I approached NewOriginalSchwann's character in an attempt to clarify some aspects of their story in-between interviews. At no point did I tell her that I was 'coaching' her, it likely came across as - you know - a Sol government service officer trying to give some advice to a Solarian citizen. The closest that came to coaching was, "You do remember being shoved, don't you? Wasn't it Shm'ta that did it?" Heck, man. An IC punishment that covers (perhaps) an exaggerated series of events from my own point of view that has resulted in a fine could certainly be dealt with an IC manner. I just think this whole complaint's a bit overboard, the whole point of CCIA existing is for them to handle IC actions in an IC way. This is sort of undermining that, and the ability players can have in turning the system to their gain. Also - I wouldn't call NewOriginalSchwann a metafriend. This is actually the first time I've ever connected a character's name to their Forum name.

I've even seen Cyborgs and Androids trying to slap people with misuse of the radio for speaking a non-Basic language over the radio. The only time it should be required is during an elevated alert, and Yellow Alert doesn't count, because that's not a "security". Security doesn't gain any privileges during Yellow Alert, beyond cracking out some firearms to respond to a biohazard. Just slap Security with illegal detainment if they try to bring someone in for speaking their own language.

I did do the coaching on-station. In-between interview. I was asked to file the report and made the most of it, IC punishments are purely IC, and a similar complaint like this was written in the past for lying in an IR. It was confirmed that people could lie. I encourage you to respond in an appropriate IC way, and you know I love you Jackboot, this has nothing to do with my OOC feelings on your characters or you as a player!

Hey, the event wasn't ran on Secret, in-case you forgot. It was ran on Extended.

Hey man, you know. Gotta' play ball when you don't wanna' play nice with ATLAS guys from Sol. There's plenty of IC ways to handle this, though it may come off as a bit scummy from an IC standpoint. It's been accepted that you can lie in an IR, but the draw-backs from lying if caught are extremely major. It's important to avoid picking fights with bureaucratic giants that know how to stack the cards in their favor, and I took the time to coach Linh as my Consul on what to say to the CCIAA during the interview so our stories lined up.

[Accepted] Nantei Command Whitelist
Brutishcrab51 replied to Nantei's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Eyyy. I've had reasons to dislike some of Nantei's characters, from a purely IC standpoint. I have every reason to like Nantei's characters from an OOC standpoint. Total joy, total enjoyment to see any of them on the manifest. They've done a pretty good job playing in Command roles as well, in my opinion. +1 -
yeah but even a fifteen-man PMC should have a laser carbine for their exoskeleton, jackboot.
-
I disagree. Giving them a Laser Carbine would suggest that they are an (under-funded) military entity. A jury-rigged welder laser is what mining cobbles up to fight Raiders. I doubt a military institution would use something so crappy in the first place, they'd look at it and go "what the fuck?".
-
CCIA and ERT are not on the manifest. It is assumed laws apply to these entities, even if they are not on the manifest, because they are NT employees. If an AI isn't dumb, if an Android isn't dumb, they shouldn't mistreat people just because there aren't records of them.

That's fine, buy food from the vendors if you think quality food is unreasonable.
-
I can go to the store, buy filet mignon, cook it and take it to work. It's in my lunchbox. Or, I can go to A-So, a restaurant where they prepare the food in front of me. 30 USD for a filet mignon, but you know what? That dude cuts this sucker up right in front of me and balanced an egg on a cleaver and made me laugh while doing it, and it was a good fucking meal. Why wouldn't NT pay for a high-class chef? President Dorn, Admiral Frost, Lord Han'San (Dominia Diplomat), Secretary Aristalus and more have been onboard, and it helps people forget that their corporation has the legal right to rip out brains and stick mind chips in corporate officers. This is stupid to argue. RP as you want as a cook, and provide the RP to back up your prices, and it'll be fine.

I like Amory's sprites, it gives a bit more of a gritty appearance to the mercenaries. Not everything has to be bright, and these look great.

This is okay. My primary concern with the last PR was that stun batons would get two hits or something ridiculous like this. Lowering the HALLOS/Agony dealt is perfectly fine. I also really like the system you want to do with siemens. Some dude in a battle RIG-suit shouldn't be as liable to shock damage or stuns as a dude in a security vest.
-
No. Even Police Officers have batons, or telescopic batons. I fully disagree with removing stunbatons if you don't want to give them some sort of replacement. All police have a "melee" weapon, utilized in an escalation scale as a part of their training, because tasers don't always work and not all situations require you to shoot someone. This is dumb.

BYOND Key: brutishcrab51 Total Ban Length: 7-days, week. Banning staff member's Key: riqpleydagasd Reason of Ban: Banned from Head of Security, Warden, Detective, Forensic Technician, Security Officer, Security Cadet - Disconnecting for +20 minutes as an officer with full gear. A weekban is being applied due to not being the first nor second time this happens. Reason for Appeal: Hey, so, I just wanted to state on this front that I'd been experiencing a pretty nasty connection around the start of the afternoon my time, that's just how my internet is. I hadn't been warned at all related to these incidents in the past, and before the disconnection that caused this ban - which I didn't learn of until today, when I got on to play -- I knew my connection was slowing down because I was freezing up, being DC'd and reconnecting, and announced in OOC my character's name, and that I was lagging out. Riqpley, please notify me in the future if there's an issue regarding my playing as Security. I don't even think this is the first or second time it's happened, as I typically cryo or ask people to cryo me, such as when I played Warden prior and stated in Security chat, "If I SSD again, cryo me."

