@ParadoxSpaceIs there something else that you would like me to address that was not covered in my previous post?
-
I want to address you coming after me, or making snide comments about myself or the quality of my Pull Requests (especially when I am not even present), Well, you have a track record of pull requests that are broken and not sufficiently tested for example: (I am sure that there are others that I am forgetting here) Bar signs Zorane Soda Disables ERT on Revolution You were repeatedly told to test your pull requests properly and check for both functionality, error cases and unwanted side effects, yet you still produce pull requests with issues that would have been revealed during the simplest of tests (For the bar signs PR that would have been activating the bar signs; For the Rev PR that would have been starting a rev round). This is pretty much the most harmless comment that I could make on that matter. There are things which are soo much worse that I could have said regarding your inability to test PRs after being told to do so repeatedly and this was probaply the most harmless thing that I could have said about it. The post I made about "paradox being paradox" has been addressed here: It is not my fault that you choose to name yourself paradox. If you named yourself john I would have written "its just john being john". And again, this was probably the softest way that I could address geeves question about the test merge which you described as being "nothing". I could have explained to them, that you have a proven track record of being unable to read code and therefore do not understand what this PR does, and that it is indeed quite complicated and therefore needs to be testmerged. (And we actually found two issues during the test merge one of which is a major issue which prevented the system from being used.) I choose not to say that but instead "sugarcoat" it. Regarding the "usual paradox brainfart" and "as well as even playfully dismissing peoples' opinions on things you have added" According to the oxford dictionary of english a brain fart is "A temporary mental lapse or failure to reason correctly." https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/brain_fart I believe that expressions such as these (which are stitched together from various statements during the conversation) can be described as a failure to reason correctly: This is also what I considered "valuable" opinions as most of these things do not argue about the topic objectively. Therefore I do not consider them "valuable". The "usual" before the brain fart is because you often refer to such arguments in various discussions. Is there something else that you would like me to address?

@ParadoxSpace What exactly is it that you would like me to address?
-
Thank you for showing how stupid this whole complaint about $people, ""people"" and $opinions is. It just comes down to what the person on the other end wants to interpret into it.
-
I did not insult them with that. I just made a comment that it is usual for them to do this. (Complain about things that they do not fully understand) A insult would look quite different.
-
Well, that was because as usual you did not read the PR or did not know what a mechanic does before commenting about it. "Basically nothing" in this case means a entire new subsystem that loads lore relevant notes from the database or a json file depending on the configuration and then places those notes in predetermined locations or computers based on tags associated with those notes. So very far from "basically nothing"

Thank you for posting this thing completely out of context. Did you contact any of the other admins or headmins/devs present at the time about this conduct and why not? I only have a limited patience, as everyone, and and if certain people come up with the same ridiculous ideas over and over again after they (again) screwed up a PR by not properly testing it as they were told to do last time (and the times before), this patience will run out eventually. Which is what happened here.

Staff Complaint - Drago / Alberyk
Arrow768 replied to TheSleepyCatmom's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Well, since I have been mentioned here I´ll just post the relevant parts of the conversation here. @Alberyk / @Garnascus please correct me if I am wrong here. -
Some of you already saw that PR and commented on it: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/6670 The PR prevents ghosts from teleporting to the derelict "area" or moving around freely on the derelict. It still allows ghosts to follow players on the derelict while giving ghosts the default vision of human mobs. This will encourage the IC exploration of the derelicts and will serve to retain the surprise factor when explaining them, as you can not be sure what exactly to expect unless you were there and saw it. It will also allow us to setup secret content on the away missions, that is usually not available and has to be found via IC means.

It would be possible to implement. But not worth the effort. Tickets are only one part of ahelps. Peryisting tickets alone would not allow a helps to be handled across rounds. Voting for dismissal.
-
Gotta vote for dismissal here. Pretty much everything the wizard can do is somewhat out of the ordinary. Summoning guns therefore doesnt really fit in with the other abilities. Since after all its just a gun.
-
Well, since the change is pretty simple. Here is a PR that forces it automatically if its held too long: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/6650

