  1. Only post if involved. If you are not a moderator or administrator and were not involved in the incident(s) referred to, you may not post or reply to a staff complaint regarding said incident(s). It is permissible, however, to provide testimony regarding a staff member's behavior backed by proof, in the form of screenshots or logs. Actually, the unban requests section is open for discussion from everyone. Here's the rules for this section: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=5267
  2. I like this idea, but want to ask something - How would we handle something like using the engineering department account to pay for an order? There's no ID tied to those.
  3. My main thought would be to have a notification added to that window that pops up on connect when there's new notifications/announcements/unread changelog entries/etc if you have an unread PM in your inbox. I do know that forum accounts and byond ckeys are linked, thanks to web interface shennanigans, but I'm not sure if it's possible to detect unread forum PMs through whatever API is used for that link. This would help in knowing you have a forum PM waiting for you if you don't check the forums on a regular basis, and would help with the occasional 'Hey, if you see XYZ on, tell him to check the forums for a PM from CCIA' thing we have to send to modmins every now and then for incident reports and such.
  4. I don't think Muncorn's still doing this.
  5. Concerning the name changes, something has crossed my mind that might pose a bit of a headache. I have a 'character' that's actually just a character slot used for the entire production line of Sydney working-class synthetics (IPCs). These are mass-produced, assembly line, cookie-cutter synths designed to perform specific tasks exclusively for NanoTrasen (Under company contract). Each one has a specific name that denotes which general area/department they're developed for, followed by a randomized roman numeral to indicate which unit in that series the IPC is - I.e. Sydney Mu-XXIV would by the 24th unit in the Medical category. It's a bit of an overcomplicated thing just for a name perhaps, but it's just a little bit of extra work toward making an immersive synthetic character in my opinion; It is otherwise the same 'character' (Albeit they have no memory between shifts, because technically it's most likely different unit from the same line, and memory databanks are canonically wiped for these units every week). Would there be a way to incorporate a system for characters such as this? Perhaps 'whitelist' that particular character ID to allow namechanges without going through the loops? I don't know if I'm the only person who does this, or if anyone would ever make a character slot that does this kind of thing in the future, but it'd be something to consider.
  6. The thing is, realistically speaking, the only difference between a cyborg, android, and robot is the 'processor' behind it. A cyborg runs off a brain, an android runs off a positronic brain, and a robot is just a sophisticated computer without a 'brain' of either kind. Outside of seeing the internal parts or any potential labels, you wouldn't actually know what type of synthetic you were looking at.
  7. It's also useful for if, say, the APCs in the area are drained of power, or not charging and you don't want to drain the room of power.
  8. Maintenance Drone (937) states: Carpfucker 300 online
  9. Basically the title. With how slowly IPCs 'lose power', it wouldn't provide much different to balance/mechanics but would let IPC's 'eat' on the job instead of finding an APC.
  10. There's also an issue of legal stuff, and tax stuff when you start charging money for a service. Couple that with the fact this would be international (Alot of users, and I suspect the people maintaining the account for this, are not U.S. citizens). I'm not going to get into details, but it's /really/ not worth it.
