  1. My plan was two-fold. The first part of the plan involved breaking into telecomms and RP stealing a "black box". I did not actually intend to disable communications for the station as that is lame. What i intended was to RP stealing an imaginary "black box" that most installations have. It is a device that records all communication. It would be something that could be used as evidence to track me down. Unfortunately breaking into telecomms proved too much for me to handle and I abandoned the plan after getting to the glass walkway. The second phase of my plan was to make my way to the bridge, steal the all access card and then drain all of the funds from the station accounts to utilize as blackmail for the station to turn over their research data. Imaginary research data would have sufficed if they didn't have a scientist to get the levels up. Unfortunately this plan also failed because the second I walked into the Hop office the CMO spotted me. Before the CMO could even start typing the HoP walked into his office from the opposite door with his gun out. My earlier post in this thread details what happened from there.
  2. I am just coming in to say that this is true. Marlon did approach me about the "meta-discord" and hate he received. If I am to take action against any member of this community I need proof or some way I can investigate. On the server I have logs and data I can go through. Outside of trojan horsing my way into a meta-discord there was not much I could do. I do not doubt that it existed, there has been one about me in the past. I suppose the position of head admin shields me from the brunt of a lot of vitriol that can come from them. I will say that depending on the content of a discord dedicated to hating on a member or members of our community I absolutely would take action against the members. Up to and including permanent bans. It seems to me the issues in the past with Marlon's leadership of the lore team do not necessarily speak to his ability as a lore deputy. I have never been very close with the lore team so I cannot speak to any issues Marlon had as loremaster. The only time I ever directly worked with Marlon when he was loremaster was when he helped me developed the lore and criteria for captains triggering the nuclear explosion. I would say it was a pleasant experience but I was head admin at the time.
  3. This is the truest post I have ever seen. Anyone who has ever played DnD intuitively understands cooperative storytelling. You are NOT in charge of what happens to your character. It is just so exhausting seeing the ahelps come in when someone gets killed.
  4. So, i was not aware the AI whitelist team had a policy of removing whitelists over any ban. I am really sorry for misleading you but at the time i could only tell you my opinion. I do still think a 24 hour ban was the right call here as the actions you took where pretty silly.
  5. Locking and archiving.
  6. Well, either way it does not matter as far as my post is concerned. There is one issue in contention here and only one issue. Whether or not I had the justification to kill you. This is a screenshot detailing our brief encounter in the HoP office. I came here to try to hack into the accounts and siphon some funds away. Unfortunately the CMO happened to be outside and spotted me. Then you came in and drew a gun. I noticed you where the HoP so i attempted and succeeded in taking you hostage to get account info from you. I was very clear with the CMO as you can see that aiding sec would lead me to kill you. I think it logically follows that "Stand against me at all" will also get you killed. While trying to get information out of you the CMO made this announcement. My character believed that if she was willing to tell the crew about me in anyway she had already told sec about me. Whether or not she actually did or not is irrelevant. I cannot metagame. Shortly after killing you i alerted the CMO and the rest of the crew to your body's location with an announcement. If the CMO had not made this announcement i would not have killed you because i would have had no reason to. "Fresh spawn" is only ever invoked when people are attacked just off the transfer shuttle or just waking up from cryo. You had made it to your office and drew a gun on an intruder. All of that is fine to do but there is no rule stating how long someone has to be in round before they can be kidnapped. TLDR. I had a reason to kill you and these screenshots prove it.
  7. Why is this a staff complaint?
  8. So, I am going to expunge this warning and I will explain why. 1. Security was not capable of protecting Faye They could not access their armory and had only a few spare disruptors. 2. The antagonist was very clear in his attempt to kidnap and ransom her. This establishes the extreme risk posed to Faye by the antagonist. 3. The antagonist utilized non-lethals with his carbine Stun beams hurt like hell and rushing down the hallway to beat down a nukeop with your bat is gonna get you a swift bwoink. However we can at least conclude Faye was not being hunted to be killed. When we combine what we know of all three of these points we understand that security cannot stop the antag, the antag will continue hunting for Faye and that the antag intends to capture her with stun beams. Therefore it seems to me she chose to defend herself with a hypospray that she knows will bypass the antagonists armor and quickly knock them out. While i do not doubt that Faye was motivated by her frustration at the gimmick and that perhaps the Antag was not driving as well of a story as he could of both of these things are actually not relevant to the situation. It makes sense you assumed it was because it sounds like @faye admitted to it in the ticket. The first issue at hand here is whether or not Faye had a good reason to defend herself. The answer to that is yes. The second issue is whether or not we ALWAYS expect non-security to retreat from combat situations. The answer to that is no. There are numerous situations where we allow players to engage in combat situations. A medical doctor running into crossfire to save a wounded individual might feel compelled out of duty, an engineer might coordinate with security personnel to destroy a hive beacon and even the janitor might grab a bat to destroy some viscerators attacking medical.
