[Accepted] Shenaaniganzzz wants to *chitter
Hepatica replied to Shenaanigans's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1, Shen has always done a great job with xeno characters, their RP is great and they are a wonderful person. I'm sure they'd do great with a vaurca whitelist -
I have literally been point blank hit by a frag grenade with no armor on and walked away from it icly. Laughable to call them instakill. Other explosive devices such as c4, welding tanks, and bombs, are far easier to play around then an ion one tapping you or an emp being thrown at your feet and detonating before you can properly react.

+1, IPCs are practically unplayable as antag, which only inhibits the RP potential that could come from it. I love this idea, however. I have one, and only one, concern. Exosuits. We recently had a worm event in which robotics spammed out five exosuits, four of which I believe were warmachines built for combat. Now, naturally the worms would not have been able to emp them anyway, AND robotics has been nerfed recently as well, that being said, it is still not impossible, nor even difficult, to spam out combat exosuits as things currently stand, even without materials. While they would be quite weak, I admit, it could still be very, very hard to deal with. I think robotics weaponry should be nerfed to require materials other then glass and steel, as currently the laser canon and mounted machine gun only require the base materials. While I don't think exosuits should be something you look at and go "yeah lets just sneeze on it and its done", I do not want to see two combat roboticists rushing into a fight with two exosuits and gunning down antags.

+1. Cult in it's current state is bland and boring, I would love something dramatic and cinematic like this.

[ACCEPTED] FieryTech's Command Application
Hepatica replied to MEDTECH's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
@MEDTECH You've been doing a good job so far and I can tell you care about improving and bettering yourself as a Command player. I forgot to put it above, but I meant to give you a +1 as well. Don't worry about the fax issue, just wanted to make sure you knew the situation with it, maaany newer command players struggle with faxing properly at first. -
[ACCEPTED] FieryTech's Command Application
Hepatica replied to MEDTECH's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
You've been doing a decent job as Command, and while there are some things I believe you need to improve at, such as relations with coworkers, communication to both your staff and command, but more then anything, faxing. Learn how to properly fax, be it icly or oocly. When giving a situation report to Central, use the situation report fax, not general fax. Don't use cursive, and always make sure the fax actually sent. There have been times where you've said you sent a fax but we didn't receive one, or you sent a fax, got an "improper fax format" message, but didn't bother to even acknowledge it or attempt to send a fixed fax. I believe you can keep improving yourself as command and will make a great command player eventually so long as you keep an open mind to criticism and keep learning in the command role. -

[ACCEPTED] Robotic Potato's Command Application
Hepatica replied to Robotic Potato's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1, I'm sure Robotic Potato will do great in a position of command, they've always proven themselves to be a good person to interact with both icly and oocly, and their roleplay quality is quite good -
[ACCEPTED] Sycmos - Command/Head of Staff Application

