  1. Reporting Personnel: Ziva Ta'kim Rank of Reporting Personnel: Mechatronic Engineer Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Akhmar Ahmed, Research Director: Offender (Garnascus) - Kas'yrr Ta'kim, Security Officer: Witness (Serveris6) - Dirk Lightstar, Detective: Witness (Kaiser19) - Joel Thraine, Detective: Witness (Shameonturtles) - DATA Shard 7, borg: Witness (xdwbx) - Phoebe Essel, Assistant: Witness (NursieKitty) - Vengar Ra'iaxka, Security Officer: Witness (Arvak Morekborn) - Tom Jackson, Security Officer: Witness (The Lancer) Time of Incident: June 17, 14:50 Real time: 4:28 AM Pacific Location of Incident: Robotics Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty [X]Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: The Director arrived almost three hours into the shift, while Ziva was taking a break in the bar with Kas'yrr. When he got to robotics he started yelling about a decapitated monkey in robotics that She didn't know was there, and accursing Her of it. When She told him it wasn't Her, he began yelling at Her, demaning She 'come clean', even though the borg Data Shard 7 said it did this to the monkey. He continued yelling at Her, threatened Her job, and started threatening other people with security action on radio and in person, demanding a full investigation of the monkey and insisting She had to of killed the monkey. Everyone listed above was a witness to the yelling and threats. The detectives determined there's no evidence to indicate anything and the Director still insisted She was guilty despite the borg's confession and everything else. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: He was the only head of staff. - Additional notes: She thinks the director is biased against Her because of Her species. He also called Her 'unintelligent' after She asked if all this was because She's Tajara.
  2. I'd prefer it to be knowledge available to anyone, not something that only an 'elite few' get to know.
  3. Popping in just to say I've been wanting to copy details from my old characters from old code. Apparently the old server's been taken down now?
  4. Hello! I'd like to take a moment to remind people about this particular section of the rule's post for whitelist applications: Please try to put some effort into your replies, beyond just a '+1' or a 'He's cool, +1'
  5. I'm going to step in here for a moment. Do any of you think you're going to get any further with this discussion/complaint without arguing over the same points continually, before an admin can arrive to post their decision on this thread? If not, I'd recommend leaving it be for Skull or another admin to review. Going back and forth over the same issue(s) isn't going to do much more than inflate the thread and make it take longer to review everything posted. Also, what Serveris said.
  6. If I recall correctly, one of the IC requirements of being hired on a NanoTrasen space station/facility was being able to speak and understand Tau Ceti Basic at a basic/understandable level. I know I've seen one or two characters that are mute or cannot talk for other reasons (One was autistic), but I do think this should be considered (Unless it's changed and I'm not aware).
  7. I'm just going to jump in here for a moment and ask everyone to calm down and play nice. Staff are not exempt from the forum rules, and if I have to, I'll call Skull in. If you do not have anything constructive to add to this ban request, please do not reply. If you were directly involved in the incident and happen to also be staff, please try to make it clear your post is /not/ a staff decision on the request.
  8. Probably, the complaint was made for the incident in the OP but additional things coming up make it obvious that a ban request'd be better. I can move and re-title this thread if you want; Saves you the trouble of posting a new thread in the ban requests section. However, keep in mind that admins have said in the past that ban requests are primarily for outright/blatant grief that has occured when no staff were online to handle it at the time. Based on that, I do personally think this may be best kept as a player complaint. Your choice.
  9. Alright, so for some questions that are more on-topic with a wiki-dev application... Are you familiar with the usage of MediaWiki? How to format pages and such? Can we trust you not to try mucking with other wiki pages or providing false information?
  10. Well, the file /looks/ clean: https://virusscan.jotti.org/en-US/filescanjob/cfpnvkionw https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/b575e368df62c5b0de450d9f3e296592a263ecf487964f1c8f37068355c3c8bf/analysis/1461614833/ I'd prefer to see the source code for this before I even think of actually running and 'testing' it, though. A self contained .exe posted by someone who I've never seen before on a forum for an /open source/ game raises so many red flags for me.