Staff Complaint - Garnascus
Brutishcrab51 replied to CommanderXor's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
I've seen the shuttle held, typically to allow crew to board it that were far away from the surface, or to allow medical to move injured people there, or if there's damage to the station. Never seen it abused, though. Why not just clarify it as a rule, and determine in what sort of situations (vaguely, of course, up to admin interpretation upon seeing someone delay the shuttle if it's valid or not) it would be allowed to delay it. -
Reporting Personnel: Oscar Carter Easter Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Necropolis Industries Private Security, contracted. Game ID: b11-cB14 Personnel Involved: - Albert Maxwell, Chief Medical Officer - Offender - Scalpel, Visitor - Witness - Alice Green, Medical Doctor - Offender - Kuhserze Ioraks, Chief Engineer - Witness Time of Incident: 0840-0920 SMT. Real Time: 0800MST 06/30/19 Location of Incident: Medical Department Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ X ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ X ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [ X ] - Misconduct [ X ] - Other: Causing death of patient through negligence, attempting to cover-up. Overview of the Incident: The details of this report will be vague, owing to my inability to remember much of what occurred during the time when this incident occurred, up to and including my own death. I suffered heinous injuries following a swimming incident surrounding a diving board and an Odin-sponsored high-jump challenge. These wounds were treatable, but the misconduct of Chief Medical Officer Maxwell caused them to take a sharp turn. Particularly, when he attempted to shove me out of the room I fell into, Virology Quarantine, while I suffered broken ribs. This exasperated personal injuries to my person, causing intense organ damage until I could no longer stand. It was at this point that I was carried into Medical, properly, by Chief Engineer Ioraks, who followed me down the high-jump utilizing hardsuit sub-systems. Once in Medical, I received no treatment, and was placed down in a chair outside of the joint operating room. I was not given fluids, medical treatment or supervision. Past this point, I can only speak for witness reports, as I passed out. This is purportedly when I experienced 'death'. I next remember, of course, waking up in horrific agony as I was carted out of the Medical department in a white uniform, hairless and unable to control my arms, by Scalpel. I was immediately moved onto the Transfer Shuttle, received some level of medical treatment and was taken to the Odin Arrivals infirmary for expanded treatment. Displaying extreme confusion, and having not been notified of what had happened to me up until this point, I was told in plain terms by Miss Green that I had 'died'. She was not willing to expand on this point. I also have reason to believe that Mister Maxwell attempted to hide or misframe the cause of my death as a 'suicide', rather than accept the negligence of his actions. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: N/A, Head of Department subject of report, IAA unavailable. Actions taken: N/A. Additional Notes: This experience has been extremely traumatic. It was not just that I died, but that I died directly due to the negligent actions of medical personnel entrusted with efficiently running a Medical department and participating in proper prioritization of treatment and patients. All personnel listed as offenders in this report acted in extreme disregard not just for my safety and others, but for my health, causing brain-death before I ever reached an operating table. I will be reporting this incident to Sector Overseer Anton Volvalaad, this is an outrage of unacceptable proportions.

People getting drunk and acting aggressive in a holiday-esque and casual environment? Reminds me of the Fourth of July on Lake Pleasant. I'd love to help the next time something like this happens, though. I primarily play a Contractor character that wouldn't be too into casual beach getaways with NanoTrasen coworkers, so I'd be happy to play a security agent in beach shorts and a bulletproof vest.

Player Complaint - Shodan - 06/24/2019
Brutishcrab51 replied to MissNatcula's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
@Naelynn All I meant with that post was "my issues in-round were not solely directed at natcula or shodan and should not be viewed as if i were displeased with either" -
I honestly love this idea, and want people to talk about it.

Player Complaint - Shodan - 06/24/2019
Brutishcrab51 replied to MissNatcula's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I play Easter. The melt-down was directed at quite a few people, Lin just happened to be his boss. It culminated in my officer getting shot to death by other Security officers in a foolhardy attempt at rage-induced vigilante justice on a captured raider. See, my character died, was cloned, told bluntly that he was a clone and then learned of his own death over a recorder he keeps. Didn't see it, but me and another Officer were shit-talking the whole situation with the meeting in the Captain's Office when we saw it over cameras. I actually really enjoy your character, Dyslioth, and Shodan's too! -
I actually just used Holocomms, and people were left flabbergasted and amazed at it. "YOU CAN USE THE HOLOPADS?! I THOUGHT JUST THE AI COULD!". Pretty cool. Don't know why it's not used more.

All provided by my place of work, all employees carry one. It's rare to see any sort of business that's larger than a dozen employees not utilize radios where I live, which is Arizona, USA.
