  1. One issue I have noticed: There are not enough chairs for all the heads of staff at the shuttle cockpit
  2. The biggest difference between emaging drones as a traitor and hacking them as a AI is that the emag has a certain number of charges. There would need to be a few changes to make that not a complete nightmare: A specific fabricator needs to be hacked by the AI (i.e. not individual drones) To join as a hacked drone, you need to be dead for the normal respawn time. The drone fabricators will have a limited number of resources. (Obviously they cant be refilled by the drones or the borgs) The removal of the plasmacutter from the hacked drones. (They already have enough options to cause chaos, they dont need a ranged weapon aswell; Not even the hacked engieborgs have that) These changes will result in a limited number of hacked drones being available and also prevent a issue where you have to deal with a single drone that comes back every 5 minutes.
  3. has just been merged. Moving to completed
  4. Yes, that is indeed an issue. But afaik assault shotguns were only meant as a temporary item so they will eventually be removed again. You dont solve that problem by removing firing pins, but by increasing the reliability of these weapons. Because a Officer will always choose the weapon that works over the one that might work or might not work. Because Science can provide you with other things that cargo can not: Force Gloves, various hand-to-hand weapons, bags of holding, various grenades, ... firing pins have been merged 7 days before the Modular weapons have been merged. And cargo can not print force gloves, energy glaives, shields or plasma cutters In the upcoming update we are going to add firing pins that require a certain access level. I could see these being added to the protolathe since then you dont have to rely on cargo, you can steal someones ID card who has access or get that access via other means
  5. You always have the option to join as assistant and ask the head of staff of the department to assign you to a training position. Most of them will do that as long as the round is not too hectic
  6. That is where cargo comes in. Certain things might not be build-able on station, but need to be shipped in from the outside. Firing pins are such a thing
  7. You can already order firing pins from cargo. Yes, that requires money. And yes, that requires cooperation from cargo. So go out and recruit people for your cause. Pool the money together then place a order and get cargo to ship it to the station when you are ready to go loud. You can get assault shotguns this way. Rev is a cooperative gamemode. Work with other people to achieve your goals. Again, replacements can be ordered from cargo. There is a departmental account that is filled with money that can be used to order firing pins.
  8. Has just been merged. Moving to completed projects
  9. As some of you might have noticed, we currently have a server poll going to get a idea for the opinions regarding the revolver. (Since I screwed up the poll options and forgot the "keep the revolver" option, I have reset the votes so you can vote again if you want to)
  10. There is now a server poll active where you can vote for or against this suggestion. Until that poll has been completed other Suggestions/PRs that deal with the same issue are on hold. (Burgers PR was there first so we will talk about that first.) The results of the poll can be viewed here: https://byond.aurorastation.org/server/poll/3 As the Wi is a bit out of date, the link mentioned in the title is not shown in the WI; So here it is: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1U75T6ytSt2orHpkIKJmY2wPZ61cfpKNY3piJJ8_9-gs/edit?usp=sharing Take a day to cool off and keep the discussion civilized. Should this get out of hand again we will have to start deleting posts again and warning people. I go through the posts and start deleting those that are offensive and contributing little/nothing to the topic at hand. If one of your posts with content has been deleted, you are encouraged to post again in a calmn and civilized manner.
  11. Moved it to policy. I am not a huge fan of it, as this is very abuseable.
  12. PR is up: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/4659
  13. We already have the ability to make a large number of improvised weapons. I also do not like the idea of a "civilian workshop", keep in mind that you are employed by the company to do a specific job. Why would they provide every employee on the station a place to fiddle around with things during their work hours if there already exists a engineering department on the station which is should be more qualified. Therefore voting for dismissal
  14. Hm, the main issue I see are the time abilities. While "locally stop time" might work by just freezing the players in the effect range in place. But I dont see how saving a point in the game and restoring that point would be possible.
  15. Yes, you need to remove them from a command headset, but all the heads of staff have a spare headset in their locker An alternative would be to make them shipable via cargo.
  16. I am not a huge fan of it since it would add a bridge assistant role via the backdoor. In case command wants to have a bridge-assistant borg with access to command coms, that can already be done icly by just installing a radio key in that borg.
  17. I do not see advantages of changing loyalty implants to mind shield implants. As explained by K0nfl1qt, you cant really explain the mindshield implants if you dont acknowledge supernatural powers. Which would give the Captain and the HoS a free pass to valid them as they have to know that these powers exist otherwise they would not accept the implant.
  18. As i said in the topic about reverting combat borgs. Get me some sprites and I´ll be happy to add a smaller variant of the ion rifle. Imho a ion carbine would be nice (same size as the energy carbine, but with ions instead)
  19. Unban requests subforum
  20. The statement is again incorrect. As explained, it implements part of the suggestion by the OP. Where else would you expect this to be posted ? Regarding your implication that there this hasn't been properly communicated: I first made a proposition in this topic and received positive feedback for it from quite a few people. Then I implemented it and again posted the link to the pull request in the topic. The discussion thread has also been linked on github. If a user is looking through the topic, he is informed. And if a user is looking through the pull requests on github, he is informed aswell. Also, apparently you are aware of it ?!
  21. This forum thread has gotten off the rails because the title is misleading. This git does not address the topic at hand, and a forum thread that clearly indicates what's being passed off on the server here, namely adding functionality which will allow admins to punish people for voting (and then not readying) should be added so people can see what is going on. [...] I have contacted you via discord and given you a chance to correct this wrong statement which you did not. So I am correcting you now. From the Forum Rules for this Subforum: Aparently you failed to do that. Or you would have noticed my post directly before the one where you made your accusations in. Where I have explained that this implements the second part of the suggestion from the OP. In the future: Please read the topic. Yes. All of it.
  22. The second part has been implemented. Do you still wish to have the first part implemented or should we moved that to completed and see how that is going to work out (after the next dev merge) and reopen another topic if needed. (specifically for requiring a minimum number of votes for the gamemodes)
  23. Now we can: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/4632 Messages the admins with those that voted for a specific round type, but then didnt ready up if that round type won the vote.
  24. "Most people who vote secret do so because they either prefer to not know the antag going into the round or because they do not have a preference at the time." That is not correct most of the time. What usually happens is that people vote secret because they want to prevent the other mode from happening. Sometimes you can notices that where at the start of the vote the individual votes are more distributed and towards the ends the votes generally go towards two options. The only voting change that would solve that is removing secret, never showing the vote result unless its extended and basing the probability for a gamemode on the individual votes a specific gamemode received. So we basically have secret with a dynamic probability. But since that has been suggested and is already being discused in a policy suggestion I am voting for dismissal here. Edit: fixed a error in the last part
  25. Added a variant of the smartfridge called the smartheater that allows to store prepared food inside of it. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/4633 Still needs sprites and still needs to be mapped in. If someone has sprites for it, contact me on discord