  9. @SadKermit Assuming all of this is true it sounds like @Faye <3 took nearly every precaution imaginable before she hyposprayed the antag. It certainly does not sound like she was hunting through the halls looking to 360noscope with her hypospray. Can you walk me through your thought process here? When CAN a player utilize a hypospray of knockout juice if not in a situation like this?
  10. No, i do not have anything else to add. I will close the complaint now. Locking and archiving.
  11. Alright i will just go point by point with my thoughts. Any rule violations committed by bayonet hand would ultimately be Alberyk's responsibility. I have noticed a pattern within OPs perspective on this issue and various others perspective. I will highlight a relevant section of the OP. "My first full interaction with Bayonet Hand in the entirety of the arc resulted in me, at most, being given a one liner before having potentially lethal injuries inflicted Approximately 10-15 minutes after I receive medical treatment I met Bayonet Hand again in the pitch black, main casino hall and only be given a xenophobic one liner before having a lethal injury inflicted." I personally was not present for much of the arc but based on feedback from alb in this thread and other players i can reach a few conclusions. 1. A serial killer was the focus of this arc 2. The serial killer and the arc as a whole played out over a series of multiple rounds and violence that slowly escalated With these two things in mind it becomes really difficult for me to entertain the claim one might have that "I was attacked with one line of dialogue" or "I was suddenly killed with no RP". From my perspective we are not dealing with an antagonist who waited around for an hour before finally trying to kill the chef out of boredom. We are instead dealing with a large meta-narrative spanning multiple rounds. The serial killer as I understand it was not a surprise to anyone. He did not just show up one minute and begin murdering players without a trace of his presence in lore, articles or previous rounds. There does seem to be a generous amount of buildup and escalation. Violence for no reason is generally frowned upon. Our rules even indicate that there should be a good reason for an antagonist to kill people. Gimmicks and strategies related to violence or ones with the explicit goal of violence or killing people are not disallowed by our rules. As long as their is appropriate escalation a single antagonist could theoretically kill everyone on station. With this in mind there is nothing wrong with creating an event with the intention of eventually becoming violent. I think the idea of it becoming "combat versus rp" is a false dichotomy. The combat and violence happened organically from things that happened in the round. Symbols and graffiti of the killer began appearing, spooky things happened, casino employees went missing/where killed. Even someone like me who did not play during the rounds can chart a pretty clear pattern of escalation. The murders at the end told a story. In summary i reject this notion that we can focus on the thirty second interaction a particular individual had right before the killer slashed them up and claim it "lacked RP" or was gank in anyway. It was what the entire event was building up to. I am going to move on to point # 2 now. This really just seems like a joke. I have not been shown evidence of alberyk breaking the rules when he killed someone. An administrator only room did indeed exist for alberyk to teleport his antag to. I have received testimony from both players and staff that he did not do this when he was being chased. Only after he had disengaged and fled from a fight. It is also true that Alberyk aghosted multiple times during the round. Alberyk used this tool because he was running the event and coordinating with other people/spawning stuff in for them. Spawning things in does require him to jump out of his body and ghost over to the player who needs something. I do not know what specifically he needed to spawn in but as there where a lot of items/code and custom things created for this event i assume alberyk was most knowledgeable on these things and elected to do a lot of it himself. It is absolutely possible he used information he gained while ghosted to target and kill certain players. As staff we at all times have access to meta-info even if we try to avoid it. Ahelps come in, attack logs get shown and antagonist names are highlighted in yellow when they do. I trust everyone on my team not to abuse this information until i am given evidence to the contrary. You have shown that alberyk certainly COULD have abused meta-info but you have not shown me that he did. I can understand this sentiment. It seems reasonable to me to suspect the role of someone involved in the discussion to allow someone to be cloned or not is also the person who killed your character. I think i probably should have asked Alberyk to recuse himself from the discussion on those grounds. Although to my knowledge ever since we have implemented the rule our individual stances on "can this character be cloned" has been a firm NO. We are pretty united on this issue. I am personally not familiar with anyone that has been allowed to be cloned under the ruling. One or two people may have been cloned if they died completely unrelated from a canon event happening.
