Implement Clear Code Delta guidelines for AI
ben10083 replied to sonicgotnuked's topic in Rejected Policy
Problem I see is as follows. Yes, voted captains are not cleared by central to know. But if it is code delta, I feel we should be mildly oocly lenient in this regard so we don't have ai stonewalling the sat because no one on board is authorized. I have no intention for it to be for captain decisions via vote, only voted captains may be given knowledge. However I am open to giving them limited knowledge or limited authorization. -
Implement Clear Code Delta guidelines for AI

I like this concept and expanded on it to my own version: ALERT: Code Delta Activation Detected. Directive Omega Now in Effect. Notice: Directive Omega is to be considered a direct order by the NanoTrasen Board for law purposes. The existence of Directive Omega may be revealed upon request, but the contents of Directive Omega are not to be revealed to non-authorized personnel. Authorized Personnel are considered the following: Captain+, Central Command Personnel. Head of Staff who were elevated to captaincy by head of staff vote are also considered authorized personnel Do not respond to any questions, comments, statements, and other forms of communication regarding the failsafe The failsafe and the area around the failsafe are to be considered the highest-security areas on the station, these areas are to be secured at all times while Code-Delta is in effect. Non-authorized personnel are not permitted to enter these areas without prior authorization. In the event that the Failsafe Authorization Disk has been lost/stolen/destroyed, retrieval of the disk is to be considered your top priority. Efforts are to be made to reduce stress among crew during Code-Delta -
They say its a you problem because if the antag makes a bomb strong enough to pierce the entire asteroid to the surface, you are using overkill. I don't agree with this suggestion for the following reasons: 1. There are ladders in maint which lead to surface, heads can swipe to open maint for all so they can utilize these stairs 2. surface would just because the transfer floor to main, instead of the EOR gathering departure space 3. No real space for it without a massive overhaul of the command section (which is estimated to be place) 4. You expect me to believe that a automated shuttle just zooms out of bluespace, zooms perfectly down the asteroid, and lands in a awkward landing zone? 5. It is between security and command, and would likely be the unintended recipient of some damage due to bombs (aka the ones that are not overkilled) Overall, I see no reason to change it to surface, and there are multiple measures to reach the surface if elevators don't work.

When you enter the state that the cryo cell puts in, it puts you in suspended animation. It makes no sense for the person to be able to emote or use their senses when frozen, and it would be physically impossible. I feel that this is something that is simply too unrealistic to implement.

Yet the parapen is a one-time use (you have to make your own 'ammo' afterwards), which is balanced by its cheap cost and concealment. Security will rekt your shit if you are seen with a crossbow, and I won't be surprised if you can still use the radio for a bit after getting hit, causing you to be revealed regardless. So once again, what makes the pen the problem here? With emags causing instant conversions, agent ids providing ez all access, and a multitude of weapons that can 1-2 shot anyone, why is the fucking pen the problem? Once again, what makes to pen so bad? All it does is knock you out for a bit so the antag can actually try something stealthy before sec sniffs them out.

Why not just in the Captain's quarters. Perhaps involve the fox in some way (on the pet?) or in a glass case similar to the gun
-
What is the key difference between a crossbow and a pen, where the pen is seen as overpowered?
-
Basically this. I do not see the logic behind removing silent ways to capture someone, especially considering some projects on this forum to make the parapen more "friendly" to their target. How is the parapen deserving of getting gutted into a shadow of its former self, especially considering other items in the traitor's arsenal
-
I do not see the point in this at all. Staff deal with the issue just fine. So what if you 'lost' the game due to a tool, if I die to a laser rifle I am not going to remove laser rifle in favor of 4 different kinds of laser weapons, each with different effects but each significantly weaker than the old one. What I am saying is, antags need powerful tools to counteract NT's natural advantage of mass coordination. I love stealth tools like this, and removing it jsut because the guy didnt just chop your head off with a energy sword is silly. These kinds of PRs will simply encourage ganking, instead of dealing with this 'issue', as it removes the antag's ability to go silent instead of guns blazing like 99% already do. -1

Humans are a resource ? I see the logic behind the change, although I find the term "Crew Resources" to be a wierd way to describe employees at a workplace. Perhaps "Employee Oversight" or something similar?

Sweater Gang. +1. However, perhaps modify the sprite so you can see the undershirt and tie better?

FEEDBACK: Syndicate Commander Gamemode
ben10083 replied to Wildkins's topic in Discontinued Projects
I will support this idea if the commander gets a ai-style view. The reasons are as follows: 1. Allows for the commander to track multiple operatives at once 2. Using just cameras adds the annoying factor of having to discover where each person is, requiring advanced map awareness and making the role needlessly difficult for new people 3. Allows of more dynamic abilities and the capacity to use them easily Overall, it will be unfortunate if the commander will have to play with the camera console ui to his right, and constantly jumping cams to try to do things. -
Reporter already has a spider pet why does no one know this his office is in plain view you can see the spider everytime you walk past wtf
-
Not to mention RD's current "pet" is a facehugger, which brings up lore issues and rp issues (So xenobiology DOESNT care about the unknown species in the glass cage?) I like the rabbit, although I would like if he has something research themed on him, perhaps a little labcoat? Also, the rabbit's name should be Professor Chester

Someone ask the synthetic lore dev if hivebots are sentient.
-
This idea is either a +1 opr a BIG -1 depends on if they can use radio Because if they use radio, here is how every future interaction will go. *stabs janitor with parapen* >para pen takes affect Janitor: "HALP I WAS STABBED WITH PARAPEN AT CARGO LOBBY COORDINATES 35, 203, -4! Security: tldr: If you allow them to use radio, this cant be implemented as it would make the parapen useless.
-
"Interact with no humanoid or synthetic being that is not a fellow maintenance drone. Hivebots are excluded." Personally I dont like the wording of this, perhaps something like this instead: "Interact with no humanoid or sentient synthetic being that is not a fellow maintenance drone."

Yeah when I had this happen to me over and over again, I found out that it was a stun time of 10-15 seconds per flash, and timer resets per every flash. That led me to fiddle with values to make it reasonable. Unless there was a recent change, I am unsure if the flash was touched after that.

Basically this. Also lads combat module isnt that op, malf should be able to use it (in the small chance it somehow was removed)

iirc, this was mentioned extensively in previous pages on this thread. The rules of the suggestion forum applies to the project forum as well, as such, please read the thread before commenting. Or in other words However, since I am going to assume that since it is a different pr, that policy will need to be looked into again, I will look into having CCIA make atleast a rough draft of policy changes that will result with deptsec.