  11. After reading over Loow's post, I think something that might help give people an idea of what your capabilities as a lore dev are would be to write up a pesudo-lore post about something to do with Tajara/Adhomai. Maybe a city, a specific important person, an event, something that you could or would add to canon Tajaran lore. There's also this you forgot to use as a reference point for your lore writing: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=6779
  12. Sooo yep. I've finally gotten around to actually getting this website fully setup in a way that's usable on the viewer's end. I currently have three sections setup - The 'front page' being for journals/updates/general whatever, as well as an art gallery where I'm posting up my colour work and anything else I work on art wise, and a writing section for character profiles, one-offs, writing projects, lore for my fictional worlds, etc. Link for those interested: https://sierrabrown.me/ There's also this character profile I put up this morning of one of my characters, Ziva Mo'Taki Ta'kim. Bit of an updated backstory, includes a portrait, and basic information in a table at the top. If anyone has any suggestions for improvement on the format of that post style, I'd be glad to hear it: https://sierrabrown.me/writing/ziva-motaki-takim-9
  13. Reporting Personnel: Miraj Zi'Ad Rank of Reporting Personnel: Emergency Medical Technician Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Keagan Highlands, Journalist: Offender (Skeletonkrew197) - Alice Knapp, Security Officer: Offender (ShameOnTurtles) - Adam Evans, Chief Medical Officer: Witness (K0NFL1QT) - Kelly Evans, Head of Security: Incident reported to (LordPwner) - Epsilon, Cyborg: Witness (XenosTiger) - R.E.M., AI: Witness (Shadow7889) Time of Incident: 9:00 AM Real time: 12:15 PM EST October 4th Location of Incident: Central Primary Hallway, maintenance door between custodial and medbay Nature of Incident: [X]Workplace Hazard [X]Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault []Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: There was a level 7 biohazard that hit mantenance between engineering and medbay. Miraj geared up in a void suit with inflatables and a bed and went with Epsilon to stand by near the area to treat any wounded. A long officer entered the tunnel with them, Alice Knapp, and fought the blob with a flashbang and lasers. When the laser ran out, Alice rushed the blob with a baton, alone. In the process broke several bones, punctured her suit, had internal bleeding, and other severe injuries. Miraj had to rush into the blob that was already surrounding Alice and pull her out, putting Herself at risk, and rush to get her to medbay, pushing past engineers and security officers that were just then starting to enter the tunnel. Adam Evans took over treatment of Alice once she was brought into medbay. Alice's void suit was also punctured during this. She does not know if it was repairable. Attached is a print out of the medical scan of Alice's full injuries. Later during the shift, while the tunnel was still breached and being repaired, Miraj came across Keagan trapped between bolted doors and a half-closed inflatable barrier that was just barely protecting him from a maintenance door that was open and leading into the breached tunnel. As Miraj approached and was about to close the barrier and begin making a path to get him out, he opened up his end of the barrier and got sucked into the maintenance tunnel. Miraj had to quickly close the opening She had just made to avoid being sucked in Herself, then rush back to get a void suit and get him out. He survived with heavy suffocation damage, but no critical injuries. Kelly Evans was informed of the incident, but Miraj does not know if it was actually handled. Miraj also wants to note that Keagan called Her a cat when overhearing Her telling Kelly Evans about him. Both of these incidents show a completel lack of regard for safety, or just not knowing proper safety procedures in general. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Kelly Evans, Head of Security (LordPwner) Actions taken: (Description of efforts made by the reporter, security, HoDs, and/or Internal affairs to resolve this incident and what you know from others following the chain of command to find a solution to this issue.) Additional notes: (If there are none simply leave it blank)
  14. Administrators have informed me the player of Courtney Fields was banned. As such, this incident report will be closed.
  15. I'm personally against that type of thing. In this type of community that tends to create an air of elitism.
  16. The way Patreon runs typically would imply some form of donation tiers, usually with some kind of benefit as incentive for the higher tiers; How exactly would that be set up?
  17. As per regulation, solitary confinement should only ever used in one of these three scenarios: 1.) The prisoner has attempted or succeeded in escaping from the communal brig/his cell 2.) The prisoner has attempted suicide (They also need to be monitored closely in this situation) 3.) The prisoner is a threat to any other prisoners in the communal brig The head of security taking prior occurrences into account is a grey area and I'd say it depends on /how/ he takes them into account. As per the regulation, repeated cases of vandlism should result in a demotion, not in solitary confinement or permanent brigging. I'd also personally say that repeat offenses should only apply to a single shift. Why? Because it is a head of staff's responsibility to report consistant issues with crewmembers to CCIA with an incident report, or at the very least, an in-round fax sent to CCIA while someone's online (And I'd personally tell them to file an incident report in most cases). The things to consider here aren't just the IC regulations, but also OOC. It's a real dick move for security to throw someone in solitary permanently just because they're breaking into vending machines, even if it's a 'repeat offense'.
  18. Oh really? Can an admin (or mod) post and confirm what you said? Why is leaving the shield on all shift powergaming? It would be something I would do in case there was nobody to turn the shield on when the inevitable meteor storm came.
