  1. I believe the incident listed, the ERT Team being commanded, was due to the CCIA 'Return Mob' button, which we use to despawn out of the round when we're done, being broken for ERT Commanders. There's a github request on it somewhere. The CCIA playing the Commander was able to play out as an overwatch for the Team due to this. As far as our #1 bossman established (Synaliminum), the unofficial guidelines are that we use the ERT Commander to brief teams (if need be), to intervene in an ERT (If need be: See, overstepping their bounds widely), and at Admin request. There's some things that we have access to as an ERT Commander, that we would be immediately fired for if we used, without permission. (See: Bluespace Artillery). What we need is for Skull and Head Memes to establish guidelines in cooperation with the #1 Metal Gear Synaliminum, at the core of this discussion. Also, CCIA can inspect the station every once in a while. They fill in the same niche as fabled 'Duty Officers', but it should be very rare, and usually with the nod of staff. I've done it twice since the start of the year, and adminhelped both times for the go-ahead.
  2. Probably not. She's never dated anyone for very long. Never say never.
  3. An even better idea right here. As far as making RigSuits OP goes, they could just be an expensive Uplink item (15 TC?), Death Squad Rig addition, or event item (as, understandably, a personal combat shield is Military-grade equipment). I don't see why this shouldn't be an item if we regulate it.
  4. I can support this being an Uplink item. Maybe an event item, as well. We have k'ois zombies, mental implants, and intergalactic houses of pancakes. I can see a personal energy shield existing. Just make it only soak in a few shots, and be really 'expensive' to recharge. When a hardsuit runs out of energy, it stops functioning, and you choke to death. Has happened to me twice. They aren't all that OP. +1.

  6. The two were acting this way as their own gimmick after they'd been subverted by an AI, for the most part. Otherwise, they're friends that rough-house. While it may not entirely be appropriate, they weren't actually causing a ruckus that, in my opinion, violated OOC rules. They could've easily been asked to stop (and, to my understanding, did). I wasn't around for the entire round anyways.
  7. Corporate charges are something that are generally only applicable for punishments within a NanoTrasen installation, and what would be anything other than time in a cell or a fine (you are paid by NanoTrasen after all, right?) would be considered a Red-level violation, which also (within reason) probably violates a Biesel law, hence, Hold Until Transfer by default or cyborgification. Biesel has a fleet, the Cloud belongs to Biesel, and NanoTrasen operates within Biesel (with many privileges, such as maintaining their own Internal Security force), but the ISD aren't cops. NanoTrasen follows Biesel laws first, and their own regulations second, legally speaking. That said, there's a reason we have a Telecommunications satellite just to have inter-station communications. Having Fax machines locked behind Command access makes sense, sending a report straight to a Federal institution isn't something any civilian can do (In this sense, you quite literally contact the Biesel Government proper), or the Central Command of the most powerful corporation in the known galaxy. Besides, NanoTrasen handles the majority of Biesel security work, don't they? You might just be causing an ERT to arrive when Biesel sounds the alarm. Disclaimer that there isn't a CCIA set-in-stone policy on all of this. It really depends on the Staff and CCIA online at the time of a situation where contacting Biesel over NT would be seen as viable. I can tell you, it's not often. Not entirely true. You will probably alert the company because that's what your communications are set to, but most off-shore oil rigs, or even commercial ships passing near the territorial waters of a nation will have a radio chart to set their radios to those of local (Coast Guard, probably) frequencies to alert them in the event of an issue. What is true, is that you don't alert the police. Police don't deal with Somalian Pirates taking over your ship, the military does. Biesel doesn't have a big military, and did you know many of their security contracts are with NanoTrasen? NT's already in a position to do more for the Aurora (We didn't forget about the Icarus, did we?) than Biesel is, it'd make sense that it'd ultimately fall back on the Corporation to deal with the issue, unless the Corporation was the reason (revolution?) that there was an issue. This is what happens. Prisoners get transported to the NTCC Odin, and then get arrested by Biesel Authorities (ideally). Police don't maintain starships in Aurora's lore (Not that I know of, at least), and the Biesel Navy won't get mobilized to maneuver one of its ships to transport a Scientist who shot a Bartender.
  8. I can't say either way how my opinion will turn on this application, but personally? Honestly? Go for it, champ. Engineering mains are few and far between when it comes to whitelists. Work a bit on your grammar, stay with the community, and you'll do fine. I don't have much to say here, and I haven't seen much of you. I'm neutral, but I am leaning towards a +1.
  9. Sounds like you had a nasty bit. If you were interacting with a Head of Security who had a knife, during a Cult round where the Medical Bay was being invaded by armed death-worshipers, and you tried to stab him with a syringe, expect brief and brutal response. People don't like that happening to them, and an HoS is a person first, Head second. For all he knew, you were probably in league with the bad guys. Action will most likely not be taken, as the context of the situation is unknown to the Staff, you didn't adminhelp the situation, and Head of Staff whitelistees are trusted to not be shitlers. You weren't killed by a Head of Security, but you certainly were incapacitated when you tried to sedate him, in a nasty situation where blood worshipers were wiping people out. Sounds like you probably shouldn't take your duties too far on one of the most on-edge, authoritarian figures on the station during an emergency situation. Gotta' know when to flex your medical authority and when not to, because for all your technical wiki-issued authority, Security will barely glance at you when swords are getting buried in stomachs, unless it suits them. Also, I really don't like how you mixed a bit of IC and OOC into one with this question. Rubs me the wrong way.
  10. To my understanding, ERT are not employees of the NanoTrasen Corporation. They are contracted mercenaries, in this context, Phoenix Team. There is no real reason to play yourself off as one unless you intend to stop being a character that appears on the Station, and "ex-ERT" are ex-Mercenaries who likely wouldn't have the legal qualifications (Potentially Security experience though) to be a Head of Security on a NanoTrasen installation. They aren't law officers, they're paramilitary responders. If you want to be a space marine, do what everyone else does and make a Sol Marine veteran. B)

