"Men of NanoTrasen" 2461 Promotional Calendar!
Pratepresidenten replied to Synnono's topic in NanoTrasen Public Network

If we're gonna shove everything mining into science, atleast give us a roundstart ripley in mining that we can fight over. The suggestion has good intentions, but I feel that science wont bother with miners and their upgrades as they're more busy with R&D with the new system launching, and building guns n' shit. And y'know, not bother with 4 whining miners wanting X and Y on a constant basis.

[Denied] Banned for... leaving?
Pratepresidenten replied to listendudeiwannadie's topic in Unban Requests Archive
Thing is, the issue here isnt going to cryo at roundstart once in a while, because sometimes we misjudge what time it was, or how tired we were, despite having some time to feel it over during setup. The issue here is that you've done so frequently that its been noticed by multiple people. We really dont have a lot of cases regarding frequent roundstart cryos, so the few cases we do notice stick out. And you seem to have racked up a lot of talks and warnings over the two matters. You've probably shaped up on your impromptu SSDing and such, but the running to cryo on roundstart remained. Its kinda shitty towards your fellow players. Say you ready up for a limited job, like borg, security or robotics. You win the slot, and someone else gets left out. They get forced to play something else, and when they join, your cryo message pops off, and they get frustrated, sad, angry or whatever. Do you see my point here? -
[Denied] Banned for... leaving?

Please use cryogenic sleep whenever possible: It'll free up the job slot for others. And please remember to store your gear in your office/work area before going to cryogenic sleep. Quoted from the rules. I really dont see how it is difficult to link these two together. You join with no intent to play and cryo/SSD immediately on roundstart, effectvely hogging the slot for someone that wanted to play the role at the start of the round. Why do you even do it? Is it because you dont get antag? Because you found out immediately after the game started (Repeatedly) that you didnt want to play, despite having a good few minutes to decide during setup? If you're unsure if you can stay the round due to tiredness, real life shit or w/e, dont ready up. Its kind of a dick move towards others. If the notes, warnings and bans below arent an eyeopener, hopefully this ban will be. -
Hello! A few things to clear up some issues in the thread here. The borg that took you down was within its right to act, as you could not be taken down by the only counter it had (Flash) due to your welding helmet. It stopped as soon as you were downed, as the the AI told it to. You died due to medical not providing immediate treatment on scene, the borg didnt finish you off. There is also the issue with you using your status as RD to valid the borgs which had caused you no issues. This was a pretty clear cut metagrudging case for being indirectly killed by a borg. The AI chose to give you acting Captaincy to handle the situation as you so told it. It had no reason to suspect you of anything, neither did the other borgs. It did not have any reason to rule lawyer and be difficult despite knowing you were a traitor coming into its core. Because as RD, it is literally your job to deal with AI systems. Lawing it to serve you would have been a better move, both for you and it, instead of just removing it from the round. But mistakes are made when you're in an adrenaline fueled rage. In any case! Saved the good news for last. The ban is not permanent, it was only a week long. And it will expire in 2 days.

[Accepted] Sleepy's Unban Request
Pratepresidenten replied to SleepyWolf's topic in Unban Requests Archive
Alright Sleepy, this has not exactly been a easy thing to deal with, as you are loved by both the community and staff, but I cannot in good faith just unban you with what you just answered. But I cannot just outright deny you either, as you CAN be good if you try. So Im going to let you decide, Sleepy. You can pick either: Option A: I deny your unban application, and you are prohibited from re-applying until June. or Option B: I accept your unban application, and you are put on a 6 month probation, where even the slightest infraction nets you a new permaban that is not appealable for 12 months. I realize these two choices might seem harsh, but they are based on your notes, warnings and bans throughout your recent time here, aswell as rules being broken as a staff member. That being said, I have nothing against you, and I do want you back, but I also want you to shape the fuck up and for you to keep your nose clean. Choice is yours. -
Time to delete your account and start anew! HUZZAH!

Hello! Glad to see that you're wanting to take a stepup and take your character to the next level. However, I do have some concerns. Now, seeing you've had RIP on a hiatus, I havent played consistent medical with you since back on the Exodus. But..! From what I can recall, RIP was somewhat prone to.. Shutting down if shit hits the fan or there is loss of patient life, making them become unresponsive and partially unreliable. Is this still the case, or has there been made tweaks or changes to your character since back then? Because apart of our frequent medpop, patients still die from inept doctors more interested in swinging the saw around, going "Unga bunga" while their patient bleeds out internally in the ICU even after they've gotten a scan. So not much has changed in that regard

[Accepted] kyres1's IPC application
Pratepresidenten replied to kyres1's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Kyres, my boy! Another one for the synthetic master race. I got nothing bad to say about you tbh, I like you oocly, and I like the way you RP. Seeing how you would flourish as an automaton or other odd synthetics will be fun. Best of luck my dude, it is dangerous to go alone, take this, +1 -
Seeing my post was not acknowledged for almost two weeks, and your ban has expired, the application is being archived. Locking and archiving.
-
I didnt realize you had to be intellectually superior to look at your screen for more than 1 second and calculate that if you press one of your move keys, you wont step into a hole, fall and die to internal bleeding. Same principle kinda applies driving. If you're not gonna keep your eyes on the road, then you'll most likely end up dead. Honestly, I invite you to come play mining, see for yourself. Mining isnt some exhausting, super complicated task where every single step could prove fatal based on RNG.
-
Ill take it by this post that you have literally never stepped foot outside the station. Your average miner is clueless. They rupture their lungs in the airlock cycler and they fall down the most obvious of holes. There are no unpredictable danger as a miner. Rock shields you from radiation storms and carp doesnt go to the 4th level. I would be highly supportive of adding some unpredictable danger that isnt space bears. If we're gonna put in space bears, we might aswell remove the voidsuits and send our miners out into space with internals only :^)

You can also put your sword arms onto a table, or be disarmed of them. And y'know, they'll drop if you're put in a reinforced grab.
-
This is an interesting concept, seeing quite a few things can be made from chemisty. like industrial strength coolant (That has zero use afaik), and giving space lube a function that isnt slip memes. Perhaps this additon could provide temporary buffs that allows for longer operational times without needing to recharge? Or make you able to run longer? Plenty of opportunity here in my opinion. Definately worth digging into.

Make xeno-blood drenched clothes slowly melt away. First take their clothing, then their lives.
-
But at what pressure does it become dangerous as opposed to an inconvenience/minor hazard?
-
Right then. I have no issues with unbanning you, if you're clear on how to properly handle needing to leave. And for your question: Going SSD=Logging off, quitting the game or w/e. It is preferable that you use cryo however. Ghosting=Leaving your body behind, and entering the realm of the dead. You do not do this unless your character is inside a cryotube, or you're slowly dying somewhere with no hope of rescue. If you understand the difference and such, we can make something work.
-
So, here's the thing. You've gotten yourself into some trouble regarding SSDing and ghosting in messed up places. Not to mention a warning regarding this spesific thing. You've failed to adhere to your warning and you just left your computer not even a minute after asking around on general comms for an assistant. Do you understand the issue here?