  11. You know, instead of having to break the case or use a multitool to unlock it... Why aren't these things just ID-locked and open-able by using a relevant ID? Why hasn't this even been suggested? It makes the most sense from an IC standpoint.
  12. What about a bound that's actually bound to the 'Antag' hive? I think I recall you saying that there was a hive reserved for antag shenannigans.
  13. Citation/source/evidence needed?
  14. That happens alot more often than you might think. The key is to try not to get caught
  15. Except DO's can't even do that. The report is immediately shot down as 'There was an antag, close it'.
  16. Sorry, been busy. Just asking because I'm genuinely curious but haven't had the time to actually go digging for things if the links are readily available; Plus, I think being able to actually see the examples of past work is helpful in giving an opinion on the application.
  17. Can you show us these examples of past work?
  18. It must be new to newcode then, which I've basically never gotten antag on cause RNG.
  19. hmm, not quite getting what you mean here, isn't it typical to double these things at each step? I'm curious about the resolution of the sleeper bed, for example: what's the resolution of this? no way its 32^2 looks more like 256 to me? am i to understand that sprites can have variable resolutions, as long as they stick to those increments? Can item sprites be made as detailed as desired (technically speaking, not a matter of policy) The sprite looks bigger than 32x32 because Byond 'zooms in' to fill the screen by default. I forget which menu it is /exactly/, but there's a dropdown menu at the top for changing the resolution/zoom/etc. recently ive mostly worked with unity engine and C#. in the past ive worked with lsl and as3 extensively, and smaller doses of html and PHP. I've been coding on and off in some form for about nine years, pretty familiar with some of the workings of object oriented language. i'd say my coding skill is journeyman, moderate. Version control software, i understand the principles, but have only actually used it once, i worked as part of a small team on a civ IV mod, we had a tortoise svn server run by one of the team members, i was making lots of commits almost every day in the couple of months i worked with them. i was on that team as an artist so it was largely xml and assets i was committing. Alright, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get into working on this. I'd get with Skull132 to have him show you the way things are usually/preferred to be done when making changes and proposing them to the main fork. Most, if not all, sprite files are in the icons/ folder (Ignore the 48x48 folder, it's not used), with the file extension .dmi. You'll want to open these with dream maker. Files with the extension .dm are code.
  20. Until the economy system is a thing, it's more or less just pretend the payment happened I believe.
  21. Regarding the ides of traitor item vs detective item... I'd say make it both. If both antags and non-antags have access to the same item, it'd help reduce the potential metagame aspect of 'Hey this guy has this item he's definitely an antag'. Also, this would be quite useful for both roles.
  22. I'm going to ask a couple questions, which should help me answer yours: How familiar are you with coding/programming in general? How familiar are you with using github or version control software in general?
  23. This wouldn't be possible. The incident has to be canon in order for CCIA to actually have taken action on it. It'd make 0 sense for CCIA to investigate an issue that everyone's prohibited from remembering even happened.
  24. There was some brief discussion on the post in the discord channel before anything was actually taken; One of the reasons this post got a warning is because of the past history of recent notes/forum warnings Delta already has. If you check his forum notes, you'll notice two prior warnings and 3 notes about PMs forum mods have sent him regarding. I personally use a specific strike-based system with forum moderating - You get 2-3 PM reminders/warnings that aren't actual forum warnings, then 2-3 official forum warnings, then I take things to an admin if there's been a consistent issue beyond that; I did mention that in the discord discussion and I think that influenced the post receiving a warning. On the other hand Jboy does also use the forum warning system in place of sending forum PMs for first, second, third, etc offenses. If admins okay it, I can post a screenshot of the note/warnings log for reference. I can say that most of the notes are in regards to getting off topic in the complaints section, and personal attacks. Out of this there are 3 PM notes from myself and 3 forum warnings, including this one, from Jboy.
  25. The supermatter core isn't something I'd consider unique and irreplaceable; You can order a new one from cargo.
