  1. +1. Cult in it's current state is bland and boring, I would love something dramatic and cinematic like this.
  2. @MEDTECH You've been doing a good job so far and I can tell you care about improving and bettering yourself as a Command player. I forgot to put it above, but I meant to give you a +1 as well. Don't worry about the fax issue, just wanted to make sure you knew the situation with it, maaany newer command players struggle with faxing properly at first.
  3. You've been doing a decent job as Command, and while there are some things I believe you need to improve at, such as relations with coworkers, communication to both your staff and command, but more then anything, faxing. Learn how to properly fax, be it icly or oocly. When giving a situation report to Central, use the situation report fax, not general fax. Don't use cursive, and always make sure the fax actually sent. There have been times where you've said you sent a fax but we didn't receive one, or you sent a fax, got an "improper fax format" message, but didn't bother to even acknowledge it or attempt to send a fixed fax. I believe you can keep improving yourself as command and will make a great command player eventually so long as you keep an open mind to criticism and keep learning in the command role.

  5. Hello, Director! +1. I don't need to say anything that hasn't already been said, they have my full confidence.
  6. +1, I'm sure Robotic Potato will do great in a position of command, they've always proven themselves to be a good person to interact with both icly and oocly, and their roleplay quality is quite good
  7. I agree with pretty much everything everyone else has said, +1
  8. Depends on the role, if I'm in round and another CCIA agent can handle it, then that's that. If not, and it's an important enough fax that I need to respond to it, I will do what I often do when I need to go afk, I head to a bathroom, into a locker, or someplace where I can be alone and locked away to take a moment to respond to the fax. I misunderstood what Nienna was asking, which has been made clear to me in DMs. I believe I could handle faxes regarding antag gimmicks very well. I like to think I'm quite good at furthering antag gimmicks when presented with them, just recently infact I was given clearance to early respawn to help a wiz gimmick that would have ended at about 1:30ish, joined as Captain and caused the round to go on for another hour along with the gimmick that many people were involved in.
  9. Yes, absolutely. I am a very reclusive person, and have never felt the need to go out of my way to interact with the community as a whole but if I had a staff position I would attempt to be more involved with the community as a whole, as I believe that is what staff should do.
  10. CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: Hepatica01 Character names: https://imgur.com/a/FoXAq0M Age: 24 Timezone: Central Daylight Time GMT-5 What times are you most available?: It fluctuates wildly due to my insomnia and other sleeping issues. Sometimes I am available all night, sometimes I am available all day. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Five to six years How long have you played on Aurora?: Five to six years How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? Not too active on the forums, I'm not active in any of the official discords, I am very active on the server more often then not. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I have not Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: Seven or eight years ago, some GMOD servers, as well as one discord community server. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: No Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: I rarely see more then one or two CCIA staff online, and it seems they could use the help these days, both with handling somethings in round at times, as well as handling IRs. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: The capability of being unbiased, especially when dealing with friends in things such as incident reports, and the ability to forward on-going gimmicks in a round, or at least not to negatively impact them, in the form of fax responses. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: To respond to faxes in a manner that pushes the round forward instead of halting it in it's tracks. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: To handle incident reports, and the multitude of things that come with that such as messaging people on the forums or discord, collecting evidence, and etc. How do you handle stress?: Not the best. I wouldn't even say well. However, in the stressful moment, I can handle it and save any frustration, anxiety, or whatever other feeling until after the stressful moment has passed. Then, as I am only human, I will vent out my stress and get over it pretty quickly, usually. How well do you work autonomously?: I am extremely good at being told what to do, the offset of which being that I'm not the best when left to my own devices. However, after learning the process for things and what is expected of me, I am certain I could handle whatever would need to be handled without the direction of others. Additional Notes: I'm not perfect. Tt is not uncommon for me to make mistakes. However I will always admit to a mistake I've made, I have no issue accepting blame for mistakes made, nor apologizing for them afterwards. My point being, I can't promise I'll be perfect in the role, but I can promise I'll try my best.
  11. True is a great person and roleplayer, enjoyable to interact with ICly and OOCly. I'm sure they'd be able to make a great skrell. +1
  12. I've known Danse for awhile, he'll do just fine with a command whitelist I'm sure. +1
  13. You would never, ever, ever say this as openly as you did, sitting in the lobby of your office, talking to an NT employee. This is a foolish thing for a liaison to say or do out in the open for just anyone to see, not to mention getting attitude with the Captain for telling you not to say such things in the future. You would be absolutely stomped by NT and Hephaestus, who I believe you were representing, for doing something as stupid as this. Massive -1 from me.
