Question, won't this require like a bucketload of sprites? Or how do you plan to do this visually?

I'll tell you one thing I don't like, the maintenance door. The great about the current library is the seemless transition, a lot of people don't realize this but library is one of THE best spots to do shady shit in simply from how much cover the bookcases provide and how far away they are. From an antags perspective this is a big nerf, while moving a door up a few tiles doesn't seem like an issue at all it is a big smack in the face as it is now withing eyeshot and earshot of the librarian, crippling your very secret point of entry and no longer being shielded by the bookcases. Everything else was addressed already.

Thank you very much, that is exactly the kind of emotion I was going for.

Wow writing something about Tajara, what a brave and noble statement from you Coalf. Again, critique welcome and I'd like to extend thanks to ParadoxSpace who was kind enough to actually check over my grammar this time so it shouldn't be such garbage. Also, wowie internal hastened monologues are fun to write, it's basically like ranting but you're ranting for someone else and not yourself also listen to I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Harlan Ellison did an awesome job with the dramatic reading and it inspired the writing style of this story.

Perhaps we could just add the bandage as its own item and make it function similary to splints.

I like it

I think it's aesthetically disgusting, but outside of that it's pretty damn good. I never knew you could use blast doors on the shuttle and it seems like a coolio idea. But here are some highlights. RED: Seems kinda useless? Or atleast redudant, that room and the extra chair just look weird, like some kind of basketball coach spot. BLUE: I think you should add some more windows there, command can really use more windows to the side there I think. GREEN: I think you should place walls there, the "one side glass, other side wall" makes it too assymetrical for my tastes. Otherwise it looks good and I'd prefer it over the current giant fatass shuttle we have.

[Resolved] Staff Complaint: VoltageHero

Sorry it took longer than expected, timezones are a bitch. Anyways, after a long discussion we have decided the warning is: Valid While we agree that heads of staff CAN have emotions and stick to helping antags if it seems reasonable, however the way you went about it was frankly the part we found an issue with. As a CMO you hold quite the amount of authority in your department and a simple "The Patient isn't ready to go back in security," basically completely shuts down any attempts at arrests security may pose on you, there were many ways you could have handled it and the way you chose to go about it was found by us as the non-desirable one. Yes you are expected to give antagonists more leeway but what was described above was too much, the warning will stick. However the warning WILL be reworded as we found issue with the fact HOW it happened and not that it DID happen. Complaint will be locked and archived in 24 hours unless more proof surfaces. -

Hmmm, I know you somewhat and I do remember that you as majority of our players range from decent-good interactions and thus I'm satisfied on that part. What I don't like are the answers to the questions of what makes them interesting and what makes them different. You very well identified what makes them different, however at a very skin-deep level and if you don't mind I'll ask some supplementary questions to sate my curiosity: What Tajara faction, in your own opinion, is your favorite out of the three? Could you say why? Would you appreciate if Tajara ethnicities were more visibly different? (different sprites/descriptions) What do you think Tajara on-station are missing the most right now? Appropriate clothing? Bigger mechanical differences? Catnip? On the backstory, again I think it's a very generic "goodboi dindu nuffin", I don't like these types of characters I think they're boring but that has nothing to do with actual constructive criticism. I noticed the homosexual notion you inserted, don't really care as you seem to understand that for Tajara being gay isn't something you should be happy or public about. How did he react to the formation of the New Kingdom of Adhomai thought? We got a lot about ALA but not much about NKA. You are free to answer as many questions as you feel like answering. -
Alright on backstory: It's not my slice of pie but there is genuine care put into it, I like that you used the species to make a character instead of hamfisting the character to fit into the species. There is clear cut smell of consequences, the whole clan is shown to be affected by this choice and not only her which I think a lot of Guwan players like to skirt on as they usually have their character turn into this "Noble Violated Hero" while your character could be potentially marked as selfish under the right line of thought, I like that. I wouldn't call the guwan lesbian as "snowflakey" since the wiki itself doesn't shy away from gender nor are homosexual xenos as rare as people would think, what does not sit well with me however is that she just returns??? Yes I understand that she perhaps thought she could repair the damage she had caused but frankly it seems a bit weird for a character that hyped themselves up THIS hard to escape to just come back, I think a few days in the desert could have been better as it would have played a bit more on the "muh moghes preservation" theme you have going for them, but that's my own nitpick regarding the story structure not the lore itself. On OOC: You are very fun to play with, although I think you lean into the "Too friendly after a single interaction" category which I hold dislike for but it's slight it's nothing extreme and the nature of this game DOES kinda force you into speeding up interactions as you never knew when you'll meet the player ever again. I see you dip a LOT into in-game which I like VERY much, you have made some of the funniest poem books in the library which I actually unironically enjoy, you organized the whole poetry Jam even by yourself! And you didn't even use a discord as a crutch just forums and by hanging posters in game! That is awesome. Overall I'd 100% trust you with this whitelist although I hope you don't stop playing your librarian because of this because I'd miss those stacked bookshelves.

