  1. Thread closed due to the PR being merged.
  2. You should at least be able to deny orders filed by the head of security too without being afraid he will arrest you if you do not fill it. This actually happened.
  3. You should at least be able to reasonably deny orders without security arresting you for it.
  4. This action has my consent.
  5. The premise here is really vague. It is one more tool in staff's arsenal. Sometimes winding one person is all that is needed. Sometimes we need to ask an entire group stop fighting because one greytider tossed a grenade. -1
  6. This sounds like more of a you problem. I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say with your second post. I notice its again something from four years ago though....
  7. I am going to -1 this. This idea that the evil staff members are waiting to bwoink you over their own personal interpretation of how a LI works is just patently false. It is a very unreasonable argument to make. The wiki states that the LI interferes with your judgement skills to suit the corporation's needs. It is intuitive to deduce from this a number of things such as following station directives, space law and the chain of command. No this does not account for every niche situation. There is no single comprehensive list of acceptable behavior for any role in this game. We assume the player is acting in good faith and go from there. By the letter of the law on our wiki it is possible to justify doing both. One could argue the LI effectively makes you immune to torture or coercion and roll with it that way. One could also say that the stress of having a bomb in your head is enough to temporarily override the LI and allow you to give in to the demands. This is actually a good thing and gives agency to the player to decide how they want to RP out a given situation. This is an issue only if you think we are waiting to bwoink people and strip whitelists. What i did or did not see a problem with four years ago is absolutely irrelevant. Reasonable people change their minds when presented with new information. I changed my mind on topic. Internally we pretty much never argue or have issues with it. It just doesn't happen.
  8. That is purely anecdotal. Its not really a fair criticism. Every time it is used does not have to be this big and dramatic moment. Its entirely possible that the good times it is used nobody notices. If someone kills your husband you could have justification to kill them even if you're a captain. I think that being possible in theory is healthy for the game. It exists as a possibility on paper. I am afraid i do not understand how it is bad when you've never personally used it. I am empathetic on fear of the dreaded bwoink but in reality this just is not true. Its very rare for people to lose their whitelists. You can always ahelp and ask for guidance on specific situations but as long as you're acting in good faith i think the fear is misplaced.
  9. This is already covered by our loyalty implant lore. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Nanotrasen_Corporation This does not "bring loyalty implants into question". It is designed as an out for players to have some measure of creativity in extreme situations.
  10. Goret does what i tell him to.
  11. Someone should put a stop to this.
  12. No reason not to add this.
  13. Yes True which is why you're allowed to shoot them if they start breaking things. This gives the drone some ability to fight back or escape. Its incredibly frustrating to be killed out of no where from a magic button someone hit. It is healthier for the game to attack the problem with less frustrating balance solutions. They do not roleplay in ways you enjoy. That is fine but i do not think its a good reason to want them gone. What an emagged drone does is what most other things do. They present the station with a specific situation and then the station has to figure out a way to combat the situation. In this case its an emagged drone tearing up medical's floorboards, eating all of security's wires or other nefarious projects. All of this is roleplay.
  14. Didn't duke purple tea have an effect similar to this that we removed?
  15. Works for me
  16. I do not really see anything wrong with trick's comments in your original ahelp. He did a number of things 1. He explained that a particular comment about "baldie throwers 2. Explained he will keep an eye on it and deal with it if its a recurring issue. 3. Deemed the specific berko comments an IC issue I mean read and trick are correct when they say they do not need to provide you context. If we tell you something is an IC issue thats it. I see you checked timestamps to say how he couldnt have had time to investigate? What i imagine he did was jump over to berko and scroll up a bit in the chat log. This would have taken like 20 seconds.
  17. Its really hard to figure out what you're making this about.... I see at one point you highlighted in red that you wanted another staff member to look it over? That is not something that has to be addressed by read nor is it something that needs to happen whenever you ask.
  18. So, this is just a complaint against RTNP?
  19. Spoke with alberyk about this. A jobban was probably too much and that of course is probably more my fault than drwagos. We still think this was really lame so i will just reduce it to a warning and chalk it up to time spent.
  20. Emagged drones are insanely fun and also insanely OP. It relies on a lot of factors to happen though but lately people have been catching on to it. We probably just need to make them less durable and easier to hit with ranged weapons.
  21. No we do not need to add a magic gank button. If there are issues with the emagged drone we can nerf it appropriately.
  22. The staff of change is good RP. It allows you to assume a new form and you even get to RP how you want in that form. You can still retain your old character's personality or have the personality of a horrible monster. Whats not to love? Changes like this are the kind of liberal darkness we do not need. -1
  23. Well i am sorry but i think that was pretty lame and that the ban set by drago is valid.