  14. I saw the situation from start to finish, he got into a spat with Ermu Veere, the one who was nearly killed at the end, due to them wanting to kill Ian White, who had been turned into a skeleton unwillingly but had done nothing wrong all shift and had been cleared by everyone to not be a threat, including command. Ermu insulted him for wanting to kill Ian, and he had tried to break into RnD multiple times to kill her, which I stopped as my character by closing and welding a door in his face. At the end of the round, with nothing in his way, he decided to walk up and drill Ermu multiple times, claiming it was fine because he "aimed for the chest" or something like that, as they were bleeding out on the floor, and came extremely close to death, but was saved from it thanks to the CMO. They were also spending most of the round stomping around in an exosuit with a drill trying to fight the wiz despite ERT being on scene and the wiz having killed multiple crew, including all of security.
  15. One of the easiest +1s I've ever given. Has a wide variety of interesting and well RP'd characters that are enjoyable to interact with, is a good member of the community, and has been around long enough to prove that he can handle a species whitelist. I really like his character backstory, as well.
  16. As someone who plays the hell out of robotics, always have and always will, I cannot +1 this enough. I can't count the amount of times an interesting antag has had their round ruined by an exosuit. Hell, I've been that person that supplied the exosuit. I felt bad about it, as it's not fair to quite a few antag types. Now, that being said, exosuits aren't the biggest problem and are fairly weak for the most part, though easily spammed out given the resources and upgrades, hence why I think this is a good nerf. The REAL nerf here, and one that absolutely should be done, is locking out the security hardsuits as well. Let's face it, robotics is filled with power gamers, we recently had an event round that saw FIVE exosuits spammed out, many of which piloted by roboticists that have no business being in combat. This is an excellent idea, please make it happen.
  17. +1. Shen is a wonderful, genuine person. Their great to RP with, great to talk with, and I have no doubt in my mind they would do excellent in the position of moderator. Godspeed and good luck if you get trial. You're gonna need it,
  18. -1 Some people don't abuse it and actually have legitimate reason why they'd be able to resist. If anything it should be a "you can resist x many times" type of thing, to give people a chance instead of "got you on a ruin gg you're cult now". I feel like that would be far too abusable
  19. -1, various gloves, including ones that protect your hands from shocks, are not that hard to get. Cult robes are extremely strong and aiming for the hand is one of the few counters against cultists rushing you.
  20. +1, doesn't really make sense we drag body bags around on the floor, would never happen IRL
  21. Thank you for the information! I will do my best to take these things into account in the future
  22. Sorry for the wait! Been busy IRL. @DeadLantern 1. Sorry, I thought I had put it in the original post, she is Hhrarar. Being Hhrarar hasn't been anywhere near as oppressive as something like a Zhan, but it made it easier for her to become a Commissar as compared to other castes. 2. She does not like Njarir what so ever, cannot stand them frankly, she hates their uppity "holier-then-thou" attitudes, as she doesn't think they are any better then her, despite the way they act. Zhan, as well, she despises for obvious reasons. 3. She views the NKA as stuck up, clinging to their ways nobles who should have no groudn to stand on, in her eyes. They are nothing more them remnants of a bygone era that has long passed them by. The DPRA, similarly, she holds in severe disdain, seeing them as nothing more then terrorists. 4. She views religion as a constant in her life, and as such is a very important part of her identity.
  23. @Menown 1. While she harbors doubts, she is someone who grew up nearly having her parents killed, and as such can understand the fear and anxiety that caused such a policy. She, ultimately, has no outstanding issue with it. 2. I had for some reason thought the DPRA was older then that, she's meant to be in her later 30s. I'll edit it to just be a disgruntled tajara with no necessary affiliation 3. She will have quite a lot of issues with them, and that's by design, I'm interested to see how that will play out from a roleplay perspective. 4. She considers this chapter in her life, essentially, forcefully closed. Due to the traumatic events that have happened, specifically that she is afraid that remaining around may have the slightest of chances that she may run into the doctor from her backstory again, and she doesn't want to face that chance, she wants to get away from Tajara space all together. Likely a position in security, such as Warden or Officer. She chose Tau Ceti specifically as she has no experice with human imperialism other then what she's been told, and wishes to investigate if it is just as bad as she has been taught.