Question, how will inhalers be available? Will they only be orderable from cargo? Science printing? Default in medical? I'd prefer them being in science so I can provide medical with something useful for once. EDIT: Ignore me I failed my reading classes apperantly they start in chemistry locker, would still like them to be in science or atleast more effective versions.
-
The point is that both departments are reliant on each other, it became even more obvious now as miners simply ignore science and mine for 2 hours and then deliver the materials on their wait to the shuttle that's departing in 2 minutes. Besides you are right about the KPA, the main point is to make the shit that strip-mines the asteroid in minutes. Although I still think printable magboots would be nice.
-
Speaks for itself, there is no reason to keep them in there. Miners will be motivated to mine and actually have the materials delivered by themselves to receive upgrades and science will have something useful to print for once. Everything else can stay, I recognize the KA/RIG/etc. makes the job much easier, I just don't think something like the AoE upgrade should be freely available for a pretty low point cost. It turns the job into a triviality. I have recently been annoyed by miners who strip-mine the entire asteroid and do not deliver a single material until the 2 hour mark because they're on their way to escape anyways, departments should co-operate instead of sitting in their little bubbles of content.

It seems we gathered what information we could, tommorow we should deliver our final verdict if nothing comes into our way. -
Would could also put an epilepsy warning on the welcome screen? Maybe?

We already have cybereyes, cyberheart, ticker, cyberweiner whatever in the loadout. Last I checked we don't have an "Ear" organ. This seems like an okay way to address hearing loss without having to create another organ or having to put some kind of "implant" into the players head to malfunction. Not only that but it gives you an option to do it, doesn't force you into it. Also sci-fi.