  12. After an initial read of this entire thread i have compiled a list of what seems to be the main points directed against Alberyk and their supporting evidence. 1. Alberyk designed the event to murder characters and in the process broke the rules that antagonists must follow. A. Alberyk was the antagonist. B. Testimony from over >6 players imply they where ganked/ their deaths or attempted deaths involved little RP. C. The event was designed to "Further combat over RP". Multiple teams with weapons, a serial killer with powerful weapons and traps, a medical bay to heal injured people....etc etc. 2. Alberyk engaged in metagrudge of certain characters. He intentionally targetted them to kill their characters. A. Alberyk expressed in deadchat that he "wanted to murder more people". B. Alberyk while playing as the antagonist utilized an "Admin only area" That could only be reached by the use of administrator teleportation. C. Alberyk aghosted regularly during the event. This would allow him to gain information on metagrudge targets that bayonet hand would not know otherwise. D. Alberyk was involved in the discussion on whether or not to allow characters to be cloned. The rule states that it is permissable only if head staff and loremasters allow it. This is a conflict of interest. E. Alberyk carried with him an EMP grenade that was conveniently very effective against a single player in a mob. As @Ickysoup is the OP of the this thread I need you to tell me if this list is comprehensive or if I am missing anything. I have combined the point of "The event was designed to murder" with "Alberyk ganked people" together because I believe them to be intertwined. Criticisms of the event as a whole will be explored only so far as they are relevant to the stated point.
  13. Reading through all of this is going to take some time and i going to need to go point by point. Please limit posts to relevant evidence/rebuttals of points. The less we do this the harder my job is here.
  14. Interview with OP https://pastebin.com/FxaYru06 Pretty easy +1 from me. Bonus points for being in a timezone we have inconsistent coverage on.
  15. Application accepted
  16. Why dont we ask @Mofo1995 and @Caelphon to settle this matter. I have absolutely no idea how a simple question is able to generate such a trainwreck of a thread.
  17. Its really demeaning to rooster and his project to imply it cannot survive unless a single spriter keeps doing work. Ryver was also applying for skrell dev at the time of being accepted onto rooster's project. In his own words he was unsure if he would be accepted. Thus, when he was accepted his workload changed. Rooster claims @RyverStyx did not communicate this upon being accepted so rooster assumed they would be able to finish the project. All ryver is guilty of here is a lack of communication and from the screenshots posted here its very clear to me the entire project had a lack of communication to it. We are several orders of magnitude from what multiple people in this thread are trying to imply that ryver attempted to extort money from a free project. Volunteer projects by their nature are composite objects. If i had to guess Ryver joined "to contribute" and rooster accepted him "To finish it". A mismatch of expectations like this happens all of the time in this game and the issue is once again just a lack of communication. Fair criticism to levy but again not even close to trying to extort money. You guys need to chill.
  18. You are part of the problem if you cryo when the antag does something you do not like.

While I rarely cryo if I join a round, I'd rather see people cryo than force themselves to sit through it and either AFK or play spitefully. The latter cause far more problems than cryoing ever would.

Role play is fundamentally a grand game of improv. The golden rule of improv is to say "yes". Thus, individual actors are continuously able to play off one another. Cryoing because the antags show up and do something you do not like is saying NO.

  19. I have an issue with a lot of criticism on this thread. You're all entitled to your opinion but I do not think its fair to -1 this app because he asked for money. As it seems to be written here Ryver did some amount of work for a particular project. Then asked for payment to do any additional work. He did not attempt to charge for work he already had done. I think if you have are being even the slightest bit charitable to ryverstyx you will find a number of reasons he would do this that are completely reasonable such as... Ryverstyx underestimating the work required for the project Ryverstyx gaining new constraints on his time thus putting the free time he does have at a premium I do not think There is anything wrong with asking for payment for further contribution. Agreements between parties get re-negotiated all the time for perfectly legitimate reasons. I think the sprite work you have done looks good and i can easily +1 this app.
  20. Alberyk and I have discussed this issue at length and reviewed all of the evidence presented. Danse will be receiving a warning for his conduct. While you did not harass any lore developers directly you where overtly mean spirited in your views on diona. It can be emotionally draining to see mean spirited comments about your work as a lore dev repeated on our platforms. While we are not directly taking action against you for attempting to delete evidence it is something we must explicitly discourage. It is really not a good look. Just relax a bit.
  21. By skull Good luck in life. You taught me a lot.
  22. Really impressive work here. I can easily tell just from the screenshots what the areas are. This gets a snail of approval.
  23. What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.
