I have discussed this with you in discord and at the time we agreed on this. The gamemode itself could perhaps use a bit more fleshing out, perhaps a bit more regarding powers, perhaps a bit more variety or ways to resist for the host. But as a replacement for ling it's great, Ling has been already made obsolete with the addition of vampire who is basically Ling 2.0 and yet this keeps the "Xenological Body Horror" vibe going.

Ok let's go The Merc Problem The Malf Problem The Ninja/Wizard Problem The Rev/Loyalist Issue Traitor The Cult Issue The Changeling Issue The Vampire Issue 1) Garn adressed this, we DO talk to people. Usually or atleast in majority of cases it's fine for us to say "Hey guys remember you're antagonists" in AOOC for them to get the hint and I have yet to see a "paceantag", the worst I see is antags that are either way too good and never get discovered or antags who are afraid of going active. Perhaps we should consider talking to people about that. 2) You're asking a bunch of biased and emotionally involved people to evaluate someone who has actively been sabotaging their jobs/lives, this would curb experimentation even more or just result in everyone being downdooted to oblivion. 3) Skull is very much against just removing things and wizards usually ends up being the favorite of quite a few people. 4) This I agree on fully, changeling had no business being around as long as it has.

You guys are alright and I appreciate you, sure we don't love each other all the time but hey, conflict is the spice of life. Thanks Players, even if nobody appreciates you as much as they appreciate staff, know that you're more important since without you this server wouldn't exist. Thank you. EDIT: I used too many words, so I condensed it.

Okay, we'll wait for Firstact however as this ban was given out in his name and perhaps he'll have a different opinion or idea.
-
This is absolutely false. I have review the logs now and yes I have made several announcements. Several IN-GAME announcements about the local biesel thunderdome event being cancelled and the NSS Aurora offering up to hosting it, nothing about this is "meme", this is quite feasible. Furthermore I can point tell you that at the time EVERYONE treated it as a normal Extended round with a little spice. And while yes I did get into an argument with Munks, I have never called it a "Meme-round", I said it might be a "Half-assed event" as it was done with little preparations, however it turned out great thanks to the players basically taking the wheel and having a fun spin with it. To clarify on the permaban, we permaban EVERYONE who suicides during a round and logs out before we can contact them, this GUARANTEES that they have READ why they were banned and not doing it again. I can simply see that you were confused and that there was no malicious intent in what happened, it was simply me perhaps not being clear enough to players. I apologize for that and I am willing to appeal your ban fully and in turn I promise I shall specify the nature of these rounds further.
-
To quote And while you appear to be very fond of the phrase, "Meme-round", nowhere was it stated that it was a "meme-round" as you managed to blow your head off before I even made a single announcement. Furthermore the ban itself was given by the Trial Moderator [mention]firstact[/mention] , however due to how server permissions function Trial Moderators are unable to give permabans and thus it was given out in his name by me.

[Accepted]DeadLantern's Tajara application
Coalf replied to DeadLantern's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Backstory is a bit hard to read, not due to any innacurasies but simply from the wordflow of it itself. I was actually pleasantly suprised at what turn the backstory took as I was just about ready to smash that -1 button because I thought I was about to see another fucking simple Zhan goodboi who dindu nuffin and doesn't care about world politics. We have someone who isn't a simple goodboi, someone who actually thought of taking the long-term round, someone who was actually DIRECTLY involved in the first public outcry against the Zhan minority instead of living in the asscrack of messa and hearing about it through postage letters and vague "Racism". I like that. Are you sure about that? Not to insult your abillity or anything but character like this are VERY hard to pull off and due to the "theatrical" display of the game characters like these usually end up overlooked as a simple "valids secure tool" instead of a genuine character that just doesn't carry his heart on his sleeve. Might be worth a reconsider. Otherwise I had a well, less than ideal Crossfire round yesterday but you were EXTREMELY impressive with your vaurca managing to keep roleplaying Pain during Mercenary tortureboners for almost half a fucking hour which to me was EXTREMLY impressive as I myself would have given up long LOOOOOONG ago. So I don't have an issue with a +1, you're here for the lore as I know from my discord adventures that until recently you didn't seem to be a fan of the species. I know you're a capable roleplayer from what I've seen and I also know you aren't the type of person to shortcut his way into satisfaction but actually take and give the full RP experience. So yes, I am in full support. -

I completely disagree with the Beaker, being able to carry a (relatively large) amount of pocket chemicals that cannot be seen or stolen/disarmed from me is madman level. I'm okay with everything else if it has an increased point pool to about 3-5 depending on the module, maybe the flashlight should drain your battery faster? +1 if beaker is removed

