Fair. Ish. However also consider that we have the power to control just how much time is required to play on our server properly. This mechanic is one such control device. Which leads into this discussion becoming one of how much time do we want the average player to be able to dedicate to Aurora, in order to be a part of an enjoyable experience. I personally find the 2 1/2 hour mark, and 3 hour mark are golden. Any more than that and you'll find late joiners not joining, and you'll have waves of people going into cryo. I always login right after I get off work (Usually 6:30 PM or 9:30 PM my time) and if a round is 1+ hour into it I sigh and just close the client and depending on if I find something else to do, I'll check back every hour or so. I have a window of time allotted everyday to play games and unwind, unfortunately late joining in Aurora is not as flexible as it once was; at least for certain departments. Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems others agree with me as well.

Easy to say when you don't have commitments outside of Aurora. If you wish to viciously attack everybody who speaks against your opinion - With the exact same reasoning every time. This is supposed to be a discussion, not a place to attack other peoples for their opinion. Me and a lot of people happen to login and see that a rounds been going on for 1 maybe 2 hours. So we don't join because unfortunately, it's hard to join RP mid round. Now we have four options: Join and not enjoy ourselves. Leave and try our luck an hour later. Vote for a CT. Chill out in Ghost for an hour - Which unfortunately with nothing to keep ghosts engaged is not fun having to wait an hour, two, sometimes three. I've given myself a window after work (that shifts due to shifts) - And asking me to waste 2 hours of my very short window waiting for a new round is not fair to me, nor is it fair to anyone else who comes here to unwind. Let me follow this up as well: "The game centers around the people who were actually playing the game to begin with." This quote simply is not true. This game is centered around the NSS Aurora/Exodus - And the staff on board, doesn't matter if you're present right this very second, or if you'll be present in the next shift, your character develops while you're not around, so yes if I'm not able to actually join a round because of various reasoning's I as a player with developed characters in the server expect to have a say in CTs - And if ones called, and as a ghost I don't see any meaningful RP I'm going to vote for it so I can actually join a round and enjoy myself. I've never called a CT before; and the reasoning? I can't determine if a rounds getting stale or if it's just my experience, unfortunately CCIA don't have aghost so I can't be everywhere during a round to see if meaningful RP is still going on.

Just make cloning easily accessible by science staff so that they can be there to assist with cloning should medical be swamped.

30 minutes is hardly enough time for the round to get established, most antags don't even fully start kicking off until the first hour mark. Most departmental work will only even be to its basic level at this point so job wise there should still be plenty. Worst case if the round is too far in for someone, there's a game_status channel for a reason. It'll notify you on round restarts so long as you're subscribed. You don't have to sit in as a ghost the entire time waiting which is something it seems like people are forgetting. I find the pecking order of each department is determined within the first hour. After that late arrivals are not treated the same as if they started with the round.

I can understand why people are voting for a crew transfer after dying or late joining. Personally if I see a rounds been going on for more than 30 minutes, and the Captains role is filled I see no reason for me to latejoin. It's hard to join in RP once the rounds already been established, and having to wait upwards to two hours for a new round makes me not want to join the next round because I'm not gonna sit there for the next two hours unless I'm actively being engaged as CCIA. Mind you I've never called an actual CT, but this is just my opinion on the matter.

This is actually hype.

Your application should revolve around an entire new character, with an entire new theme to showcase that you understand everything being a head our entail. - Cause it not only unlocks being an RD, but it also unlocks being a captain, the Head of Security. If you want Edgar to be promoted, do so after you pass your whitelist application.

Policy change! You will be able to request the nuke code!
Dreviore replied to Garnascus's topic in General Announcements
Yes. That's all I can really say on the manner, I like it and support it. Can we make it so the code is applied to the captains round-start/round-join notes? -
Just do your thing, and ignore what others think about you. Also don't whine too much, cause that's an easy way to get the people who actually like interacting with you; to stop.

I do it to save someone from popped lungs. Which ironically happens all the time. Your O2 tank runs out of oxygen for half a second? Popped lung. You accidentally find yourself walking into a depressurized room, and you wind up winded on the ground for 5 seconds? Popped lung.

I'll tell you this right now. If any of my characters noticed a drunk drowning themselves (minus one), and they were in a position to do so that shift, you would not be able to return to work. My IPC would take your ID, and inform you that you're not of sound mind to continue work, and that ID would end up with a head. My Captain would put you on temporary leave for the round. I think the biggest issue there's no real places to place a cut off employee besides bed, or a table... IN THE BAR.

Any chance on updated pictures considering we've been told the map is 'mostly complete' just waiting on z-level code fixes.

Internal Affairs Office #314 - SA Zion Thrusk
Dreviore replied to Azande's topic in NanoTrasen Public Network
You know. Attacking staff is not going to get your ideas approved by our team, and the admins. My biggest issue is that it'll prolong our sometimes difficult to schedule IR's as is by adding more complex steps to it. IAA is not meant to be a substitute to the CCIA. And having your job roll over to other rounds is not something we support, your job starts, and ends at the end of your shift - What doesn't stop is your characters personality, and character development. Let me explain it this way: Lets say UristMcAurora breaks company regulations, and spends the entire round being hunted down by security. UristMcAurora was not an antagonist, but had proper build up to his actions. Security would not pursue him in another shift, and here's why: 1. If he broke regulations, and an IR was opened against him, in theory he would not be present on the next shift. 2. Everyone starts off on a blank slate. 3. You have no way to confirm if they were an antag that round, and that's where CCIA, and admins come in. -
Well we don't ever have synth station going on.

I'd like to think over the span of 400+ years we would have developed universal languages, sure it may not seem incredibly realistic to merge these particular languages, but its a very minor thing. Now, I'm not either for, or against the idea of revamping them, I'll leave that for the Lore team; just know if you want a fluid, and believable dystopian future you might wish to at least acknowledge this thread, and utilize it.

Make cameras glow when in use from security monitor or AI
Dreviore replied to JKJudgeX's topic in Discontinued Projects
Apparently that's TG code. We could port that. Also, why not make camera jammers another item? They're far more obvious than the multitool notice thingy. "Hey, why's there a mountain of static moving around in my camera view...?" What's great about that idea is that a lot of AI players lately wouldn't even announce something like that unless directly asked. -
[RESOLVED] Complaint against HunterRS
Dreviore replied to ClearThoughts's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
But if you read the pictures Hunter was targetted as part of a trolling attempt where Hunter really didn't re-engage with similar action. This whole thread is literally them complaining about him calling for Crew Transfers, then Hunter being attacked by another member of our community. -
You know. If you took the time to read my post, you'd have seen that I was in support of unbanning you. But hey, you're letting your big head assume the absolute worst. And why should it matter that I'm CCIA and have an opinion about a player on our server? End of the day it's my personal choice, and I've never once touched anything involving you, or your characters where a bias might have negatively affected you.

You know what. Let me add a bit here. Around 6-8 months ago, whenever I saw Manfred Hayden? I'd pray that I don't need engineering at ANY point and time. You made dealing with Engineering to be like pulling out teeth, with your snarky comments, or your unorthodox way of handling situations just made me feel like that section of the server would be unfun. Now, let me add something. My encounters with him the past few days have been brief because I still hold a grudge against him as not only a character, but a player - I can say for the most part (Besides when I saw him build his way into virology when he got sick, and wound up just about venting the place) - I can't say I don't avoid engineering as much, but I can't really complain about my recent interactions.