  24. BYOND Key: Hepatica01 Character Names: Klementine Kuznetsov, Zoya Kuznetsov, Meria Volvalaad, ISU-Brick, Jane Kanvers, Salvation, Guinea Sliver, IRU-Athena Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Light brown Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: As far as I know I have read every single Tajara wiki page. Infact, I have read most of them multiple times, as I have clinical memory issues and need to do so to better retain information. Why do you wish to play this specific race: While I've always liked Tajara lore, I've never really had that much of a drive to make a Tajara character. I have had ideas for Tajara characters here and there, but I've always put off making an app because I had my time invested into other characters previously. However, with the recent Tajara arcs that have happened my interest in the species has gone way up, and as I also am not as dedicated to other characters as I once was, I find myself looking for new ones to play. A lot of people have said this is the best time to apply for and play a Tajara, so I'm doing just that. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: While humans come in such a massively wide variety across the universe, Tajara are a bit more constrained in certain ways, and I don't mean this as a bad thing. For example, finding a non-political Tajara would naturally be quite rare given how embroiled in politics the species as a whole is. For most Tajara, their political beliefs shape their entire life, from military service to how they live their day to day life, and while that's true for plenty of humans as well, I personally believe politics are much more of an anchor in the life of a Tajara then humans. The constant civil wars Tajara are in with one another only serves to reinforce this, it is a staple of Tajara culture and history. As far as role playing the species goes, it's interesting to try to get yourself into the head space of an alien creature, as you have to completely change how you think about so many things, otherwise you just end up roleplaying a human who talks funny and needs a shave. There are so many things you have to account for when attempting to roleplay out something so foreign, that it ends up being a fun challenge, and when done right, only serves to better your own roleplaying ability. Tajara specifically are quite notable for how they refer to themselves as "He" or "She" instead of "Me" or "I", the way they roll their Rs in their speech, or having to account for your body temperature by not being able to wear heavier outfits without moderate to extreme discomfort. Character Name: Mari'Nawra Ayjah Please provide a short backstory for this character Mari'Nawra Ayjah, the first part of her name based on Rhagrrhuzau Al'Mari Hadii, grew up with parents fanatically devoted to the People's Republic of Adhomai. Her family openly and loudly supported the PRA in everything they did, where ever they went, which lead to them being targeted by a Tajara disgruntled with the PRA. While on their way home, the Tajara attempted to attack the family with a blade, but was shot and killed by a nearby Tajara. A young Mari'Nawra, terrified after having to face nearly losing the life of her parents and herself, looked up to the Tajara who saved them, the man's peaked cap shining in the light of the streetlamp that illuminated him looking like a shining beacon of the People's Republic. The man walked the family home, professing himself to be a Commissar of the party that had noticed the angry looking Tajara eyeing the family angrily while they were out eating. From that moment forward, Mari'Nawra knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life. Having seen the Commissar as a noble hero, she strives to follow in his footsteps, and became a member of the PRA party through inroads her parents had. For well over a decade she worked hard, training and studying to become a Commissar, even relying on the one who had saved her parents for guidance, treating him like a mentor and teacher. Determined to be the best she could be to properly represent the PRA, she took every possible course she could find in military study and combat training, amongst other classes associated with becoming a Commissar. Finally, after years of determination, she had proven her worth and was accepted as a party Commissar. Feeling as though she had achieved her life goal, she acted as one would expect, fighting with honor and courage, acting as her mentor did, a shining example to those around her for the glory of the PRA. Mari'Nawra's entire life had been focused on the party, and now the military as she followed around units she was attached too, she barely cared about anything else, but having achieved her life goal, she felt something missing from her life. In her pursuit to achieve her goals, she heavily neglected making friends, or finding love, which lead to her feeling an emptiness she wanted to fill. Despite this, however, she was still devoted to her career, though this would inevitably lead to her meeting a doctor during one of her visits to the hospital due to wounds suffered. The doctor was charming and caring, and would sit with Mari'Nawra while she recovered from a recent bullet wound, the two talked quite a bit, about her current military life, the PRA which they both served faithfully, and everything in between. They began dating for a few months, things were quite wonderful between the two and Mari'Nawra felt as though the hole in her life was finally closing up, however, she stumbled upon evidence the doctor was selling PRA information that he learned through gaining the trust of soldiers to a DPRA operative. She confronted him, her firearm trained on his head, but found herself unable to pull the trigger for the first time in her life, hesitating just long enough to allow the doctor to escape. The next day, she retired from her position as Commissar, no longer able to consider herself worthy of the position, and left Adhomai behind in hopes of finding a new goal elsewhere. Coming to Biesel, she sought work aboard a Nanotrasen research vessel to keep her income steady. What do you like about this character? I love her backstory a lot, though admittedly I'm biased in that, though I think it's interesting to hyper fixate so much on one goal that you forget everything else and let it fall to the way side, only to realize that doing so causes you to miss out on other goals you considered important as well all along. On top of that, it's always nice to throw in a bit of a heart breaking wrench into a character's story, IE Mari'Nawra thinking she may have finally found love but it ends up going against everything she's every strived for, and she ends up losing both things as a result, which will be enjoyable to RP the effect this has on the character's day to day life. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I have a hard time judging myself. I would like to think I am an average RPer at least. Notes: thank you for reading over my app
  25. Not sure if I'm allowed to post on this, but I received messages from Campin when the disconnect happened. I was very, very busy as Captain ICly so I didn't have time to ahelp it at the time, but eventually did when I remembered (I have clinically diagnosed memory issues), to which my ticket was closed with no response. This was moments after he had fallen SSD, as I found his body outside of command almost immediately after, when he had previously mentioned that he was there.
