Yeah I am ok with it being automatically tallied and printed, allows people to keep track of mining yields far more effectively than a miner who has a decent chance to mess up counting.

Clear criteria for calling an Emergency Shuttle
ben10083 replied to Screemers's topic in Rejected Policy
Nah, likely should be blue/yellow, red requires multiple heads, which is sometimes not possible. Perhaps make it required to send a fax/ebs first explaining the situation, and if they do not send such a message CCIA/admins can cancel the shuttle at their discretion. -
I disagree with this idea due to the reasons outlined above by others and also due to the fact that it would make so sense for everyone to suddenly work for Jargon, (NT just packs its bags and leaves the richest Phoron deposits in the galaxy?), and also since this will screw over all of the synthetic players, which is a large portion of xenos. I understand how discrimination breeds RP, but this is not the way to go about it.

Yes, it is true that Fernando has done many things which has resulted in someone filling an ir (In which investigation showed that he did not violate any regulations and policies). But does this affect his capability to have a head of staff whitelist? Not in the slightest. You see, this is one of the problems we have, of heads of staff thinking that they must play a goodie-two-shoes with a heart of gold and infinite compassion, when in reality heads can also self-antaging (Keep in mind I mean self-antaging as permitted in the rules.). True, Fernando is kind of sketchy, but there are many bosses and higher ups that are similar, and I would argue that it is more realistic that not every single head is a loyalist to the company and treats the company as a god. A good character is not one that is everyone's friend, a good character is one with weaknesses, strengths, and with different relationships to other characters. He is not a failure of the whitelist process, he is a success who's character should be seen as a example of a effective head of staff. In regards to your claim that "he wormed his way into CCIA", like all applicants, his request to join CCIA was discussed amongst CCIA and it was determined that he would be a good addition to the team, and so far I have not seen any indication of abuse of staff authority or other severe errors. In regards to your last sentence of the futility of ahelping, it was futile since he was not breaking any rules, and his unique playstyle and character made people question if it was OOCly allowed (it is)

Today I will pray to the almighty fax machine and beg for forgiveness, in an attempt to slowdown the rate of IRs being created. ?

I am unsure about if this would harm performance, but perhaps have it be a sort of bubble that expands from the weapon, slowly engulfing the station (perhaps also increase in speed over time?)

Not part of the suggestion. Overall I like this idea, allows for the crew members to interesting final moments before they get thanos'd they die, instead of the sudden "boom" and 3 minute lag spike followed by everyone going horizontal for 20 seconds until the cutscene loads in.

I really do not see the problem with the small oversight of janibots We have a blood worshiping demon that actually exists, yet never shown to be public We have Glorsh, who disappeared because "reasons" We have teleporting bears We have a artillery cannon that is somehow able to teleport Bluespace shells into a specific area We have Bugs who live in a VR paradise and never die due to "unknown technology" The list goes on. Overall, such a small oversight is not a dealbreaker.

Floorbots and other similar bots have robotic chips as well, although inferior to ones used in robots, would still be affected.
-
Postibrains, Robotic chips, and MMIs are likely affected due to their unique intelligence (also it doesn't have to be 100% realistic to work).

Interesting idea, but instead of just being gibbed, how about everyone turns into goop or ashes?

1. regarding the leaders thing, this is mostly just true for third world countries and/or dictators, and a Corporate Captain is neither 2. In regards to sword knowledge, this brings up another point. Why would NT teach their Captain swordfighting when a gun is far safer and practical?

Hello, I have a few things to say about this. 1. In terms of the pylons, these were a pretty good idea in terms of allowing the people who wanted "action" in their round to get their slice of the enjoyment pie, sure, pylons are powerful, but I doubt they were a dealbreaker for sec. 2. In terms of event size, to put in context, an example of a large event would be when Sol invaded the Aurora when a BSA was spawned in it, and took over the station and used the firing array to target Mendel City and the NTCC Odin 3. Footnotes are not in the realm of staff complaints, in fact, I would argue that this is something where you would talk to the Event Creator themselves and provide feedback, instead of using a staff complaint to try to force them to not make events that some people don't like (which is impossible, you cannot appease everyone.). I am worried that this complaint might create a precedent of admins or other staff members being wary of trying anything new or doing events in fear of one person not liking how they set up their holoplants, and be the target of a staff complaint to punish them for their crime of trying to have as many people as possible enjoy a event. (Summary: No event is perfect, and trying to appease everyone is impossible, trying to spice up a round should be praised, not condemned.)

