  1. Roundstart is the most vulnerable part of every antag's game, they need some sort of control, or they will be hampered for a large part of the round.
  2. I do not like this suggestion, and here is why: In Aurora, there is enough tedious stonewalling that antags have to face, they are tasked to create a story that entertains, yet also are faced with the obstacles that are the majority of the crew. For example, in rev, you have: Command questioning every attempt at deception you try, making using fake announcements and forgery very difficult (Seriously, there is a 9/10 chance they immediately send us a fax indirectly asking us to shut down the gimic) Security Other crew who are "Not exactly loyalist but will fight the revolutionaries when given the chance" Overall, I feel having the borers as they are is a step in the right direction for the server. Regardless, give it a month at least, then we can look back and see if having involuntary round start hosts was good in the end or not.
  3. Wouldn't this make another obstacle for IPC Miners? Tesla can emp synthetics.
  4. The 40k Universe has some.. inspirations... for any melee weapons.
  5. @Aphelion Thanks for the info, out of curiosity, has there been any addition to exosuit equipment? Has there been any changes to mech weapons?
  6. I don't like the idea of a security officer, who knows basic engineering (hacking), or RnD. Security guards can guard a area without knowing how to operate said area.
  7. I really dislike the back entrance, this is just begging security/engineering/mining to just always take the back, as you only face one turret and can screw them over by taking out like,1-2 cameras? Rest I am fine with.
  8. The reason people do secret is that there are people who only see it as their objective to "win" against the ai. If malf was vote only, you will see the following A) Constant doubting of Central Command Announcements B) Constant verbal suspicion of synthetics C) Constant Suspicion of AI Overall, I think it is fine as it is, perhaps add a time requirement to malf ai?
  9. I will start off my saying that I do not agree with this suggestion, and will counter the points raised to favor it. "Malf Rounds are usually bad" This is extremely subjective. It is simply foolish to expect a 'perfect' game where everyone is happy. You see this all the times with admin events. There will always be people you do not please, and this is true for all antag gamemodes as well. "All games either end in delta ai or dead ai" This argument doesn't really hold water. If you simplify stuff to such an extent you can say this about literally any game-mode. (Example: Revolution "Either Revs or Loyalists win" Merc "Either Mercs win or they die/captured") Not to mention, there has been many maf rounds where a delta isnt used, or is used as a means to unlock abilities rather tham nuke the station "Improve is no longer feasible" It is clear that there is a sizable part of the community that likes Malf, as it is commonly a round that people engage in, rather than some gamemodes that have periods of some people cryoing. People don;t want things removed people they see potential, and they are intrigued by the concept the game-mode presents.
  10. As it stands there is no way to spawn as a perma brig prisoner As long as the rp is there somewhat, being a kleptomaniac is fine (By RP I mean you should at least do something roleplay about the stuff, this doesn't mean you need to play charades with the victim)
  11. Just here to add some random fax No matter the planet/environment. Every planet has a 'carrying capacity' where only so many organisms can live in a environment at once, a "limit" if you will. These limtis correspond to survival factors such as food, water, and housing. Many human geographers estimate that the carrying capacity for Earth is 10 Billion, after which further population increases would be hard to maintain. Perhaps if we consider factors such as this for population?
  12. We have rules in place to prevent abuse of ghost role, we can just edit it to say information you learned from that form of ghosting is also not allowed to be used.
  13. The Mythical NanoTrasen Employee Contract covers medical expenses and cloning.
  14. This 'suggestion' thread has been derailed as no suggestions are actually brought up by the creator. Please make a separate suggestion thread for your ideas.
  15. Its not a bug, a ? icon is what the system defaults to if the icon state doesnt exist. Here is a list of occupations without icons (obv antags don't have one) (Sorry if I mess up one) CSI ERT (and cmdr) CCIAA Other Ghost roles Overall, this is mostly just a oversight.
  16. Problem I see is as follows. Yes, voted captains are not cleared by central to know. But if it is code delta, I feel we should be mildly oocly lenient in this regard so we don't have ai stonewalling the sat because no one on board is authorized. I have no intention for it to be for captain decisions via vote, only voted captains may be given knowledge. However I am open to giving them limited knowledge or limited authorization.
  17. This line of logic can be used for all NanoTrasen Personnel, as each one 'represents' the company
  18. I like this concept and expanded on it to my own version: ALERT: Code Delta Activation Detected. Directive Omega Now in Effect. Notice: Directive Omega is to be considered a direct order by the NanoTrasen Board for law purposes. The existence of Directive Omega may be revealed upon request, but the contents of Directive Omega are not to be revealed to non-authorized personnel. Authorized Personnel are considered the following: Captain+, Central Command Personnel. Head of Staff who were elevated to captaincy by head of staff vote are also considered authorized personnel Do not respond to any questions, comments, statements, and other forms of communication regarding the failsafe The failsafe and the area around the failsafe are to be considered the highest-security areas on the station, these areas are to be secured at all times while Code-Delta is in effect. Non-authorized personnel are not permitted to enter these areas without prior authorization. In the event that the Failsafe Authorization Disk has been lost/stolen/destroyed, retrieval of the disk is to be considered your top priority. Efforts are to be made to reduce stress among crew during Code-Delta
  19. They say its a you problem because if the antag makes a bomb strong enough to pierce the entire asteroid to the surface, you are using overkill. I don't agree with this suggestion for the following reasons: 1. There are ladders in maint which lead to surface, heads can swipe to open maint for all so they can utilize these stairs 2. surface would just because the transfer floor to main, instead of the EOR gathering departure space 3. No real space for it without a massive overhaul of the command section (which is estimated to be place) 4. You expect me to believe that a automated shuttle just zooms out of bluespace, zooms perfectly down the asteroid, and lands in a awkward landing zone? 5. It is between security and command, and would likely be the unintended recipient of some damage due to bombs (aka the ones that are not overkilled) Overall, I see no reason to change it to surface, and there are multiple measures to reach the surface if elevators don't work.
  20. When you enter the state that the cryo cell puts in, it puts you in suspended animation. It makes no sense for the person to be able to emote or use their senses when frozen, and it would be physically impossible. I feel that this is something that is simply too unrealistic to implement.
  21. Yet the parapen is a one-time use (you have to make your own 'ammo' afterwards), which is balanced by its cheap cost and concealment. Security will rekt your shit if you are seen with a crossbow, and I won't be surprised if you can still use the radio for a bit after getting hit, causing you to be revealed regardless. So once again, what makes the pen the problem here? With emags causing instant conversions, agent ids providing ez all access, and a multitude of weapons that can 1-2 shot anyone, why is the fucking pen the problem? Once again, what makes to pen so bad? All it does is knock you out for a bit so the antag can actually try something stealthy before sec sniffs them out.
  22. Why not just in the Captain's quarters. Perhaps involve the fox in some way (on the pet?) or in a glass case similar to the gun
  23. I feel that these standards cannot be reasonable met without a form of official 'standard' for records and/or flavor text
