Many people wear a gasmask "just because" or "just in case". To put a stop to this there is an easy solution. Make them use filters, when one runs out it does not provide the protection a gas mask offers. After discussing in dead chat we thought about 10 minutes per filter. Of course, don't make filters available en masse. Maybe a little beep or other sound effect to indicate when a filter is about to run out (60 seconds remaining, maybe). Gasmasks shouldn't just give you tear gas immunity, and the protection they offer from gasses for free, all the time. They should probably also not be able to be hooked up to internals anymore, to accompany this change. Like, comment and subscribe below to discuss.

Right, know now that point blank shots are a thing but read the suggestion again. I suggest to make a move possible that announces the fact that i hold a gun to someone's head. So it doesn't drown under a situation by a /me.

I made a very similar suggestion, even when less fleshed out, some months ago. It was just said "so it's bay". Maybe I talked to the wrong people. I fully support this idea and would contribute to implement this in whatever way I can.

I don't know. There can be situations where it needs to be held more than five minutes. You say "allow admins to force it". If it is not auto-forced, then okay, I guess.

To clarify, I didn't mean to bad-mouth your suggestion. It's not bad. But undeniably there are some gamemodes that are just LRP by design. I am more referring to Garn's reply here.

Maybe make it a 100% guaranteed spawn in the library back room or something like that instead. While I don't think your reasoning is bad or something like that, I just think it's very mundane. We saw the addition of two sub-species not too long ago (Off-Worlders and Aut'akh) so even while it seems interesting (though, not groundbreaking) I don't think it's getting added. Sorry, you probably put some time into thinking this out.

The shuttle is being held daily. I have held the shuttle with other command a million times (dramatic exaggeration). No one has ever said anything against this. It's justified to hold the shuttle as Command when medical comes running with injured crew/detained prisoners/etc. It would be neglect of duty when the shuttle is secured and crew comes running and you just fuck off. I don't want to bash on you Garn, but your reasoning really seems out of nowhere. I have to agree with geeves, if you don't want it to be held, remove it.

so alright, kiddos, listen up: hold someone in an aggressive grab, use them as a human shield, hostage situation, you name it. You have them in front of you, you /me pointing a gun at their head. But why not a feature to actually do it, red text, do more damage, maybe (not sure how much point blank adds as is) when they have no helmet or so. Just aggressive grab, firearm in hand, aim mode, harm intent (or idk any other, I dont know what combination with what grab is already taken from the top of my head) aim at head or mouth maybe (like when you suicide). Would be cool, don't ya think.

ferner, I just noticed, the camera access monitor in the interrogation room/the adjacent one in security has a similar problem as the one in isolation. Does not work for some reason. Just noticed and wanted to point it out. Thanks!

It will require probably a lot of tweaking and rebalancing but all in all it sounds good. I can see Skull's criticism, but maybe you can both merge your ideas together for an even greater result.

I agree. The TCFL was a cool addition and should be called more often. Not as often as it used to be, but more often than now.

I have a split opinion here. On the one hand I agree that most antags won't give too much damns about it, since, as Amory already said, they mostly wear helmets/suits, etc., I also agree with his opinion on flashes. The thought to give people with actual records more leeway is also a good thought. On the other hand it will maybe cause great debate, ICly, on what is considered a small, nonlethal defense tool and it might give people more reason to be a bit more aggressive. I do not agree that people would prepare for antags or have them "just in case". Many people have pockets knives with them regularly, because they can be handy. I don't see the bleeding knives can cause as a problem, since medical supplies are widely available on the station, and its really no miracle work to get some. All in all I am in favour of this suggestion.

What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: The most important thing is to stay unbiased, when reviewing IRs and be as accurate as possible, when investigating one. It's expected of you to not prefer any player over another, based on OOC or IC interactions in the past. Some people cannot put a strict divide between IC and OOC, which is problematic as an agent. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: As I outlined above, driving the story, answering the sent faxes and situation reports. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: Outside of the server it's crucial to sort out any posted IRs in the forums. Nothing is more frustrating when you submit one and it does not get handled or concluded within a reasonable timeframe. That's something the players expect and that should be met. How do you handle stress?: I have graduated in a natural science (biology, more specific molecular plant physiology, with my thesis being in electroanalysis at the biophysics institute of my uni, for anyone who cares) and work in a lab. This can be much hell, with deadlines, experiments going wrong and generally tight schedules. And I am still alive and have not gone insane. So I guess I can handle stress relatively well. How well do you work autonomously?: Again, in a scientific/research field of work autonomously working is required and expected.
