The content from 'Combat Robotics' has been moved to 'Robotics Overview' in order to better condense and curate the lore. Nothing overtly large has changed other than the move and a few tweaks here and there. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Robotics_Overview --- The Golden Deep have 5 new outfits in addition to an update applied to all of the Golden Deep accessories. Credit to Kyres for the dresses, The Stryker for implementation and Tailson for the item flavor text. These items can be found in the loadout tab under 'Xenowear - IPC'.

The backstory is too barebones in it's current state. Can you expand upon it as well as the question: I recommend trying to tell a story with your application. Previously accepted applications are a good way to see what is acceptable as well.

Cyleans/Naely's (Not Naelynn!) IPC Application

Thank you for the clarification. Your application offers an understanding of IPCs and applying said concepts to character creation. Thank you for the fun and refreshing read as well. Accepted! -
Cyleans/Naely's (Not Naelynn!) IPC Application
niennab replied to Camellia's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Sounds good. So they were owned by the Merchant then Nanotrasen until securing their freedom? Or did they work at Nanotrasen but owned by the Merchant until securing their freedom? If they're free, you may want to make them fairly old, so to offer a reason as to how they've paid off the cost of their purchase x10. That or, if you wanted to push a more questionable narrative, that they've done work on the side in order to amass said credits. -
Cyleans/Naely's (Not Naelynn!) IPC Application

Thank you for applying! I always appreciate long forms applications such as this. Was Nine (and I suppose Eight) purchased or contracted from Idris? It should be noted that Idris Security units aren't shells, which I think Eight and Nine are. However, I believe with some tweaking this can be remedied by them being purchased/contracted reclamation units. Was Nine/Nietzsche sold to Nanotrasen by the merchant? Are they still owned by Nanotrasen? There are a few points where I found myself a bit confused however. I'm not sure what happened, such as the paragraph here: -
Thank you for the additions/clarifications. The application is still quite barebones and does not touch on a lot of the aspects crucial to IPC roleplay. Such as the IPC's ownership status, the question of how they differ from humans, as well as the discrepancy between being made in Mendell City in Biesel, yet his chassis was given to him by the Sol Alliance. As such, I will be denying the application for now, as I don't feel it offers a concrete understanding of IPCs. However, I recommend reaching out and roleplaying with IPCs in game. Interacting with them can be a great way of organically picking up synthetic lore as well as the galaxy's lore. You're welcome to reapply in a week minimum.

Playbahnosh's IPC application

Thank you for applying! Your backstory and answers offer a well rounded understanding of IPCs and applying said information to character creation. I'm excited to see this character in game. Accepted. -
Can you expand on the backstory as well as this question? In regards to the backstory, there is a lot of details left unsaid. Why was the positronic stored for 15 years? Where was the positronic from? How did it get to the scraptown? Who 'gave' it it's baseline chassis and where did they get it from? Where is the scraptown located? Who owns the IPC? Why does it know cooking and xenobotany? How does it know xenobotany? How did they acquire training in combat? How did they get to the Aurora? So on and so forth.

Poofy pants, poofy pants, poofy pants, poofy pants, poofy pants, poofy pants. You did a fantastic job on these. An easy +1 from me.

Feedback Thread : Security clothing tweaks
niennab replied to wowzewow's topic in Completed Projects
How do the tan officer additions look with the current available uniforms? Since Zavodskoi sports more of a black or tan with hints of red look, my only fear is that visually the tan uniform is dipping into the Zavodskoi aesthetic. -
Please remove this ghost role. Nothing takes me quicker out of the round by a rat spamming airlocks or running amuck while I am trying to roleplay. Worse yet that I tend to play characters that don't want to kill rats and yet I am constantly forced to rid myself of them due to how overwelmingly awful they are.

Not to worry. In terms of character creation these are small details that can ultimately be tweaked or shifted to better fit a narrative. One could also argue that they simply weren't able to get a distress signal out. Whether due to personnel being captured and/or communications technology being destroyed, etc etc. Your proposed solution works as well. Nonetheless! Your application demonstrates an understanding of IPCs, accepted!

Thank you for applying! My only worry with the backstory comes down to the severity of the events and given it's close proximity to Biesel, one could reason that an event such as this would be in the news. Why did NT refuse to assist Archimedes? Why weren't ERT or the TCFL dispatched? Especially given the recent phoron shortage? As such it may make more sense if Marvin was employed out in the Coalition of Colonies or the Frontier. That or, potentially on a freighter ship, which could better allow for a more danger in space type scenario.

You are level headed, kind and pleasant to work with. As such I can't think of anyone more suited to the role than you. +1 Although I haven't read the Unathi lore or any subsequent changes, from the outside looking in I've always felt disinterested in acquiring a whitelist. This is due to the built-in sexism that I would rather not face in game on top of simply by existing in the real world. Do you see this as an issue or something you'd like to remedy?

Although a simple backstory, the team believes that you have an understanding of IPCs and the desire to learn. Accepted. Keep in mind that an IPC doesn't necessarily learn on the job as a human would. This is due to the idea of them being manufactured for a purpose or having databases for that purpose. And so you'll need an excuse if you're still trying to learn medical while in the role. It still can be done however. The excuse usually that the character is adapting to the new place of work or still familiarizing themselves with the role.

Feedback Thread: Replacing the Disruptor Pistol sprites
niennab replied to SinfulBehaviors's topic in Discontinued Projects
I don't mind which one the server uses however I will say I much prefer the indication of stun vs lethals on the proposed version. I always found it a bit hard to see the green on the current sprite. Speaking of, could the red be closer in it's saturation/light value to the blue in the proposed sprites? The larger disruptor pistols seem less saturated on the red portions. -

Add 2 extra maglights for Detective and Foresinc Technician
niennab replied to Valwyn's topic in Completed Projects
I agree in that there should be enough maglights for everyone in the department. I can't recall how many the department starts with but what I suspect is that ideally they were meant to be for the officers and cadets. However that means that if a Detective, FT, or Warden takes one, it means someone else doesn't get one. Or vice versa. -
