has told you? I also think you might be confusing chloral with chlorophoride.
11. Its always irked me why hyposprays can be used against armored targets, as it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The hypospray utilizes compressed air to inject its contents into the patient, needle and blood free. It mostly works through clothing aswell, but it working through a 2+ inch layer of armor, plating and whatnots is just ridiculous. So I propose the following changes: The syringe: Stays the same as it always has. Autoinjector: Will act as a syringe against EVA gear (Voidsuits, rigsuits) and cannot be used against armor. Hypospray: Cannot be used vs armor at all, not even void/rigsuits. I feel this will contribute to a more realistic system when it comes to injections.
12. ...its not meant to be an offensive chem, what the shit. Its primary use is to quickly put someone under when they need emergency surgery. The drug isnt designed to be pretty, it gives you a quick sedation at a cost, namely toxins. If you want to antag with chems, go ahead, but keep in mind there are a LOT of other more deadly and under-utilized poisons, dont put a useful one down in the shitter because its not perfect for one's valids/antaggy needs.
13. Anyone can detonate a non-hacked borg. Being able to self-destruct really shouldnt be a thing as you're lawed to preserve yourself.
14. As it is now, it costs 800 points, and it summons TEN whole ores to your location, and only that. Using it again just repeat-summons the same 10 ores at your feet, making it not worth the price at all, and makes it completely garbage to use. It used to be able to summon a screens worth of ores to your location without issue. Im pretty sure this particular thing was stresstested by Lohikar with thousands of ores/sparks with no issue. Would be nice to have this back to the way it was!
15. Ive seen your borg around some, and to me, you're basically a secborg main. I cant say Ive got too much positive to chuck your way, as the one time I had you as my underling as malf, you were so extremely aggressive, all time time. You wanted to kill, maim and shoot up anyone you came in contact with when I was trying to cause non-violent conflict. And seeing you're applying for a security IPC, what makes this any different? You'll have more tools at your disposal with less risk of someone yelling "ROGUE". I guess what Im trying to convey is, you need to chill with your aggressive synthplay. Synthetics does not feel displeasure, anger or hate, and would not act on any annoyance that you might feel OOCly. A bloodthirsty machine would be a war machine, and there would be none of them on Aurora. Im not gonna add my support for this application, but I wont add anything against it either. Just fix your synth playstyle to reflect this better, please.
16. Lets not have food and drinks hog all the aesthetics, make this a thing!
17. So we know IPCs are fragile little babbus that needs air around them to not melt, and clothing for most synthetics seems a bit odd. Security/Engineering IPCs would be manufactured with extra a tough chassis, and medical IPCs should come with a very unarmored chassis for mobility. This should be a default setting in our universe. But for balance reasons, this cant really be the case, so my suggestion is to introduce a loadout slot for IPCs, basically, their default gear, but invisible (Or sprited department colored stripes if anyone wants to touch that), maybe a pair of pants only while the rest is hidden. It would occupy most gearslots and would probably need its own loadout slot tab. It would cover all default jumpsuits, armor and gear for various departments like the warden's armored gear, officer's stab vests, med/sci labcoats, sterile gloves and so fourth. Maybe even throw in the option for your boots? Alternately.. IPCs could be given a verb to hide the sprite of the clothes they were wearing, jumpsuit, overcoat, hat etc, but it would still show up on inspection. (This wouldnt apply to void/rigsuits). I feel it would make more sense for synthetics not to wear all kinds of obstructing gear that would undoubtedly fuck with their cooling systems. And perhaps it'll give them a more creepy and alien feel to those around them. So they're viewed as more of a machine instead of a person. Separate us from them.
18. Seeing the new amazing suggestion of Siik'Tau being implemented, its kind of a downer that Zhan has to pick either Siik'Maas or Siik'Tau, as having Tau for them would be pretty sensical, as most of them are dumb little shits and ceti not being the easiest language around, they would sub unknown words for words of their own tongue. So the suggestion is to give Siik'Tau to all Taj as an optional language, giving it a zero point cost. Orr... Just give Zhan this by default as a language?
19. So I had this awesome idea regarding an addition to cloning, namely a backup disk, or a MID (Memory Indentification Disk) As you all may well know, cloning is a two step process. You scan the dead, then you pick their scan from a list (If there are others saved aswell) and you clone said scan, resulting in a fresh clone getting spat out of the nearby cloning pod. Now, seeing the not-so-recent mental baggage to cloning, you have a good 95% chance of NOT getting cloned unless there's a psych or a competent borg/AI present. Which makes death more severe. That being said. The suggestion is that an addition is made to the cloning computer, allowing you to delete a saved backup, or print a MID. Once its been printed, its gone from the computer unless reinserted, and you're able to use a pen on the disk to easier identify who's on there. The MID itself can be destroyed either my scrambling it (Emag), crushing, shredding or re-inserting it into a cloning computer and wiping it. Why would we want this?? Well, three reasons: 1) You're able to grab the disks in the event of an evacuation and have them shipped to an appropriate cloning facility, saving the Corporation paperwork and recruitment of another employee. 2) Antags can scan a victim of their choosing (Either dead or assasinated) and hold their mind hostage after they dispose of the body either through crushing, headgibbing or stuffing them in the incinerator. 3) The MID's could be used for other nefarious means, such as selling them to a third party (Contracts). Im sure someone would pay good money for the MID of a Captain or other valuable, high-ranking employees. Clone them and torture the clone for invaluable information. You could get the scan covertly or by force. I feel this'd give an alternate function to cloning, and not render it almost completely useless in the event of no psych (Which is pretty frequent). It would also give more incentive for people to play antag medical that isnt just.. Kill your patients, take their organs or w/e
20. Gurrrrl! You've been doing great! You go the extra mile to help new players and you're friendly and courteous about i from what Ive seen. One minor thing I'd like to note is that you drag things on sometimes during ahelps, but its just something that'll buff out over time! All in all, solid effort, keep it up!
21. No, lame. 100% -1. If something is going to be done about the AI, this shouldnt be it. This effectively kills a slot which can infact facilitate RP to a good extent. There are plenty of countermeasures against AIs. Remove your ID, put on a mask, use abilities or tech to obscure yourself from its mostly all-seeing eye. Or simply just.. Subvert the AI to cater to your needs. While its true the AI holds great power, even greater power than the entirety of Command in some instances, doesnt mean we should push them all into the same category. Regular AI players that arent shitler valid hunters shouldnt be punished for the bad seeds that are. In my opinion, if anything should be done to impede the AI slot, it should be a whitelist.
22. Sounds good, really! Another one to our ranks of the synthetic overlords. So I present you with this useful token: +1 Good luck on your application my dude!
23. Yeye! Another one for the synthetic master race. I do have a few questions though. 1) You're gonna play this as an officer/barkeep, will you have the same mindset for both, or is there a personality swap between the two? 2) As an officer, will you be playing it like a rigid, regulations-upholding bot that sees things in a black and white fashion due to its synthetic nature, or will there be room for leniency? 3) Last question kinda ties a little into the second, but uh.. How are they personality-wise? Im guessing seeing they were made for a very basic task that is essentially crowd control at a club, I dont think there was a whole lot of effort put into their programming for anything other than this task. As positronics has the capability to learn, Im sure there will be development along the way, but where is Talon at now?