    Animals

During my time playing, I've had a character purchase three pets from the Merchant while on-station. They last for no longer than that round, and become a permanent part of the character's home life after the fact. Something to mention and take care of, not show off in a corporate environment. There is zero reason to bring animals onto the Aurora unless they're already there, or you buy them (see: Corgis and Cats from Cargo). Animals that follow orders follow the Attack/Follow/Stay format of commands that the HoS's dog uses, and if you want a dog that follows commands and doesn't just get dragged around, that'd be able to be used as a weapon (Like the HoS's dog), and that'd probably be a no-no. In that same thought process, having a simple-mob animal that doesn't follow commands would be detrimental to the point of a Custom Item, you'd have a harder time carrying it around and it'd all but disappear from your thoughts in over half the events occurring on the server.
  12. There was some discussion before I came to this opinion regarding this application. First: 1. It's awesome that you applied. I enjoy you quite a bit, and if you're accepted, I look forward to working with you. That said, 2. You had a pretty bad temper issue, and it did seem to slip into your judgement as a Moderator back in the day. Along with going a bit far with your authority at the time in regards to the WebInterface (But, hey, we're not here to file a complaint). You've gotta' stick to your lane here, handle the duties of the CCIA and only the CCIA, and don't go beyond it. It's the CCIA leader's job to determine policy, and it's only partly ours to interpret it. Can you stick to your lane? 3. You have had some warnings about that in the past, to my understanding. In the CCIA, it's important to cooperate and be approachable to everyone, even the uninformed and silly. Are you sure you can reign in your thoughts and attitude for this? It isn't as immediately satisfying as Staff work, and our job requires us to work through the players to get stuff done. Can you cooperate with people, and be approachable? 4. As a Moderator, you did some stuff that's already well known, and resigned, and following your resignation, said some pretty nasty stuff. How can we be sure you won't do this again? Can you reassure me, and us, beyond a shadow of a doubt that you can, again, stay in your lane and cooperate in a cordial manner with the team? If you can give me a 'yes' to all these questions, then it's a +1 from me and I'd be happy to see you go to Trial. If even one of these is a 'no', then it's a -1. For reference. 'Stay in your lane.' means to handle the duties of the CCIA, not the rest of the staff team at large. We aren't Moderators or Administrators.
  13. Dominian memes, huzzah. This looks great, and out of respect along that same vein of thought to the man who sprited the uniform I myself applied with, +1.
  14. wew lad
  15. Why not? Jackboot and the others have said why this 'ought to happen. The map has space to work with already, and Medical does suffer from over-specializations. This'd be something acceptable, and might encourage more Virology play, while allowing players to take part in other aspects of Medical. +1.
  16. I'd ship Lovesense. On a more serious note, she's the only character I've seen you play in-game, and I'm not really disappointed. There have been times when I'd come upon the Warden's office to speak to the character and find you AFK, but I sum that up to switching around Youtube or handling some other more important issue (Heck, we all have to go to the bathroom from time to time). You do well as a Warden-main on that regard, and I'd always like to see more of you on the server. But try to stay aware of round affairs.
  17. I like the character. My interaction with her's been limited, but, she gives off that feel you could expect from a youthful individual in a non-serious position (Botany, or an Assistant, if I remember right). It can sometimes seem to go a little far and even display 'meme'-like behavior, but that's just my opinion, and I'm sure that's due to anyone displaying wacky or unusual tendencies to be thrown in with the meme-group given this is SS13.
  18. I I am upset that Halstere is not on this.
  19. Might be interesting if you just threw 4-5 of these 'ear defenders' in the Unsecured Armory and made them require Code Blue, similar to nonstandard vests. However, Alberyk took the words right out of my mouth. We do have ear muffs, and in the case that you're breaching a room full of hostile and nasty gunmen, some sacrifices just need to be made, especially if it comes to radios. If it's really such a concern, carry your walkie-talky station-bounced radio in your pocket.
  20. You're boarding a high-security remote Research Station, after going through 1-2 Security searches onboard the Odin through Internal Security, after passing Biesel Security to board a shuttle to go to the Odin, and then to the Aurora (Unless you live on the Odin, but if that's the case, how are you getting your drugs?) Disclaimer, not that we've covered this. But basing purely off of IRL security standards, it's highly unlikely that people could easily-enough smuggle narcotics onto the station enough for them to be applicable for a Loadout option, along with the obvious issues this would present for a community claiming to base in HighRP.
  21. Tishina only looks through applications once or twice a month, and looks at all of them. (S)he won't take a look at any single one before the other, unless there's an issue like she stated in the above.