I'll say the unpopular thing, I don't like the backstory. I'm not a fan of this "re-purposed IPC duder is now a crewmember", it's not my speed and I think it's all around overdone. You DID use the new lore event to explain why they were accepted and that part I like VERY much, but I feel like it's a good idea used in a poor story. Outside of that you can handle your RP well I know that, your characters are also drasticailly different showing that you indeed do understand that roleplay means playing a character and not playing yourself. I don't have issue with any of the other responses. So yes, I do not like the backstory, I feel like it's overdone but that might be my personal opinion and I don't have any other issue with you getting the whitelist outside of that. -
What you just said undermines itself. Why would I exactly order firing pins when as you said assault-shotguns are available? If you compare the two, the effort, time, malfunction chance and even if you have max level parts, low strenght, just makes Modular Guns absolutely worthless, not only on rev but to security who can just use their own weapons to a better effect. On other other hand you have assault shotguns, the downside is that they're expensive and come in a locked crate. That's it, they're better, much MUCH stronger than anything on station, and never malfunction with the added bonus that ammo is nearly limitless as long as you have a hacked prolathe. So modular guns right now are, pointless, I have not seen a modular gun used once outside of testing range and I play this game DAILY. Second the "teamwork" thing seems to be completely biased to thinking science is the rev starting department, now imagine science ISN'T a rev department but instead a cargo tech/sec officer/med doctor is. Why would I recruit science? (excluding robotics) They can't provide me with better weapons, none of the existing items in science are actually useful outside of nanopaste and modular guns which as we mentioned are weaker, breakable, time consuming to make etc etc. On your second point. Why? Again why would I order pins? If I order pins as a non-antag, well why am I ordering them? To hunt valids? I can't do that, it's against the rules and I already know security doesn't actually want these guns since they don't give me the pins, they'll just take the gun and put a pin in it at armory or get a lawgiver instead of a modular gun. Maybe I AM an antag like traitor, ling or vampire? Well WHY would I get firing pins? The guns I can summon are way more powerful than anything I can make in science and if anything I could just again order an assault-shotgun. And if I'm a rev? Well again, why am I ordering it? I can just get an assault-shotgun for a few shekels more which my co-revs will provide. Firing pins were conceived in a time before modular weaposn and as of now have COMPLETELY negated modular weapons, instead giving way for cargo to print billions of Force Gloves, Energy Glaives, Shields, Plasma Cutters or just makeshift guns. It was a lazy way to solve the "Gun Factory" problem, the issue isn't really that science COULD make weapons but that science COULD NOT make anything ELSE. Seriously how many useful items can you print in science that help different departments than science? Machine upgrades take good 20 minutes, the single surgery tool is useless as it only saves about 2 seconds of operation and just gets surgeons confused and nanopaste is something people are eternally butthurt over. And then you have nothing. In the best result we add more stuff to science, something that is being worked on so I'm excited about that. But we are speaking of today and not tommorow so AT-LEAST allow science to print their own firing pins. I don't care if it's stupidly materially expensive or the research is on the level of Energy Glaives just give them a CHANCE to have fun.

Frankly it's very hard to discern good intentions if they are packed under so many layers of brine that an eel would enter toxic shock. No I won't and I can't even, forbid you from posting memes on reddit even if in my opinion they are poor tastes and frankly just whines, free speech and all that I am probably the last person to want to mute people due to posting memes on other chatrooms. I explained everything and I'll do the adult thing. I apologise for the virology incident, I got unreasonably upset simple as that, "butthurt" the kids call it.
-
Now to address a few things. One and the main one, it seems like you made this complaint not because of "Rising Tension" but mainly because of that single confrontation on discord. The Virology one, as the prior cases are built on much shoddier ground. And yes, I blew my lid, perhaps more than I should have, but let me explain exactly WHY as you seem to have misinterpreted that. I did NOT get angry because you made fun of the code, I got angry because you made fun of the server as a whole for not accepting your ideas. Let me break it down. This statement basically says that virology is bad as it is for HRP, and I agreed, however they way you worded it seemed like you just plainly wanted it completely removed. Which I didn't appreciate and thus I responded with my "No harm in keeping it there" to which you blame something else This implies you blame the entire setting, that this setup is nonsensical and we should just not have it, now this got me a bit miffed. I am (although only shortly) part of the lore team and I can recognize how hard it is it blend Gameplay, RP and the Setting together into an atleast tolerable mesh, you decide that the setting itself is just bad because you don't like virology, but you don't stop there. This is what poked me in the wrong spot, because you always do this. As soon as something doesn't agree with you, you run to some other website/discord to complain about the SERVER as a WHOLE. I spend stupid and frankly sad amount of hours playing and moderating this game, so yes at this point I just think "Okay he's fucking with me" Now the other posts weren't all that relevant, at this point I was just half-assedly blowing them away but in the meantime I checked for something as I hoped to simply put "Make a suggestion thread" in the discord, but due to some strange foresight I checked the whole subforum. And there it fucking was, your thread with your suggestion and guess what, people were disagreeing with you and it all happened to be about virology. This is what got my tugger in a chugger, you decided that instead of addressing those points raised, you'd go to discord and just randomly "shitpost" as you called it, about the entire server. And you do this VERY often. Be it through a third media site or discord itself. THAT is what upset me, not my relation to the code itself.
-
We did speak over discord. The response from both was "I don't care" So whatever