This policy suggestion thread has gone from it's original idea of having CT doing the declarations to becoming a regular suggestion on reworking declarations due to hijacking, please keep on topic and make your own suggestion in you wish to continue your idea. I like the idea of having CTs will out the Yield Declaration, gives them more stuff to do and allows the miner to work sooner and therefore be more productive.

Central Command Announcements / Confirmation Faxes
ben10083 replied to sonicgotnuked's topic in General
We already recieve the contents of fake announcements, like garn said, there are ooc consequences if you ask for confirmation for no reason, and we have ccia policies in place to also deal with it. -1 -
1) If we were that worried about breaches guns would be rare, but its the opposite. The fax is there because a alternative way to transmit paperwork was not not thought of. 2) The captain is not above regulations and policy, the pets and other benefits were given by NanoTrasen for morale of HRs. 3) Unlike the gun, swords have no stun option, its either kill or dismember, and either option cuts someone from the round. 4) Its unrealistic for a Captain to risk his life so haphazardly, even if some captains would, a sword would force all to follow suit. 5) Even though they have methods, a nonviolent option is even less likely (like kidnapping) 6) Makes sense lorewise, only grabbed in emergencies, makes sense for NT to provide, safer for Captain to use, etc.
-
I do not agree with this suggestion for the following reasons: 1. Does not fit the setting of a futuristic space station 2. Sword is a military tradition for officers, the Captain is neither in the military nor is he a officer 3. Encourages Captain valid hunting worse than the gun, since the sword can amputate limbs 4. Extremely dangerous for Captain since he has to close the distance and do CQC 5. Encourages captain being always armed with a saber, making it harder for antags 6. Gun is a overall superior alternative -1

You would risk meta about phrases, also I like the idea of allowing players to decide their own phrase, bad ones can be dealt by admins.
-
Going to go into a bit of how I imagine a round like this would go, skip if you do not care I feel that you should have a antag preference regarding if you want to be patient 0, and also recommend setting up a way for admins to give the antag another host if they leave or go afk I think it should just be something that people find out about on their own, or the psych can find out what the trigger is through therapy. Regulations and jazz already cover this antag, since all the HoS/Captain/IAA needs to do is make a injunction about how they must never say a certain phrase. Also I think it should be at least 2-3 words, no 1 word triggers As tempted as I am to have a word like "Communism" or "Yeet" as a trigger .

the coalf one about tajaran changes cracked me up solely over coalf's mouth.

How about Memetic Hazard? (You are not the only guy here that knows SCPs) Regards to counterplay, I feel this will be a very effective way to have psych have more meat to it. Perhaps it's crystal chamber thing can remove the anomaly? I am slightly worried about the phrase however, as it would likely be something like "security" or "medical". Not that this is a bad thing, I personally enjoy that idea. If this gets added I am going to have my phrase be "Have a NanoTrasen Day!" I feel that there should be some ablities to allow the infected to fight against organized threats, such as a super shriek or some other thing. I recommend having infected sometimes say the phrase randomly, as a sign they are infected. Overall, really like this idea, and hope that a dev picks it up +1

Its rather simple really, CCIA is basically the IC admins. We deal with IRs and other IC issues such as faxes and the like. We do not have bias in regards to species because of the ooc consequences of losing a character, and we decided that the pros of being more realistic does not outweigh the cons the bias would cause. Back on topic. I understand the concern to make humans have more special factors, but I feel that self regeneration like Wolverine is not a good idea (yes, I am aware oit will be slow and that bleeding stuff, but that just takes time and a bandage.) Also, I would be surprised if the other species do not have similar healing factors to us humans, as it would make sense biologically if they did.
