Green or Blue? See recommended post for visual comparison.

  1. 1. Is the overall colour of the medical department preferred as the current Green, or is a complete overhaul to Light Blue preferred? Subsection colours will remain regardless, i.e. orange pharmacist, red viro, etc. GreenMed would lead to green being the default trim colour for Medical Doctors, as well as return of the green cross sign, green lockers, and make the cross on all medical jumpsuits green. BlueMed would lead to blue being the default trim colour for Medical Doctors, as well as leave us with the blue cross sign, blue lockers, and make the cross on all medical jumpsuits blue, as well as an entire change of the green floor tiles throughout the whole department.

I'd prefer if regular doctors had the green outfits, and we kept the green lockers and signs and such. The baby blue feels overdone and samey on every other server - and we already have bluesec. Otherwise, the outfits are nice.

Also I really like the red virology outfits, and it makes it feel much closer to the orange that pharmacists have, which I think it good, given they share a workspace. It also lights up the part of my brain that makes me think "oh no danger/important" that should come along with biohazards and viruses.

The CMO yellow isn't bad, but I liked it a little more when it had the more vibrant and saturated blue colour.

Research ones are also good, but I think the black front pockets the roboticists seem to have look a little bit silly.

Also, would it be possible to swap the stripe that goes down the arm for interns and give it to regular jobs instead? More uniform decoration would make me think someone has more qualification. Interns or assistants having more colour on their uniforms than full staff seems a little weird to me, but I guess that's just a personal preference.

I... didn't consider it that way. This reasoning makes sense, and I'll admit I mostly said green since it's the color I'm most familiar with for Virology and it's imprinted upon my brain. I wouldn't mind seeing a possible closer up screenshot with the green/red variants as examples to rethink my vote.

Cool clothing and colouring! The map would probably need a bit of tweaking to adapt it to the new sub-department colours, given the CMO is now yellow, and Viro is red, and stuff. So don't forget that!

But yes, great sprites, thanks!

Moved this to Projects because it's had a PR and such.

Also, the sprites all look really nice, they're very good. The only thing I would suggest changing is making the lockers, and signs and such green again, because Medical's primary colours have been green, not blue like on other servers. We already have bluesec, and blue command, a third thing having blue makes everything feel to monotonous, and greenmed set us apart at least slightly from other servers in a design aspect.

There's a somewhat bothering discrepancy with the blue and green crosses in medical, and I'll admit it now that I'm too used to Green Medical Crosses and Medical as Green overall that the blue is throwing me off a bit. Other than that, I very much like the sprites, especially the medical belt.

Although the Virology Jumpsuit and the Biochemist coat are still the old ones, and I don't think the red for Virology matches despite the good reasoning behind it.

Yeah, I think once the bugs are fixed this'll be good. Currently we have missing obj sprites for backpacks, the belt, the scrubs, the some of the signs. It's, sadly a WIP, because I'm forgetful. I promise that soon enough everything will be matching.

@furrycactus I won't comment on the GreenMed, because I was told we were LightBlueMed. But. If we're talking about setting ourselves apart. I'd say having completely unique uniforms sprites as a pretty good signifier of Us being Us.

The pic above is what we should look like once things are settled in properly.

I'm not sure who told you we're LightBlueMed because it's not correct

Blue is a better color for medical. "Tradition" and "Uniqueness" should be irrelevant when it comes to PRs and should rather be judged on their merits instead.

Also given the recent changes in lore and sprites, I'd argue that security is now "Black" instead of blue.
