Right, as the AI, I'm going to say a few things here regarding the round. The only doors I bolted were my AI core, because I was ordered to by command staff. I specifically told security I would not bother making any attempts to hinder movements by bolting doors because you could teleport, so I wouldn't have bolted anything on you anyway. Yes, I did open doors to let security in to you /while you were in the captain's office and teleporter/ because you were in a high security area, stealing things, you had the captain's sidearm and spare ID. Because I late joined, I didn't know security had you at shoot with lethals on sight, and I had even specifically told them several times you appeared non hostile as I observed you running past crew without any incident many times. ' I uploaded laws to ensure she did nothing except what I explicitly told her to do, thus rendering her completely useless to everyone.' <-- This is a lie. Your original law, that lasted for nearly 45 minutes, stated this: 'Under no circumstances are you to speak, act, order, or modify anything. You are to remain completely silent and observe only. No radio, no communication attempts in any form.'. Even if you gave me an order with that law, I wouldn't be able to do anything. You /finally/ added another law saying I can communicate with you via PDA and to obey you after being spoken to by modmins. Crew transfer got called, and you immediately ordered me to make the engine explode. I OOCly told you to get an admins permission or I couldn't do it, you ignored that and /continued/ to demand I sabotage the engine. That's the point where I just wipe-core'd because the round was ending anyway. Whether you murdered me or not is relevant. You forcibly removed me from the round with that law. I technically shouldn't have even communicated with NT-A over binary with that law because of how it's worded, but fuck if I'm going to be 100% uselessly silent while I wait for the law issue to get sorted by you and the mods. I honestly would have just wipe-core'd then and there if not for NT-A. Also what makes you think I have a personal friendship with house_of_synth? I know him about as well as I know you, aside from the fact we're both staff in different areas.

Something to note as well, as it's a concern I brought up in discord when Lohikar asked staff about the lighting system. From his testing, the new system is apparently reducing lag related to performance instead of increasing it like I'd have thought it would. (Unconfirmed by my end, but I'll take his word for it).

Regarding Sanu'dra, something I've noticed in rounds is a disregard of self-preservation, and statements by him in person or over radio about how he'll just be cloned if he dies.

So I'm noticing a new pattern and I have to ask. When did we go from 'Dealing with the troublemakers' to 'Just removing the entire thing because of a couple troublemakers'?

This was likely brought up and discussed (And I recall it being brought up during the previous iteration of shells). I'm fairly certain if it was that easy to set up a double whitelist system, it would have been done already.

I've seen many issues with Xander's captains during rounds I'm observing, and in some cases rounds I play in. The main issue I've seen with him is micromanagement of just about everything. He completely bypasses his heads of staff, directly ordering the departments to perform specific tasks and getting directly involved in situations (Specifically, security situations which a captain should be keeping as far away from as possible because he's supposed to be the most valuable person on the station). His statement that he isn't obligated to serve the antags is also incredibly wrong. One of the primary OOC purposes of a head of staff is to help guide the round and roleplay, and you do this by working with an antag's gimmick, and allowing the heads of staff under you to actually do their jobs. I've seen many occasions where heads of staff just go right to cryo because they can't do anything with Xander overstepping them constantly.

actually it escalated because you threw the flashbang, I think the main point that you rushed things, when you could've just taken some more time to evaluate things. This pretty much nails the issue from what I understand. Instead of communicating or negotiating with someone who you thought had no weapons, you chose to throw a flashbang and try to do what we tend to call 'ramboing' and 'validhunting'. Just because you're not an antag, that doesn't mean you aren't held to the same standards as antags when it comes to furthering roleplay and not ruining people's rounds for the sake of 'winning' the engagement. If an antag stops and takes the time to actually say he has a hostage, that player wants to RP and communicate. When security takes that as the chance to attack without communicating back, you create an atmosphere of 'Well, security's going to rambo me anyway, I'm just going to attack them on sight'. Downward spiral happens from there.

True, but from a logical perspective cloning someone who went full postal in bar is really dumb. Perhaps, but then you get into the fun area of 'Well refusing to clone someone is condemning them to death. Thats an execution'. It also just isn't an IC thing. Security validing you because you're an antag, then demanding you be permanently removed (I.e., not cloned) afterwards is on par with an antag killing someone and throwing their body into space so they can't be cloned, It's a dick move.

Can something be setup where staff can flag a specific character to allow unrestricted name changes? I do still have that IPC slot for the Sydney line of IPCs, where there's thousands of models, each with a different numeric designation, alongside a greek letter indicating assigned department.