[Denied] Voltage's New Moderator App
Coalf replied to VoltageHero's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Now let me start off with saying that "m-muh professional b-behaviour!" on discord can frankly go suck a dick, the only thing is accomplishes is creating a stigma between the players and staff, if I acted like this is my job half the people I now consider friends would have never approached me in discord simply from being intimidated by my position. Voltage has kept his shitposting completely reserved in trashcan unlike most of the other people that just shitpost freely and while I did block him eventually as his behaviour was repetetive and predictable I have once again unblocked him as he actually seriously started posting in general. I've gotten voltage enraged once or twice in political thunderdome and I can say with guarantee that he's a very factual and laid back person when he gets that noggin' joggin'. Now there are actual issues I have, one of those is server mentality. The is one thing I've seen "oldguard" struggle with the most, returning to the server and discovering it is nothing like they left it, our restrictions are more numerous and the idea of how an antagonist should act has also changed. Most of the I find try to push back and put "The server back where it was" and frankly this is now impossible, we've increased playercount from 35 on maxhour to upwards of 70 if we do not hide the server in time. Which also links me to my second reason, which is server presence as that has so far from you been as far I'm concerned only a few weeks of gameplay. Thus I'd like to ask do you think you'll stick to the server? How long do you plan to stick on the server? (If you have a plan, could be indifinetly for all I know). Do you plan to change your behaviour in any way on discord and other social platforms now that you'll be trying for a mod? If I'd recommend anything it is to play for about a month more before continuing with this to get acquinted with the station and newcode, otherwise I know voltage is a solid dude and outside of these presence issues I hope he makes it into a trial. -
[2 Dismissal] CCIA becoming "yet another whitelist" [Binned: 15/04/2018]
Coalf replied to Arrow768's topic in Rejected Policy
This was an absolute and COMPLETE exception that the MERCENARIES themselves requested and quite honestly CCIA's should not have this stupid aura of angelic might. The only reason they're protected by the rules is because it would be EXTREMELY annoying as pretty much every antag defaults to "Me bing bang CCIA". The reason this happened was because mercenaries were bored of capturing the same targets, this enabled quite a lot of teamplay from them as they actually disabled the CC shuttle before engaging the target, making sure he couldn't escape. Furthermore me and JMJ made it VERY CLEAR this was the ONLY TIME CCIA'S were valid and the only reason it was a CCIA was for the ease of spawning as I didn't have to make a 2 page paragraph explaining why this famous guy is suddenly coming to the station AND it enabled heightened co-operation as even the captain, i.e yourself got quite involved in the action and decision making as he wasn't the number one persona to capture and kill. CCIA's are still very much a department that requires co-operation and teamwork which honestly would be fucking IMPOSSIBLE to pull off with normal whitelist system. -
[Resolved] Character/Player Complaint - Paris Fawkes
Coalf replied to Worthy's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Honestly I do enjoy a speciestic character, I actually very much unironically enjoy having these violent anti-species character on-board as they provide an interesting anti-thesis to this libral heaven of Aurora and I frankly think that we could use more violent cronies like this as they're a nice spice in extended rounds, like a little personal antag for xenos. Thus I liked Fawkes the few times I encountered him. HOWEVER, if one is to act like this one must also accept the consequences, the amount of suspensions, reports and injuctions your character has received is unbelievable and frankly you should have just suspended him. Now to the actual point. I was present during the time of the round when you got arrested for sexually harassing the warden, I was the AI which I can't remember the name of as I always use a random name as an AI. Frankly the initial shock of security was completely overblown, I see more dirtier shit in security radio channel way more often and I think a small amount of bias might have been floating around, acceptable this is what happens with canon rounds, people actually dislike each other over longer periods of times. Now I remember the conversation went as this: *Spiders and alert is declared, everyone is issued lethal weapons and spiders are cleaned up now* Warden(Reed I believe?): "Could you bring the lethal laser gun on my table?" Fawkes: "I'm lethal, do you want me on your table, wink wink" Now at this point Altai and Katheryn go a bit, apeshit, hollering about sexual harassment and how the warden feels uncomfortable when the warden if I remember didn't even respond to the comment. Now the adult thing would have been to say it was a joke, you know the warden and to apologise and instead you bring up raping two cats. I mean my dude, that is not a human response, someone like that would have not gotten into security in the first place. So yeah, while I think this complaint is well placed, I don't think "He's a specieist" should be brought up as a point, however "He's unrealistically specieistic" is a valid point. mic drop EDIT: Guys the bias comment was meant as IC bias, i.e bias of characters towards other characters not OOC bias of players towards other players please stop ripping my flesh. -
Go back to the old design and revert the sublevel, the old design was great. Spacious hallways, all departments relatively easy to access, doors in appropriate hallways, Psych and Examination room removed enough from the main hallway to be properly used as an antag hidey hole. It was gucci.

Remove or tweak Tourettes from Brain Trauma for the sake of RP
Coalf replied to BurgerBB's topic in Completed Projects
It got tired really quickly, however it's probably one of the most impairing mental traumas since it makes both your character and you as a player annoyed and uncomfortable. Which I guess you could count as a success? I also do agree it distrupts the atmosphere a bit by how often it shows up, outside of nearsigtedness it seems like the mental trauma that just keeps showing up no matter what percentage it has. Right now I don't feel strong one way or the other. -
[Withdrawn] MoondancerPony's Coder Application II

Could I ask what these "Creative Differences" were? -
"I am not the person or player that this ban applies to. I have played successfully on Polaris & USCM servers without incident thus far." What exactly do you mean by this? Did you change as a person. Did you get this Ckey from someone else. Was it your brother. Did you steal someone's body. And to further clarify, why have you decided to come to our server when you're successful with Polaris and USMC?
-
Well then I agree with it, if it's intended to remove these agressive "Beepity Boopity get off my property" assault borgs for more defence centered, protecta-trons/control trons, then yes I do support it.
-
I do agree it is very eyebrow raising when a reset board and a swipe from two heads can upgrade borgs to a module that is either more or as powerful as the ridiculously expensive 35 TC syndicate cyborg which is also very, very broken as of now. However at the same time I agree that perhaps the combat borg module should not be outright removed but be replaced with a different module more focused on defense rather than offense, to not perpetuate this "Killing the antag is number 1 priority" mindset. I don't see merrit in "It's hard to kill so it shouldn't exist", but I agree with the fact that if it's this hard to kill and this lethal, it should certainly cost more than a 1000 metal and a swiping of ID cards.