I agree with pretty much everything everyone else has said, +1 -
ccia agent [Accepted] Hepatica's CCIA application
Hepatica replied to Hepatica's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Depends on the role, if I'm in round and another CCIA agent can handle it, then that's that. If not, and it's an important enough fax that I need to respond to it, I will do what I often do when I need to go afk, I head to a bathroom, into a locker, or someplace where I can be alone and locked away to take a moment to respond to the fax. I misunderstood what Nienna was asking, which has been made clear to me in DMs. I believe I could handle faxes regarding antag gimmicks very well. I like to think I'm quite good at furthering antag gimmicks when presented with them, just recently infact I was given clearance to early respawn to help a wiz gimmick that would have ended at about 1:30ish, joined as Captain and caused the round to go on for another hour along with the gimmick that many people were involved in. -
ccia agent [Accepted] Hepatica's CCIA application
Hepatica replied to Hepatica's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Yes, absolutely. I am a very reclusive person, and have never felt the need to go out of my way to interact with the community as a whole but if I had a staff position I would attempt to be more involved with the community as a whole, as I believe that is what staff should do. -
CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: Hepatica01 Character names: https://imgur.com/a/FoXAq0M Age: 24 Timezone: Central Daylight Time GMT-5 What times are you most available?: It fluctuates wildly due to my insomnia and other sleeping issues. Sometimes I am available all night, sometimes I am available all day. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Five to six years How long have you played on Aurora?: Five to six years How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? Not too active on the forums, I'm not active in any of the official discords, I am very active on the server more often then not. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I have not Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: Seven or eight years ago, some GMOD servers, as well as one discord community server. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: No Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: I rarely see more then one or two CCIA staff online, and it seems they could use the help these days, both with handling somethings in round at times, as well as handling IRs. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: The capability of being unbiased, especially when dealing with friends in things such as incident reports, and the ability to forward on-going gimmicks in a round, or at least not to negatively impact them, in the form of fax responses. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: To respond to faxes in a manner that pushes the round forward instead of halting it in it's tracks. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: To handle incident reports, and the multitude of things that come with that such as messaging people on the forums or discord, collecting evidence, and etc. How do you handle stress?: Not the best. I wouldn't even say well. However, in the stressful moment, I can handle it and save any frustration, anxiety, or whatever other feeling until after the stressful moment has passed. Then, as I am only human, I will vent out my stress and get over it pretty quickly, usually. How well do you work autonomously?: I am extremely good at being told what to do, the offset of which being that I'm not the best when left to my own devices. However, after learning the process for things and what is expected of me, I am certain I could handle whatever would need to be handled without the direction of others. Additional Notes: I'm not perfect. Tt is not uncommon for me to make mistakes. However I will always admit to a mistake I've made, I have no issue accepting blame for mistakes made, nor apologizing for them afterwards. My point being, I can't promise I'll be perfect in the role, but I can promise I'll try my best.

Stobarico's Head of Staff Application
Hepatica replied to stobarico's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
You would never, ever, ever say this as openly as you did, sitting in the lobby of your office, talking to an NT employee. This is a foolish thing for a liaison to say or do out in the open for just anyone to see, not to mention getting attitude with the Captain for telling you not to say such things in the future. You would be absolutely stomped by NT and Hephaestus, who I believe you were representing, for doing something as stupid as this. Massive -1 from me. -
I saw the situation from start to finish, he got into a spat with Ermu Veere, the one who was nearly killed at the end, due to them wanting to kill Ian White, who had been turned into a skeleton unwillingly but had done nothing wrong all shift and had been cleared by everyone to not be a threat, including command. Ermu insulted him for wanting to kill Ian, and he had tried to break into RnD multiple times to kill her, which I stopped as my character by closing and welding a door in his face. At the end of the round, with nothing in his way, he decided to walk up and drill Ermu multiple times, claiming it was fine because he "aimed for the chest" or something like that, as they were bleeding out on the floor, and came extremely close to death, but was saved from it thanks to the CMO. They were also spending most of the round stomping around in an exosuit with a drill trying to fight the wiz despite ERT being on scene and the wiz having killed multiple crew, including all of security.

One of the easiest +1s I've ever given. Has a wide variety of interesting and well RP'd characters that are enjoyable to interact with, is a good member of the community, and has been around long enough to prove that he can handle a species whitelist. I really like his character backstory, as well.

As someone who plays the hell out of robotics, always have and always will, I cannot +1 this enough. I can't count the amount of times an interesting antag has had their round ruined by an exosuit. Hell, I've been that person that supplied the exosuit. I felt bad about it, as it's not fair to quite a few antag types. Now, that being said, exosuits aren't the biggest problem and are fairly weak for the most part, though easily spammed out given the resources and upgrades, hence why I think this is a good nerf. The REAL nerf here, and one that absolutely should be done, is locking out the security hardsuits as well. Let's face it, robotics is filled with power gamers, we recently had an event round that saw FIVE exosuits spammed out, many of which piloted by roboticists that have no business being in combat. This is an excellent idea, please make it happen.

-1 Some people don't abuse it and actually have legitimate reason why they'd be able to resist. If anything it should be a "you can resist x many times" type of thing, to give people a chance instead of "got you on a ruin gg you're cult now". I feel like that would be far too abusable
-
-1, various gloves, including ones that protect your hands from shocks, are not that hard to get. Cult robes are extremely strong and aiming for the hand is one of the few counters against cultists rushing you.

+1, doesn't really make sense we drag body bags around on the floor, would never happen IRL