A few things that I dont like about that suggestion: Why would a i300 charge automatically revoke all the privileges? - If they are behaving themselves, why would you revoke the privacy / visitation or communication privilege. I do not like the inclusion of the HoP, as this will validate HoPcurity, which is something that we luckily got rid off. I do not like the inclusion of CCIA in the appeal chain as the captain should be the highest authority on the station and appealing to CCIA will take too much time and make borgifications pretty much impossible if CCIA does not respond (which happens relatively often) The maximum charge a single person can issue is HuT, which will get reviewed at central anyway. For a borgification, there already needs to be a majority vote. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to appeal your sentence to the warden. The warden, as the overseer of the brig should be the first person to go to (as they are the most available) Worst case nothing is going to come out of it, but then you can still appeal it to the HoS and the Captain I would therefore propose a simplification: If a prisoner wishes to report mistreatment or appeal their sentence, they can contact the following persons in order: Warden, HoS, IA (who then makes a recommendation to the captain)

MattAtlas' Developer Application (Coder)
Arrow768 replied to MattAtlas's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Well, trial projects are a thing, but there is still the requirement to be a somewhat active contributor before getting a trial. The problem is that you only have 3 recent PRs which I would not consider sufficient for a trial. Therefore I encourage you to create a few more PRs over the coming months and then reapply, or alternatively keep the application open until then. -
Well, I am not a huge fan of those changes, for similar reasons as stated by Ben: It will make it easier to peeps that get cornered by antags to put up a fight, which will escalate the situation and again make it much more difficult for them to actually do their objectives. Even if a knife does less damage, it has the potential to cause bleeding, which will require medical supplies to be carried. It will validate people that "prepare" for antags. Hostile encounters are rare in our canon lore and even if we would permit the use of self defence items, such items would not help against a hostile invasion. I also would not support reverting the contraband list to a fixed list of items that is not permitted. We had that a while ago, and it didn't work out, because there are always item that are overseen/recently added and then you have the clear case where something is contraband, but you cant charge for it because its not on "the list".

[+2 dismissal] Remove antag opt-out

Moving to rejected policy as there have been two votes for dismissal and the archival period has been reached. -
1 dismissal - Allow us to see our own notes
Arrow768 replied to TheOrleans's topic in Rejected Policy
As explained by others. If you want to see your notes, you can contract a Administrator about it. They will review them and send those to you that can be sent to you. As notes are also used to track internal comments about players (i.e. things to watch out for. things that we suspect (meta-communication / meta-buddies) and so on) we can not allow full access to the notes for players. While it might technically be possible to allow unsupervised access to that, by adding a system to ask for a classification on notes, such a system would be complex to implement and not worth the effort to implement as past notes might have to be reclassified and the effort to look those up manually when requested is much less compared to the effort needed to implement such a system. Therefore voting for dismissal -
Staff Complaint - Senpai Jackboot

The guidelines are currently being written A project management system has been setup for the Loremaster and the Deputy. Additional channels in the discord have been setup, to allow Lore to better coordinate with each other. The complaint will be locked and archived in 24h -
Have return to lobby as default job selection option
Arrow768 replied to Pratepresidenten's topic in Completed Projects
Well, fully randomized chars arnt really possible anymore since you cant rename your char after a certain amount of days, so you would have to create a new char anyway if you want to play a random char every round. -
Gotta agree with shev. The current version of the sprite is really nice.
-
We recently changed our discord icon. Some of you have voiced that they are not happy with the new discord icon (which is our lobby screen icon from the exodus) Therefore I encourage you to create and post alternatives. Once we have a few of them together we´ll do a poll and see which one is the best. Do not post if you do not have something to contribute. Requirements for the icon/logo: Currently we do not have a server image/logo, that could be used as the base for the discord icon Therefore we´ll extend this to also look for a logo that can be used for other places aswell (such as the forums, the wiki, ...) The logo/icon should be to uniquely identify Aurora Station. Pretty much everything goes there. (The words "Aurora" or any other acronym is not required to be present in the logo) You are also free to submit multiple different colour variants of the same icon/logo. The only requirement we have is that there needs to be a serious attempt at creating a icon/logo.

Well, I have to correct you here. Bounties were added much later than the rest of cargo and are currently not based on the payment-scheme we applied to cargo items. They also wouldnt really fit in there, because a bounty is placed for a item that is currently in high demand for whatever reason. -> And items that are in high demand usually have a higher price.
